Why do we suffer? | What is suffering? | Escape from psychological pain | True Mindfulness

Alright! We're going to address this matter of suffering. Why do we suffer? That’s a question. Or: what is suffering?

Note one thing here: it’s always “someone” in the experience of suffering. If you are abandoned, rejected, if a relative dies, or if you lose something, or don’t fulfill a certain purpose, certain objectives, certain goals; if somehow you are offended, hurt, suffering is there!

Suffering always needs the “sufferer,” so we always have two things present: the one who suffers and what produces suffering for the one who suffers. So, we always have two things present in suffering.

Suffering doesn’t exist by itself, it exists with “someone,” for “someone;” it happens when “someone” is present. So, notice how interesting is the question “why do we suffer?” We ask this question because: do we want to get rid of suffering, to see an end to suffering, or because we want to solve the problem of suffering? In general, our question is intended to get rid of suffering.

Here, I want to invite you to understand what suffering is, because this is another question. So, before the question “why do we suffer?” we have to ask “what is suffering?”

Suffering is the presence of physical, emotional, psychological discomfort; it’s a psychological pain. Our inclination is to run away from this pain. We want to ease, we want to lessen, we want to escape, to get rid of it. We are not willing to look and verify if an end to suffering is possible.

The end to suffering is what interests us here, in this meeting. And when does the end to suffering occur? When we don't try to explain, run away, escape, or free ourselves... when we recognize that the main element in suffering is not the one who makes us suffer, it’s not what is producing the suffering, but it’s the one... the one in whom the suffering is happening.

For whom is this suffering? Suffering is present because of the one who feels that suffering. This one who feels is the “I,” the “person,” the ego. When you are abandoned, it’s not the abandonment that caused the problem called suffering, but rather the present identity, this “me” feeling the lack, the loss, the loneliness, the pain of being alone. This is the real cause of suffering: the identity of the “I,” the presence of the “I,” the present sense of the “I,” with its attachments, beliefs, its diminished sense of power; it’s always the sense of “I” present in its self-image, which is injured, offended, hurt, for having been rejected, for not having been loved as it expected, desired, as it wanted; it’s the sense of the ego, of the “I,” of “me.”

So, why do we suffer? Because there is an identity present in this experience, in a relationship with the world, expecting, demanding, seeking something from it. This movement is the movement of the egoic mind, of egocentrism, it is the sense of “I” present in the relationship with the world, with the other, with life, which suffers.

So, this psychological suffering, this discomfort, this pain… Over the years, we have become experts in running away. We have several escapes from these psychological pains, always to escape, to alleviate, to explain, to justify to ourselves the presence of this suffering, and we never approach to look at it closely, to go beyond it.

In these meetings, we are working with you on the end of suffering, and the end of suffering is the end of this duality: the one who suffers and what makes him suffer. When this duality comes to an end, because the sense of “I,” of the ego, of this “me,” of this image you have about who you are… when this vanishes, when this disappears, suffering ends. That’s the end of suffering!

Therefore, it’s not about getting rid of suffering. We cannot approach these psychological problems within this ancient and old format, wanting relief, explanation, reduction, liberation, without first having an understanding of what this, in fact, represents, what it means.

These psychological problems, these psychological pains... these various ways of escape from psychological pain... this is what we’ve been doing, this is what we have been doing over the years, and this suffering never ends, because there’s no end to suffering since this suffering implies the presence of the “I,” the ego, of “me,” of this “sufferer.”

The problem with dealing with suffering is that we are always transferring it from this “me,” this “I,” to the object that makes us suffer. We are always explaining, justifying, accusing something, the other and the world for our suffering. The illusion in us says that he makes us suffer; the illusion in us says: “I’m suffering because I lost something,” “I’m suffering because I was rejected,” “I’m suffering because I’m not accepted.” There are a million reasons why we are suffering, and it’s always something outside that causes this suffering.

Looking at the Truth about who we are here and now, realizing that this sense of “I” in its isolationism, its self-protectionism, the search for security, self-preservation of its self-image, seeing that envy, possession, control, attachment, desire and fear are not something created by what is outside, but by this, by this background of conditioning we carry within ourselves, which presents itself as this “I” …

When we start assuming this, looking at this “me,” this “I,” we stop looking outside, we stop accusing the external world, pointing to elements external to ourselves as the culprits of this suffering. When we just watch, we become aware of it. This look is enough... When that is present, that suffering immediately undergoes a profound change, a profound alteration.

Notice what we're saying. It’s not introspection, it’s not self-assessment, you're not judging yourself, not comparing yourself, blaming yourself, you're just realizing that this background of present conditioning... it’s when it separates that it sustains this condition of suffering.

When you don't separate yourself from that background, you realize that it’s you. And it’s just you, there’s nothing out there, it has nothing to do with the other. This suffering is no longer a suffering; it is the verification of a present energy. Because now it doesn't separate, doesn't divide itself, so the sufferer doesn't appear. If the sufferer doesn’t appear, it’s just that energy; the suffering is no longer present.

In general, we sustain suffering because we are always, from this background of psychological conditioning, creating this sense of separateness, this duality: “I and what makes me suffer.” Now I can no longer use the expression “I'm suffering,” because there is no longer what makes me suffer, there’s only this energy, this way this feeling, emotion, and sensation present themselves. There’s no longer any form of escape from this psychological pain. It’s when suffering ends since the sufferer ended; we are no longer reinforcing that sense of “someone” present.

In a practical way: when a loved one dies, this is a fact! If there is a pain present, it is the pain, here and now, of attachment, annoyance, revolt, fear of loneliness, fear of separation… I keep with this energy, I stay with this fear. If I keep with this fear, if I keep with this energy, the very expression “fear,” the name “fear,” no longer makes sense; it’s a pain present, a discomfort present. As there’s no longer this sense of separateness, this duality, I can get closer to that, to what I am here and now. It no longer has anything to do with the pain of separation, it has nothing to do with the death of the other, it no longer has anything to do with an image here hurt by someone, offended by someone.

Then, there comes an entirely new energy. This is no longer at the service of this false center, this “I.” Then, there’s a complete change! The sufferer ends, the suffering ends since that sense of separateness, the sense of duality has ended.

This requires Self-Awareness, looking at yourself, at every feeling that arises and not transferring it outward. The feeling is present here, in what I am, because this feeling is what I am, there’s no other, there’s no one, there’s not the world being the cause of it. This is coming from an inner psychological background, and now I can look at this thing. I don't even give it a name. I look at that feeling, that emotion, that sensation, and there’s a complete change; that’s when the end to suffering comes, that’s when the end comes to that “I,” to that ego.

Since childhood, we have acted differently. We were never shown this! We were never shown that the other is an idea within “me,” on which, psychologically, emotionally, sentimentally, I live in a deep dependence – on [their] approval, on [their] rejection… This is the cause, here, of fear, of suffering, and now I’m breaking with that model, breaking with that sense of ego-identity in the experience, in my relationships. Relationships are taking place, but not in this egoic background, in this ego-identity background, where desire, fear and suffering have established their roots, because the sense of “I” is not being reinforced, not being fed.

So, I'm here learning to deal with every feeling, emotion, thought, with whatever is arising here and now, without running away, without explaining, without trying to get rid of it. Then, there comes the end of this ego-identity.

This way of approaching what appears here and now, without placing a present identity in this experience, for any situation, event, occurrence, accident, incident, requires a State of Presence, of Intelligence, which I’ve called True Mindfulness, a quality of Self-Attention, a direct look at whatever is arising without separating from it.

So, we contact Self-Awareness, because whatever is inside, in that psychological background, in that psychological conditioning, begins to reveal itself within these relationships with people, with the world, with the situations around us – that is Self-Awareness.

In this Mindfulness, this sense of “I and the other” is revealed and there’s a break, there’s a break in that, a break in that separateness, then there’s Freedom: the Freedom of Intelligence since your Natural State of Meditation flourishes, which represents the end of suffering, and also the end of fear, desire, and attachments, of the various forms of emotional dependence. This is the end of the various forms of escape from psychological pain, because there are no longer opportunities for the ego to sustain itself in these experiences, separating itself, creating this illusion of “someone” who is suffering because of something else outside or someone, making him suffer.

Do you see what we mean?

This is the subject we are dealing with on this channel. This requires a deepening, a work on oneself. We are doing it here, on this channel, and also in meetings, showing you this – in face-to-face and online meetings, and also, in retreats to work through this together.

This is the possibility of the Awakening of Consciousness, of your Natural State of Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening.

If this is something that makes sense to you, take the opportunity, leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel and let’s work on it together. Ok?

See you!

Life free from suffering. The illusion of individuality. The True Individuality. Non-Duality.

See, there’s a new way of living. This new way of living is free from all these internal complications, which is how the movement of thought takes place, happens, within each one of us. Here, it’s about this movement: thought, feeling, emotion, sensation, and perception.

Contact with the Reality of What is You, contact with the Reality of What is your Being, is the end of this agony, this conflict, this inner state of contradiction, this suffering. This has been called Spiritual Enlightenment – your State of Being free from this contradiction… this contradiction of feeling like you are someone present, having to deal with life, having life as a strange and antagonistic element; in reality, something you have to fight to survive in it.

