How to attain Spiritual Enlightenment? | Psychological time

The question is: how to attain Spiritual Enlightenment? It is a very frequent question "how to get there? It is a very frequent question "how to reach this Enlightenment?" I have to talk to you a little bit about this issue of this psychological misconception that we have of this so-called "time." We talk about present, past and future, for example. We never clearly understand what this represents.

This notion of time we have, all of it, is a notion based on thought. There is no reality in what we call past. Past is an idea, it is a concept, a belief.

Some experiences lived by that organism, by that body, by that mind, preserved a remembrance, a memory of events and happenings, bringing now, to this present moment, the idea that was lived in the so-called "past." In fact, what we have now, here, is a remembrance, a memory.

We are not denying existence of chronological time. We cannot deny the reality of yesterday, nor the reality of today, nor the reality of tomorrow, chronologically speaking, but there is no truth in present, past and future, psychologically speaking. So, what you can have now, here, as a remembrance, as a memory, is only an image, being constructed by thought, related to psychological time that never existed, that never occurred, what never happened. Simply because there is no present identity here, now, having this remembrance. This is a pure mechanical process, of the brain itself, of the machine itself, of this body-mind structure.

That identity was not there, just as it is not here. There is no "me," this "I," this ego. Therefore, this "person" that you believe to be is not real.

If we are dealing with the subject "how to attain Enlightenment?", we need discard to discard the illusion of someone to attain This. Attaining presupposes time… time for whom? To this identity, to this center that is not real, to this "I" that has no reality.

Ramana Maharshi always put this question in front of those who came to him: "Who am I?" The question is, "who am I?" There is no "I" present here and now. No "I" was present yesterday, being, for example, hurt, wounded, offended... This sense of offense, this present pain in the sorrow is something to a supposed present identity. What is present in this sorrow, or in this resentment, or in this wound, is the illusion of someone in this experience.

To look at yourself, to look to That what You are here and now and discard that sense of identity in this experience of this so-called "sorrow," "psychological pain" or "resentment" is the real basis we have for this Divine Realization.

So, how to attain Spiritual Enlightenment?

Putting an end to this illusion, the illusion of this psychological time, the illusion of this psychological identity, trapped in this imagination of time – someone present to be hurt, to be wounded, to be offended; someone who has been hurt, who has been wounded or who has been offended. This ego identity is not real.

Your work towards Enlightenment necessarily passes through the end of this illusion. It needs to end. All this notion of present, past and future – I said psychologically speaking –, needs to end.

All what we have is this instant, this moment, here and now, which is Consciousness, Presence, which is You in your Being, in your True Nature, and here there is no "I." Your Being is not in time. It is never born and will never die. This duality "me and the world," "me and Life," "me and God," "me and the other," is a belief, a concept, an idea.

Thought has been producing this, has been creating and sustaining this. You have been confusing yourself with this. This way, Love, Peace, Freedom, Happiness is not possible. Consciousness is not possible if this notion prevails psychologically, the notion of "I," of "me;" if what prevails, psychologically, is this notion of time -

present, past and future. This is something completely destroyed within this Vision of Truth about who You are, here and now, as Consciousness.

So, our work together is for us to be become conscious of What we are, here and now, free of this false sense, of this false identity, of this imaginary center, all created by thought, which is basically memory, basically remembrance, which is basically imagination of time.

Memory is present, but it is present here and now. But memory is not what You are! Memory is part of thought; it is something within thought. So, this is memory, this remembrance... This is not You; it is not That what You truly are.

So, how to attain Enlightenment? By becoming aware of the Truth that You are here and now and discarding the whole identification with this movement of psychological memory, which is sustaining the idea to this false identity, to this false center, to this false "I."

This is our work together here, with you.

How to attain spiritual Enlightenment | Meditation

Meditation! Meditation is all that is needed for this Spiritual Awakening, for this Spiritual Realization. So, the question may sound very strange "how to attain spiritual Enlightenment?" This is what I want to explain to you here: the intimate and very close relationship between Meditation and Spiritual Enlightenment; Meditation and how to attain Spiritual Enlightenment.

The work is simple. I am not saying that it's easy. I'm saying that it is simple. It represents being in direct contact with who You are. You are busy with external goals for this "person" that you believe to be. You are not engaged to realize the Truth about who You are, but you are, in this world, in search for an external goal to fulfill the "person" that you believe to be.

These various forms of fulfillment, you call "love," "peace," "happiness," "freedom," "prosperity" ... It is always the occupation with the "person" that you believe to be, in an attempt to extend, to get something for this "me," this "I," for this "person."

And here I want to set to you the importance to discover the Truth about who You are, and putting this energy in this direction, all this energy spent for an external goal that invariably will disappear, that infallibly will disappear. It is something that, in fact, is not worth spending a lifetime occupying yourself with, in an attempt to achieve this so-called "happiness," "peace," "love," to occupy yourself with fulfillment and external achievements for this "me," for this "I," for this ego, for this "person" that you believe to be, and not be involved with the Truth about who You are.

So, our job here is to show the importance of Meditation, because Meditation gives you this key, the key to the Realization of your Real Purpose in life. This is not on the outside, so it is not externally what you are going to realize. No matter how great are your external accomplishments, you are not going to achieve Love, Peace, Freedom and Happiness by meeting the needs of vanity, whim, of this egoic mind.

The Realization of Love, of Happiness, of Freedom, of Peace is in the Realization of the Truth. I will repeat: the Truth about who You are. This is only possible through Meditation. Meditation is the key to this Discovery; Meditation is the foundation to this Discovery. So, Meditation brings you closer to the Truth about who You are, and Meditation, which this key, opens the door to this Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening.

So, how to attain Spiritual Enlightenment? How to achieve the Truth about who we are? Through Meditation, through Real Meditation. So, This brings at once all what you are searching for, within this illusion of "person" that you believe to be, in these projects produced by the egoic mind. This also brings Real Happiness, Real Love, Real Peace, Real Freedom.

So, this is our subject here on this channel. So, what we are pointing out is the unique opportunity to the Realization of the Truth about who You are. Self-realization is the only and real important thing and needed for your life. It brings with It everything that is needed to You, as Consciousness, as Presence, as the Divine Truth of what You are.

So, Meditation gives you this key. Meditation is to become aware of who You are here and now, by self-observation, by the observation of the movement of the mind. The observation of the movement of the mind, of thoughts, of feelings, of emotions, of sensations, all this can reveal what is not You. This, in itself, brings you the direct Realization of who or what You really are. This brings you the direct Realization of the Truth about who You are, and This is the end of all confusion, of all suffering, and the Realization of Divine Truth.

