The psychological conditioning. Action free of the ego. The egoic consciousness. Egocentric activity

What does it mean to be conscious? Being conscious… The way we approach the present experience – it’s quite interesting for us to investigate that.

We are, in these meetings, deepening this thing, discovering… discovering in ourselves, with ourselves, what it means to be aware, what it means to live the experience, the experience of this moment.

In general, the program, the form, the model, the programming in us, what I’ve called psychological conditioning, is like this: in contact with an experience, coming across it, we already bring a photograph. So, it always seems like it’s a contact of recognition since we always bring a photograph of past experiences, and that’s the narrowest, most limited way of being in touch with the present moment. This is how we process experiences.

Life is something here and now. Whatever is arising is arising in a new way; it’s the first time this is happening. When, for example, we have contact now and tomorrow we meet each other, in fact, 2 photographs will meet, the one you took of me and the one I took of you. This is what we call being conscious, this is how we process present-moment experiences.

This psychological condition in us is a deformity; it’s not something natural in our Being. This is how we process all information. This information is a record we have as files we bring. We make use of it for merely mechanical life. That’s a technical way of putting it. We could call it a merely egoic life, putting it from a psychological viewpoint.

Every movement of the present “person” is a movement of the “I,” this movement of memories, files, and photographs. Then, what is present is the egoic action, the egocentric movement, and the movement of the “I.” The tragedy of this is that our life is entirely trapped in the movement of the limitation of an illusory identity, as if it were real here, at this present moment, doing things right.

Our work together here is to discover Life now, as It appears, as It is when the “I” is not present. So, the Freedom to live is the Freedom to be free from the ego, this egoic model, these activities, these relationships based on this background, which here we’ve called the psychological conditioning.

All the unhappiness present in us is because the whole the Beauty, Grace, and the Truth of this present moment is annulled when the sense of ego is present. In other words, my relationship with you, based on this photo I took of you and you took of me – happened yesterday, and now this encounter is taking place – this relationship is always a relationship based on this egoic model; it’s always the sense of “I” present in this experience, in this contact, in this relationship.

Then, what do we have? Unhappiness. Is it possible for us to discover an action free of the ego and therefore an action free from the past? Is it possible for us to discover a new way – which is no longer about being conscious, in this old model of how we function – to have a new looking, a new hearing, a new feeling when the other is present? And, here, the other can be a person, nature, objects, a thought arising, a feeling... Looking at it in a new way, looking at it without being conscious… I'm going to call this being Consciousness, rather than being conscious.

To be conscious is to take these records, these photos, this background of conditioning, this model of memory and make this encounter, which, in fact, is not happening. It’s not an encounter, it’s actually a clash. As I've been saying: you don't meet the other; you clash with him or her.

The sense of the ego present, in this model of demand, desires, hope, hopelessness, fear... this meeting is always a clash! Our egoic relationships are tedious, tiring, boring, and repetitive. It’s a model of life where what predominates is, in fact, suffering and unhappiness since what is present is the ego in its demands, this “I” that needs you, wants something from you, that is demanding something from you.

So, human relationships are within this base. Our human relationship also with nature, with objects, our so-called human relationship with feeling and thinking... There’s always this confusion, there is always this tangle.

Thus, these photographs are not organized; they don't have a coherent model. Life here and now carries Plenitude, Totality, a Truth we don’t know when we position ourselves based on the past, based on memory, based on these records. So, we have to discard from our lives this model of “being conscious” to be Consciousness. And Being Consciousness is possible when the ego, the “I” is not present.

So, my contact with you is actually my contact with the Joy of being Consciousness since This is what I can recognize in What You are, This is what I am, then, there’s no separateness.

This sounds very strange to us because we were programmed, conditioned, to see the world from this perspective of separateness: there’s I and there’s you; there’s you and your demands, beliefs, opinions, judgments, comparisons, desires, and fears, and there’s I… Me with my fears, desires, comparisons, and demands.

So, our meetings are these meetings in this relation of separateness. The beauty of Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening – those are the terms people use, right? But, actually, it’s the Flourishing of your Being, of that Being-Consciousness, your Natural State.

The beauty of this Being-Consciousness, which some call Enlightenment, Awakening of Consciousness, is that, in this contact, what prevails is Silence, Intelligence, Compassion, Love, Care, an Appreciation free from ulterior motives, from secret desires. It’s always the Joy of being Consciousness. That Joy of being Consciousness makes your eyes shine with that Joy of looking at the other and seeing Yourself.

Unless you are disturbed, someone very far from the norm, the normality, when you hold a baby in your arms and look into its eyes, you don't want anything from that baby... unless you are out of normality. But, in general, you hold a baby and look into the baby’s eyes… you don't want anything! It’s just the joy of being with the baby in your lap. It’s not the comfort the baby receives, it’s the Joy of the comfort of being Yourself because at that moment the sense of “I” disappears: you don't demand, don't want anything, you're not demanding anything, asking for anything... The baby won't give you anything. The baby just partakes of your Joy of having it there. The baby is that Joy and you are that Joy. I don't know if you're holding him or if he’s holding you because it’s an instant of the absence of the sense of ego, the sense of separation.

We all have moments like this in life where the sense of “I” is not present. And there’s an enchantment, a sense of beauty, gratitude, comfort, care, Divine Presence, naturalness, and freshness at that instant, at least for a few seconds, until you don't get bored, or it seems that the child had bored you... but, at least for a few seconds, there’s a moment of encounter with What is inexplicable: the instant of the New, the Unknown; it’s the moment of Beauty, whether it’s a child, a small animal, a pet, or a child’s smile when looking at you... It’s just a smile, there’s no intention, no motivation, nothing to gain, to be exchanged; something gratuitous, free, without desire, without fear.

For a few seconds, the sense of “I,” the ego, the egoic consciousness is not present; for a few seconds there’s no egocentric activity. At that instant, everything is Being, Consciousness, this Presence.

I want to invite you to this Awakening of your Essential Nature, to have eyes like that in your life, moment by moment, for everything! We only have a few moments like that in contact with nature, in contact... the moment you see a bird perched on a tree branch... For a few seconds, there’s a looking free from the “I.” A tree gives you nothing; there’s no impulse, no desire, no stimulus to any egoic activity. That instant is the instant of Consciousness, the instant of Presence.

This is Meditation without the meditator, without the practice of meditation. You don't prepare yourself for This; you don't know when This is going to happen. This is an unknown new moment. It comes as a touch, an invasion of something outside your premeditation, your “me,” your “I,” your ego. This is outside your photo cards, your “kept” files; This is outside the “I.” This photo card, this archive, is what I’ve been calling psychological time; that’s where your ego lives, your “I” lives, and the “person” you believe you are has existence.

So, what is Awakening, Enlightenment? It’s to remain free from your “I,” your “myself,” “myself,” “I know,” “I want,” “I don't want,” “I like,” “I don't like,” “I accept,” “I don't accept,” “I forgive you,” “no, I won't forgive you” … to live free from that sense of an “I” present with needs, lack, and motivations. Does it make sense or not?

This is Meditation! This is Meditation! It’s to remain as Being-Consciousness! This is the real way – which is not a formula, a path, a method, or a system – it’s the real way to remain free from all forms, all formats of approach to Life as It is here and now.

People want to find out what Meditation is. They actually carry Meditation already in them. This is a common experience for everyone! This has been with you since childhood, but throughout your life, you have lost it. You got into the forest of civilization, into the world of desires, dreams, projects, conquests, the attempt to win, to achieve, and also to get rid of; you got into the woods, along the path of choices, and lost your Natural State of Being-Consciousness, which has its own way of conducting you, because You are that Presence, You are that Consciousness. That human form, body-mind, is that Presence, that Pure Being-Consciousness.

Surrender to Truth – what we now must do. We have to abandon what we've done, we have to unlearn what we've learned, we have to get out of this wood, this forest, this old ancient journey, and go back to the Truth we are here and now. And that gives you the real lead, to this body and mind, to a loving, happy, blissful, peaceful, and also prosperous life.

So, it’s not about you looking for different ways of obtaining results from imagination*, dreams, an “I” projecting itself to accomplish things, to live This, this Completeness of being Consciousness. This is already here when the sense of “I” is not present. So, everything that is necessary and real for this Life of Plenitude, Happiness, Love, and also Prosperity, is already present when the sense of “I” is not.

So, mentalization to make dreams come true, projects, objectives, goals... the 5-year goal, visualizing objects glued to the fridge, the famous “The Secret,” none of this makes the slightest sense for What You are, which is Being-Consciousness, the very Source of everything, everything, absolutely everything!

So, this is the formula-free way of being here and now, in this contact. Listening to the other in this way, hearing a speech like this, relating in this way, feeling what is going on inside and outside yourself without this background, this programming, this conditioning, this illusion of being conscious... This is what we’re doing in these meetings: discovering the Truth about who we are. The Revelation of That is the Truth about what God is, what Life is, and what Consciousness is. Ok?

That’s the subject. Let’s stop here!

Psychological Conflicts. Psychological suffering. Awakening of Consciousness. Kundalini Flourishing

The truth is that what is shown here for you, always, at any level, is what you need. In any area, in any situation, your relationship with life, as it appears to you, is perfect for showing you who you are.

Notice, we have a representation of being, we have a format of being, a way of being; that’s what we are. It’s not the Reality of Being, of Consciousness. This Reality of Being, of Consciousness is the Reality of God present, and not that “you,” in your format of being, in your way of being, which is how you are.

The Revelation of the Truth of Being, the Truth of God, the Truth of Consciousness – and, of course, this is Real Consciousness, Real Being, God present – is something entirely different from this “you,” the way you see yourself, present yourself and show yourself.

The point is that you can't investigate this without relationships. You investigate this and perceive your model of being “someone,” what you are in a relationship… with others, with life, with the world, with work, with thought and feeling that arise. It’s always in a relationship that this duality can be seen. Relationship presupposes I – me, my way of being, of being what I am – and the other, I and life, I and work, I and a task, I and a thought, I and a feeling, I and a sensation. This duality, this separation, can only be seen in relationships.