People use the expression “life is a fight.” No, Life is not a fight! Life is what It is. Contradiction and struggle arise when the particular viewpoint, which is the particular viewpoint of the mind, tries to adjust itself to that immeasurable, that extraordinary and mysterious movement that Life is.

Thus, there’s a new way of living, and this new way of living is free from psychological suffering, conflict, and contradiction, from struggle and this apparent, illusory antagonism with what is, with what is shown here as Life.

So, this matter of the end of this psychological time, this psychological condition, which has been the condition of the egoic mind… Approaching this requires a real vision of yourself. This is Self-Awareness.

Our meetings here… Our proposal is to show you that, through Self-Awareness, you can break with this contradiction, with this illusory antagonism, this apparent struggle, this despair, this agony that has been life for most of us. The Realization of the Divine Truth, the Realization of God’s Truth, is the Recognition of your Being. Your Being is this Real Identity.

You have an idea about who you are. This idea of the person, the individual (you see yourself as that individual) ... that individuality is illusory. There’s no real individuality here, at this moment. This individuality is an illusion.

The Reality of your Being, the Reality of this Presence, this Consciousness, is the Reality of your Divine Nature, of your Real Identity. Your contact with others, your contact with the world, with life, with thought, feeling and emotion in you, this contact... the format of this contact is illusory, because implicit in it is the sense of duality, of separateness. It’s like there’s you and that thought, you and that feeling, you and that emotion, you and the world, you and the other.

The only Reality is the Reality of this Presence, which is neither you nor the other, it’s something that transcends that duality; it’s neither thought nor the thinker, which is the thinker you believe to be with that thought. The one who feels and the feeling, the emotion, and the emotional one – that duality is an illusion. There’s no such thing, that’s not Real. There’s no Reality in illusion, in this sense of duality, this sense of separateness.

Hence, our work together is to show you that a life free from this contradiction, and therefore, from this duality is possible, then, a life free from suffering is presented.

The human being, throughout all this time of humanity, despite drugs and narcotics and all this scientific, technological evolution, and mainly in the field of medicine... Many specialists, analysts, psychologists, doctors, therapists... all of them trying to help us to go beyond this condition of agony, conflict, and contradiction. We have made use of all this type of apparatus, of things, of everything that’s accessible to us today: drugs, narcotics, specialists, doctors, the means, formulas, therapeutic techniques, and yet, suffering, contradiction, fear, all that agony that has been our life continues.

Enlightenment is the end to all of this, the Awakening of your True Nature, the Understanding of the Truth about who You are. If you can see, perceive, that what we have present when thought, feeling, emotion, sensation, the other, the experience arise... if you can perceive that what is present is nothing but the only one Consciousness, which doesn’t separate from Itself to experience…

This idea of the experiencer in the experience is a thought, a belief. Due to the unconsciousness we live, these beliefs predominate, they prevail, and that’s what sustains suffering, confusion, and this internal state of contradiction. When this is present, there’s no Truth, naturally; what we have present is the illusion. In this illusion, we are not aware of Love, Peace, Freedom, and Happiness...

To look at what is going on here and now, at this instant, and realize the illusion of that identity... Then, you become aware, conscious of that illusion – the illusion of a present identity. Then, contact with the True Individuality is possible.

See, we’re talking about illusory individuality, the illusion of individuality, and we’re also pointing to True Individuality. The True Individuality is that in which no subject and object are separated like the experiencer and the experienced thing, the thinker and the thought. This, basically, is the sense of the “I,” the ego… it is the “I,” the ego, the contradiction, the suffering, the agony, the pain. That’s what keeps you in an old way of living, and here I’m pointing out a new way of living. A life free from ego is a life free from suffering.

Life presents itself here and now, as It is. When the ego is not present, there’s no superimposition on Life, and therefore, there’s no conflict, no contradiction, and no struggle. This new way of living is a way of living where actions aren’t born from thought, from a set of ideas, from that background, which is basically the center of all experiences, which is the “I,” the ego.

To this day, your life is based on this old way of life, this ancient way of life; it’s based on that illusory identity, on that false, illusory identity, on the illusion of individuality. This present sense of “I” is the one in contradiction, in struggle, in conflict, because there is this separateness. So, what predominates in this separateness are suffering and fear.

What we call “love,” in our relationships, for example... For us, love is emotion, feeling, and sensation, it’s an approach to satisfaction and fulfillment in a relationship with another – we call it love and to love. Love is not emotion, not feeling, not sensation. Love is not something fulfilled within a relationship. Love is present when the action free from ego is present. Then, what is present is Love, and when Love is present there’s no suffering, no fear, therefore, there’s no conflict; this agony isn’t present anymore.

All this despair in our relationships, which, in fact, are not based on Love, but rather on mutual dependence, attachment, desire, on the search for satisfaction, for fulfillment… We call this thing love and to love. This is full of possession, control, attachment, desire, jealousy, and emotional dependency.

The Truth of What is You, as Consciousness, in this Real, in the True Individuality… And, here, when I refer to this Real Individuality, this True Individuality, I refer to the Nature of Being, Consciousness, Happiness, which is the Nature of God, the Nature of the Truth about who You are.

So, the True Individuality is not personal. It is the Individuality that embraces everything, all Existence, all Manifestation; It is not personal. Here, I refer to that One, Unique Consciousness, not to that personal, particular, individualistic consciousness within the illusion of individuality. I mean that Real Consciousness, which transcends thought, body, mind, and world, which transcends the sense of separateness and therefore duality. That duality, that separateness, is present because of ignorance.

Your Natural State of Being is non-dual. In the Vedas, the expression is “Non-duality,” Advaita – it’s the Nature of Being, of this True Individuality, and Being is Consciousness, Happiness, Love. There isn’t a person in it, there is a Presence in it, a Consciousness in it.

So, your relationship with another is no longer based on a personal, self-centered, self-interested, ambitious, selfish relationship, and therefore, also frightened, scared, fearful, and dependent. So, the Presence of Love is the Presence of this Divine Consciousness.

So, human beings, throughout all this time of humanity, have been looking for ways to escape this confusion, this suffering, this despair, and this fear. And despite various means of help... today they are countless, innumerable, and yet nothing is solved.

This is possible when there is this Presence, this extraordinary “Thing,” the most wonderful of all! Man’s greatest discovery becomes possible when he discovers the Truth of his Being, and this is possible through Meditation – I mean True Meditation, this true approach to oneself through Self-Awareness, through self-observation; then, it’s possible the discarding of illusion; then, it’s possible to recognize this Truth, the Truth of your Being, the Truth of Love, the Truth of Happiness.

Your True Nature is Being, Consciousness, and Happiness. The presence of This is the presence of Love, the presence of Peace, of Freedom. This is the new way of living.

The Recognition of the Divine Truth, the Recognition of the Truth of your Being – that’s what we are addressing here, working with you within this channel. If this is something that makes sense to you, leave your “like,” and subscribe to the channel…I always remind you: we have online meetings through Zoom, face-to-face meetings, and also retreats, where we can work on this together. Ok?

If that’s something that makes sense to you, see you.

Joel S Goldsmith The Infinite Way | Advaita Vedanta | What is Happiness? | Master Gualberto

Notice how human beings are very confused. They have no idea what is happiness. First, they want to find a wish, an accomplishment of a wish, to attain Happiness, however, the point is that a wish doesn’t represent Happiness, nor does a sum of wishes represent Happiness. The only possible Happiness lies in the Realization of God and not in realizing wishes, simply because God is the Source of everything, absolutely everything, everything you need.

Actually, you carry that Reality within yourself, which is the Reality of God. This Reality of God is the Absolute Source of all provision, all fulfillment, and all that is needed in your life. So, a Realized Being lives in the Natural State of Being, which is God. This represents the end of the suffering created by this expectancy, this longing, this yearning to accomplish things in the future, which are wishes and desires to be happy.

The Realization of the Truth of your Being is the Realization of God, the Realization of the end of desires. Everything needed is shown in the life of the one who has Realized God. God is the Supreme Source of Love, Freedom, Peace, Happiness, and Prosperity. And Prosperity isn’t the achievement of things but, in reality, the Realization of the end of suffering, because there is no desire.

The pursuit of achieving by desire is suffering.

Realizing and seeing it being manifested through the Power of this Consciousness, the Power of this Presence is the Realization of God. So, everything manifests itself in the life of the one who is living this Conscious Presence of God.

Joel Goldsmith addressed this very well. All this manifestation of the Presence, all this manifestation of Consciousness, is the manifestation of Grace. The Realization of the Truth of your Being is the Realization of the Source of everything you need, everything needed here and now, at this moment – that’s Joel Goldsmith’s message.

In fact, this is the message of Christ, the message of Truth, the end of the contradiction created by desires, because desire carries this model of contradiction. What you want, that lack, that insufficiency… And here we have a contradiction within this duality: the lack, the insufficiency, creates the desire, but the desire is the very restlessness of that lack, of that insufficiency. The presence of desire is due to restlessness; the desire is the restlessness itself!

Thus, desire creates a contradiction, and there’s no Freedom and no Happiness in desiring. Desiring is suffering. You wish for being happy, but you are already unhappy with the wish – that’s the contradiction of the desire. The desire is to be happy, but, in fact, the desire is the cause of this suffering, this restlessness.