So, how to attain Enlightenment? How to attain the Truth? How to reach This? Notice that, ultimately, it is not to attain, to reach, to obtain... It is the presence of Grace arriving, realizing, doing, expressing itself as something that You already are, here and now; bringing something that You already are, here and now. It is basically this.

Kundalini Yoga | Spiritual Enlightenment | Ramana Maharshi

Still on this matter of Kundalini, Kundalini Yoga and Spiritual Enlightenment. What is Kundalini Yoga? And what is Jnana Yoga? See, apparently, they are two paths, but both point to the same Reality: the Reality of Consciousness, which is the Reality of the Self, which is the Reality of the Truth about who You are here and now.

So, there is a lot of confusion about what Kundalini is. There's a lot of imagination about it. According to Ramana himself, Kundalini is the Presence of the Self, which is the Heart.

When this Energy of Presence settles, when It Awakens and settles, It goes up through the spine to the brain, makes some changes, and goes down, according to Ramana himself, and It reaches the Heart. Then, there is this Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment.

So, it's basically this… A whole psychophysical process the body goes through due to the presence of this Energy, which Ramana also calls Shakti. Kundalini is this Energy of Shakti itself, working in the organism, in the mechanism, in this body-mind, so that this Enlightenment, so that this Awakening is possible.

Now, this may seem very technical being put this way. In Kundalini Yoga the practice is of mudras, breathing, there are several practices, and Ramana himself says that what is the goal of Kundalini Yoga, through practices… Ramana says, "here…" he says, "through Jnana we go into the direct path of self-inquiry, of self-investigation," which is what I prescribe here for you.

Our work is directly through Jnana. Don't worry about this terminology. Here we work with you to point out what is most direct to this Spiritual Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment, which is Atma Vichara, self-inquiry.

So, what is, in Yoga, in Kundalini Yoga, obtained through several practices, here is obtained through self-observation, through self-inquiry, the observation of the movement of mind, the observation of the movement of "me," this observation of the movement of being aware of feelings, emotions, sensations, perceptions… This can put you in direct contact with your own Self, with what You are here and now.

Then, this automatic process of Kundalini Awakening takes place in this body-mind, in this mechanism, simply and through this self-inquiry. And what is self-inquiry? It's being aware of the Truth about who You are.

The very own awareness of this observation of the Truth about who You are, this look, once you don't identify with the illusion thought is producing, the feeling is producing, the sensation is producing in the body, once you don't identify with this, you are already in direct contact with the Truth about who You are.

This happens automatically, in a simple way, in a natural way. This puts you in direct contact with Silence, with Presence, with Consciousness, with the Awakening of this Divine Energy, of this Shakti, which some people call Kundalini or so-called within Yoga.

Thus, this Energy of Presence works, it works in this organism, and it goes up, gets to the brain, works, operates a change, and goes down to the Heart. So, Ramana says that Kundalini is the Heart Itself. At some other time, he says that Kundalini is Shakti itself, and this isn't necessarily inside or outside the body; according to Ramana it is inside and outside – not in one part excluding another.

So, see, there's no point in being psychologically busy trying to understand this, because that's one more activity that you will have to necessarily get rid of as well. Here, it's not about any comprehension or intellectual understanding of something that seems so technical, even because we are westerners, we are not used to all this language and all these techniques or millennial practices of Yoga.

Thus, your direct work is in being aware of the Truth about who You are, through observation. So, I've been trying to show you here the beauty and the importance, and how to Meditate; the beauty and the importance of Meditation and how to Meditate.

So, that's what we've been talking about and that's the only subject on this channel. We are pointing out to you the importance of this Awakening, this Divine Realization, something possible for you here and now through the Realization of the Truth You are, through self-observation, which reveals the Self-knowledge, which presents itself as Meditation.

I never separate Meditation from self-inquiry or Meditation from your own Natural State, which is Consciousness. And now you notice that there is no separation between this Consciousness and the Heart; and the Heart and the Presence of Shakti or Kundalini.

We put aside all these terminologies and work on what we have most practical here and now, which is Meditation. Maybe some things, some changes start to happen in the body itself, once you begin to pay attention to yourself through self-observation, entering that Real work of Meditation.

So, the body can go through some processes, and the tip is: don't be tangled with this, don't mistake yourself for this, don't identify with this. Then, in Yoga, the appearance of Siddhis or powers is very well known. Some things can start to happen, but notice, it has no direct importance as far as What You actually are. They are just changes. A certain process is possible to happen in the body, but it's something like a process, it's not something definitive; it's something that happens, but it ends; it's something that can have a beginning, arise for a while, and then disappear, and that's what naturally happens, in an automatic way, according to Ramana, once you turn to this "who am I?", to this real practice of self-observation, which is what I prescribe for you here on this channel.

This actually was my experience for over 20 years in this contact with the Presence of Grace, under this Divine directive, under this Divine guidance from Ramana Maharshi.

Kundalini Yoga | Atma Vichara | Ramana Maharshi

So... Some ask, "But what is Kundalini? Gualberto, what can you tell us about Kundalini Yoga? What is the importance of Kundalini for Awakening?" Well, what I can tell you is what Ramana – who is, indeed, the greatest of all authorities on the subject – said. Kundalini is nothing but the Self itself, which is the Heart itself – I speak of this Spiritual Heart. When this Heart blossoms, when Kundalini, when this Presence, when this Energy ascends, It ascends, It becomes Real in that organism, in that mechanism, in that body-mind; Spiritual Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment takes place.

So, it is possible for you to go through a whole process, even having some symptoms of the appearance of this Energy, of the blossoming of this Energy. But see, this whole process is just a process that the body and mind can go through, but it doesn't represent the Final State, or the Ultimate State, or the State that I call as the "Establishment", the Natural State, that State really "established" in Enlightenment or Awakening.

Ramana said that in Kundalini Yoga people work with mudras, pranayama, breathing and other techniques. He would say, "Here, in Jnana, the only thing that is needed is 'who am I?'" So, "who am I?", self-enquiry or Atma Vichara, as he used to say, just that is enough, because all this work happens automatically, in an already natural way, in this organism, in this mechanism.

Then, Kundalini Awakening, or Spiritual Awakening, or Spiritual Enlightenment takes place, simply by self-enquiry. And what is self-enquiry? That's what I've been dealing with you within this channel. All I can tell you is about my experience, my own experience within this process, which took more than twenty years, here in my particular case.