So, notice how everything is in the right place, everything is perfect! Existence placed you there in that position. It’s the position of the possibility of recognizing the illusion, the illusion of being “someone” in this relationship, of seeing that this relationship is possible when there’s this separation, this duality, and that, without this duality, there’s an end to this relationship. It’s when Consciousness, Truth, God, Being, whatever you want to call It, shows itself to be your True Nature.

Is it ok?

In general, we want to change our relationship. What have we done? When you fulfill me in this relationship, that fulfillment is the fulfillment of my “I.” This “I” is fulfilled because you fulfill me. While you fulfill me, while you satisfy me, you give me something, you are my friend, what you are doing is helping me to continue in this illusion of separate identity, of duality, in this relationship with you.

It’s curious, we call it love. The one who fulfills us, who satisfies us, who gives us something, we say we love, and the one who doesn't like us, who doesn't fulfill us, who doesn't care about us... either we’re indifferent to him or her, or we want them far away because they don't satisfy us; and, in fact, they are also still helping us in the sense of continuing to be this illusion we believe we are; that is, an ego, a “person” sustaining a relationship of egoic identity.

In other words, friends and enemies are doing the same for us: keeping us in the illusion that we are “somebody,” that we have him or her cooperating with us, in a negative way being an enemy, or in a positive way being a friend. So, those who love us or hate us are part of our illusion: the illusion of our identity since they only exist… They only exist because this duality, which is sustained by the ignorance that I am “someone,” is present.

So, the sense of “I” is present and sustained because there’s no investigation of this “I” in this relationship… this relationship with people, I repeat, with nature, things, places, thoughts, feelings... It’s always the idea of “my feelings,” “my thoughts,” “my friends,” “my loves,” “my enemies,” “I and my things,” “I and my world” … Pure egocentrism! Pure, pure, pure egocentrism!

The perfect egoic identity in a relationship – which is the absence of Truth. If you love me, I hold your hands – and “loving me,” here, means “fulfilling me.” If you stop fulfilling me, I let go of your hands and sometimes even tell you to leave, because I need someone to hold my hand. That is, I need someone who loves me, appreciates me, values me, someone who gives my ego an identity of appreciation. This is psychological dependence, suffering in the short, medium and long term, being sustained. This has nothing to do with Love.

So, we are in a perfect position to discover the Truth about what we are. So, the people that Existence puts around us, the situations that occur to us, the places where we live, the work we are busy with, that Life destined us to do, all this has its place when I understand that I need it to discover that I don't need any of that.

These relationships are important because they are where I can see myself, see this “I” that I believe I am, this “I” with which I mistake myself for, the truth of this “I am” … What I am, in this relationship, is an illusion, but it is the truth of what I am. I can only discover the illusion of what I am when I assume the truth that I am this; it’s paradoxical, but it’s just like that. If I can assume the truth that I am envy, desire, fear, and that I am psychological and emotional dependence, and that this relationship has nothing to do with Love, but rather with lack, the need for self-fulfillment, which, in turn, is the real cause of jealousy... it’s not because the other makes me jealous, it’s because I am jealousy! Do you see? I'm jealousy!

The problem is that I live in this condition of psychological, emotional, sentimental, romantic dependence… That’s the reason, the cause of jealousy! It’s not what the other does or does not since the other only exists because I'm sustaining it; this “I” sustains it.

Is this strange or can you follow this here?

It’s the sense of the “I” present! What you’re listening to is something totally contrary to everything you were taught and brought up to believe. All this because there’s no self-observation in relationships, that, in this relationship, the game is the game of fear, desire, dependence, of seeking fulfillment, of the “I,” it’s the ego, the behavior of this ego-identity wanting life to be, for it, what it wants, what life needs to be – self-projection.

This – listen to this – is the reason for human dissatisfaction. You’ll always be unhappy as long as there’s this egoic self-sustenance of being “someone,” remaining “someone,” around which life must happen – egocentrism, the illusion of the sense of separation. And you can only see this in relationships.

When you wake up in the morning, the first thing you do is go to the mirror. You can't get out of bed and go out like that; you're going to scare everyone! Isn’t it? You go to the mirror. A lot has happened; your face is not the same as it was at night. So, you go to the mirror, the mirror shows you. Self-awareness is the simple vision of who you are in the mirror of relationships. It has nothing to do with the mirror! Don't blame the mirror! No, don't blame the mirror, don't change mirrors! We’ve been trying this, trying to change: we change husbands, boyfriends, we change… whatever we can change… children, we can’t change, but what we can change, we change. We keep changing and, when we do that, we change the number six for half a dozen or change “seis” [number in Portuguese] for “six.”

So, looking at what we are, seeing this, without running away, without running away... This issue of running away is also important. We have several means of escape from psychological pains. Notice what I’ve said: they are psychological pains. It has nothing to do with the mirror, it has to do with the psyche, with the sense of the “I” present, with this “me” that I am. You’ll change mirrors. You can even... The attempt to psychologically get rid of someone; trying to get rid of someone psychologically is like breaking a mirror. You break the mirror, but you’ll always come across new mirrors and you’ll always see yourself in these new mirrors. So, there’s no point in breaking mirrors.

Thus, our point here with you is this: there’s no way to get rid by trying to get rid of it. This issue of running away from the experience… We can run away, but running away is not the end for the “I,” the “ego.” People want to get rid of fear, anxiety, depression, and of that person in the relationship.

Psychologically, what I was able to discover is that when we deal with psychological issues, we don't get rid of them, we can't get rid of them. We can look and, in this approach, perceive the end to this psychological condition of being “someone” in this experience. That’s the end of fear, of anxiety, of this relationship; psychologically, that’s the end of suffering.

It has nothing to do with the other, with the mirror; it has everything to do with that “I.” This is how we have to discover what it is like to deal with psychological suffering, psychological conflicts, psychological pain, or pains. Therefore, running away doesn’t solve it. Someone may eat, someone may drink; and others, smoke, have fun, or date. Each one goes looking for something to temporarily get rid of that situation or frame. But that frame isn’t external, it’s internal. The situation isn’t outside, it’s inside.

Thus, our work together here is to show you that the Truth that is You, the Reality of your Being, is in Communion, not in a relationship. It’s not about the relationship anymore! The relationship with work, a family, a boyfriend, with activities is a Communion, and when there’s Communion, there’s Joy, a new energy takes possession of you. It’s not a tiresome thing. You don't get bored in your relationship with work, with the other, with the thought that arises, with a feeling that arises; it’s something, in fact, fascinating to observe yourself, to perceive life happening without an identity present: a thought, a feeling, an activity arises, a challenge… The relationship with the other is the Joy of Being Consciousness because the sense of “I” isn’t present. Then, everything is new! It’s not the subject of this speech, but everything is new, everything is new, everything is new! Because there’s no longer a relationship, there are no two, it’s just Communion.

Life is a relationship, indeed. However, this relationship is no longer psychological, it’s just a relationship. This relationship, which is life happening naturally, is Communion, Love, Intelligence, Joy, Peace, and Freedom. This is the Presence of Being, of Consciousness, of God.

You see, it’s not that “you” how you are anymore, not that “you” you appear to be. Now, What is present is Being, Consciousness, God, and Truth. When the sense of “I” is not present, there’s no other, anymore. That’s the Awakening of Consciousness, the Kundalini Flourishing, the Presence of Truth, whatever name you want to give it; it’s Liberation, Enlightenment, Awakening, Truth, the absence of the “I,” the True Meditation… it’s Life!

Ok? Look at this and let’s live This. Ok?

The beauty of Self-awareness | What is Truth? | Unhappiness | Who are we?

You cannot be happy living someone else’s life. We don't understand ourselves, we don't observe ourselves, we don't study ourselves, we don't know who we are, we don't know who we present ourselves to be, how we present ourselves to be, how we seem to be in our life in relation to people, with the world, with ourselves, and we don't even know the truth about the other. We are weaving theories.

We want to know who is the best among us so we can follow suit. Who was the best among us…

We have this religious bent, for example; if the ideal of virtue, purity, morality, spirituality develops within us, then we want to know what Buddha has to say, what Christ has to say, what Ramana has to say.

We're not looking at what we're saying. We want to know what Buddha did, what Ramana did, what Jesus did. We are not looking at what we are doing with our lives, how we feel, what quality of thinking we have, what feelings and actions we have. There is no Self-awareness.

Always studying yourself in this contact with the external world and with this internal world – what happens inside is the internal world, what happens outside is the external world –, looking at what we are, perceiving this, understanding this… Not what someone did or said or what kind of thoughts they have or had about life, but what is happening with ourselves, with ourselves right here and now.

Our goals, our purposes, our dreams, our desires always have, as a principle, as a basis, the example of others. What another did, we want to do; what the other has achieved, we want to achieve; what the other said, we also want to say; what someone else has been feeling, we also want to feel.

We don't realize how envious we are, how much we copy, imitate. We don't have a word of our own, a thought of our own, a feeling of our own, we don't have a move of our own. That’s because we believe we need examples.

This is based on a very false basis in our culture: the illusion that someone can teach us something, someone can give us an example, someone can show us something. And we alone are not able to see that. This is our mistake.

When there is a direct approach to Self-awareness, we begin to discover, by ourselves, in ourselves, what suits us, what is real and what is not real, without this model of envy, of trying to imitate the other or to follow someone. We look at A, B, or C, we believe he is happy and we need to be happy as he is happy. First, we don't know what the Truth of Happiness is in us, but we have the ideal of happiness, because we believe that this one or that one is happy – this is something false, absolutely false!

It is contact with What we are here and now that gives us a vision of what Happiness really, truly represents for us. It has nothing to do with the other. The other may seemingly be in happiness because of our wrong and mistaken perspective. The view we have of the happiness of others, based on the confusion we live in, is a false view of happiness.

The human being is ambitious, he is envious, he lives in an unconscious way and does not know what he is actually looking for. We are looking for a single one “Thing”: the Intelligence, the Truth, the Wisdom that we carry within ourselves. This is enough to show us what the Truth of our life is in this relationship with the world, with all things, with others.