Notice what we're saying. When a wish comes true, you’re not happy because you fulfilled the wish. At that instant, at that moment, which is very brief, there’s a level of inner satisfaction and fulfillment, simply because the mind has become still. When the object of desire has been attained, if it’s attained, at that moment, the mind is stilled from this restlessness of desiring, seeking, wanting.

So, Happiness is something inherent in your Being, and not the achievement of a goal, a purpose, or an accomplishment. All the Source of Happiness, all the Source of Completeness, all that Beauty of satisfaction outside the “I,” outside the mind, is outside of desire, is something that is in What You Are, as Being, as Consciousness.

Thus, the only thing that matters is the Realization of the end for all desires. This is in the Realization of the unique desire. Your restlessness isn’t because something is missing, it’s because the egoic mind is creating an expectation of some external fulfillment. So, it is objectifying things in the world, wanting things from life. That’s the movement of the mind – always externalizing itself, always looking for something outside.

Unhappiness is present because of the presence of the egoic mind, of that unconscious movement, which is the movement of the ego towards externalities; it’s the illusion of the possibility of being happy by achieving something out there. Happiness is something inherent in What You are here and now. Nothing is out of place, nothing is distant or far from What You are as Consciousness, as Being. Therefore, the Realization of the Truth of your Being, in the language of Joel Goldsmith, the Realization of that Inner Christ, the Consciousness of that Inner Christ, of your Divine Truth, of God’s Truth... in It there’s no suffering, no contradiction, no conflict.

Hence, the Realization of God is the only Realization man needs. Then, to the question “How to Realize God?” absolutely nobody has any interest! But, “how to achieve wishes?” ... People seek this, they are looking for this.

When you realize a wish, soon comes a second one, then a third, then a fourth... The very movement of the quest, of search, of intention, this inner restlessness, because something is not here and needs to be achieved, is the very unhappiness of the state of the egoic mind, of that state – according to Joel Goldsmith – of hypnosis.

The human being lives in a state of hypnosis, the human consciousness lives in that hypnosis, and this is the egoic state of consciousness. I’ve called it mental consciousness, and Joel Goldsmith calls it hypnotized consciousness. This hypnotism, this belief, this misconception that something is wrong, this belief in error that something is out of place, that something is missing, that love is missing, happiness is missing, prosperity is missing... this belief in error is due to this hypnotic state of collective consciousness human beings experience. This is present because of this belief.

We must approach the Vision of What we are here and now. The Realization of This is the direct Realization of that Vision. Here, we make use of these speeches, these expressions, we can quote Eckhart Tolle, Krishnamurti, Ramana Maharshi, Buddha, and Jesus Christ, but it is the direct Vision of that Consciousness, which is You, that reveals the Truth.

Words don’t reveal the Truth. The teaching doesn’t consist of words, there’s no way to communicate the Truth by giving verbal teachings or through videos or recorded speeches. This is only possible when you Realize This: God is this Consciousness that is You. The only Reality present is this Consciousness – this is the Vision of Oneness, of that Oneness expressed by Joel Goldsmith.

Also here, on our channel, here together, we’re seeing that what changes is the language, but it’s the same Truth. Christ said: “I and the Father are one. The Father is in me, the Father is in you.” That’s straight from the Gospel, and it’s one of Joel Goldsmith’s quotes in “The Infinite Way,” but it’s the same Truth we've been dealing with here and that’s put forth in the Upanishads, in Vedanta; it is Advaita Vedanta, Non-Duality, Non-Separateness.

The word Advaita means “one without the second.” There’s only one Reality, and that’s the Reality of God as the Source. This is the end of error, of the illusion of error, the sense of separateness, that misconception that is the vision of the egoic mind, that dualistic mind, which sees good and evil.

Thus, our work here together is to realize This, to look directly at that Truth we are, we carry within ourselves. This is there on this wonderful channel “A Luz do Despertar.” We are approaching and working on this with you here on this channel.

These lines point to the same Truth. So, whether you are approaching the vision of Joel Goldsmith on the channel “A Luz do Despertar,” or on the channel called “Master Gualberto,” we are pointing out one single Reality: the Truth of your Being, the Truth of God.

The only true purpose in life is the Understanding that the Reality of God is Life itself and that It is What You are. The Realization of This in this life is the end of conflict, suffering, and desire. The end of desire is also the end of fear. That’s the end of psychological suffering, the end of psychological conditioning, the end of this hypnosis of the mind, it is the Realization of Love, Truth, Peace, and Happiness.

If this is something that makes sense to you, leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel… If you are on “Luz do Despertar,” I want to invite you to discover “Master Gualberto” channel. If you are on the “Master Gualberto” channel, I’d like to invite you to discover the “A Luz do Despertar” channel. With these two channels… in them, we are working together on this issue of Spiritual Awakening, Spiritual Enlightenment, or God Realization.

I want to remind you: we have online meetings, face-to-face meetings, and also retreats to work on this. Ok?

Thanks for the meeting and see you.

What is ego? | Psychological suffering present | The psychological time | Kundalini Energy of God

What is ego? The ego is that sense of the “I” present, at this instant, at this moment, here, within this experience. How do we function when this sense of “I,” which is the ego, prevails, when the ego appears to be the reality of our lives? Basically, in contradiction.

How does this contradiction which is the “I,” which is the ego, work? What we are here and now… we are not satisfied with that. We are not satisfied with what we are. Thus, we want to be something other than that. Then, there’s the fact, that this is what we are – what we are or what we appear to be or what we seem to be here and now, in this relationship with the world, with others, with ourselves – and we have the desire to be different from that. What we are and what we wish to be – that is the contradiction of the presence of the “I,” of the ego, and that is conflict, this is suffering.

All the internal suffering in you, all psychological suffering, all the psychological suffering present internally, in the mind, within us, is present because of this contradiction. So, there’s this movement of contradiction – what we are and what we want to be. There’s no satisfaction, there’s no completeness. Because of this conflict, because of this contradiction, there’s no Love, no Peace, and no Freedom.

Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening, is the end of this contradiction. Then, to the question “what is the ego?”, we have here an answer to the end of this contradiction, which is the end of the ego. There’s another very common question: “how to beat the ego?” or “how to overcome the ego?” Notice, it’s always the idea of “I am this and I want to be that,” thus, I idealize an ego-free state and I project a concept, an image of a completely ego-free state. This is where this idea – as an idea – of Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening exists.

I’m not denying the fact, the Reality, the Truth of Spiritual Enlightenment, of Spiritual Awakening. On the contrary, I’m saying that it’s the only Reality, the only Truth is the Truth of being Consciousness, but you don’t realize This objectifying it based on this contradiction: “I am this and I want to be that,” “I want to become something different from what I am and I’ll fight for it, I’ll strive for it.” It’s not how it works.

When we talk about the Truth or the Freedom of being Consciousness, Spiritual Enlightenment, or Spiritual Awakening, we’re talking about the end of contradiction. The end of contradiction doesn’t come from the desire of becoming something different from what I am, but it’s something that comes from understanding what I am, or what I manifest myself to be, or what I seem to be here and now, in my relationship with the world, with others, with what is happening inside, with myself… this “my” relationship, this “me,” this “I.”

Without an understanding of what this “me” is, what this “I” is, without an understanding of what I am, the Realization of Truth, of the Freedom of being Consciousness, is not possible. Therefore, our work together is to look within ourselves. And it’s important to say this: never in an introspective way, intending to change what is here, so that what is here becomes something different.

So, we come across the misunderstanding of the intention of development for this “I,” this so-called personal development. Here, it’s not about the development of the “person.” Here, it’s not about the end of the contradiction upholding the contradiction. And when we move towards a change from this “I,” this ego, from this contradiction, we’re reinforcing back the contradiction.

This sense of “I,” of the ego, this sense of contradiction, doesn’t become something else. There may be some changes to this “me,” to this ego, but these changes are changes in the ego, still in the “I.” To approach what I am here and now is necessary, observing the movement of the mind, which means observing thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, perceptions… observing my reactions.

If what I have in my mind is a feeling of anger, that feeling of anger is actually what I am here and now. I am angry, that’s what I appear to be, that’s what I show to be, that’s what I am. The idea of something other than this is contradiction itself. The idea of changing this, transforming this, modifying this, is the very contradiction. This is where we come across this duality – what I am and what I want to be. So, at this moment, I’m running away from this objective fact, from what is appearing here, what is emerging here, putting an ideal on top of it, a purpose on top of it. This contradiction is a waste of energy.

We need time to do this. When we speak of the psychological experience, of what arises here internally, there is no time. This is not resolved in time. This sense of psychological time is of an “I” changing, an “I” transforming – that takes time. We can’t handle the experience of anger, fear, or any sensation or thought in this way. Thus, we create the illusion of separateness. If what we feel now is fear, that’s what we are; if what we feel now is anger, that’s what we are.

A thought arises a few seconds later as that experience diminishes in intensity. Then that thought says, “I can't go on feeling angry.” When that thought arises, it has already separated itself from the experience – this is the psychological time, the ego-identity time, and this is the “I” time. This is where the contradiction lies. When we come into direct contact with the experience, without putting an experiencer into it, a thinker about it, that element that is the root, the cause of the contradiction, that doesn't accept what it is, that wants to be different... when we no longer put this element in, we can deal directly with the experience; there is no such separateness, such duality.