This self-enquiry is to become aware of the observation of the movement of consciousness, here and now. And when I use the expression "movement of consciousness," it's not that consciousness is moving; I speak of this movement of "being aware." And here, the awareness of this movement is actually very basic: it is the observation of the movement of the mind. It is the mind that presents itself as this "state of being aware."

So, the observation of this so-called "consciousness" is , in reality, the observation of the movement of the mind. It is important that you begin to observe what is happening here and now with this "I" that you believe yourself to be.

So, the observation of the movement of the mind is the discarding of this identification with ego identity, with this "person" that you believe yourself to be. Our work together lies in becoming aware of the Truth about who we are here and now.

So, our subject today, here, is Kundalini, Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini is this Awakening of Truth about who we are here and now. See, the terminology is new, the terminology is different, it's Indian terminology, but the subject is basically the same: we're talking about Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening. Because this is the only subject we deal with within this channel. Our unique work here is towards this Awakening, this Realization, this Realization of Truth that we are here and now.

I have been sharing this since 2012. The Truth about who You are is something present here and now, when the egoic mind – that mind that moves psychologically in time, in the time created by thought itself… when this is discarded, because this Energy of Presence, of Consciousness, which is Kundalini, blooms, awakens, you assume your Real State, which is your Natural State. Here, it is interesting to say that, within this Awakening of Kundalini, there is a whole process going on, and this is what is much investigated and practiced within Kundalini Yoga.

So Ramana said that you don't exactly have to do it through the path of Kundalini Yoga, you can do it directly by self-enquiry, by this direct observation of the movement of thought – that is self-enquiry. So Atma Vichara or self-enquiry is the observation of the movement of the mind. That brings the discarding of that ego identity, and this brings Awakening, which is the Awakening of Divine Truth, which is the Awakening of God's Truth.

So there is a dialogue of Ramana in 1945 with someone about Kundalini Yoga and Jnana Yoga; the basic difference... while Kundalini Yoga goes through a path of practices, of mudras, as I said just now, breathing and pranayama, Jnana Yoga goes through the direct path of Atma Vichara, and that's what we're talking about here with you. So, I'm giving you the direct hint for this Awakening.

So, how is Enlightenment possible? How to achieve Spiritual Enlightenment? By becoming aware of the Truth about who You are here and now. So, when we talk about self-observation, we are talking about the basis of Self-knowledge. This Self-knowledge is That which brings the Revelation of the Truth about what or who You are.

So Self-knowledge is not the knowledge of an "I," but the Knowledge or the Realization of the Truth that there is no "I," no "me," no ego, to be known.

Once the mind turns inwards, it is immersed into the Source, which is the Heart. Ramana said that Kundalini is the Self itself, it is the Heart itself. Once the mind turns inwards, it plunges into the Heart. This immersion in the Heart is when this Energy of Presence, of Consciousness, blossoms. This is Spiritual Enlightenment. This is Spiritual Realization.

So, the relation is very intimate between the Real Awakening, the Real Enlightenment, and the work of this establishment of this State of Presence, of Shakti, of Kundalini, of this Energy in the Heart.

Kundalini Yoga | Ramana Maharshi

Let's start? The subject is Kundalini, Kundalini Yoga, and the relation between Awakening and Kundalini. Kundalini is this Presence which Ramana calls Shakti; it is the very own Presence of the Self, the Presence of Consciousness. According to Ramana, this Presence, which is Kundalini, is something inside and outside the body. The idea that It is something present inside the body exclusively, according to Ramana, is due to this identification "I am the body."

When we talk about Kundalini, we are talking about this Energy of Presence, which is this Consciousness within You. The Awakening of this Energy, the Awakening of this Presence, of this Consciousness, is the Awakening of Kundalini.

Once, a visitor went to Ramana talking about Kundalini Yoga: "What is the difference between Kundalini Yoga and the path of Jnana, of Jnana Yoga?" Ramana explained to him that Kundalini Yoga works with mudras, breathing, pranayama, and various other techniques, whereas in Jnana path the only thing here… and that was the path of Ramana, which is the path we have showed you here towards this Awakening, towards this Spiritual Enlightenment. Here we are pointing out self-inquiry, which Ramana called Atma Vichara. The question "who am I?" and we see this in a dialogue in 1945, from day by day with Bhagavan… He, with this visitor, explains that it happens automatically through Atma Vichara, which in Kundalini Yoga is sought through different practices.

So, our work here with you – since that was my experience regarding this Awakening, this Spiritual Enlightenment – is through self-inquiry, through Atma Vichara. So, Kundalini is the Awakening of this Presence, of this Consciousness. This is something that happens automatically in this self-inquiry.

So, what I have pointed out on the channel as a real practice, what is most practical, is exactly the direct path Ramana indicated. This path is self-inquiry and self-investigation.

So, when we talk about Kundalini, we are talking about a change in that very structure of body and mind. Then, Spiritual Realization or Enlightenment happens in this mechanism, in this organism, due to a psychophysical change. Thus, you need to go through a change and this change happens when this Energy, which according to Ramana is inside and outside the body itself, Awakens and reaches not the top of the head, but rather the Heart.

So, according to Ramana, Kundalini is this Energy, is this Consciousness Present that when Awakened, the Spiritual Heart, this "Space" of Pure Consciousness – I call "Space" of Pure Consciousness – blooms inside you.

So, this is something that we can put in a much simpler way: just do self-inquiry, work this question in yourself, this question of Meditation, and this Kundalini Awakening will happen, according to Ramana, automatically.

So, here we dismiss these practices and put this to you in a direct way. Maybe you ask me: "And what is the direct way of working this in ourselves since it is not through breathing, through pranayama, or mudras, or other techniques, as prescribed in Kundalini Yoga?

What is the direct way for us to get in touch with the Truth about who we are? What is this, then? What is this 'who am I?' What is this self-inquiry?" I have said this here in countless videos: your work is to observe the movement of the mind. Self-observation already brings this self-inquiry necessarily. Some people call it self-investigation, I also call it self-inquiry, because Atma Vichara is basically self-inquiry, it's not self-investigation, but rather self-inquiry.