When there is Wisdom, when there is Intelligence, when there is Truth, you don't need to follow, you don't need to copy, you don't need to imitate, you don't need to idealize a life similar to that of A, B or C. The Truth of your Being, the Truth of your Real Nature is Intelligence, is Freedom, is Consciousness.

A question arises, doesn't it? What will make you happy? What will give you Peace? What will freedom give you?

Those who have conquered something externally or done something or left a legacy, are they really of interest to us? Is it worth for us looking outside? The work of Self-realization is to look at “you,” not what is out there.

People look for inspiration in others, but they cannot live off inspiration, example, the model of others. Inspiration in someone else’s model is just an inspiration, it is not Realization. Your real interest in Truth should be Realization and not inspiration. So, this model of external inspiration is a mistake, an error.

It’s important for you to look at what you are here and now. And when you do that, you leave the models, you start to learn from yourself, you start to realize what makes you unhappy, what makes you sad, what makes you dependent, what makes you fearful, what makes you discouraged, which makes you unenthusiastic, without joy, without freedom. You look at yourself and you see it here and now. You're not going to look at a model out there and try to be inspired to motivate yourself, to objectify, to have from this example, this model, a path, a direction. You will look at you!

The beauty of Self-awareness – and, here, Self-awareness is staying in that “look” at what I am without any model, without any idea, without any belief, without any goal, without any need for inspiration… look at what you are here and now.

We don't do that! It is very important for us to understand what is being said here.

Most of humanity lives these internal states of unhappiness, and we have countless internal states of this type; they are innumerable! They have several names: depression, anxiety... They are present because we do not look at what we are, at what this “I,” this “me” represents. Why don't we look into it? Why don't we look at all this? Because we always have a way of looking and mirroring ourselves, or seeking to mirror ourselves, in something outside. So, we are always in this alternative of running away from what we are, because we now have (this is totally unconscious, of course) … we now have an ideal, a purpose, a goal, a dream. We don't realize that we are just running away.

There is no Intelligence, there is no Freedom, there is no free action when we, at first, do not understand the present unhappiness, the present pain, the loneliness, the melancholy, the sadness, the boredom, the bitterness, the negativity, the pessimism, the psychological restlessness, the inner chatting happening within us.

If we don’t know to see this, to run for an objective model of external achievement is completely meaningless. And people want to achieve something outside before they understand who they are here and now. Then, to feel motivated, they go to lectures of self-help, consult books to find motivation, enthusiasm, how to achieve their projects…

All we need is to look at what we are here and now, clear this first, coordinate this, understand this pain of this ego identity, which is anxious, worried, envious, fearful, and unhappy. So, I keep asking the question: What will make us happy? What will make you happy? Is it an external achievement, like a blanket over this bitterness, over this pain, over this suffering, over this unhappiness? We put material fulfillment coverage on movable, immovable property, and put sentimental fulfillment – it’s a “new love,” if such a thing exists. We take a blanket and put it over the illusion of the “me,” the “I”, the ego.

I want to invite you to go beyond this “me,” this “I,” this “ego,” to understand the Truth about Yourself here and now, and not to put a blanket of external fulfillment over all this pain, this pain of being” someone,” that pain of mediocrity of being always attached to motivation linked to egocentric purposes, desires and fears. To realize the Truth about Yourself is to understand the Truth of God. The Understanding of God’s Truth is the end of needing a blanket of external fulfillment to be happy.

So, what is Happiness? It is the Realization of That which is You. So, what will make you happy? Absolutely nothing! Your True Nature, your Real Nature, doesn't need anything to be happy. So, questions like “how can I be happy?”, or “what will make me happy?”, “how to make my dreams come true?” All these questions are completely absurd! They are all based on the illusion that you are someone who needs something that will come one day; it’s absurd!

It will never come, because nothing has gone! Even things which already have left your life, you haven't let them go, you are still holding on to them. Psychologically, internally, you continue to cling to your small world of apparent fulfillments which never brought you Happiness; they are gone and you still miss it.

So, we don't let anything go, because nothing went away and nothing will come! As long as there is, as long as the illusion of “someone” present in us, here and now, remains to be, to do, to accomplish or to cease to be, to undo, to abandon something, illusion will be present, ignorance will be present, and that is lack of God, lack of Truth, lack of Happiness.

All right, guys?

So, what is Reality here and now? Not “what will make me happy?” or “what do I need to let go of to become a happy person?”, “what do I need to get rid of?” It’s not what you need to get rid of and it’s not what you need to achieve that we're talking about here. We are talking with you about the freedom to understand yourself in the context of everything that is here and now, which You are not. It does not increase who You are, nor does it diminish who You are.

Wanting to get rid of, for example, fear, guilt, loneliness, that sense of existential void or abandonment... wanting to get rid of it won't make you happy! Because who is it that wants to get rid of it if not the state itself? And achieving something to replace one of those states won't make you happy either! Because who is this that wants to move to achieve something?

People say “you need to be brave!” For what? To put courage in place of fear? Who is this that needs courage? And why does he need the courage if he has no fear? And what is fear if not courage in a new guise? From courage to fear, from fear to courage: we remain in this condition of duality, in this misunderstanding. “I am unhappy, I need to be happy.” Who is this that is unhappy? Who is this that wants to be happy? And what is it to be happy? What is it like to be unhappy? What does it mean to be “somebody"? The question is, “Who am I?”

Master Ramana Maharshi dealt with this in a masterful way. When you went to him, he would ask you “who suffers?” “Master, my wife died.” He [Ramana] would say “yes, and?” He [disciple] said “I am suffering!” He [Ramana] asked “but who suffers?” “My wife abandoned me.” He [Ramana] would say “who has been abandoned?” Then the person said “I.” “Who is this ‘I’?”

We, here, are working to end the illusion, the illusion that there is a world out there that is hostile, or that there is a world out there to make us happy. OK?

This is the subject here with you.

Ramana Maharshi, Eckhart Tolle, Krishnamurti. The end of the search. Positive Psychology: Flow State.

When realizing that everything is routine, when realizing that everything ends in boredom and in some form of dissatisfaction, human beings look for something. There are two strands here: the first are those who look for that “something” in things… in things, in places, in objects, in people; they are those who have a non-religious bent. And there are those who are looking for that “something” in religiosity. Something being sought in the world and something being sought outside the world.

Some of you have heard of it, and nowadays it’s very popular. It is the question of this philosophical line that seeks to approach this encounter with something outside this routine context, this common context, this context of repetition. They point to the possibility of living happily by learning to deal with the world: how we react to the world is something that depends on the quality of our thoughts, our ideas, our beliefs, and it is how we react to the world, to situations in life, the way how we react to it, depending on that quality of thought we bring, that will determine whether we will be happy or not.

This is called stoicism – the pursuit of happiness within a philosophical principle.

So, for the philosopher, the encounter with a certain quality of life, of harmony of life, of peace, of happiness... I am not sure what is meant for happiness within this context, but it is something like a kind of psychological adjustment, mentally, to this condition that presents itself. This we call happiness: a mere adjustment to a given situation, depending on the quality of thought we have. That’s called stoicism, and people nowadays are into it, they're crazy about it!

So, this is a path to happiness within this principle, this search still for something in the world. Added to that, we have psychology, which also goes along a path telling you that it is possible for you to achieve that peace, or that happiness, or that “thing,” that “something,” by changing your thoughts.

So, within psychology, we have several other strands. There is, for example, positive psychology, which speaks of the “Flow State” as a state in which the mind and body are in tune, in harmony, in non-conflict, in non-contradiction with life as it is shown.

So, let’s, through a psychological discipline, through a psychological technique, reach… let’s achieve this, let’s work to reach this condition of this so-called – within positive psychology – “Flow State.”

So, it’s the search for something outside of the routine, outside of the ordinary, stress, this pain that human beings have been facing, have been living for millennia, along this path. So, it is the search for something still in the world, in the world of objects, in places, in people, in accomplishments or in frustrations.

Realization within this challenge in the world, having this approach of searching for something outside of this condition by psychology or philosophy – this is one strand. The other strand is the religious search. Then there are those who are looking for something not in the world but outside of the world – it is the religious search. And the religious quest is to connect to a certain official religion. You spend a period of time to try to find that other thing searched, sought by you, which, within religion, is called Truth or God.

No one knows what That is, but everyone uses the expression. One imagines something about it, as in philosophy itself one imagines something about truth. In religion, one imagines something like God. It’s an idea, it’s a concept, it’s a belief. Nobody knows what that means, what it really represents.

But on Google, the most popular word, which is the most searched for, the most looked for, which is the most studied, which is the most known, is the word “God.” There is a lot of competition because everyone is looking for, everyone wants to know and everyone researches, and everyone teaches about it. So, the use of the word “God” ... So, in religion, there is this search. So, you look for this thing called “truth” and “God” within that religious quest, and it doesn't get resolved. Internally, you are still an anxious, worried, stressed, bored creature, living in a state of internal confusion, which only you yourself know.

You try to share this with a mental health professional and he prescribes some medication, he prescribes a new technique of therapy, psychotherapy, or indicates some changes in behavior, but it doesn't resolve either. And here we are, the human being… all of us here, looking at this. Since it is neither found in the world, in this search for that something in the world, nor is it found in this search for something outside the world… This search for something in the world is materialism, it is existentialism, and there are many names for it. And in spirituality – this is what this quest for religious life is called.

And, after all, what are we looking for? That’s the question. What are we looking for? Those who have seen – not those who have found it, but those who have realized it – the end to this dilemma, the end to this confusion, the end to this boredom, to this boring state of life, where you go on living despite all the achievements in the world or achievements out of the world – still the situation continues... Those who found it, no; those who have verified, in themselves, the end of that, the end of this search for something there or on the other side, on one side of the river or on the other side of the river… those who have realized This give us their testimony.