See this! This is something very, very subtle, something that requires an extraordinary Energy of Presence, of Consciousness! If we are here working on the end of the illusion of the “I,” the ego, we need this Energy, this Presence, this Consciousness. This Energy is the Energy of Kundalini, the Energy of God, the Energy of Being, of that Being-Consciousness.

The body needs to undergo a transformation, a change. This is possible when there’s the Awakening of Consciousness or the Realization of the Truth of your Being. This is not the contradiction, this contradiction of “I am this and I want to be that,” “I feel angry and I am separate from anger, so I can change that, I can end the anger so I don't have anger anymore”, “I feel afraid and I don't want to be afraid anymore, I want to overcome fear, I want to be a person free from fear.”

Notice what we're saying. The sense of fear is exactly the sense of a “person;” the sense of anger is the sense of a “person;” it’s the sense of an identity present in this experience creating this contradiction between “what I am and what I want to be.” And here we are eliminating that when we bring this Presence, this Energy of Perception here and now, at this moment.

That’s why we're talking to you here about the beauty of that Full Attention, which represents the Pure and Real Knowledge about yourself, True Self-Awareness, studying yourself, looking at what is here, at every single movement of feelings without separating by rejecting, trying to change, trying to modify… noticing the envy present without the ideal of not being envious; looking at the anger present without the ideal of being a person without anger; looking at the fear present without the ideal of overcoming fear…

When you look at envy, at fear, at anger, when you look at thought, and do not separate yourself, there is no contradiction, no conflict, there is no suffering. That very perception is the Energy that brings about a change. This awareness is this Attention to this “me,” this “I.” Ramana Maharshi called this self-inquiry – “who am I?”

Notice what we’re saying to you. When people read this in books – the Atma Vichara – they believe that it’s an intellectual inquiry, a sentence they must ask themselves, a question they must ask themselves: “Who am I?” And that’s not this!

Self-enquiry is self-observation, pure and direct observation in that Full Attention, in that Complete Attention. In English, the expression is mindfulness. Here and now, it is the moment of the Revelation of Truth, of What is your Being. This is the end of the illusion of the sense of the “I,” it’s the end of the illusion of the ego-sense, the end of the contradiction between what I am here and now and what I want to be; it’s the end of it!

The different religions… the tradition of religion has always spoken of the possibility of a change for the human being. Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and Sufism, always indicate that a man can undergo a profound transformation, a profound change, recognizing the Truth of What He is, the Truth of his Being, however, the intellect picked it up. So, theologians have made Scripture into a system that doesn't really work, because Scripture points to something beyond words, analysis, studies, systems and practices; the Scriptures point to the True Meditation, which occurs when the sense of the “I,” of the ego, of that “me” is seen, then there is the Flourishing, the Awakening of that Intelligence, that Consciousness.

This is True Meditation! It’s not the practice of sitting cross-legged, breathing in a certain way, and forcing the mind into a certain silence. The silence of the mind is something that is born very naturally when you look and observe the movement of the mind itself, the movement of this mental consciousness. Then, the brain becomes quiet, there’s a fundamental, essential stillness. It happens naturally, without any effort, when you observe yourself, when you pay Attention to what is here and now, without judging it, without fighting it, without identifying with it.

Therefore, our work together is to show you that the Realization of the Truth that is You, is possible, when this contradiction, which is this “I” dissolves, disappears. Therefore, that’s our job here with you.

Happiness, Love, Freedom, Peace, and the Truth of your Being is revealed when the sense of “I” is no longer present. This is our proposal here for you, within this channel. Ok?

If this is something that makes sense to you, leave your “like,” and subscribe to the channel… I want to remind you: we have online, face-to-face meetings and also retreats to work on this. Ok?

Thanks for the meeting and see you.

The conditioned mind | Activity of egocentrism | Spiritual Enlightenment or Awakening | Free mind

Very good!

All that we are exploring together here within the channel, on this channel, is the Truth of who You are. Yes, that’s right: the Truth about who You are. You don't know the Truth about yourself.

What is the Reality of your Being? What is the Reality of your True Nature?

We don't have that.

Because our life consists of a mental life, a life that is based on thought, ideas, beliefs and conclusions that thought has formulated. So, we don't know what Freedom is – Freedom of your Being, Freedom of our Essential Nature.

The result of all this is this confusion, this disorder, this pain, everything that we experience in our lives.

Psychologically and internally, we are lost from ourselves, because we lack a free mind. Our mind is full of images, remembrances, ideas, beliefs about who we are, what life is about, what the other is, who God is.

So, within this channel, here in these meetings – we have also been doing this in online and face-to-face meetings –, we are working with you on the end to this psychological condition. This psychological condition constitutes what we have called the egoic consciousness or conditioned mind.

Here I want to propose to you the end of this conditioned mind to a free mind.

A free mind is a mind free of this “me,” this “I.” The free mind is the mind free of this “me,” this ego, this structure of confusion, disorder and suffering. Some call this Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening. It is the Truth of your Being, it is the Truth of your Divine Nature, your Essential Nature, expressing itself, living. The presence of this Reality, which is the Reality of your Being, is the presence of Bliss, the presence of Love, it is the presence of Freedom.

Thus, our meetings are intended to show you a new way of looking at life, of looking at yourself, of finding yourself in this context of life. In general, we call it “human life,” but we do not know what that means or represents.

Human life is confused, unfortunate, problematic, anxious, anguished, and unhappy. Of course we have moments of intense joy, pleasure and satisfaction in this or that aspect of life.

We have some really wonderful moments, but they are just moments that are soon eclipsed, again, by moments of anguish, trouble, and suffering.

Is it possible to have a life really in Love, really in Freedom, really in Happiness, a free life? A free life is synonymous with a free mind. So, Enlightenment or Awakening is that which is unusual, which is unknown to this conditioned mind and egoic consciousness.

So, I have been using the expression “mind” here on the channel referring to that Divine, Free mind which, therefore, is synonymous with this Real Consciousness, which is the Consciousness of Truth, which is the Consciousness of God in you; and I have been using the expression “mind” also in the sense of this condition of the mind common to all of us, this mind trapped in this model of psychological conditioning, where there is this “I,” this “me.” The “person” you believe yourself to be is a fraud, an illusion. It is the sense of an identity separating itself from Life, from Existence, separating itself from God and therefore always loaded – that

“person,” that “me,” that “I” – with contradictions, conflicts, problems, and suffering because of that condition, which is the conditioned mind. This “false I,” this “false center,” is based on this conditioned mind condition.

The investigation of the Truth about who we are, self-enquiry, the approach through Self-awareness, is the genuine approach of True Meditation.

And what is Meditation? Meditation is the emptying of all that psychological content, all that conditioning of the mind.

If it is emptied of all that content, we have this free mind present.

It is when the sense of an “I” is no more, that “me” is no more. A life free from the ego is a life in Love, in this Freedom, as I have already stated.

You are in this life, this existence, this world – which I have called a dream – to Awaken, to wake up from this dream. Divine Truth, the Truth of your Being, is God Realization.

We were born for Happiness, we were born for Intelligence, we were born for the expression of this Divine Grace – in religious terms I would say: for “the Glory of the Lord,” for “the Glory of God” – and not for suffering, for this mess that has become our lives.

And it has become this great confusion, this great disorder, this great model of complexity, of suffering, of a nightmare in this dream called “life,” exactly because we address ourselves believing that we have a personal life, of our own, so we say: “my life,” “our life.”

It is always a sense of a present “I,” which is this illusory center, this false center, in this conditioned mind that gives us this illusory sense of a separate existence.

So, there is no beauty in our speech, there is no silence in our mind, in our heart, there is no sparkle in our eyes, there is no beauty. Because all our movements in life are an agitated, contradictory movement. We don't know what action is, only action. We live in a feverish activity – and it is always this activity of the “I,” it is the activity of egocentrism, the activity of this false identity. There is no free action of the ego, free of the “I,” because there is no free mind, a heart free from fear.

Here we want to invite you to recognize the Divine Truth, to assume this Divine Truth of your own Being. This is possible when there is Self-awareness, and Self-awareness is not accumulating information about who you believe you are.

The expression Self-awareness, here on this channel, is used in a different way. It is not a question of learning about this “I,” accumulating information about it, but of learning about this illusory “I,” perceiving the illusion of its presence, perceiving this psychological conditioning that this “I” constitutes.

So, it is not a matter of accumulating information about the “I,” but of discarding the illusion of that “I” by seeing this entire illusory movement of psychological conditioning, realizing this false center, observing this movement of the conditioned mind. Look at it, just look at it.

When you look at it, stillness arises, silence arises beyond that movement, then the mind becomes still, it becomes silent. In this observation, this whole movement, which is the movement of the conditioned mind, is seen; and when that is seen, in that silence of a new mind arising – which is the Presence of that Intelligence –, that sense of “I,” that illusory center in the conditioned mind falls away. And when that is gone, there is no more conditioning in the mind, something entirely new has come into being.

So, Self-awareness brings you closer to True Meditation in practice. Here on the channel we have been talking a lot about Self-awareness. We have a playlist here on the channel about true Self-awareness, which is this subject that we are focused on, and about the True Meditation in practice, in living here and now, moment by moment. It is not the practice of Meditation, as you know it, it is Meditation in practice, in living, here and now, moment by moment. This learning about oneself is the unlearning of this model of egoic mind, of egoic identity, this model of egocentric activity, for the emergence of something new, of this free action of the “I,” of the ego.