So, this observation of the movement of the mind, the observation itself – and when I put the word "observation," I refer to this look without choice, without judgment, without comparison, without accepting or rejecting what thought says…

See, this is something quite important; at the same time, quite delicate. So, when we talk about the Awakening of Kundalini, or when we deal with the issue of Kundalini, which is the Awakening of this Presence, of this Consciousness, when this Energy reaches the Heart – and here I refer to that Spiritual Heart… Ramana talked a lot about this Heart: it's the Presence of Consciousness. It's not something basically in the body, although it is also located in the body, it is not exclusively; it's this Consciousness that transcends the own form, it transcends the own body. The body is an appearance within It, within this Consciousness.

So, notice: this sounds very vague, very theoretical. Then, let's get to the practical side of it, and I want to repeat: the practical side is in being Aware of the Truth about who You are through self-observation. So, Self-knowledge is the direct way to this contact with the Truth about who You are, through self-inquiry, which is the simple and direct observation of all internal movement.

A thought arises and you observe; a feeling arises and you observe; an emotion arises and you observe… this observation without mistaking yourself for it, without getting entangled with this experience, without identifying with the whole process linked to thoughts, to imagination, to images, and beliefs arising; without mistaking yourself for sensations or emotions arising in the body.

So, you get in direct contact with the Truth of that "who am I?" because now, at this moment, there is a disidentification from the idea "I am the body," "I am inside the body," "I am someone."

Thus, here we have the basis for Meditation. The basis for Meditation creates this facilitation for the Comprehension of the Truth about who You are. And this Comprehension reveals the Presence of Grace, the Presence of Consciousness, and the Presence of Kundalini, which Ramana says is the same as the Heart itself. Then, there is no separation between Kundalini and Consciousness, between Consciousness and Heart – This is the Self!

Depression | Learn to deal with thoughts

"Gualberto, what is your view about this condition of depression?" This is a question. After all, depression is our subject today, in this video. Depression: what state is this?

See, we are dealing with a state of psychological disorder, so this is not something unusual in the mind, because, basically, what we call "mind" – and, here, we are referring to the separatist mind, the dualistic mind, the egoic mind... Depression is a state of disorder, also as part of the egoic mind.

It has, yes, some physical and chemical aspects, in the brain itself, but the basis of depression is always psychological conflict, it is the duality of thought, it is the contradiction of thought.

Thought is always placing itself as a disorder, from the psychological point of view, within human beings. It has a simple and natural function of memory, of remembrance, because, basically, thought is memory, thought is remembrance. But, regarding human beings, what we have seen is this condition of psychological disorder, produced by psychological time, created by this memory.

So, basically, thought is time, it is psychological time, because time, which is thought, is memory. What thought does is produce an illusory identity within that experience of remembrance, of recollection, of memory.

So, thought creates an element, this element called "me," "I," ego, "myself" – these are names given to this element that thought has created. This "me," this "I," this ego, this "person," these names which thought calls to be a present identity, here and now, is not real, and it is fighting against Life as Life is.

Life has a sampling, a presentation. Life has a shape. Life is what It is, but this "me," this ego, this "person," this supposed identity, does not accept. This occurs because of this pattern of conditioning, of culture, because, actually, we are raised to clash with Life, and not to welcome Life as It is, as It shows itself.

We are living within pattern of conditionings, in our culture, where we are fighting against the Reality of Life as It is, as It shows itself. So, there is always this conflict, there is always this fight between this "me," this "I," this ego, this "person," and Life as It appears.

In this fight, Life is always stronger, because Life is what It is. Life does not bend to the whims, to these vanities of this false "I," this ego. This ego rebels, does nothing but conflict, war and fighting against what it cannot win, and then it ends up feeling in this way, this manner.

The non-acceptance, the non-embracing, the non-vision of Life as It is, due a false center resisting, fighting, battling, this sustains this thing called "depression," this condition called "depression," this psychological disorder called "depression."

My invitation to you in these meetings, in Satsang, here in this work, is for you to discover the beauty, the art of Meditation.

Meditation is this meeting with Life as It is, in this welcoming, where is no "me," "I," this ego, this "person."

So, this finishes, puts an end to contradiction and, naturally, to conflict. So, every form of present suffering in this false identity – and depression is a condition, it is a way, it is a form of this suffering – this ends when you realize the Truth about who You are.

The Realization of the Truth about who You are, is the Recognition of Life as It is, which represents the Welcoming of the Truth about yourself, about yourself; there is no rejection, there is no contradiction, there is no conflict, there is no fight, there is no depression.

Meditation is the Blossoming of Peace, of Love, of Freedom, of Welcoming the Beauty of Life, the Beauty of Existence. There is no suffering in Life; suffering is internal, suffering is psychological, suffering has as its basis resistance. Ego is resistance, and this is suffering. Life is as It is. Some situations are not that comfortable, but it is as Life shows itself, how It is presented.

Resistance is to open up for contradiction, to psychological conflict, to the presence of depression. Not knowing how to deal with oneself, yourself, basically, constitutes the possibility of states of internal disorder, psychological disorder.

To learn to deal with thoughts, with feelings, with emotions, with sensations, and learning to deal with this, means to not identify yourself with that given experience, placing yourself as the center of it, as someone for whom this experience is happening. When this happens, see, when the experience is pleasant, that "me," this "I," that ego, feels egoically fulfilled, but when the experience is unpleasant, this "me," this "I," this ego feels rejected, despised, not accepted, not loved, not acknowledged. This generates resistance, that generates suffering, that generates depression.

So, what is said here for depression, also applies to several other cases of rejections of Life as It is. They are conditions present due to... according to the direct amount of rejection of Life as It is, as It appears.

Not knowing how to flow with this, not knowing how to "go" with it, is to be in resistance. Flowing with this is You in your State of Pure Understanding, which is Consciousness, which is Meditation.

So, anxiety also takes place; this form of fear – also called anxiety – also takes place. So, when we are talking of anxiety, when we are talking of fear, when we are talking of depression, when we are talking of psychological disorder, we are talking of this illusory presence, something which is established in the ignorance about who, in fact, You are.

If you realize the Truth that You bring, that You are here and now, there is no space for fear, for anxiety, for depression, because You are Consciousness, this is your True State, this is your Real State.

Some call this Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening. Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening is the emergence of your State, it is the blossoming of your State, it is the real manifestation of your Natural State, which is your Divine State, which is your State of Consciousness of the Reality of God, the Reality about oneself, about yourself.

So, the end of thought, the end of psychological disorder, the end of this notion of a present identity to control, to manipulate, to fix Life, this is not present in You, in your Self, in your Natural State. It is present only in this state of psychological contradiction, in this mental state, which is pure cultural, social conditioning, something that you have been living and received in this culture, in all this unconsciousness of life which everyone around you lives in, within this same pattern, within this same model.