There is Ramana Maharshi giving us his testimony. There is Eckhart Tolle giving us his testimony. There is Krishnamurti giving us his testimony, and there are countless others who have realized the end of it, the end of the search. How does this search end? How does this quest end? You know what we are saying here. Some of you have already been married more than two, three times… So, a man is a desire, a woman is a desire, but also a house, a very beautiful house, dreamed of, with the furniture of dreams. This is all a desire! We all know what we're talking about here.

We keep changing houses, we keep changing husbands, we keep changing wives, and we acquire, over the years, through an arduous effort, a struggle, a strong struggle for these achievements, through great self-discipline … study a lot, a few years at college, then a doctoral degree, then a postdoctoral degree, a master’s…

After long work, long struggle, we achieve all of this and realize that we keep changing. So, let’s emphasize this a little bit more here so we can go ahead with you.

But there is an end to that, there is an end to this search for what is outside and there is also an end to this search for what we believe is inside. Son, the ones in the wing of those who are looking outside say it is outside. Part of this movement of how to react to life, which is still psychological, is still outside there. If it’s something that depends on this “me,” this “I,” this “you,” then the idea is that something is outside, it’s something outside that you have to deal with. And there are those who say it’s something inside, that you'll find something inside, and then you project an image of something inside: it’s the Divine, it’s the Supreme Being, it’s the Higher Self… So, there are the shadows and the light. Light is the Supreme Self, the Higher Self, it is the inner God, which we have been hearing about since childhood.

But all this is still part of an idea, it is still part of a belief. And then, after you dedicate yourself for many years, you realize that the thing has not been resolved. Desires and conflicts still remain. You've fulfilled one wish, but another soon follows. You have a husband, but you see the husband of the other, more handsome one... This is an internal complication that you have to deal with, because, then, you find out that it wasn't the lack of a husband; then, the mind says it’s about changing husbands! And so we change religions, change cars, change houses, change God – it’s because we believe first in one, then believe in the other, and it never ends.

And what do the Sages, the Realized Ones, have to say to us about this? What is missing? Is something really missing and that’s why there is this search? How does this quest end? Does it end when we find it or does it end when we realize that the seeker element is the problem? Is it the lack of something in the material world or in the spiritual world? What is really missing? Is it a lack of something or is it an excess of something?

The Truth is in realizing what is already here, not something to be added to what is here and now. It is not a matter of what is outside or what is inside. Reality is the Realization that this illusion, the illusion of duality, is indeed an illusion. We face duality as a fact. Yes, it is a subjective, psychology fact, but it is not a fact of Reality. Let’s clear this up.

We deal with the world by being “someone,” seeing ourselves as “someone,” feeling like “someone.” So, there is this dissatisfaction, there is this incompleteness, there is this state of contradiction, of conflict, of suffering, which compels us to seek… “pushes us to seek” – but who? That sense of “I” in each of us.

So, this world outside is a psychology fact; this is a psychology fact. It is not a Reality! It is not a Reality, but it is a psychology fact. We need to find out how to deal with it, with this psychology fact. This psychology fact is what sustains the suffering of human beings, as I said just now: boredom, this sense of routine, repetition, continuity, feeding new expectations of a better future, of better fulfillment, of a better house, of a better desire, of a desire that will fulfill...

All this happens because of this psychology fact, which is a fraud from the point of view of Reality. From the point of view of Reality, there is no such thing! The fact is... from the point of view of Reality, the fact is: Life is what It is, and It is complete when this subjective condition, when this psychological fact condition, which is this duality condition, disappears. That is the Truth! It’s no use quoting Jesus, Buddha... We have to discover this for ourselves, which is this illusion of the sense of “someone” present dealing with life, which will continually sustain this search for something always on the outside, to see oneself complete. And that is impossible, because conflict is the nature of duality.

As long as there is this duality, there will be conflict; as long as there is a sense of “I,” as long as there is this “I,” there is the other to be desired, there is something else to be pursued, there is the idea of God, which is just a belief, an image. We are not denying the Reality of God, we are denying the idea of God. The idea of God is a concept, a belief. It’s like looking at a card in the deck and saying, “Here’s the king.” No, not the king! This is a figure, an image, an idealistic representation, it is not reality. Can you take the deck and find the king of diamonds, the king of clubs – is that it? –, of hearts and spades, but the king is not there. You look at a chessboard and you also find the king. What is the real king? Where is the king?

This is how we represent God or Happiness: as an ideal. So, it is not possible to find Happiness neither in positive psychology nor in what is understood by “Flow State.” My vision on the Flow State is completely different. The Flow State is the Natural State of Pure Consciousness, where there is, in fact, no separation between You and Reality, but it is not the state that comes and goes, as proposed by positive psychology; it is the Natural State, where the sense of “I,” of “me,” the ego, is no longer present.

So, neither by positive psychology, nor by the philosophy of the stoics, in stoicism. The Reality of Happiness is not a belief, it is not an idea, it is not a concept. We can talk more about that. This is experiential when the sense of duality is no longer present. And what is needed for this to happen? The end of the seeker! The seeker’s end is surrender, the surrender of the illusion of a present identity – that is surrendered, that is given up. You surrender yourself, you are truly in His Hands, you are surrendering, you have stopped resisting, you have stopped fighting.

So, this is very basic, it is very simple to understand that Life is Omnipotent, Truth is Omnipotent, the Unknown, which someone calls God… I call “The Unknown;” I would call “The Nameless One” and sometimes I call him God, but He is the Most Powerful! So, if Life shows you that something is out, something has to be surrendered, something has to be given up, something has to give up continuing... and that understanding remains because of this Birth of a New Mind, of this Intelligence, which is based on Self-awareness. Then it’s simple we understand what surrender is. You will surrender, you will surrender, you will give up the illusion of this “me,” this “I,” this ego.

So, when that ends, when that disappears, then You, in your Natural State of Being, of Pure Being, are no longer looking, neither outside nor inside. That’s the end of the ego, that’s the end of the “I.”

For this surrender to occur, the vision of Self-awareness is necessary, and Self-awareness is not possible if you do not self-observe. It’s no use to keep searching! This quest has to end, or you'll keep searching for the rest of your life! It happens in materialism and it happens in spiritualism.

In spirituality, people search for the rest of their lives and remain unhappy, they continue to suffer, they continue to feel incomplete because it is the presence of the ego in them. So, it’s no use in accomplishing something in spirituality; there is also no point in accomplishing something in materialism.

So, it doesn't work! It does not work! As long as there is a sense of separateness, whether in spirituality, whether it is positive psychology, whether it is stoicism… as long as there is a sense of separateness, the illusion of “me” is there, and the fallacy, the lie, that something will make you happy. Nothing will make you happy! The presence of this “me” is the absence of Happiness. It’s no use listening to it, it’s necessary to look, observe, become aware of it here and now. This is real surrender, this is real surrender of this “me,” this “I,” this ego. OK? That’s right!

Spiritual growth. What is spirituality? True Individuality. What is happiness?

In general, we have some beliefs about what spirituality is, right? And it’s a good question: after all, what is spirituality? Another question is: how to attain spiritual growth?

The search of human beings, over time, has been for something beyond what their life has been: a rather tedious, boring, annoyed life, [with] a few brief moments of pleasure, satisfaction, and joy. You experience joy the day you get married, the day your first child is born, the day you pass an exam, the day you start your first job, the day you find your first girlfriend, your first boyfriend... So, we have these big and memorable days of joy, and the rest of life in a lot of complications.

A wedding day is joyous, but 10 years after the wedding, [you] are not so happy, as if something happened over time. The first day of a first job is wonderful, but after 10 years in that job, the routine, the salary situation... all that is gone, all that perfume of joy, of temporary fulfillment, in that given achievement, is no longer there.

So, there is a search by human beings for something beyond that, beyond that thing of first dating, marriage, or even first marriage, because, sometimes, there are several marriages in a row, the children come, then comes work...

Hence, there is something beyond that. So, there is this search: the search for spirituality. And, after something is found, here comes the question: how to grow spiritually? What is spiritual growth? And we have to understand that.

The goal in life, here, is Happiness. But, after all, what’s Happiness? What’s spirituality? How to attain spiritual growth? After all, what does all this represent?

The way I see is that the most important thing is, really, to discover what Happiness is. It’s not figuring out how to be happy. The question is also very common: how to be happy? The idea that one has is “I found Happiness.”

We are going to come back to this subject, but first I want to delve with you into something so we can get there. We'll come back to this point in just a moment. First, I want to look, to approach, to investigate with you, this idea, this idea of “me,” because it’s always the “I” involved in all this: it’s the “I” becoming spiritualized, getting married, having kids, having the first job, finding first love, first date, having the first wedding... It’s always “me,” this “me” element. The “I” is this entity, this “me,” this “person.”

When I say, “Who are you?” You answer: “Oh, I am so and so”. Hence, first comes this pronoun, then comes the definition or explanation of who one is. So, the idea of “I” has to be understood.

“I,” basically, is self-consciousness; self-consciousness is the “I.” The consciousness you have of who you are is the “me.” We must have an understanding approach. I’ve just talked about what Happiness is. If we understand this issue of the “I” clearly, we’ll solve all these other issues: spiritual growth, spirituality, what Happiness is... In short, we just need to discover this: what’s the “I"? What is this consciousness you have about who you are? Let’s call this self-consciousness now, this self-consciousness.

This self-consciousness is basically memory. We don't have much to say about this self-consciousness. Your life is organized, planned, orchestrated, and established in memory. Memory is basically your story, your identity, your feelings. In addition: feelings... What we call love in our relationships is linked to feelings of affection, kindness, care, treatment, good treatment with the other, but these feelings... along with them, there are other contrary feelings, such as indifference, neglect, mistreatment, lack of love, jealousy, possession.

So, when we talk about memory, we also include these feelings. Therefore, what is this “me”? Memories, memories of images, remembrances, words, knowledge… memories also of feelings this “I,” which I believe I am, has in relation to the other in the world, in life.

Now, we include the issue of this spiritual “I” here. So, when talking about spiritual growth, the idea – which is also just a thought – is of an “I” that will grow spiritually, will evolve spiritually, will become spiritualized. Is it possible?

