Joel Goldsmith | Living the Infinite Way | How to find God? | Marcos Gualberto

GC: Hello, everyone! We are here for another videocast. Once again, Master Gualberto is here with us. Thank you, Master, for being here.

Today, I am going to read an excerpt from a book by Joel Goldsmith called "Living the Infinite Way." In an excerpt from this book, Master, Joel makes the following comment: "May each one experience God, know God." On this subject, can the Master share his vision on how we can find God?

MG: Gilson, finding God means becoming aware of Reality. It is not an element - this "I," this "me" - it is not someone having an encounter with God, it is the awareness of Reality that God is the only Truth present. So, there is a mistake here in this question, which starts from a totally false principle. The mistake is that someone is present here in life, separate from life; someone present in existence, separate from existence. This concept is the concept of separation. In thought, in belief, the idea present in us is of the existence of God separate from what "I am." So, there is this thing that "I am" - notice, this "I am" or this idea of this "I am," the whole idea that I have about who "I" am. We are faced with something that is based on thoughts, concepts, images that thought builds about "me." This too, of course, naturally, is a belief; every idea that you have about yourself. And we also have an idea about God. All of this is within this circle, which is the circle of thought.

So, thought is a circle. Within this circle are the beliefs, concepts, ideas, opinions, and conclusions. Everything that we have been taught and that is part, today, of this knowledge that we bring, is present in us at the intellectual level, at the level of words, ideas, thoughts. So, this separation between the reality of what is the truth about "me" and That which is the Truth about God, this separation, all this ideation that revolves around thoughts about this, is a mistake. So, people want to find God, but what is the truth of the person? We do not comprehend the truth about who we are and we have all kinds of ideas about who God is, all kinds of evaluations, beliefs, and conclusions. And we do this based on everything we have heard, everything we have read. Some go a little further and manage to obtain experiences, but these experiences, however rich and profound, still remain, afterwards, as a remembrance.

Every present experience that you have is the result of the past, of something that you have been through, and when you talk to me about an experience, you are only making me aware of something that you have been through. That is how experiences are! So, neither this idea of finding God is real, nor are these statements that are made based on acquired experiences. So, when you have experiences, when you go through experiences, you report these experiences, but we are faced with an intellectual game, with words.

You come and ask how to find God. Here, the real question would be: What is the Truth about this "me," about this "I"? What is the Truth about who I am? Or: What is this that I am? So, yes, we have an encounter with Reality. But as I have said to you here countless times, this word "encounter" presupposes something that is not present to be found, nor a present element separate from that which one wants to find, desires to find, needs to find. So, here there are three things: the first is that which is not present to be found; the second is that element which, in fact, is the main element in the search, in the quest, which wants to find; and the third element is the movement of the one who seeks towards that which one is seeking. We are faced with a construct of thought. All of this is a mere construct of thought! Thought gives you the feeling of "someone" present, it gives you the belief in a distant God and, because of the presence of thought, this notion of some moment to find. This moment is, of course, this whole notion of time. There is no such thing as time without thought; there is no such thing as the one that has not yet found - which is the "I" - without thought; and there is no such thing as God being an idea, a belief, which is also a thought.

Can we get closer to life, at this moment, to a direct vision of Reality, of That which is present when thought is not? We live in thought, with thought, through thought. What we call "life" consists of the idea of relationships with things, with people, with situations, with events. The main element in all of this is still, for the intellect, for this conditioned model of thought in us, ideas. Relations are based on ideas: "me and you," "us and them," "me and life." Observe the implication, what this presence of thought implies in all of this. It is thought that guides what you feel, what you say, what you think, and what you do within these relations. These relations are not true when they are based on thought, because it is thought that is superimposing upon this Reality of the moment, of everything that happens, this principle of separation - "me and the other thing." We do not know the Truth about ourselves, we do not know the Truth about the other, about life, about God.

You come and ask: "How to find God?" Become aware of the Reality that is present here and now. This will never be possible in this movement, which is the movement of thought. Thus, Comprehension here consists of the Revelation of this encounter. Yes, this encounter consists of this Revelation, which is this Comprehension. When there is a Comprehension of Life in this moment, this element called "thought" disappears, and when it is not present, we are in contact with the Reality of the moment. The Reality of the moment is the Reality of Life, when thought is not there; and without thought, this element, which is this "me," this "I," no longer exists. Without this element, there is no longer any movement of reaching, of obtaining, of finding. So, That which is this Divine Reality, this indescribable, unnamable thing, which is beyond words, reveals itself in this moment, as being the Truth of your Being, as being the Reality, the Truth of Life.

Thus, the purpose of these meetings here is to have, at this moment, a real approach, something possible when we are free from thought, free from this sense of "I," from this "me," then the Reality of God is present - this Reality is this encounter. It is not someone having an encounter, it is the encounter revealing itself.

GC: Master, we have a question from a subscriber here on the channel. Ione asks the following question: "When you say 'at the moment the disciple is ready'... I ask you: what does it mean to be ready? What does it mean to be ready?"

MG: Gilson, look at the question. The question is: in the phrase "When the disciple is ready, the Master appears," what is the meaning of the expression "ready"? What is the truth of this readiness? When are we, in fact, ready? When we have the real condition to become aware of something, to do something. So, this readiness is nothing other than a real disposition to assume the Truth of what is shown to us, of what is presented to us, here within this context of speech. When are you ready? When you are ready! There is no intellectual definition of words or verbal definition about this. A direct approach to what is shown to us as being the Reality of Life to be lived in this moment, without the illusion of this sense of "I," of the ego, without the illusion of this movement of thought - which are these constructs of imagination, memory, remembrance. The Vision of Life, clear, lucid, real. This true readiness to assume This means being ready.