So, in all this unconsciousness, this has manifested today and is manifested there in this mechanism, in this body-mind. It is possible to go beyond this, by going beyond the egoic mind, beyond the sense of duality, separation between you and Life, between you and Existence, between you and the other, between you and God.

OK? Interesting? Do you want to deepen this, do you want to realize your Natural State, Real, True, of Love, Peace, Freedom and Happiness? Subscribe to the channel, leave your "like" and let´s work on this together here.

Guided Meditation: The Vision of Real Meditation

"Gualberto, what can you tell us about guided meditation?" That's another question here... Guided Meditation! What can I tell you about guided meditation? You need to discover the real beauty of Meditation. What does Meditation represent? Your Self. Meditation represents That which You are, here and now, as Pure Consciousness, free from the contradiction created, produced and sustained by thought, within this egoic mind, within this pattern of conditioning.

So, Meditation is the Truth about your Self, the Truth about your Divine Reality. So, presently, at this moment, there is a lot of talk about guided meditation. See, we're... we have to take a very simple look at this.

When you find yourself in front of a new situation, a beautiful sunset, or at the edge of a river, watching the waters going down calmly, the light reflecting on those waters... at that moment, at that instant, at that unusual moment, something happens inside you, as if suddenly, without any explanation or effort on your part, thought is swept out of you, every thought disappears. And in that moment, you are likely invaded by an instant of Silence, of Truth, of Freedom, of Love, of Complicity, of Oneness with Life. I would call it Meditation. And here, guided Meditation but guided by that Supreme Intelligence, by that Divine Intelligence, by that Consciousness, which, ultimately, is Yourself, because You are not a foreign element, separate from Existence.

In truth, You are the basis of all Existence, because You are Consciousness. This Existence, which is Consciousness, is You, and this contact, in this moment, is not with that sunset or that stream; this contact is, in fact, a contact with yourself, with yourself. To me, this is the vision of Real Guided Meditation, when you are open and receptive to this present moment.

The facilitation, perhaps, that you have while being in a park, or in an open field, or at the edge of a river, or on a beach, is because, in that moment, in a way, thought pattern is broken. And then, you get into that state and you don't know how to explain how it happened, because it is really beyond this "me," this "I" that could explain something; because this is really an "invasion" or evasion of this Intelligence, this Consciousness – this Consciousness arising, emerging, appearing... To me, this is the most beautiful and most extraordinary aspect of this so-called "guided meditation."

Being open, receptive and sensitive to Life as It appears in this moment, here and now, opens you to the space for the guidance of Divine Intelligence, completely sweeping away the egoic sense, completely the sense of a separate identity, of a separate "me," and in that moment you are beyond the mind, beyond the ego.

The time will come when you will realize the depth of it, the beauty of it, as you surrender to moments like this, give yourself to moments like this, within a work of attention on yourself.

What I just exemplified for you, this emergence of Meditation, this "guided Meditation," I speak here of Meditation free of a voice leading you to a meditative process; music, perhaps, leading you into a meditative process. Nothing against that... What I'm saying is that Meditation doesn't need, Real Meditation doesn't need a lead on that level.

Can there be a facilitation? Yes, but you need to go beyond that facilitation. You need to discover how to meditate without any external support from music, from an environment where you have to sit, from a voice...

So Meditation... You may be driving your car, you may be talking to someone, you may be writing something, you may be dealing with some situation externally, but internally, psychologically, you are keeping yourself free from identification with memory processes, with thought processes, bringing this so-called "yesterday" to this moment, the "tomorrow" to this moment.

To be psychologically detached from this time created by thought is basically Meditation. And if you can do that by paying attention to yourself here and now, to any thought that arises, to any feeling that arises, emotion arising, sensation arising, you are putting yourself in a condition beyond guided Meditation itself. That's because now you don't depend on being at the edge of a river, facing a sunset, or on a beach or a lake. You are simply in your office, waiting for the dentist, or you are working in your office, as a doctor, your patient, or you are in your office, or in a factory, or in some other activity and, at the same time, you are aware of yourself, aware of every inner movement arising here and now.

So, I have emphasized a lot the importance of the question of Meditation. So, the question of guided Meditation is a base, perhaps, initially for you, a certain facilitation, but what I want to show you is that this guided Meditation happens already, it has always happened to you, at times like these. You always had moments where you realized that the sense of "I," in that instant, was gone and you were likely invaded by a Space, by a Silence beyond the "sense of person." This moment is the moment of the Flowering of the Truth of your Being, of What You Are.

And I want to invite you to go beyond even this need to be on the bank of a river, or on a beach, or in an open field to experience That; or listening to a song, or repeating a mantra... I am talking about the Meditation that is the Flowering of the Truth about yourself, here and now, in this contact with Life as It shows itself, without being confused with thought, with feeling, with sensation.

So Meditation is That; Meditation is You in your Self; Meditation is You in your Divine Nature, in your Real Nature, which is basically Love, Peace, Freedom, Happiness.

That's what we're talking about within these meetings here, in Satsang, on this channel. If it's interesting, if you think it's important for you, subscribe to the channel and leave your "like," and we'll work on it together. OK?

How to reach Spiritual Awakening? | Spiritual Awakening

Hi folks! Welcome to another meeting here on our channel. The question is: "How to reach Spiritual Enlightenment?" I understand your question. Your question is: "What can be done?" That might be your question: "What can be done to reach Spiritual Enlightenment?" I can tell you what you need to stop doing, and not what you need to.

So, I'll give you the first step to this. The first step isn't one of positive action, but rather in a negative way. That is, you need to stop doing it.

So, what do you need? Step number one is to stop identifying with the egoic mind; this is step number one. However, this first step carries, in itself, two or three more steps forward.

To stop identifying with the egoic mind is something that can be done. But see, this "doing" is "to abandon" this "me," this ego, this "I." That's why I said it's a negative doing, not a positive doing.

In general, the thought you have is always the thought of construction. Human's accomplishments are in terms of constructing. Then, an ideal arises, and that is now a goal, and you pursue this goal and accomplish that. Enlightenment is not something like that. It's not something like an ideal to be pursued and achieved, or conquered. Enlightenment is the Realization of What You are. This is only possible here and now.

Therefore, your doing is not, now, a positive doing; it's an "abandonment." You will abandon the pattern of this ego identity, this pseudo-identity, this false "me," this "person" you believe to be.