Can we take memory and make it sacred? What’s memory? Tell me what memory is. Memory… You know when you see a bonfire, a big fire and, in the morning, you go to that bonfire and what you find is ashes? That’s memory. The fire was yesterday, the memory is here and now, like these ashes. Vitality and life, the presence, the heat, the energy, the power, and the vivacity were yesterday; what we have here and now are just the ashes.

Let’s spiritualize this! Is it so? Notice the illusion within philosophy, psychology and religion. Notice, I'm not attacking this, I'm looking, perceiving with you a very simple thing: the “I,” this “me,” this ego, this identity, are the leftovers of a bonfire. Life is something happening here and now; what is registered is memory.

We’re not going to spiritualize this. It is impossible to make Divine, Sacred, what is not fire, what has no energy, no vitality, no vivacity, no reality. Are you with me? This is the “I,” the ego.

Then you come and ask me “how to grow spiritually?” or “how to realize spirituality, something beyond this life, this boring, tiring, monotonous, routine life? How to go beyond this temporary joy of a first marriage and the birth of the first child? How to go beyond that?” Because our life has become just that. So, you say “what can I do? How can I spiritualize myself? This “me,” this “I” … There’s no way! It’s like taking ashes and making a fire from it. Is this possible? Is it possible? Ashes are ashes, ashes are ashes… We take the ashes and spread them over the earth. We can’t make fire from ashes.

The Reality of your Being, of that Consciousness, that Divine Nature You carry within You, which is within You… that Reality is asleep. So, what do we have in our lives, in our relationships? This is what explains a tedious, boring, annoyed life, with different expressions of egoic unhappiness. Don't you know about the egoic unhappiness? Worry is unhappiness. When there’s Happiness, there’s no worry. Attachment is unhappiness. Jealousy is unhappiness. Envy is unhappiness. When there’s Love, there’s no jealousy, no attachment, no envy; when there’s Peace, there is no contradiction, no conflict, no suffering. But This is not present, because what is* present are the ashes of this “me,” this “I.” And we want to change it into something else, we want to make it something else, we want to change it.

Now, let’s touch the point here: What is Happiness? We’ve just gotten back… What is Happiness? That’s the question: what is Happiness? Happiness is discovering the fire and abandoning the ashes. If I need heat, energy, vivacity, brilliance, light, power, I need fire; I abandon the ashes and approach the fire. This fire is Enlightenment!

Will it be the reason why they gave this Awakening of Consciousness the word Enlightenment? Because light reminds us of vivacity, energy, power, fire. When there’s Happiness, what is present is this: Vivacity, Light, Power, Love, and Peace. The point is that Happiness is not for the “I.”

So, when we talk about spiritual growth, we have to clear this ground right away, we have to abandon that imagination of a spirit or an “I” to become spiritual. When talking about spiritual evolution, this idea of time has to be removed since in the idea of time we have the belief of an identity to evolve.

Here, Consciousness is timeless. Reality, which is Truth, God, can’t be in time, can’t be part of time, part of history. Consciousness is something that transcends history. Truth is something that transcends history. God is something that transcends history. Happiness is something that transcends history, something outside of time. It’s in time we find the ashes and the past. Our relationships are conflicted, disoriented, disturbed, distressing, with those brief moments of pleasure, satisfaction and joy, when something externally happens and “me,” the “I,” the ego feels very fulfilled, and soon after, boredom again, tiredness... You know what I'm talking about!

A honeymoon is wonderful, but it’s only a night or two, or three, and that’s it! Ten years later there’s no more honeymoon! If there’s a moon, it’s a waning moon, one of those well... already disappearing; you hardly see any sign of a moon there, let alone honey in the moon. There is not! It’s already gone!

Our life is full of ashes in that “me,” that “I,” that ego. Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening, the Truth of your Being doesn’t need to evolve, It is already timeless. So, here we’re not dealing with spiritual evolution, but rather about the Recognition of your Timeless Nature, of your Nature that carries a new perfume... every moment, a new perfume and the next perfume is also new!

When there’s Love in your life, you’re visiting the office for the first time. You've been working there for 10, 15 years, but if there’s that perfume, which is Love, Consciousness, the Presence of Being, the Presence of God, the office is new. After 10 years of marriage, looking at your partner without images, which are the ashes of a relationship where what exists are only images of mistreatment, harsh words, neglect, emotional, physical, sexual exploitation … when all this disappears – and this disappears when there’s Presence, Consciousness, when there is that perfume of Love – when looking at her or looking at him, there’s no longer “someone” looking at “someone.” It’s not that the other has changed; there is no “you"! Do you get this?

People will advise each other and ask each other, “What can I do?” They go to the therapist, to the marriage counselor, they go on retreats to appease the egoic fight, between egos, they try to save the relationship, resurrect the dead, and it doesn't work well. It adjusts, adjustments are created, right? There are some tricks to renew vows, all that kind of stuff you know, but it doesn't work!

Here I deal with something else; I deal with the end of the ego. The ego of the other is the end of the ego here. If my eyes are new, if my heart is new, I Am who I Am! And this “I Am” is not that “I;” it’s something else in this I. I’ve called this “True Individuality.” For the first time you are Consciousness; it’s only when you really are an individual.

That’s the end of this erroneous, mistaken, false, illusory individuality of the ego, which remains in this clement demand that the other change so that it can be happy. This doesn’t happen! The other will not change! The other is who he is! But when, here, your Natural State, the Truth of your Being settles, your Life is Beauty, Truth, Enchantment, Light, Fire, Heat, it has no ashes, there’s no past.

When people ask me “and the issue of death?” … There is no death when there are no ashes! When you know, you discover what it’s like to live free from the ego, this “me,” this sense of illusory identity. There’s no sense of separation and therefore there’s no fear, so there’s no death!

Human beings are concerned with death; they study about death and afterlife. It’s always the sense of “I” worried about tomorrow. When there’s Love, which is Real Life, there’s no tomorrow, no future, no death, no afterlife. Life is that Fire, Vivacity, Joy, that Freedom. This is Enlightenment because the ego isn’t present.

It’s strange what I'm now going to say to finish: when there’s Happiness, there’s no sense of being happy. I'll end by saying this now for you, the most important thing, I'll say it now: cultivating humility gives you the illusion of the idea of being humble. There’s nothing humble about the one who feels humble. The cultivation of love… There is no Love in the one who cultivates love, because when there’s Love there’s no sense of “I.” If you feel humble, it’s just “your” humility, only others can recognize this “your” humility. How humble are you? When there’s Real Humility, there’s no sense of being humble; when there’s Love, there’s no sense of someone loving; when there’s Kindness there’s no sense of someone kind. All this is the ego, “me,” the illusion of the “I.”

True Spirituality is the end of theoretical, conceptual, credulous, bookish, intellectual spirituality. True Spirituality is being what You are, without any idea of being. Do you get that?

Let’s finish here. Just look at it, look at this... Never mistake ashes for fire. This is possible when you realize What You Are, here and now; and it’s only here and now. Ok?

That’s all!

Psychological conditioning | Psychological suffering | Kundalini | The illusion of individuality

Ok. So, let’s go! The point here is the need for the understanding of the “I,” that “me.” After all, what is ego? What is the “I”? What is this “me”?

When you refer to yourself, you always use the expression “I.” It’s important to now say that we have this idea, this belief. In these few minutes with you here, we’re going to investigate and explore this matter: the matter of the construct of this “I,” and how it is constructed. This “I” that you believe to be… how was it constructed? We’re going to talk to you about the ego, which is this “I,” and Self-awareness.

Where does Self-awareness come in? Why is the understanding of this “I,” this ego formation, important? After all, what is ego?

Notice that it’s very simple to see this. Our experiences, all of them, left us remembrances, memories. When we go through experiences, we register them and they start to become part of us, as a memory, as a remembrance. It has been like this since the cradle. We record it, and these records are very particular, they are records for each one of us, of this particular brain, this particular body. Then, they’re particular memories of private experiences.

Thus, whatever memory you have is really intimate, it’s private. And, as this pronoun “I” is a matter of culture, linked to identification, you identify with yourself as being “I,” and, for the other, as this “I” with a name and a story.

So, that’s basically it. The sense of “I,” this identity we assume, is a set of experiences stored in this memory format. Every reference you have about who you are is within those memories. This is the sense of “I” that thought idealizes, and feeling and body sensation convince you that this “I” is present.

Here, the fact is that we’re dealing with an illusion: this is the illusion of individuality. We have a particular experience of memory, of remembrance, of story, but the consciousness of that individuality is an illusion. Consciousness is an element outside memory, remembrance, and story.

When a person has a neurological problem – if, for example, the person has an accident – a part of that memory in the brain can be deleted. And yet, even without that memory, the sense of illusory identity is still present. Thus, this illusory identity is also shown as something beyond these very remembrances and memories.

So, here, we are already seeing another aspect of this “I.” The biological, neurological inheritance, the inheritance of this organism also carries this sense of “I,” something ingrained in the very cells of the body. That’s interesting. The body is a memory and the cells carry all this memory.

How can we go beyond this illusion of this individual consciousness? The illusion is that in this memory, connected to the body, the cells of the body, and the story of experiences we go through since childhood, forms a whole called consciousness, which I’ve called mental consciousness. Our consciousness is this consciousness. We identify this mind consciousness with this illusion: the illusion of this individual consciousness.

The work of Self-awareness is the one that will show you that there’s something present outside of that mental consciousness, that illusion of individual consciousness, that “I.” The Realization of the Truth about Yourself is the end of the illusion that you, as a separate entity with an individual consciousness, exist.

Dealing with the particular memory of that body is simple. The difficulty we have is dealing with the illusion of this individual consciousness. It’s in this illusory individual consciousness, which is this mental consciousness, that this whole pattern of cultural and psychological conditioning of the ego, of this “me,” is located.

You need to see this. Not like that: intellectually, with words; you need to see this within yourself, this element of this illusory individual consciousness loaded, as it is, with everything that humanity has and represents. Psychological suffering is part of it.