Then, there comes the Truth of your Being, which is the Truth of God.

This represents the end of all contradiction, of all dilemma, of all suffering, of all psychological unhappiness, everything that you know as “human life” or “person” as you see yourself, as you believe yourself to be. It is the Reality of God – some call this Kundalini Awakening or the Awakening of Consciousness –, the Truth of God revealing itself here and now.

Thus, the Truth of your Being is the Truth of God, and if that is the Truth of your Being, there is no reason to continue in this movement of conflict, of suffering, living in confusion, in psychological and emotional disorder, in relationships with the world. Without the sense of a present “I,” this present illusory center, life appears as a Single Reality here and now, and that Reality is the Reality of God.

So, we are here with you on this channel, deepening this, investigating this with you, looking together at this possibility of realizing God in this life.

Here the expression “realizing God” is not something for the future, this Realization is the Truth of God revealing Himself in Himself, for Himself. He is Something present now, not something you are going to do or achieve.

Your job is to give up that “me,” that “I.” In this sense, yes, there is a work to be done and this work consists of the simple and direct observation of this movement of the “I.” This constitutes, in fact, ultimately, a work of the Presence itself, of Grace itself, of Divine Truth itself in you.

Looking at this movement, which is the movement of the “I,” here and now, in this moment, realizing all this disorder, all this confusion, all this programming.

This sense of “I” is made up of remembrances, recollections, thoughts, feelings, images, they all come from the past. We have the illusory idea of becoming different from who we are, of improving ourselves in a certain way, of self-improvement in a certain way, as we have been saying here. This is completely delusional.

The Reality of your Being is something that is ready here and now. The whole work consists of becoming aware of the illusion of this “I,” this “me,” the one you believe yourself to be. Seeing the illusion of this psychological being, this false identity, this false “I” – it has established itself as a false center in this conditioned mind.

Seeing this is the end of it. Realizing that is the end of it. So, this approach of oneself is the work that is needed.

To look at this movement of the “I,” to verify this movement of the “I,” to perceive the illusion when it is seated within this false identity.

Is a free life possible? Is a life totally and completely free of disorder, of suffering, of confusion, of fear, a life in Love, in this Consciousness of Reality, which is God Consciousness, possible?

The answer to that is: yes!

That is your True Nature, that is the Truth of your Being.

The only purpose in this life is to assume the Truth of Bliss of your Being, which is the Truth of God, that is when it can be seen only as a great Divine game, a great dream, but it is not a dream for that “me,” for that “I,” for a dreamer. It’s a dream of God. So now you are, yes, enjoying this Grace, this Presence,

living That for which You were born, or That for which You appeared; and it is very paradoxical, “apparently” in this dream, because That which is You transcends – has always transcended – all of that and we can become aware of It and assume It in this life.

So, this is the invitation for you here within this meeting on this channel. If this is something that makes sense to you, I also want to remind you that we have online and face-to-face meetings and also retreats where we are working on this with those who are approaching. If that makes sense to you, see you in the next one. OK?

Thanks for the meeting and see you soon.

The psychological conditioning | Self-observation, Self-awareness | Thoughts and internal disorder

After all, what are we seeing together here? What we are seeing together here is the Truth for the end of confusion, for this psychological confusion – here I mean this confusion of the “I,” of this “me.” What we are seeing together here is the possibility of an end to all forms of suffering. However, to have a true appreciation of this we have to understand how we work, how our mind works. What is the mind? What is thought? How do we work internally? What is this “I,” this model of thought that we bring? It is this model of mental consciousness that we know. So, there’s this “I,” this “me,” this “person,” with this set of remembrances, recollections, memories, living inside this body, having these human experiences and inside this tremendous confusion.

We do not know ourselves. Some of us have this inclination of that quest, which is the quest for spirituality. It is curious to use the expression “spirituality,” because it is so tangled up with a series of strange things that is used to defend different types of ideas, beliefs, superstitions, experiences so-called “esoteric” or experiences so-called “mystics,” the contact with aliens, and so on. So, there is this search for something beyond this confusion and some of us walk the path of this so-called “spirituality.” I don't know exactly what you mean by spirituality, because we have all this paraphernalia, all this “salad” of things connected with that term.

Here I want to invite you to Self-awareness, to the understanding of the Truth about your Being, about your True Nature. This clarifies the Truth of That which is you. We need an emptying of all this content of knowledge, experiences, memories, and remembrances, which form this identity, this “me,” this “I.” All of this is nothing more than programming, internal conditioning, which I have called psychological conditioning.

So, thoughts in us are all anchored basically in memory. We are, in this body and mind, the result of memory. So. the past, which is memory, which is thought… this is the result: we are that, in that condition of egoic mind or mental consciousness – or egoic consciousness as I usually call it.

We need to discover something entirely new. Here, I am referring to the Truth about who we are, which becomes clear when there is an emptying of all this content, the discovery of this “I.” Who am I"? Or what is this “I” that “I” am or that “I” believe I am? What is the truth about this “me"? So, our work here is through self-inquiry or self-investigation: looking at what we are, looking at this entire movement of thought in us – thought, feeling, emotion, sensation, perception, and this sense of reality. What is that? Who is this for? Who am “I?” What does this model of anxiety present here mean, of boredom, distress, and worry? What am I doing here? Will Life be just that: desire, fear, worry, anxiety, anguish, memories, remembrances, frustrations, a few moments of pleasure, fulfillment, joy, and satisfaction? But this is so brief.

We wake up at night and, in the middle of the night, we realize that we are awake and still lying in bed and we find ourselves, suddenly, awake and thoughts spinning inside our heads and producing all kinds of internal disorder, anguish, affliction and concern. We were sleeping and suddenly we found ourselves awake. There is a desire to go back to sleep and this doesn’t happen, because the volume of thought is too great and memories associated with feelings still come, and all of this is basically the past. “I don't know how to deal with it,” “I don't know what it means, what it represents.” So, we spend thirty, forty, fifty, seventy years of our lives laden with problems, wanting thoughts to solve them.

Thought is the closest thing we have, the most intimate thing, the tool we believe to be most effective for solving problems. And then we try, through thought itself, to solve problems. We don't actually realize that thoughts are the ones that bring problems. It was a thought that woke you up at night, it was a thought that triggered itself. It triggered images, pictures, memories, distressing recollections, and there is this sense of an “I” present wanting to get rid of this condition.

Is it possible for us to realize the Truth about who we are? Is it possible to discover the Truth of our Being? What I am saying is that thought in us is producing this, it is limited, it is within its design to do one thing only: that one thing is to produce thoughts. It doesn't care about that “me,” that “I” that you believe you are. For your information, thought is that “me,” the “I” that you believe yourself to be. That’s why you can't get rid of thoughts, because you are the one who is being the thought, disguised in this “me,” in this “I,” producing these very thoughts.

I don't know if it got confusing. What I am saying is that thought creates the thinker, thought creates this “I” that you are confused with. So, you get this identity of that “I” from thought and then thought, which creates problems, wants to get rid of thoughts. I have been told that this is the thief disguised as a policeman to arrest the thief. So, when thought, which is the thief, disguises itself as a policeman, that doesn't solve it. It will never arrest that thief, because iy is the villain, it is the criminal.

Do you understand that?

In us, this movement of thought needs to be seen and unmasked, and it is only unmasked, it is only seen when there is this real interest in approaching experience without rejecting that experience, without fighting against that experience, without fighting against what arises.

So, we are now taking the most important step towards the Truth of revealing ourselves. We have to look at it, approach it, study ourselves here, right now. See what’s going on: the thoughts, the feelings, the emotions, the sensations, all that heaviness, discomfort, everything that comes up. This comes from that center which is this “I,” this “me,” which is nothing other than thought itself. And here, when I refer to thought, I mean this whole set of images, memories, and remembrances that we have in ourselves. Some of them are apparent and easily accessible, at a conscious level or closer to us. Another set of thoughts may be at a deeper, hidden level – what some call the unconscious. So, on a conscious or unconscious level, this set – this trunk of memories, of remembrances, of recollections – is this set of thoughts creating an identity, which is the “I,” and saying that the “I” has to get rid of it to be happy.

So, there is this search of the “I” for happiness, this search of the “I” for freedom from negative emotions, from negative thoughts, from everything that the “I” considers bad for itself. The behavior of the “I,” of this “me,” of this ego in each one of us is curious. What it loves, what it appreciates, it wants to keep and what it despises, it wants to get rid of. But what it appreciates is still part of what it still wants to get rid of. I will clarify this. We want to defend all forms of fulfillment and satisfaction, but these fulfillments and satisfactions of the “I” are attachments in this egoic consciousness, which, in reality, also represent in the short, medium and long term suffering; that is, what the ego itself still wants to get rid of. So, we live within this internal contradiction, in this movement of the “I,” of the ego. Looking at it, examining it, is not introspection, it is not self-analysis, but looking, just looking and seeing, without putting a present identity to try to change, alter, fix or adjust that, but look.