This pretends to be you, but it's not You.

The egoic mind is producing within you an idea, an image. It settled itself on this image. It passes as you as this image. So, you believe to be what You are not, since What You are, is impossible for the mind to formulate any idea, any belief, concept, or image about.

So, if your question is "how to reach Enlightenment?" My answer is: abandon the illusion of this false "me" that moves, exactly to accomplish things. It's something inside pretending to be you, moving in this psychological time, which is time constructed by thought.

It is thought that creates the idea of tomorrow, of the objective, of a target to be attained, to be reached. Your Self-Realization work is the work of discarding the ego identity, by the simple and direct self-observation of the egoic mind, with all its movement.

Our work together is in this discarding of the ego identity through this attention, through this self-observation. This discarding is not a positive doing, it is an "abandonment" of this illusion of being someone moving, seeking, trying to reach, trying to attain.

So, what is step number one to Awakening or Enlightenment? What is step number one to reach Enlightenment? Step number one is to abandon the idea or belief of "someone" to achieve, "someone" to conquer, "someone" to reach.

You just stop, here and now, and observe your reactions, your thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, perceptions, and disidentify from them. That is, you disidentify from the mind and disidentify from the body, in a simple and direct way, through self-observation of this movement of psychological conditioning, this movement that is the movement of this false center, this false "me."

Our work together here, on this channel, is exactly that. We are with you, telling you the importance to abandon this illusion, the illusion of this false identity, this false center, this false "me," and we abandon it just through this attention, through this observation.

As it is not a positive action, we are left with the realization, nothing is built anew; we are simply left with what is, here and now. So, it's not an objective, it's not a goal, it's not a target, it's not something to be found, accomplished, or reached in the future. Do you see this?

The beauty of this meeting, the beauty of this work, is that I invite you to simply be, to be What You are, to be What you were born to be, which represents abandoning everything you've been told about who you are, everything that culture, society, the world around you made you believe; and based on this thought you live today and have been living for all these years.

Self-inquiry, self-observation, the disidentification from all this movement of conditioned thought, of a pattern of beliefs, including all idealisms, all fears linked to desires, all this expectation regarding the future for a supposed entity – this " me," this "I."

All of that is examined, all of that is observed, all of that is discarded, then there is a surrender of this false identity, there is an abandonment of this false identity, and it is dissolved because, in reality, it was never there at all. You never existed as a separate entity. You are, always were, and always will be Pure Consciousness, living this Reality of oneness or non-duality, where there is no separation between you and life, between you and God, between you and this supposed world, and all the phenomena of Existence. You are this Consciousness, and It does not change.

So, This is not reached, This is realized, This is enjoyed, This is savored; it is your own Being as Love, Happiness, and Peace. This is what some people call Enlightenment, Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening, or God's Realization. That's it.

Kundalini | The process towards Spiritual Enlightenment

So… a question that came here was: "What about this process of Enlightenment?" See, the process of Enlightenment, what you'd call the process of Enlightenment, it's possible that you refer to what happens to the body and also the mind, to all these changes that occur in the course of this work. Is that it? Because when we talk about the Enlightenment process, we can only be referring to this, to all this psychophysical change, to all this process that takes place within this work.

So, it's possible for changes to happen and it's quite natural for those changes to happen in both body and mind, and that's what we could call the process towards Enlightenment or process towards Spiritual Enlightenment.

But, see, your Being, What You are, isn't within any process. There is no change in What You essentially are, with respect to Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening.

What You are does not change. It is not what You are that changes or undergoes any process. This whole process is a process in this psychological background or this biological structure.

So, the body and mind go through a process indeed; it is natural that they go through a process. Some people call this process "the Awakening of Kundalini," but I want to tell you something here: don't mind studying This since it doesn't matter.

What your body and mind will have to go through, they will go through within this process, but you don't need to understand what that is. This is something that happens naturally once you are turning to this work, which is the work of Awakening, Self-Realization or Enlightenment.

So, it's a natural process in the body and mind, whereas You as Consciousness don't go through any process. Here, all you can do is trust Life, Existence, and everything will happen… everything will happen in a very Intelligent way, under and within this Divine Action, within this Action of Grace.

I see people worried about the phenomena that arise. They say "look, after I started meditating, I started hearing bells, hearing… some things started happening."

So, some processes start happening in the body, like heat, some form of pain at the top of the head, or something like that. However, that isn't necessarily evidence that something needs to happen like this for this Blossoming, for this Realization to happen. Because you can create an equally illusory expectation about it.

So, studying This can create within you the illusion that these signs necessarily precede Awakening, and that is not true. Each case is different. Each mechanism, each body, reacts in a certain way to all this. So, don't mind about this issue of the Awakening process, mind the work of self-investigation, mind the work of self-observation, of the observation of this movement of consciousness, this movement of the mind present here and now.

That's why I haven't talked about it and I don't talk much about it here, because it doesn't matter. All you need to do is to observe your reactions, observe every movement of the mind, psychologically speaking, internally speaking – your reactions, fear, desire, anxiety, worry, the movement of thought producing every form of restlessness… Looking at this and disidentifying from it. The disidentification from this process is something that really matters. Mind lives within this movement. All it knows is this movement, producing thoughts, producing images, producing stories, producing imaginary constructions.

Observing this, directly, must be your work. That's what you have to mind about, not about what the body is going through, not about whatever process the body has to go through when mind is observed, when these reactions of thought arise, when these feelings, these emotions, these thoughts or these imaginations appear.

So, remain disidentified also from the body and mind while facing this so-called "process," because this process is not what You are. What You are does not change. I repeat: What You are is Consciousness. Your work is to become aware of What You are, which is beyond the body and beyond mind, and therefore beyond whatever the body and mind experiences.

So, don't care about any of that! Just ignore it, don't value it, don't overvalue it since you may run the risk of believing in an idea thought formulates about this process, and thus falling into another fantasy, another imagination…

I have seen some people say that they are Awakened, or Self-realized, or Enlightened, precisely because they have, at some point, gone through some kind of process like this. That's yet another great egoic daydream.

Abandon this completely, turn to What You are. This Awakening, this Realization, is the end of the illusion of the sense of separation. It has nothing to do with signs or miracles or any other form of psychic situation that arises because of this so-called "Awakening process" or "process of Enlightenment," because basically, Enlightenment is You in your Being, in your Natural State, free from all contradiction, and all conflict, and all suffering produced by that false center, by this false "me." It's no longer present there. There is no longer the presence of this egoic sense, of this sense of separation.