You are here looking at this because something in you has already started to awaken, it has already warned that there’s something beyond this condition of mental consciousness and being born, living, getting sick, growing old, and dying. There’s something beyond this suffering condition within this egoic consciousness. There’s something beyond this fear, despair, confusion, violence, this disturbance that our lives have become throughout all this time in history. We only have a few decades, but humanity has been there for millennia, living in this scheme, in this model.

So, what’s Spiritual Enlightenment? What’s Spiritual Awakening? It’s the end of this illusion, the illusion of the sense of “I,” “me,” of ego; the end of the illusion of this personal individuality; it is the end of this condition of suffering, despair, fear, violence, and unhappiness.

Our job here is to understand that. People want Enlightenment, they want Awakening because they idealize that, with Awakening, Enlightenment, they’ll be happy and have peace, love, and freedom. What they don’t realize is that what they call happiness, peace, love, and freedom is still an imagination, created within that context of the ego itself, a projection of that egoic consciousness.

I have something to tell you: when there’s Happiness there’s no sense of “someone.” We can see it! The moment you’re happy, you don’t feel happy. It’s only a few moments later that a thought arrives and says, “How happy I am!” That’s not the presence of Happiness; it’s the presence of a happy individuality.

So, notice how curious it is, how the ego takes anything and defiles it. In the moment of joy, there’s no feeling of being happy; there’s joy! It’s only a few seconds later that thought comes: “How happy I am!” Or someone asks you, “How are you?” “Oh, I am happy!” You’re not happy anymore! And why aren’t you happy anymore? Because the sense of “I” is present. It’s corrupt: it comes and corrupts joy; it’s a fraud! The sense of “I” is the sense of ego.

So, when people say: “I want Enlightenment, the Awakening, to be happy”, they are projecting a happy “me”; “I want Enlightenment to be Wise,” they’re projecting a wise “me”; “I want Realization to be Realized,” they’re projecting a realized “I”; it’s still a projection of the ego!

Notice how interesting this is. When people say: “I love to meditate,” what are they saying? They’re saying they don’t know what Meditation is, because the presence of the meditator is the absence of the True Meditation. Because, what’s Meditation? It’s the absence of egoic self-consciousness. What is Meditation? It’s the absence of the consciousness of the meditator. And what’s Enlightenment? It’s the absence of the sense of “someone” present.

When someone says: “My Kundalini has awakened!” notice: it’s the sense of self-consciousness of someone who has an awakened Kundalini – this is a fraud, an illusion, a fantasy, this is imagination! Because, since Kundalini is pure Consciousness and Consciousness is the absence of self-consciousness, of egoic consciousness, the presence of awakened Kundalini is the absence of the “I.” The presence of Meditation is the absence of the meditator; the presence of Enlightenment is the absence of an enlightened “someone”; the presence of Peace is the absence of “someone” feeling peace, speaking of peace, and declaring peace to the world. It’s like when people say, “I feel the presence of God.” When God is present, there’s no you! The sense of ego disappears, it vanishes.

The Reality of God is a very Real Presence. It’s not something that stands parallel to an experiencer; it can’t be experienced by “someone.” The Presence of God is the absence of “someone.” The Presence of Love is the absence of “someone” loving. “I am full of love…” You are full of feeling, good intentions, affection, tenderness, and kindness, but that’s not Love.

So, notice how important it is to investigate this matter of the “I” and where it hides itself. In the wonderful moments of our life, the “I” is there! The “I” is loving, sympathizing, doing charity, sharing kindness…but it’s the “I”! And the “I” is within that limitation, that system of beliefs, images, memories, remembrances, and experiences.

So, the kindness I can do is the one I’ve learned, and what I’ve learned is still part of the ego, it’s part of what I was taught. And when we speak here of the sense of Pure Consciousness, we speak of the end of the illusion of an individuality loving, happy, free, intelligent, wise, meditating... We speak of the Natural State of Consciousness, What You are in your Being. And when You, in your Being, are present, there’s no you as an individual consciousness.

How can we see this? How can we understand this? By self-observation. So, when someone says or idealizes: “I want the Truth,” the mind immediately projects an ideal of “Truth,” a belief of “Truth,” of what Truth represents. “I want God,” then the mind projects something. “I want Enlightenment,” the mind does the same.

And all this is still dealing with a memory, a story, a psychological conditioning, in which the mind believes and projects into the future, while Self-awareness is to perceive this sense of the ego, this self-identity, projecting the future based on the past.

Everything we represent as separate entities, as people, is a representation of our past – with all good intentions – projecting oneself into the future. Then, this is not effective here. Our contact with Self-awareness puts us in direct contact with the True Meditation, and when there’s True Meditation, there’s no “someone” meditating. When there is Self-awareness, there’s an end to the illusion of knowing yourself, in the sense of recognizing yourself as a separate entity. Here, Self-awareness is to realize the illusion of the separate identity, of this “I,” this “me,” this ego.

Is everything ok?

Meditation is the end of “someone” meditating; Self-awareness is the end of “someone” recognizing oneself. The expression “self-awareness” used in psychology and philosophy is curious – we don’t use it in that sense here. So, I’ve already heard the expression: “I need to know myself because I have to improve as a person, I have to become a better person, I have to work better, produce more, then, I have to relate better with my family…” So, the search for this “self-knowledge”, in psychology, is for personal development – the sense of a person developing. This sense of person is self-consciousness, individual consciousness, the sense of “someone” present in the experience of living.

Our work together is to discover that this “someone,” this “person,” doesn’t exist; discover that the Nature of Being is not self-conscious. The Nature of Being is Consciousness, outside of that sense of an “I.” This is Love, Peace, Meditation, God, and Wisdom, but there’s no “someone”… There is no “someone”!

The expression “Self-realization” … All these expressions… we have to approach [them] carefully because it can’t be “someone” realized. Self-realization is the Realization of “not someone,” the Realization that there’s no “someone.” Enlightenment is not “someone” enlightened. People ask, “How can I become enlightened?”

No one wants to deal with death, but without death, there’s no New. And, as the Realization of the Truth is the Awakening of the New – the New is the Unknown – then there’s no point in reforming the old. We’re going to modify the old, we’re going to transform the old, but the old being transformed is still the old modified. So, enlightened “someone” is still “someone” enlightened. What kind of light does “someone” still have?

The New is the Unusual, the New is the Unknown, the New is out of time and therefore out of the possibility of transformation and change. The New is the New; it has nothing to do with the old! This is Spiritual Awakening, Spiritual Enlightenment, or Spiritual Realization.

So, understanding the illusion of the ego is the end of the illusion of the “I,” of that self-consciousness. This is possible when the death of the past, which is the “I,” the ego, this “me,” takes place. Here, I refer to this psychological death since physical death doesn’t work. Throughout human history, many people have died, and dying is just changing clothes, that means absolutely nothing! The change of clothes is just an apparent new outfit for a declared old body. Then, you change clothes, but the body is old. Such is the egoic mind.

So, the Truth about who You are, is the beginning of Something New, Unknown, Something arising within a discontinuity, because there’s no time present; there was a break.

This is our subject here. Ok? Let’s stop here. Ok?

Let’s work on it! Namaste.

The Awakening of Consciousness, Enlightenment. Advaita Vedanta. Non-Duality. Self-investigation.

This work proposes – and that is the purpose of the channel… This channel… in it, we are working with you on the Awakening of Consciousness, Spiritual Enlightenment. And why the Awakening of Consciousness? And why don't we know why? Because we are sleeping.

We don't know the Truth about who we are, the Truth about what Life is, the Truth about who God is. We have theories, we have beliefs, we have different explanations about who we are. Look at how all these explanations, realize that all these explanations, all of them, are based on memory, on acquired knowledge… acquired from society, acquired from the world, acquired from other people.

We don't have a real vision, a direct answer about who we are, because we don't know… really, we don't know what Life is about, who God is about. We have beliefs, we have theories. We have what philosophers have said, what theologians have said and are saying. We have the theories that the books report. Someone has read some books and tells us what they read in them. Those who wrote these books, in turn, heard it from others or read it in other books, and then wrote their own.

So, we always live in a copy of a copy, of a copy... Psychologically, we are copying our parents, our grandparents, great-grandparents. We carry in us everything they had, everything that they have. Everything that our ancestors experienced, we are now living in our time, in our generation. We are a continuity of the past, of all this culture, tradition, education, human evolution, biologically, psychologically. But what is the Truth about who we are? Who am I?

That’s what we're talking about here on this channel. This set of ideas, beliefs, opinions, concepts, remembrances, memories, different knowledge, on different themes and subjects, all of this, today, is part of this collection, this accumulation, this memory. Without that memory, who are you? Without the story you can talk about who you are, all the memories you have about yourself, all the concepts you have about these different matters, about yourself, about God, about life, about the world, about the other... The question is: who am I?

Here, we are working with you on the Awakening of Consciousness. Why Awakening of Consciousness? Because Consciousness, in human beings, is something unknown. We know what it is to be conscious, but we don't know what Consciousness is. We divide this “being conscious,” which we call consciousness… we divide it into consciousness and unconsciousness. We divide this word “consciousness” – which we don't really know what it is – into conscious and unconscious.

So, everything that we carry within us, which is the result of all this human culture, all this history of thousands and thousands of years, today is part of this so-called unconscious in us; and what we present here in the peripheral part, on the periphery, on the surface, which is not something internal, hidden, but something more apparent, which is now showing itself here, we call conscious. That surface part is the conscious; the hidden, the veiled, is the unconscious. So, we divide consciousness into conscious and unconscious.

But, notice, we are always using this expression with only one meaning: we are talking about a block, one consciousness, which I have called mental consciousness. But I ask you: what is Consciousness? Real Consciousness, True Consciousness, not mental consciousness, which encompasses the past, which, in fact, is essentially the past, the whole human past, the whole human history’s past, and the whole personal, individual, particular past of each one of us. What is Consciousness, That which encompasses waking, dreaming and deep sleep?