This is the true form of Self-awareness, of approaching Self-realization. Looking at what is happening here and now, without judging, without condemning, without rejecting, without fighting against, without also holding, defending, trying to protect what is part of the psychological conditioning, which is part of this mental consciousness, this egoic consciousness. All this is seen when you bring awareness to yourself. To be aware of yourself here and now, in this instant, to whatever is arising, appearing, without separating from it – and one ends up separating oneself, I repeat, when one fights against it, one separates oneself from it, when one identifies with and try to hold on it so that it belongs to this “me,” this “I” –, but to look, observe, without getting confused, without identifying and without rejecting whatever is appearing. Then, that self-observation gives you Self-awareness, and in this Self-awareness True Meditation is revealed, the contact with the Truth of your Being, the contact with the Reality of your Essential Nature, free of that sense of “I,” of the ego of the “me.”

So, our proposal for you is to look at this, to examine this closely, go beyond this. That which is nameless, That which is formless, That which is outside of time, That which is outside the body, the mind, the world, is exactly what reveals itself when the Truth of God, which is your Being, which is you in your Natural State of Happiness, of Truth, of Love, and Peace, is shown. This is Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening.

So, this is the subject we work on together within this channel. As I've been saying: if it’s something that makes sense, leave your like. Yes, leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. I want to remind you: we have online and face-to-face meetings, and also retreats where we can work on this together. OK?

Here’s the invitation for you and we'll see you in the next one! OK? Thanks for the meeting and see you soon!

Spiritual Enlightenment. The Divine Nature. True Consciousness. The psychological conditioning.

Alright!

I don't know what you prefer calling This. Some people call it Spiritual Enlightenment; others, the Awakening of Consciousness or Self-Realization, God Realization.

So, we are working together on the Understanding of this Truth, the Truth about us. Studying What we are, studying ourselves. So, all the talks are in that direction.

And today I want to touch upon the subject of this Consciousness. After all, what is Consciousness?

I've been using it in these talks – we have a few hundred videos on the channel here... I've been talking about it in online meetings too – we have online meetings available for you as well as face-to-face meetings, where we even have retreats to be together and explore this subject of the Awakening of Consciousness. As I’ve just said, whatever name you want to give to this Natural State of Happiness, which is your Revealed Being, this Revealed Consciousness.

Today, we are going to delve a little deeper into this subject of Consciousness. After all, what is this Consciousness?

So, in these talks, I’ve used this expression in two ways. I call it egoic consciousness or mental consciousness. It’s this consciousness of the perception of the world we all have; every human being has it. Since childhood, we have had this way of behaving in the world. It’s a way of approaching within that consciousness, that perception of mental consciousness or egoic consciousness. Because, since childhood, we perceive ourselves, we already see ourselves as a separate entity, with that sense of an “I” present in the experience called life.

So, this is a way of approaching the expression “consciousness.” This is where we are right now, in a state of consciousness. This mode of consciousness is the same one we have while we’re dreaming. This is a consciousness common to all. The mode of perception through the senses with the presence of the mind.

What is this mind? Feelings, thoughts, and perceptions, in short, the mind includes several aspects of our consciousness. This consciousness is the consciousness of the “I,” “me,” and the ego. This consciousness is basically thought – thought-feeling – sensation, perception, and experiences.

So, this is a way of approaching the expression “consciousness” and soon I'm going to explain to you why it’s important to have a very clear approach to this.

Here, we’re studying, investigating this with you, because we need to find out if a life free from this condition is possible, which is the condition of mental consciousness, the condition of personal consciousness – that particular consciousness, the idea of “someone” who has a name, a body and a story living in time, in this so-called world.

What is the Truth about who we are?

Now I enter with another expression or meaning for this expression. I call it True Consciousness, the Truth about your Being, the Truth of your Divine Nature. That Truth is the Nameless, Indescribable Truth. It’s the Reality outside of time, therefore, it’s timeless, beyond this body, mind, and world, and yet this is your Real Nature, this is your True Nature.

The fact is that we are asleep, we are sleeping. We are lulled into a sleep in which there is a dream and this is the dream of that initial consciousness I’ve just spoken of – that first consciousness I’ve just spoken of. We are inside that dream, that egoic, mental consciousness.

Identified with the sense of an “I” present in life, in the world, and our relationships, we are unaware of the Truth about who we are, and I want to invite you to investigate this, to approach this, this Real Consciousness. However, here I refer to that True Consciousness, to the True Consciousness of Being, which is timeless, outside that limit of the egoic identity and therefore of separateness. What do I mean by separateness? It’s this sense of being “someone” separate from God, separate from the other, from Life, from the world.

This is how we have led our lives and life within this consciousness common to all – which is the egoic consciousness, as I’ve been calling it, which is this mental consciousness. It’s a life in suffering, in complication because we are, in this way, alienated from the Truth of our own Being, we are trapped in this movement of thought. Notice, this movement of thought in you is a movement of that mental consciousness.

We’re here looking with you at the possibility of breaking with this model for a life in full Real Consciousness, in the Nature of the Truth about who we are. That’s what we're looking at here with you. Because as long as this model of egoic identity, egoic mind, egoic consciousness, as long as this remains, as long as there is this separateness, this illusion, there will be suffering.

Then, we need to go beyond that. This consists of the Realization of Divine Truth, the Truth of your Being that is the Reality of God.

See that. Our work here, our commitment, is to investigate the nature of the egoic mind, the nature of the mental consciousness and thus to break free from that condition into something entirely new, unknown, nameless, which is Love, Happiness, and Peace.

Here, I refer to the Nature of God in each one of us. This Consciousness of Reality. This Consciousness is Happiness. This Consciousness is Wisdom. This Consciousness is Freedom.

Our commitment together, here, is for Self-awareness. What is Self-awareness? It’s the approaching, the investigation of what you are.

There are two aspects here. The first is the investigation of what you are, because you mistake yourself for that. This is one aspect. That’s you because you mistake yourself for that. When you investigate what you are, just because you mistake yourself for it, you can break this illusion, go beyond this “me,” this “I,” this ego, this “person” you believe you are. So, this is an aspect linked to this expression here, then, this is an aspect linked to this expression “Self-awareness.” Another aspect within this expression of Self-awareness is the Acknowledgement of the Truth of What transcends this “I,” this ego. Then, the True Self-awareness is born, the True Revelation of your Real Nature, of your Real Identity. Thus, we approach, through Self-awareness, what I have called True Meditation.

Approaching the Truth about who You Are, discarding all illusion about everything you believe to be you. Then, this mental consciousness is the consciousness of the “I,” “me,” the ego, a set of thoughts.

Let me talk a little bit about thoughts here. Thoughts create a lot of disorder, confusion, and disturbance for all of us because we trust the model of thought. And what is this model of thought? It’s the model that tells us we are the ones thinking this.

So, when a thought arises there’s a central idea in each one of us. This idea arises because of the psychological conditioning that we have had since childhood. In fact, we have this as a millennial heritage of humanity. What’s this idea? It’s the idea that we are the ones who are thinking. Then, whatever goes through your head, you already assume in a conditioned, programmed way that you are the one who is thinking. When this occurs, you identify with that thought. There’s identification with thought. If you identify with thought, you mistake yourself for someone doing what thought says to be done or feeling what thought brings with it as a feeling.

So, there’s this model of a present identity as this thinker, as “the one” who feels, “the one” who does. It creates disorder and confusion in our lives in addition to suffering for all of us. This is the condition of the egoic identity, of a model of behavior centered on this false “me,” on this “I,” which is this thinker, which is the one thinking. Thus, this thinker is nothing more than a model of thought. It’s one more conditioning.

A thought arises and creates the idea of “someone” thinking that thought. Actually, what we have is the presence of thought. By the way, an uncontrolled, restless, repetitive, chatty, completely out of control presence within each one of us. We don't know how to deal with it and we believe we are “someone” present who has to know how to deal with it and bring order to this mess. And when we set out to do that, once again, we’re identifying with it, mistaking ourselves for it, and suffering.

I want to invite you to discover the Nature of the Truth of your Being, which is this Real, True, Timeless Consciousness free from this model, which is a model of thought.

An interesting aspect of thinking is that all that thinking is a program running inside you. Turned on. There’s no way of turning this program off. What you can and need to do is to become aware of this program.

People want to learn how to deal with their thoughts by exerting control over them. I’ve just said: when you try to exert control over thought, you, once again, restate the illusion of “someone” being present to do so. That “someone” is thought itself.

Then, thought masquerades itself as a policeman. It’s the thief disguising himself as a policeman to arrest the thief. This is how thought happens within each one of us.

If you try to avoid thinking about a certain thing, try it... If, for example, I’ll give you an idea, it will immediately appear, because all thought does is look for something to sustain its continuity. If, for example, I say to you now: green car with blue roof, a green car with a blue roof. Right away, the brain will create this, because it has this model of image formation by thought. Notice inside you now. You'll already be seeing this blue car with a green roof. Or is it the green roof and the blue car? Or is it the blue car with the green roof? Notice, it was just one car, now you have two.

Notice how interesting is this model of image formation created by this movement of that mental consciousness. If, for example, I say to you: red car with a yellow roof. The brain has already formed a red car with a yellow roof.

If you try to get rid of that red car with the yellow roof, try it now, throw away this red car with the yellow roof now. You can’t. You try to get rid of it. Get rid of the car now, throw the car away. It’s red with a yellow roof. This is how our brain, our mental consciousness works.