Thus, Enlightenment is, basically, the end of suffering, life in Love, Freedom, Peace, and Happiness. It is basically that.

The Awakening of Consciousness | Ramana Maharshi, Eckhart Tolle, Nisargadatta

Hello guys! Welcome to another meeting here on our channel. What is Spiritual Enlightenment? This is a frequently asked question... What is Spiritual Enlightenment? Enlightenment is the Awakening of your own Being – this is another expression for the Awakening of Consciousness.

So, Spiritual Enlightenment is the awareness of the Truth about who You are. Thus, put in a straightforward way, it seems very simple. In fact, we are dealing with something simple, but not necessarily easy.

The direct comprehension of This, without all this verbal, intellectual, bookish notion, is really not easy, although the principle is very simple. Spiritual Enlightenment is the recognition of the Truth about who You are, the Truth about You, the Truth of your Being, of your True Nature, What was once realized by Ramana Maharshi, Buddha, by Christ... the Truth of your own Being, your Divine Truth, What was realized by Nisargadatta, by Eckhart Tolle... It's always the Truth You are here and now.

Your Natural State is the State free from fear, free from suffering, free from all psychological conflicts and contradictions, something always present and very common in the egoic mind. So, Enlightenment is You in your Being, free from this egoic mind, this sense of duality or separation, which is basically conflict.

The idea "me and the world," "me and others," is conflict. That's what we're talking about in these meetings. Our talks here are exactly about this. You need to become aware of the Truth about who You are, the Truth of your Being, the Truth of your Divine Nature. Becoming aware of This, the awareness of This, is Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening. If This is assumed, suffering ends; if this is assumed, Real Happiness is comprehended, it is no longer sought in objects, in experiences, in sensations, in desires.

Your Being is Happiness, by nature. Your Being is, by nature, Presence, Consciousness, Intelligence. So, what is Enlightenment? Enlightenment is You in your Being, it's You as Consciousness, it's You as Presence, it's You as Happiness.

It is very common for the egoic experience, for this sense of separation to be experienced as fear, for example. Then, the perspective of fear, the vision of fear, this feeling of fear is something very common. It's based on the illusion of duality, of separateness. When there is this sense of separation, there is necessarily fear, for example.

When there is this sense of separation, there is naturally this existential emptiness. So, states like anxiety, depression, anguish, loneliness, boredom are inherent in this dualistic mind, this separatist mind, this egoic mind.

Is it possible to live free from depression, for example? Yes, because your Real State of Being doesn't know depression. Depression is a psychological state, a state of the egoic mind. In addition to all psychophysical configurations present in this state, there is this strong element of the sense of separation, of the sense of duality, which is the egoic sense.

So, we are dealing with something more than a disease, we are dealing with something with a background, with a base, within this psychological time created by thought, something inherent in this ego identity, in this sense of separation between you and life, between you and the world, between you and others, between you and God.

The Realization of the Truth about who You are is Enlightenment. In this Real, Natural State, there is no envy, there is no jealousy, there is no anxiety, there is no fear, there is no sense of separation, there is no depression.

This is something to be realized by you, within a direct work on yourself, and this is our invitation on this channel. Here, the invitation is for Awakening, for the Realization of your Divine Reality, of your Reality of God, that You are here and now.

If this is something that touches you, take the opportunity to subscribe to the channel. Let's work on this together, because that's our proposal here.

You were born to Realize your Natural State. In your Natural State, there is no separation between You and Life, between You and God. Some call This Enlightenment, some call This Awakening, some call This God's Realization. We are talking about the Truth about who You are, which needs to be assumed, and only You can assume It, because You are That. If you don't assume It, you continue identified with this whole project built around this image that thought has created, that thought has built, imagined, about who you are.

Thus, the idea of who you are, the idea about who you are, it's all a construction of thought, it's an image produced by thought, in its imagination, about you.

You are assuming what you are not, and due to unconsciousness, ignorance, you are rejecting or nullifying the Truth of Being What you were born to Be.

Thus, the presence of this work, which is the presence of the Divine Grace, comes to point out the opportunity for this Blooming, this Awakening for you. That was my experience, my experience, in contact with this work, before my Master, before Ramana Maharshi. Ok? We can stop here. See you at the next opportunity!

How to attain Spiritual Enlightenment? | Self-knowledge

Hi folks! Welcome to another meeting here on our channel. The question is, "how to attain Spiritual Enlightenment? What are the steps to be taken? They are short steps. They are not long steps; they are short steps… I'd say that step number one is to abandon exteriority. It's through self-inquiry, self-observation, abandoning the trust, the belief in thoughts.

This self-observation, this self-inquiry will put you in direct contact with this pattern of psychological conditioning. You have trusted and lived with it for all these years. You must necessarily go beyond the egoic mind, beyond that pattern of psychological conditioning, beyond that false center.

So, the work here starts already with this basis. You need to go beyond trusting thoughts, beyond this trust in this false center, in this false "me." Putting it directly: to go beyond the trust in the "person" you believe to be.

See, you as a person are a set of beliefs. All the programming, all the conditioning that you have received over all these years, made this "person" appear internally, who you believe to be, who has a name, who has a body, shape and image to take care, to protect, with a story – the story of this identity. This identity is not real, it is not true.

Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment is the awareness that there isn't "someone" in this experience called life, "someone" inside the body seeing the world outside where there are people, plants, animals, sky, sun, moon…

This sense of separation between you, who believes to be inside the body, and the body – this body that believes to be inside this planet, this so-called "world" – this belief is a psychological conditioning. This is present because of this confidence you give to all this movement of thought taking place within you.

So, here the basis, the first step, is the awareness of the Truth about who You are, beyond mind. However, to go beyond mind you need to comprehend this whole process. I use the word "comprehend" in the sense of acknowledging, of becoming aware of this whole process of psychological conditioning, of unconscious movement of thought running inside you, creating this division, creating this separation.

This represents leaving this psychological external world, this psychological external world which is what mind does. Mind externalizes the world… the egoic mind separates and externalizes the world to outside of itself, to live a pseudo-truth. This truth is the pseudo-truth of "me," of "I," of ego.

This self-observation will bring the mind back inside. All this energy that was previously lost within this conditioning is now turned to the Source, to be at the service of this attention on yourself, on this awareness of yourself. Then, you can get in touch with the Silence You are here and now internally, outside of this whole psychological conditioning movement.