Otherwise, we remain in theories, concepts, beliefs, words. And we can continue repeating these words - which are mere words - we can continue believing and finding all this beautiful, but there is no readiness for this work, for this Realization, for this Vision. What denotes this readiness more clearly is surrender, is the true surrender to the very work. Once there is the presence of this surrender, of this work, there is the presence of readiness. You ask: "How can I be ready?" From this instant, from this moment. If there is something there that shows you the truth of this and the importance of this, to be lived in this moment, it is no longer a matter of how to be ready. Here, you are either ready or you are not ready. When you come across a speech like this, a work like this, this work already finds you either willing to do it or to continue theorizing about it. There is no such thing as "how to be." Readiness is either present or it is not present.

Gilson, there is confusion here. We believe that we can, through idea, belief, desire, intention, effort, become ready for this. This readiness comes from this mysterious Presence, which is the Presence of Grace. This readiness is something that operates on a level outside of this intention, this volition, this wanting; it is something that is either present or not present. Right now, when you come across everything that is presented here, if this is something that really makes sense to you, internally - not only on an intellectual level, but on the level of the totality of the mind and heart - if this is something that burns inside you and drives you to this surrender, to this devotion, to this involvement, it is a sign that you are ready. You are ready because Grace has given you this readiness!

This work is very, very mysterious. It is beyond will, wanting, desire. It is beyond the knowledge that is acquired by listening to speeches, reading books. This work is also beyond experiences. So, it is not about an intellectual approach, about knowledge. It is not about the mere desire, will, or intention to do This, and it is also not about experiences that one has, that one obtains. There is a touch in each one of us beyond the mind, beyond this sense of someone present, who is fully willing to listen, follow, and learn about this subject. Here, the real way to approach this listening is not by listening as we usually do. This is not about following this subject as we generally follow any other subject; and learning is not about learning by accumulating information, acquiring knowledge or experiences.

So, this encounter with Reality requires the Presence of this Grace, of this mysterious Truth present, which places you in this readiness, in this real condition of full involvement, of total involvement, for the end of the "I," for the end of the ego, for the end of this illusion, for the end of this dream, of this psychological condition of separation, of duality.

GC: Master, we have another question from another subscriber on the channel. He asks the following question: "How can we reach this State of Consciousness?"

MG: Gilson, here we come across another question: "How can we reach this State of Consciousness?" Our idea is to reach it. It is because the idea we have is that it is not here yet.

And, here, we have to stop and study this, investigate this, have complete clarity about it. It is clear that this is not something that we have to approach intellectually, verbally, with words. What is the truth of the absence of this State? Because the idea is the absence of this State. The great truth about this is that what we know, which is within the known, is what has provided the basis for this consciousness that we see present within us, which is this consciousness of the "I." So, when we use expressions like "reaching," "arriving," "obtaining," this is precisely within this condition of consciousness of the "I" in which we find ourselves.

And why do we find ourselves within this consciousness of the "I"? Because we lack a vision of the Reality of our Essential Nature, of the Truth about who we are, of the Truth about That which we are, and the Truth about this is that this Real and Divine Presence, Consciousness, is not absent. It is something present, but we are not aware of it, due to this model of consciousness, which is the consciousness common to all, which is the consciousness of the "I." And what is the basis of this consciousness of the "I"? It is this movement within us of thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, and perceptions that occurs unconsciously here, at this moment. So, bringing awareness to this movement, becoming aware of this movement, is what brings about the Awakening of this State, this New State, this New Consciousness - That which I have called Real Consciousness. This is the end of this consciousness that we know, which is the consciousness of the "I." This is the end of this unconsciousness that is the consciousness of the "I," where we are involved with the old model of thought, feelings, and emotions, within a completely, totally, dormant psychological condition.

Disorder, confusion, problems, conflicts, and various sufferings are something that is present because of this consciousness of the "I," this unconsciousness. You ask how to reach this State of Consciousness... Here, it is about investigating the nature of this old consciousness, getting closer to it, and it is through comprehending this entire process, which requires the presence of this vision about how we function. This is exactly how we use the word here - pointing exactly to this - "Self-awareness." Comprehending the nature of the "I" itself, the nature of the mind, how we process this issue of thoughts, feelings, emotions. The Awakening of your Essential Nature, of your Divine Nature, requires an approach to your reactions, to what is happening to you, to what is you in this movement, which is the movement of thought, of feeling, of emotion.

Our contact with this moment is a contact that has, by nature, the idea of someone within this contact, making choices, having ideas, evaluations, concepts, opinions, while, in fact, what is present is only this movement, which is the movement of thought. By becoming aware of this movement, you can go beyond it, and when we are beyond the movement of thought itself and these old reactions that come from the past, from this background of memory, of remembrances, of recollections, there is this New State present, this Real Vision of Life as It is, without the "I." Therefore, it is not about achieving, it is about verifying this present Reality, here and now, without the past, without thought! This is Realization, this is the Awareness of God, this is the Awareness of your Being, this is the Awareness of Life. Thus, we are faced with a single Reality: the Reality of God is the Reality of life.

GC: Thank you, Master, our time is over. Thank you for this videocast.

And for those of you who are watching the videocast until the end and really want to experience these truths, we invite you to participate in the meetings that Master Gualberto offers. Here, in the first comment, pinned, is the WhatsApp link so you can join the WhatsApp group about these meetings. In these meetings, Master Gualberto answers our questions live, and much more than that: because the Master already lives in this Awakened State of Consciousness, his Presence is an energy field, and in these meetings, we end up taking a ride on this Master's energy field. This is an incredible facilitator for us to have a vision of what is beyond intellectual understanding.

So, here's the invitation. In the first comment, there's the WhatsApp link. Also, please give a "like" on the video and subscribe to the channel. And, Master, once again, thank you for the videocast.