Here, we are investigating with you the Nature of the Truth about who we are, and the point is that the Truth about who we are is the Truth of our Being. The Sages have called it Being-Consciousness-Bliss. So, this is very clear: that, here, the word “Consciousness” is not that consciousness of being conscious, it is not that consciousness where “unconscious” and “conscious” are present. Here, the word “Consciousness” is something that transcends the body, mind and world, and the experiences of waking, dreaming and deep sleep.

The real approach to This represents the end of all this confusion that has become our lives in relation to the world. And why has our life become such a big, awful mess, even though we don't want to look at it, recognize the truth of it? We are human beings, confused, fearful, anxious, worried, ambitious, greedy human beings. There are many lies, there is a lot of fear, there’s a lot of desire, there is a lot of confusion. We try to stifle it with different escape mechanisms for this pain, for this suffering, because all of this represents suffering.

The Awakening of Consciousness is the Awakening of your Being, which is the Awakening of Happiness. That is the Nature of Truth about us, about who we are here and now. This life of struggle, search, denials, approach and distancing, frustration and fulfillment, fear and desire; this life in duality, between this notion of wrong and right, of good and evil, of what is real and what is not real; these states of inner confusion; this is all part of this mental consciousness – I have called it the egoic consciousness.

It is not Real Consciousness, which is Being, which is Happiness. Here, it is about the periphery, the superficiality, what we identify with and show ourselves to be, but it is not What we are, or what “we are” because we show ourselves to be that. Yes! Envy, fear, desire, ambition, depression, anxiety, anguish – this is what we are, because it is what we show ourselves to be.

Here, we are pointing you to the opportunity to go beyond what we have shown ourselves to be, to the Truth of what we are in our Real Being. This is not what we seem to be conscious of, but it is the Truth. We are pointing to the Truth of being Consciousness, pure Consciousness, which is Happiness.

Therefore, our work of Self-awareness, which is when we approach and look at what we present to be, which is what we are in our relationships, creating all forms of turmoil, confusion, disorder, suffering... Through Self-awareness, we can look at it, we can perceive it: our selfishness, our partialities, our beliefs… Yes, partialities shown to people, our beliefs, our prejudices, our pride, our presumption, our way of relating violently to ourselves, victimizing ourselves, victimizing ourselves all the time, our violent way of treating ourselves, others, and what is around us.

It is always from this false center, this “I,” this “me,” that the whole problem lies. It is always from this egoic consciousness, this mental consciousness, that our relationships unfold conflicted, afflicted, suffering.

The invitation, on this channel, is for the Realization of the Happiness of your Being, for the Understanding of the Truth of God, which is Being, which is Consciousness, which is You in your Real Nature. Without that, “you” are the problem; this “me,” this “I,” this “ego, this “person” that you get confused with, identify with, see yourself in, is the problem; it is the problem that unfolds in problems; it is the problem that asserts itself in an afflicting, problematic life.

Is the end to all this possible? Is this Realization of True Consciousness possible, which is Being, which is Happiness? This is the Advaita approach. Advaita is the Vision of Non-Separation; it is the Vision of Non-Duality.

This is the subject here on our channel. This is straight from Advaita Vedanta, the last part of the Vedas, which is about this Truth, the Truth that there is only God, there is only this Consciousness, and It is the Absolute Source of everything, of all Beauty, of all Provision, of all Grace, of all Love, of all Freedom, of all Happiness.

So, Spiritual Awakening, the Awakening of Consciousness, Spiritual Enlightenment... These are the different names given to this Natural State that you assume when you are living the Truth of your Being, which is Consciousness, Real Consciousness, and True Happiness.

Thus, our work consists of, through self-investigation, getting closer to Self-awareness; not Self-awareness techniques, not Self-awareness practices, not what is known out there as Self-awareness, but what we deal with here on the channel in a very specific way, making use of the expression “Self-awareness.” We have a playlist here on the channel dealing with this.

So, through Self-awareness, we get closer to the true approach of who we are. This reveals the True Meditation in living, in practice, then we find what it is to let go of, to get rid of, to discard from ourselves the illusion of this “me,” this “I,” this false center, this ego.

So, we are facing the Flourishing of Truth, Wisdom, Compassion, Freedom, Happiness. So, we are facing Reality, the Truth for which we were born; we are facing the Truth about who we are here and now; we are aware of the Truth of what This is or what it all represents. Let’s no longer say “I suddenly landed here,” as if saying “I don't know what I'm doing here, I don't know who I am, I don't know what life is, I don't know who God is.” OK?

This is the subject we deal with here on the channel. If that makes sense to you, leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel… I want to remind you: we have online meetings, face-to-face meetings and also retreats, where we are working on this together with those who approach us. OK?

Thanks for the meeting and see you soon.

What is life? Advaita. Vedanta. Ramana Maharshi. Spiritual Enlightenment. Kundalini Awakening

The question is: where is the Truth? Where is the Truth? What is the Truth? Is this question for a theologian to give us the answer? How about a philosophy professor? A priest linked to a certain line of spirituality, to a certain religion? What is Truth? Where is God? Who am I? What is life? There are so many questions! Who can answer?

Is it possible for you to look inside yourself and, upon perceiving this internal movement taking place within you – here I am referring to this movement of restlessness, dissatisfaction, desire, fear, worries… There are many fears and endless questions inside. Is it possible to look at ourselves and find, in ourselves, an answer that is a final answer to all of this? An answer that answers all these questions, all these questions? Where will be the end to this confusion? What is suffering? What is desire? What is fear? Returning to the central question: who am I? Where did I come from? What am I doing here?

Note that all these questions are born out of restlessness. There is no Stillness, there is no Serenity, there is no Peace, because there is no Freedom. So, we don't have Love present, we don't know what Happiness is. Here we are talking, dealing with the Awakening of Consciousness and the Truth of the Awakening of that Energy, that Power, that Presence, which is available to each one of us.

Here, I refer to this Kundalini Power. Kundalini is another word for Consciousness, the Real Consciousness in you. Here, I do not mean this mental consciousness. For example, we are here aware: you can hear, you can see, you can feel… This is possible because of that consciousness. But in deep sleep you cannot see, you cannot hear, you cannot feel, and however, Consciousness remains present; but there is no conscious “you.”

So, let’s work, in this video, on that. After all, what is Consciousness? It seems to me that the answer to that question is the answer to “who am I,” and that shows us this Energy, this present Power, which some call Kundalini and others call Consciousness.

This is a language among the sages in India. They call this Consciousness as Kundalini; this Kundalini they call Consciousness. Ramana Maharshi said “Consciousness, Kundalini and God are different words for the same Reality” – these are the words of Ramana Maharshi, the Sage of Arunachala.

The Truth about your Being is the Awakening of Spiritual Enlightenment, it is the Awakening of Consciousness, which is the Kundalini Awakening. When That is present, You are Consciousness, the same Consciousness present in deep sleep, in the waking state and in the dream state.

In general, in this mental consciousness, in this personal consciousness, we only know this consciousness of hearing, speaking and feeling. Here, I am inviting you to pure Consciousness, To That which transcends this speaking, this listening, this feeling, That which transcends the waking state where what we call “being conscious” appears.

So, there is a difference between being conscious and being Consciousness. Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening places you in this new situation, which is to be Consciousness, in this new condition of pure “being Consciousness.” That pure “being Consciousness” is Bliss. Being-Consciousness-Bliss is the True Nature of each one of us, it is What we are. This is beyond this “being conscious,” being able to hear, speak, feel, move in the waking state, or in the dream, and disappear into this “unconsciousness” in deep sleep.

In general, we know waking, dreaming and deep sleep. In deep sleep we are unconscious; in the waking state we are conscious; and in the dream state we are conscious – it is mental consciousness. In fact, there is no difference between the waking state, which is what we are living, and the dream state. In the dream, we also have contact with the world and never doubt the existence of this dream world while we are dreaming. Here too, in vigil state, we have contact with this waking world and never doubt the reality of this world. This is because of this mental consciousness.

We are identifying ourselves with the body and mind and therefore have these numerous questions that we asked at the beginning of the talk. We have all these questions because of this restlessness. Restlessness comes from not knowing the Truth about who we are.

We do not know ourselves. We are always confusing ourselves with thought, with knowledge and with experience. And knowledge, thought and experience are nothing but memory, they are nothing but memory. All of these are memories, they are remembrances.

Our life is based on thought, which is time. This is because all the experiences we go through are photographed and archived within us. And what is that? This is thought. And that’s basically what? Thought is memory, so thought is time.

We spend thirty, forty, fifty, sixty years of our lives living a vigil life, a dream life, a deep sleep life, but a life basically in this state of identification with the sense of “somebody” present living all of it.

That “someone” is a belief, an idea. You believe, for example, that you are listening; being conscious, you are here listening to this speech. Because you are conscious, you believe that you are someone seeing this image now, these gestures here. You are falling into a prank. The brain is producing these assimilations; they are the brain’s reactions to these impressions of images and sounds, and thought is telling you that “someone” is present in this experience – that “someone” is the “I,” the “me.” And yet the only real thing going on here is a single phenomenon. This phenomenon is the phenomenon of Consciousness.

It’s not being aware, being conscious, someone aware. Here I refer to that Consciousness which transcends the very phenomenon of sound, sight, body, mind and all experience in the world.

This might sound really weird, or a little weird, to you, but I wanted you to look at it with a little bit of a different appreciation. In general, we are very intellectual and want to apprehend things intellectually. Here, I want to invite you to experience the Truth of that Real Consciousness that is You in your Being. That’s the way for you to get beyond this prank, go beyond this very funny thing. A prank is a funny thing! And here it may seem strange: we are living a great cosmic prank, a great divine joke. We are in front of Reality, which is this Consciousness, playing with all these apparitions, with all these phenomena.

So, This… One, Real, True… The only present Reality is the Truth that does not separate. It unfolds in all these phenomena, in all these experiences; It unfolds as body, mind, world, waking, dream, deep sleep; It unfolds into someone talking and someone listening – this is not the Truth; the Truth is that there is only One Consciousness present.