We live in a state of sleep, unconsciousness, and hypnosis. We believe in things, all the time, and the greatest of all these things is thought. It’s what thought forms and idealizes. So, thought creates a thinker to think its thought.

There’s no such thinker present in your Essential Nature, which is this Real Consciousness, but there’s this illusion of the thinker in that egoic, mental consciousness.

Our work here is to get rid of this illusion, the psychological conditioning, this state of sleep, of a dream, of hypnosis, for a life free from this process, which is the process of thought creating all kinds of confusion and suffering in our lives.

So, our work here together is for the Awakening of the Reality of our own Being. In our Being, there is Love, Truth, and Wisdom – “there is” from the verb there to be.

God is this Reality of your Being and if This is present, all the confusion created by thought, sustaining the illusion of a present “I” – which is this thinker – all of this vanishes. This is what some people call the Awakening of Consciousness. This is exactly what some people call Spiritual Enlightenment. The Freedom of remaining free from the ego, this “me,” this “I.” A life in Bliss, in Happiness, where there’s this sense of Being, of Wholeness. This is the Presence of Love, of the Divine Reality. We can have several names for This. We can give various names to this Reality of our own Being.

So, Enlightenment, the Truth of this Divine Realization, is the Freedom of remaining free from the sense of “I,” the ego. Free from all this movement of thought, since thought, as you’ve just seen with me, is what it idealizes and makes us trust, believe and sustain as being real. All this is just part of its imagination. It’s just part of its own movement, which is always based on memory.

Thought is always anchored in memory, sustaining itself in memory. All the psychological suffering in us, all the difficulties in dealing with the movement of thought is because there’s this idea of the very thought of “someone” who has to deal with it, who has to get rid of it.

Here, I want to invite you to just observe and become aware of this movement, and that’s enough. When you look at this movement without judging, comparing, or mistaking yourself for it – which is identifying with it – without rejecting it. When you learn to just look at the thought, feeling, sensation, perception, without giving an identity to it – looking means not rejecting that, looking without censoring, without wanting to get away from it, it is exactly that – then, you’re not giving an identity, it’s just an observation. This seeing is seeing without “the one” who sees, a look without “the one” who looks, a perceiving without “the one” who perceives. Then, there’s a change in the brain, in the body, in this mechanism itself. So, there’s a break for this condition of psychological conditioning. There’s a break, an annulment of this egoic, mental consciousness. It’s when this Natural and Real Consciousness, which is your Being, your Divine Nature, your Real Identity, it’s when this can come into focus at this moment.

So, this is the contact with Self-awareness. This is the contact with True Meditation. So, this is the door that opens to God Realization, to the Realization of your Being. This is the direct work possible for each one of us.

So, yes, it’s possible to be out of that psychological time and therefore out of that condition of mental or egoic consciousness, toward something entirely new, unusual and unknown, which is the Truth of God, Love, Peace, and Freedom.

This is the subject we work on with you. Also in online, face-to-face meetings and retreats, where we are together working on this with those who approach us.

If this is something that makes sense to you, our WhatsApp is in the video description. Leave your “like” also in the video, subscribe to the channel, and let’s work on this together. Ok?

Until the next meeting and see you! Thanks for the meeting!

Joel Goldsmith | What is God? | How to realize God? | Satsang with Master Gualberto

Gilson – What is God? How to realize God?

To answer these questions, Master Gualberto is here with us. Again, Master, I thank you for this opportunity to be here with us on the channel, clarifying doubts and bringing what is the experience of this Natural State, of experiencing without the sense of an experiencer.

For those who don't know Master Gualberto, by the Grace of his master Ramana [Maharshi], after twenty-one years of an intense process of self-investigation, a “bomb” exploded, where that sense of a present “I” disappeared and the Natural State settled down. [Natural State] also called Spiritual Enlightenment, the Awakening of Consciousness or God Realization.

For those who don't know Marcos Gualberto, I met him last year, after a period of quietness, where I got away from the channel, away from my studies, and it ended up that, by Grace, a video of Master Gualberto appeared to me, from his channel [“Master Gualberto”], which deals with exactly the same topic as Joel, where the focus is Spiritual Enlightenment. And in a video, where Master talks about this topic, I felt something beyond words. Then a curiosity arose, even for the name “Master.” My ego was like “what do you mean by Master?” I was curious, I saw that they had meetings both online and in person. I participated in a weekend intensive online and then I was able to “understand,” to perceive what is beyond words, what is beyond concepts. Because in the presence of Marcos a True Meditation, as he calls it, settled down, which is a Silence, a Stillness, a sensation of absence of “someone” present, but experience happening.

From then on, I've been participating in all the meetings and the feeling — which is very strong here — is that the search, this search for God that had been going on for many years in my past has come to an end. Yes, there is now work to be done. A job at every moment. A work to observe the activity of this illusory “I,” this ego, which is always judging, classifying, liking and not liking.

Once seeing this illusion, I have realized what is beyond the illusion also appears, which is this Reality, which is the Natural State.

Getting to the questions, Master — What is God? And how to Realize God? —, before you answer, I would like to read an excerpt from Joel’s book “The Art of Spiritual Healing,” where Joel says: “Reader, go to a park where young grass grows, where leaves are born on the trees or, later, when the flowers appear. Contemplate there how God is at every moment, in leaves, flowers and fruits and a wonderful thing no one asks for it to be so, no one says goodbye when He needs these things, the fruits, the green grass, the cattle on the hills, and yet God makes all these appear.”

The word is with you Master.

Master – Your question is: “How to realize God?” To this question I would say: stop interfering, stop occupying yourself with the idea of “someone” being present. When you stop worrying about it, that is, you become unoccupied, you stop interfering, the Reality of God presents itself. It’s not about you realizing God, it’s about God taking “your” place, that “your” place. You have occupied an undue place in this context of life, of existence

Gilson, the expression we use is very curious: “my life.” This “my” life contains “my business,” “my home,” “my family,” “my relationships.” That “mine” and “my” is within that “I.” This “I” is the only problem for this awareness of Truth that the only present reality is God. So, Realizing God means derealizing oneself in the “I.” So, the work of God Realization is the derealization of this “I”. It is the end of the illusion of this “I.”

This “I” is a conditioning, it is a belief, it is an idea, it is a thought, a hypnotic suggestion. It is this “I” that has “mine,” that has “my life,” “my house,” “my family,” “my possessions.” That “I” is a fraud. As long as that “I” remains present, problems are present, suffering is present, fear is present. Fear is based on this sense, the sense of a present “I.”

This “I” separates itself; it appropriates that; it is a “false center.”

A wheel has a center, every wheel has a center. It’s the axis, it’s called the axis. The force of the wheel’s movement is placed on that axle, on that center. The amount of force applied to the center of the wheel, to the axle, will determine the speed of the wheel. That center, that axis is false. Every movement of this wheel that you call “my life,” in which revolves around “my house,” “my business,” “my family,” “my body,” “my health,” “my illness,” “my life,” is completely false.

This is under this illusory axis, this false center, this false “I,” this “me.” It is the presence of that “me” that is the whole hindrance.

When you investigate the nature of that “me,” that “I,” you don't find it there. So, see: it is an axle of a wheel that does not exist. It is a center for a wheel that is not there, there is no “my house,” “my business,” “my family,” “my life.” This is an idea, a belief, it is a thought, an imagination of this “false center.”

So, Gilson, what is realizing God? It is assuming the Truth that there is only God. As simple as that. This requires understanding the illusion of this “I.” It is necessary to approach looking, investigating, observing, becoming aware of this movement of the “I,” of this illusory movement of this axis, of this false center. The direct way to it? Meditation. The direct work for this? Satsang.

The word “Satsang” means association with the Self. In India, this is used in the sense of an encounter with the Self, which is God in a form, in the form of a teacher who has realized God, who is there without this false center. There is no longer an identity present there. When you come across a teacher, a Realized One, a living Master, you are in Satsang.

In Satsang, he [a Realized Being] investigates with you the illusion of belief that you have, that you bring, about who you are. So, he questions you, he investigates your own beliefs with you. All the ideas you bring before him, he discards by showing you that they are just ideas, they are beliefs. So, you work this self-investigation with him and he, in his Presence, the state of Meditation — which is what he shows you, which means the True Meditation in a practical way — happens in a natural way.

A sage in India, Shankara, said that “The efficient boat to cross the sea of samsara, of illusion, is the boat called Satsang.” Here, at this moment, we are facing a moment of the investigation of illusion. We are observing the illusion of what we believe to be. This is Satsang. An encounter with the investigation of illusion is an encounter in which you come face to face with Truth. To see the illusion is to understand the Truth. Not seeing the illusion is keeping yourself within a hypnotic state, of egoic identification, of a dream, where what prevails is fear, suffering, and ignorance.

So you ask, “How to realize God?” Giving up that “me.” Notice what I'm saying: you're not going to find God, you can't find God, you're a fraud,

you're a fraud. It is He who finds you. In fact, you're here on this channel because you've already been found. He found you. Only God calls out to God. Only God seeks God. Only God recognizes God. Only God realizes God. So, it’s not about this “me,” this “I,” this sense of “someone” present to find something called God.

So, we remain in this flight of fancy. The ego is there. It projects God, it idealizes God, it wants God. It wants God its way. It goes so far as to say “I feel God.” What does it mean by “I feel God?” Listen to what I'm going to say: When God is there, the ego doesn't feel anything. When God is there, there is no ego, because the ego is a fraud, is an illusion. God is the Reality.