So, the work of Awakening begins with self-observation, begins with this self-acknowledgement. Through this self-observation, by this self-observation you can come into direct contact with the Truth of your own Being, with your Divine Reality.

So, Enlightenment is this appearance, this emergence, this acknowledgement of What You are, when this sense of "me" is not present. This is the direct realization of the Divine Reality; this is the direct realization of the Reality of God.

So, how to attain Enlightenment? What is step number one? The step number one is this self-observation, which gives you the basis for Self-knowledge, for the end of this illusion of this false center, of this false "me."

With that – in this self-investigation – Stillness, Silence is born. Actually, Silence blooms as something that is already present, appearing as something that is being born, but actually, it is already present. You become aware of the Silence that is You, which is the Silence of Your Being, of your Real Nature, because it happens immediately in this self-observation, the immediate breaking of this pattern; this pattern is broken, there is a breaking of this egoic pattern, an immediate breaking of this psychological pattern of conditioning. When this break happens, the appearance of What You are happens, which is basically Silence. This is what I have called Real Meditation: the complete disidentification with this whole movement of psychological conditioning that makes you trust the story, the image, the memory, the illusion produced by thought.

So, with this breaking, there comes the detachment, the abandonment of this false identity, and the emergence of something entirely new and unknown, which is You in your Being, which is You in your Real Nature.

Thus, I've been saying that step number two is the breaking of this condition, the renunciation of this ignorance; it's the abandonment of this illusion, this sense of separateness, this sense of duality. Here's step number two: the abandonment of the illusion of the sense of separation, of the sense of duality. So, you're abandoning this condition of desire and fear, of conflict and contradiction; thought, image, imagination, story… a renunciation of this false center living in an illusory way, in an imaginary way. The renunciation of this is the appearance of this new condition.

Then, Meditation, which is the blossoming of the Truth about who You are, is something that takes place very naturally. It is not quite a third step, as I have said on my talks, within this process of Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment. Actually, it is the acknowledgement that there is no process; it's just an apparent process for this apparent ego-mind condition. What we have in Meditation is the blossoming of what You already are here and now; it's the end of this illusion of psychological time, of this whole thing engendered by thought, creating this notion of an identity living in time.

There is no time! All we have is What is present here, in this instant, in this moment, as Pure Consciousness, which is You in your Being. To assume This is to be beyond this condition of desire and fear, beyond this condition of ego identity, with all the conflicts that it represents.

This is Enlightenment. This is Self-realization or Spiritual Awakening... Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening or whatever name you want to give This. It's actually You in your Being, You in your State of Pure Consciousness, in your Divine State. That's what we're dealing with you and we can patiently work this out.

The matter of psychological pain - Part I

Hi folks! Welcome to one more meeting here on our channel. Today we are going to talk about the matter of psychological pain. What place, what real space is there for this so-called "psychological pain," for all this internal conflict human beings have lived, human beings are living for a long, long time? And that has been the condition of each one of us until this Awakening.

Thus, Awakening is possible, because, within this possibility of Self-Realization, there's no room for this so-called "psychological pain." We're going to talk about this now.

But first, give your "like," subscribe to the channel, if you haven't already done it, make a comment, and share on WhatsApp. This way, you will be helping this talk, this video, to reach other people, and they will be helped, people who are working on this "thing" or looking for this internal work of Self-Realization. So, give the channel a boost and consider sharing with others, giving strength and helping them in some way. Ok?

Let's continue! This psychological pain… it is about this! What is this psychological pain? We know what physical pain is. It's that pain you feel when there's a cut on your finger or when, in some way, you have your body injured by some object. So, we know what physical pain is. When there's a cut, a wound or injury in the body, it feels pain… injury due to illness… we know what physical pain is. Now, what about psychological pain?

I want to ask you, where in you is there space for this so-called psychological pain? The pain of sorrow, the pain of sadness, the pain of loneliness, the pain of anguish, the pain of rejection, the pain of jealousy, of envy… What room is there for this in your Being? What room for is there in What You are?

So, see, it's not Real! We're dealing with something purely psychological. This egoic sense has cultivated pain. So, pain is something that reaches the ego, reaches this false center, this false identity, it's not something that reaches your Being, it's not something that reaches You.

Thus, you need to comprehend this in a quite clear way. As long as you remain identified with the ego, identified with what thought has built around this character you believe to be, psychological pain will remain.

This psychological pain has no real basis, it's something produced by thought, produced by these images thought builds inside you, about you. I've called this "self-image." The image you have of yourself, the image you have of others. This self-image, this image you formulate imaginarily about who you are, is the image subjected to this pain. It's the one that is hurt, that is wounded, that sees itself in suffering.

So, that's the only room of pain within you. As this self-image is not Real, as it's part of this imaginary world of thought, this psychological pain isn't Real.

This work of Self-Realization reveals to you the Truth of your Being, the Truth of your Divine Nature, the Truth of what You are. Our work here is to explore this, to carefully approach and learn how to look directly at what's going on inside us.

So, the expression "self-inquiry" or "self-observation" is something quite important within this context.

Once you observe yourself, you recognize in yourself the illusory basis of this psychological pain, be it jealousy, envy, anxiety, worry, sorrow, resentment, hatred... Once you can see the illusory basis on which these expressions of feelings, emotions, sensations… once you can see this basis, you can break up with this structure.

The basis for this is this self-image, the basis for this is this false center, it's this false "me," it's this illusion you've been cultivating in this idea of being "someone," who owns things, "someone" who can lose things, "someone" who cannot be forgotten, who cannot be abandoned, who needs to be loved, who needs to be acknowledged… We're dealing, basically, with fiction: the fiction, the illusion of self-image. That's the egoic condition of this "person," of this "sense of person" we carry with us.

Therefore, the basis of this work of Self-Realization is to observe this mistaken movement, this contradictory movement of thought.

To look at this is to be able to really break up with this pattern of pain, with this pattern of external confusion. So, this is our work in Satsang. Satsang means association with the Truth, meeting who You are. We have the opportunity to look at this and to deepen this work in ourselves, as we become aware, conscious, of how false this egoic self-defense is.

What kind of flags have we been raising and lifting? What kind of a situation have we been upholding, defending, protecting?

See, this is all about this false center, the illusion of that center – a false center with totally false idealisms. But, we have been upholding this through inattention, through unconsciousness, through this mechanical, unconscious pattern of life we are living.

The invitation, in Satsang, is the invitation to Liberation from this pain, to Liberation from this suffering, from this psychological suffering.