The Awakening of this Consciousness, which is Kundalini Awakening, is the end of the illusion of the sense of separateness, of duality. So, we are facing the Reality of Being. Here, the expression is “Advaita,” the Non-Duality. This is straight from Advaita Vedanta.

Here, I quote the expression “Advaita Vedanta” only as a reference. You will not reach, understand and experience It by reading books, studying Upanishads, Scriptures. You have to discover It experientially.

And, here, I want to invite you to get to know closely what Meditation is, Real Meditation; here I refer to the True Meditation. Here, on our channel, we have a very intense playlist working on this, showing you what the True Meditation is, what I call the Real Meditation – in practice, experientially.

So, you can realize the Reality of your Being, but your Being is the Being of God, the Being of Existence, it is the Being where there is no separateness. When there is this Kundalini Awakening, which is the end of the illusion of the sense of separateness, this great divine trick is revealed, this great Truth of God, then Life is Joy, Beauty, Love Truth, and Laughter.

All this is strange, because, when looking through the eyes of this egoic consciousness – which is an ideological consciousness that judges, compares, evaluates, that sees from this condition of being inside the prank –, when looking at the world, the look from the viewpoint of this “I,” this “me,” this ego, is a look of contradiction, of conflict, of suffering, of anxiety, of fear, of desire, many desires, and countless questions. But, when you Awake, Awake to the Reality of your Being, you can look at it all and see the great divine play, the Truth of God present. This is the encounter with Happiness, with Being, with Consciousness.

Note, this is the subject that we are working on, within the channel.

This is the only answer to all these questions, to these countless questions, to this apparent complexity, to this psychological complexity that our lives have become within this condition of ego-identity.

If this is something that makes sense to you and if your purpose is to Wake up in this life, to go beyond this illusion, this dream, to be able to look and see the great game and relax in this Happiness of being Consciousness, leave your “like” on this video, subscribe to the channel... I want to remind you that we have online and face-to-face meetings and also retreats, to work on this together.

It’s OK?

If that makes sense, see you in the next one.

Thanks for the meeting!

Thought and time | The Psychological Conditioning | Spiritual Awakening. You are Pure Consciousness

Our subject is “thought and time.” We are facing a subject I consider extremely important for all of us here within this channel.

Our meetings are to show you the possibility of realizing the Truth of your Being in this life, the Truth of who you are.

The idea of being someone, living inside the body, with a story, is a concept and a belief. Here, I refer to the Reality of your Being, What You truly are. And we have to understand this matter of thought and time since our life revolves around thought and time.

Notice what we put here for you. Since we were little, what we have most intimate within us is this process of thought. This is never separate from each one of us. Ever since we were little, we think, and thoughts are running through our heads. That’s how we feel: the thought inside the head, circulating.

We live in ideas, for ideas, we move by ideas. Ideas tell us things about this story we say is ours. Your name is a thought within you, your parents’ names are thoughts within you, and the mental picture of your relatives is thought within you. Right now, if I ask you where you live, you will only get one answer, and that answer will be thought in you.

So, there’s nothing more intimate than thought, it’s in everything in our lives; it’s thought and time. When were you born? How old are you? Where did you spend last year’s vacation? What time are you going to have lunch? What did you eat for breakfast?

Note that time is everywhere, the notion of time… What did you do yesterday? What will you do tomorrow? What do you expect? Notice, time is in our lives all the time. Then, we have thought and time. But, after all, what is thought, and what is time?

Your age is a report of time; your story is a report of thought and time. Another curious thing is that time and thought cannot be separated. So, our life is made up of time and thought – what we call life.

When you dream at night, thought is there and time is there. Now here, in the vigil state, thought is present and time is present.

I want to tell you something: you need to approach and find out experientially, non-theoretically, non-verbally, non-intellectually... not verbally, not intellectually, not theoretically but rather experientially. I want to tell you that thought is time and time is thought. All you have to say is a time report and a thought report. Every thought describes what is within time. Our life is the result of thought, which is the result of time.

In this speech here, for example, we use the Portuguese language. If you don't understand Portuguese, in this video we have English subtitles. So, with English, it’s possible to understand this speech. It takes place here in Portuguese and it’s translated into English, subtitled in English. This speech is born from the knowledge of words in Portuguese and this knowledge of the English language makes it easier for you to understand this speech, which is here in Portuguese.

So, notice: thought is time because thought is knowledge, and knowledge is the result of memory. Knowledge is memory and memory is time. So, thought is knowledge, knowledge is memory, and memory is time.

You take a certain amount of time to learn a language because that’s part of the time. Knowledge is part of the time. Our “person’s” story – which we believe we are – is time, thought, story, memory, and remembrance, which is time.

After all, is it possible for us to realize the Understanding of the Truth outside of time? Because What is Real is not established in the known. That’s the challenge: to discover Truth experientially, in practice, not intellectually, but rather the Reality of your Being, which is not in time, not part of memory, not part of thought.

The body is part of thought. Your nose is a memory: it’s the same nose as your grandfather, your great-grandfather, so your nose is part of time, which is thought, it’s within a story. The objects we see around us were all built by thought, so they are all part of time because they were all born of knowledge.

So notice, knowledge, thought, time, and memory – this constitutes our life. But is this our life? The question here is: who are you? Are you the body, this set of thoughts, memories, and remembrances? Cells are full of memories and remembrances, which are the result of time. Everything in this world is an appearance that disappears, hence, it’s part of time, it’s within time. Is there something beyond time, beyond memory, beyond knowledge?

The Realization of the Truth about your Being, Spiritual Enlightenment, and the Awakening of Consciousness, shows you the Truth You are, as Pure Consciousness, here and now. This is out of time. A life free of time is a life free from the limitation of thought, knowledge, and memory and therefore from change. Everything that is part of time is changing, therefore it has no permanence, it has no Reality, it’s not Real; it’s “real” only in time.

Here, we’re pointing You to the Truth of Your Being, which is Consciousness, out of time. The Divine Reality, the Reality of God, the Reality of your Being is timeless. It’s outside of time and space, so it’s timeless and non-spatial. The Truth is What shows itself here and now, there’s no other Reality. The only Reality present is the Truth of God. So, all we are living, experiencing, living, or going through, happens only in time; it’s not the Truth, and it’s not the Reality.

A Free Life is a Life that is timeless, non-spatial, free from time and therefore free from successions of change; free from past, present, and future; free from thought, which is time; free of time, which is thought. So, the Truth about your Being, the Truth of your Divine Nature, your Essential Nature, is Love, Peace, Freedom, and Happiness, is God. This is now!

Is it possible to have the brain attending to matters of thought and time, but without mistaking oneself for, without getting tangled up, and without sustaining an illusory identity in this “thought and time” experience? Is this possible? In other words, is it possible to live free of the ego? Because that ego is that sense of an “I” present in that “time-thought” experience.

That ego is the one that lived yesterday, is living today and moving towards tomorrow. All the ideas inside your head – notice this – are part of thought and time, therefore, they are part of… This is all part of this egoic identity. It’s not your Being! It’s what thought says you are.

So, for example, we have a thought happening in us and, when it happens, it tells us we are thinking this thought: this is not true, it’s not like that. Thought doesn’t happen because you create it or produce it. There’s no “you” as the thinker of that thought.

Notice that thought appears, but there’s no “you” producing the thought. If you could produce thoughts, you wouldn't produce thoughts that you don’t like, that make you suffer, which bring you the past and produce anxiety, sadness, anguish, and regret. They come from the past and produce the future, creating anxiety. They come from the past and in the present cause regret for the past. Thought appears, you don't make it appear, don't produce it.

Thus, there’s an illusion. Thought produces the illusion of a thinker, of someone present, this “me,” this “I,” this ego, this identity producing that. And of course, when thought creates this illusion, it creates the illusion of an “I,” a “me,” an ego. It’s only when the ego exists: when thought appears and you are identified with thought, you mistake yourself for the thought. You create and sustain an identity when thought appears, then the sense of ego appears.

Thus, we are living psychologically, internally, in this condition – what I’ve called psychological conditioning – in this trust, in this belief of a present identity, which is living today, lived yesterday and will live tomorrow; which accomplished something in the past, is accomplishing something now, and will accomplish something tomorrow.

So, for this “me,” this “I,” this ego, there’s the past, the present, and the future. Notice: all this is being produced by thought. Thought is the cause of this, it’s the “truth” present in that experience, and thought is time, and thought is knowledge, which is memory, remembrance, past and has nothing to do with Reality.

The sense of a present “I,” a present ego, is an illusion produced by thought. Are we together? Is it possible to get rid of this illusion, the illusion of being here as someone, someone who came from the past, who is here in the present and walks towards the future? Can we discover Life here and now, free from the sense of a present “I,” since this “I,” this ego, this sense of identity, is nothing more than memory, thought, recollection, and history that thought constructs? Is it possible to get rid of this or do we need to continue like this? Do we necessarily need to continue this way? Do we have to continue this way?

The question for you is: can we get rid of this sense of “someone” present in this experience since this illusion is a production of thought alone, which is memory, knowledge, and the illusion of time? The Realization of your Being, Spiritual Enlightenment, is the end of the illusion of the sense of “someone” present.

So, the invitation to Spiritual Awakening, to Spiritual Enlightenment, is the invitation to Happiness, Love, Peace, Freedom, to the Awareness of the Truth that You, as Consciousness, were never born and therefore cannot die. Only the thought, the body, and the story appear, while You remain as this timeless Presence, here and now. In this Consciousness, the body appears, thought appears, the emotions, feelings, experiences, time, thought… all of these are appearances in the Truth of your Being.

Therefore, this is the subject we address here on the channel. If this is something that makes sense to you, if there’s something “burning” inside you for this encounter with the Truth, beyond this dream, this dream… I invite you. We have face-to-face meetings and retreats, in addition to these videos here on the channel. So, subscribe to the channel, leave your “like” and let’s work together. Ok?

See you next meeting!