So, the ego cannot reach God. It idealizes, imagines, believes, searches. So, people, Gilson, ask: “How or what to do to realize God?”

There is no “how.” There is no “what to do.” Nothing can be done that is not already done, and what is done? God. God being who He is there.

Here, the investigation of illusion is not to build the Truth. The investigation of the illusion is to verify the illusion, and the verification of the illusion is the Truth. So, it is not an effort to reach God that will lead you to God. It is the perception of the illusion of this “I” that dissolves in this God Realization.

Gilson – Master, it’s funny how common this is and I'm talking about myself. The ego takes spiritual concepts and takes possession of that concept. For example, as the Master said, understanding that there is only God. Oh! Then the ego says, “Got it! There is only God. There is only God. I'm God. Everything is God.” But this is just a concept. It’s the ego itself with that concept – and I speak for myself. I've been on this quest for many years, the last few years focused on Joel, and I was full of “concepts of Truth,” of “concepts of God,” of “spiritual principles.” But it was “I” who was there, that is, this egoic identity “Gilson” was appropriating the Truth, appropriating the understanding of God, of feeling God, “I” feeling God.

Master, it’s only by an act of Grace, it’s only in this encounter with Truth, as you said, in Satsang [to realize this]. Because the ego, by itself, what chance would it have of being able to see the very illusion that it is?

So, I have an indescribable gratitude in this proximity with you, in these intensive Satsang meetings where, as you said, this is investigated in depth. But the investigation is not just with words. It is in this — what I call — sharing of Consciousness, this immersion in the Presence, in Your Presence — which is the Presence of Grace, which is the Presence of God —, where this gaze is a gaze where I see myself, not the “me” myself Gilson, but this Infinite Being, that one there, where there is only God.

There is no “me” experiencing or feeling God. There is God. It’s something speechless, it’s something unspeakable, it’s something, as you mentioned, “the boat that takes us through this samsara, this illusion.”

Master – There is the Reality present and it is only the present Reality. There is no “I.” There is not this “me,” this ego, this person. Here, Surrender is not the surrender of an ego, in the ego, by the ego. Here, surrender is the realization of the Truth in this illusion, in this illusion of the “I,” in this illusion of the “ego.” Then, That, which is Real, shows itself. So, the word “surrender” or “surrender” to God, this and several other words used is not within this religious terminology. This needs to be seen too.

We cultivate a lot of words and we have a lot of images linked to feelings, emotions, and sensations. Linked to words, above all, religious words. That’s comforting. This cheers us up, gives us hope, consoles us, even gives us a certain peace of mind, but it doesn't solve the problem. It does not resolve. That is not Realization yet. Realization is the end for the “me”, for the “I” that is comfortable, that loves to listen.

Notice how interesting it is: human beings love to hear about God — some, don't they? Religious people love to hear about that, but hearing is a harmless thing, very harmless. A direct work of surrender to the Truth is necessary. It is here that we now use the word [surrender]. Surrender to the Truth.

Enjoying a video like this, listening to these words and saying: “But this is very beautiful”, does not solve it. It’s on an emotional level, on a feeling level. And one detail: it becomes more of an idea, more of a concept, more of a belief.

Contact with Satsang or contact with the Reality of direct work is really something that works, because it destroys that more romantic, more sentimental thing, more involved with feeling, thought and emotion than with the Truth of self-investigation, of self-observation and abandonment, or surrender to that Truth.

We are very much into theory, Gilson. I've said it — if I haven't said it, I'll say it now — these words are to be experienced, experienced. They are not to be held in the intellect, admired. “Oh! How beautiful they talk. That boy with the mustache speaks so beautifully. That other one also in the yellow shirt speaks so beautifully.” It’s not for us to stay there. You have to live it, feel it. When I say feel it, it means letting yourself experience it, allowing yourself to. Not resisting this Truth of this Divine call for this surrender, for this abandonment. Then, something is possible. Something becomes possible and that something possible is the very Presence of Grace making it possible. God assuming the place that is His. He attracts you. He touches you and He does all the work.

What do you do? You keep quiet. You give up. You leave the scene and you leave the scene when you come across Satsang, when you come across this self-observation, this True Meditation here and now.

This is a real interest, Gilson, deep, true, for the discovery of That which is present, but it is not being verified because we remain too much in theory, in emotion or in feeling. Live This, experience It, see It, come to Satsang. Engage with the Truth.

“Whoever is not born again — in the words of Christ — cannot enter the Kingdom of God” and “be born again” means the old man has disappeared. Somehow it is no longer there for something new to arise, what is old is gone. So, the sense of an “I” – which is the past, which is this “me,” this whole background of psychological conditioning – needs to be undone. This is assuming the Truth of your Being. This is keeping quiet for God to take His place. That is God in this Realization. It is the Realization of God in God.

When that sense of “I” is not there, That which is present is the Reality of God. It’s not you present, it’s God present. There is only Him. You are not an instrument, you are not a vehicle, you are not… You are God, that is the nature of your Being. When That takes over, God is there, and when God is there, there is no more suffering. When God is there, there is no more confusion, no more problems.

Gilson – How words are in duality and the ego uses them to stay alive.

Master – Yes.

Gilson – Words, as you said: “surrender.” “Look at that wonderful ego, an ego that surrenders.” It’s not the ego. It incorporates that and says: “I surrender.” If there is an “I” wanting to surrender, who is that “I” that is surrendering? It is the activity of that illusory identity surrendering or, as you just commented [just now], being an instrument of God or a transparency of God. So, there is a “very important me” being God’s instrument. It is very naughty, this ego.

Master – We have to be careful with our words, Gilson. Words are too tricky. Words are very tricky, you know, words are dangerous. We have to be careful with words. If you intellectualize them, they take on a very peculiar meaning for the ego itself. It appropriates those words and makes them its own. Words are dangerous.

We have to go beyond words, as Joel himself said, “beyond words and thoughts.” So, what we say doesn't matter. It’s what we live outside our minds that matters. And outside the mind, what you live is not you. It’s the Truth revealing itself, because there is no you. Exactly! There is no you. Outside the mind, what is lived is not you living, it is Consciousness, it is Christ, it is Truth, whatever name you want to give it. It is God, it is Christ, it is Consciousness, it is Being.

What I noticed, Gilson, what I have noticed… I was raised in a deeply religious environment, as a child. This is my story, since I was a child, Gualberto’s story… And we are very passionate about words like Jesus, like God. Because they are words that really create an emotion or provoke an emotion, but we have to have a real understanding that the word is not quite the thing and that feeling is still personal, very particular.

There is something beyond that feeling, beyond that word, which is the Truth, which is God, which is the Christ, and when Christ arrives, the illusion ends. All this romanticism, all this mawkish thing, all this scared, fearful, prejudiced, particular stuff, which the ego itself has transformed into something for it of this so-called “religious life,” or “esoteric,” or “mystical,” or the sense of being an “instrument,” a “vehicle,” an “expression of the Divine,” all that disappears, because there is only God. If there is only God, it is only God. It’s God speaking, it’s God doing, it’s God quiet, it’s God expressing himself, it’s God completely assuming this so-called “my story.” There is no “me,” there is no more story.

Then, the sense of “I” disappears with “mine,” with “mine,” [with] “my things,” [with] “mine.” It’s so weird “mine,” “my car.” Guys, “my house,” what do you mean by “my house?” “My business,” what do you mean by it? “My family.” People, there is nothing that is yours, all of that disappears.

There are those who even say “my God,” “our God.” What do you mean by “our God?” “Oh my God?” It’s all so childish on our part. So, we need to realize the Truth that there is only God, and when there is only God, there is nothing that is “mine” or that is “ours.”

God is the Reality of everything, in everyone. There is only Him. So, now, God is the Reality of this house, this family, these businesses, this body. Look how different it is! It is not saying “my body,” “my house,” “my family,” “my children.” No! God Is the Reality of these children, this wife, this husband. God is the Reality of this Life, is the Reality of your Being. So [the question] “How to Realize God?” does not enter, because you do not go to Him, He has already arrived. Just be still. Keep still. It’s there in Psalm 46: “Be still and know that I am God.”

You are not still. You are not quiet. You are always moving. Always wanting, always seeking, caught up in ambition, envy, desires, fears, anxieties, control, manipulation, possession. You are not still. Keep still. “Be still and know that I am God.” He already Is. Just be quiet, that is, get out.

Self-observation is self-investigation. This is the basis of Self-awareness, True Meditation in a practical way. Then, God presents himself. That’s God.

Gilson – Gratitude! Gratitude, Master. Our time has already ended. Gratitude for this Satsang, this encounter with the Truth, with this State, it’s** not the best word, but with That which is beyond words, beyond thoughts.

It is true — if we can say so — Grace, this mystery of Grace.

Gratitude! gratitude!

Those who are following the video, leave your likes, leave a comment. And whoever “feels” something when focusing on Master Gualberto’s eyes, is invited to be in Satsang. On Saturday mornings, the meetings are open — free of charge — and for those interested in going deeper into this investigation and into this State of True Meditation, there is an intensive weekend [Saturday and Sunday], in addition to face-to-face meetings and, also, retreats.

Gratitude! Gratitude, Master.
