What is introspection? Personal development. Observer and the observed. Observing oneself

Here with you I would like to investigate a subject. Is it true that we really need personal development? What is a person developing? What is this thing that we call someone, me, I? What is the truth about the person? You have an image, a construct, inside your head, about this someone, about this me, about this I, about the person you believe yourself to be.

You may say: "No, I need to develop myself, because I need to be a better version of myself". Note that these statements may seem quite reasonable, but from the moment you investigate, get closer to look at this issue closely - and the question is: what is the truth about this me, about this I, about this person - when you do this, it becomes clear to you that this sense of person is a set of conclusions, opinions, beliefs, ideas and, therefore, a mere imagination about you.

And do we really need this person, who is a mere mental construct, a mere imagination that we have about ourselves? Do we need this person expanding, growing, evolving? After all, what does this mean? What is the meaning of this? Here, another question is about this issue of introspection. Some people ask: "What is introspection and what is its importance, what is its value?" This introspection is something strictly linked to this idea of ??a person in development, in order to develop.

Introspection is looking inside oneself to improve as a person. But who is this element that looks inside oneself? Isn't this an idea? Isn't it also a thought, a belief? Isn't this so-called person looking at oneself? And what can they apply to themselves from this introspection that could truly bring about a deep and radical change in themselves? What would it be? What could they apply? Self-discipline, borrowed knowledge, in an attempt to adapt to them, creating new habits, new patterns of behavior?

Notice, here, with you, we are investigating exactly the nature, the structure of the person. The person is, in fact, the "I," this "me." And what is this "me"? As we have just said: a set of ideas, beliefs, conclusions, opinions, an image that thought within you has been constructed about you. When you are praised, it is the person that feels happy, you swell up like a balloon; but when you are criticized, censured, rejected, you feel sad, unhappy or angry. This is the movement of the person.

But what exactly is this movement of the person? An image, just an image; an image that thought has established about who you are, and you are confusing yourself with it, experiencing moments of pleasure and pain, of joy and sadness, of feeling loved, of feeling rejected, and all of this is within the subjection of this construct of thought, which is this self-image.

Here, together, we are discovering the beauty of discarding this self-image and, therefore, discarding this illusion, which is the illusion of this "me," this "I," this someone, because, in fact, we do not need a better version of this "me," we do not need a better version of ourselves. What we need, in life, is the awareness of the beauty of Life. The beauty of Life consists in the vision of life without illusions. Thought in us is the element of illusion. Thought in you is the idea, the belief, the concept, a mental formulation.

When you have a thought, you have not the thing, you have the imagination of it. Every thought is based on illusion. I invite you to do the following now: see how simple it is. Right now, there is a rabbit there, on your table; it has just sat down and is looking at you. It has two huge ears, it is there, sitting next to you, looking at you. When you hear this, what happens inside you? Look, here is the rabbit.

When you hear something or see something, at that moment, the brain receives it as a stimulus. Upon receiving this stimulus, the brain reproduces this vision within itself. See, you are not seeing the rabbit, or you were not seeing it, but now you see it, because you have just received a word, a suggestion, a thought that has come to you. Since the brain knows rabbit, it had no difficulty at all, and now it is there, sitting. See, this suggestion that we receive from thought makes us see things that do not exist, makes us feel things that are not here.

So, what is the truth about thought? Thought in us deals with illusion. The word chair is not that piece of furniture with four legs where you sit. But when we use the expression "chair," thought recognizes this expression and, immediately, thought builds a chair. Now you have a chair, there it is the chair. And now you have a place to put this little rabbit sitting. See, what is the truth of thought? Thought is not the thing, but it constructs the thing; and after it constructs the thing, you believe in it. And who are you, believing in that? A self-image.

So, our psychological life, which is the life of the "I," is the life of this self-image - this is the person. The person, a construct of thought, this self-image, this person, has a chair with a rabbit sitting there. Our psychological world is the world of the "I"; based on this world of the "I" we are living our lives. This life is the particular idea of ??life for this person. We are living within a psychological context of existence.

Can we get in touch with life as it is, without this model of thought, without this construct of this identity, which is the "I," and with its chair, its rabbit, and this whole psychological world constructed by thought, established in us based on beliefs, opinions, conclusions, evaluations? In this Realization, there is the end of this conditioned mind, this psychological condition of belief, of egoic identity, of the presence of a person.

This is what we are here for investigating with you: the comprehension that what you observe is part of you - there is no separation between what you are seeing and what you are - the truth that the one who observer, being an observer, is before what is observed, not as something separate from him, but as something that is part of himself. This real comprehension that the observer is the very thing he is observing is the basis for the end of this illusion, which is the illusion of thought, which is the illusion of the mind as we know it. This is the end of this hypnotic state that is given to us from the model of thought, which we have received from this culture, this society, this model of the world.

Life based on thought is life in disorder, confusion and suffering. We do not need the person to develop oneself. We need the end of this illusion, this imagination, this construct of thought in us, which is the idea of ??a person. This person is creating his world; this person is the observer with his observed thing, he is not separate from his world. This world is part of him; he is the illusion. His presence is the presence of his world, it is the presence of his illusion.

Here, together, we are discovering what life is like free from the "I," free from ego, free from the person; free from the person, free from this chair, free from this rabbit, free from this world of the person. It is in this world of the person that stress, anxiety, fear, anger, various worries, various forms of confusion, suffering, and anguish are present. It is present in this world of the person to love some and hate others. This is the world of the ego, it is the world of behavior centered on the "I." All this egocentric activity of human behavior is something that is based on the model of thought, on thought constructs.

Thus, we are living within an illusion, which is the illusion of this "I," which is the belief of this observer separate from the observed thing, this observer is the observed thing. The end of this observer is the awareness of life as it is, without the model of thought, without the model of the "I," without the model of the ego. So, what we need in life is not introspection or personal development; what we need in life is the awareness of this self-observation. Observing oneself is putting an end to this psychological condition of ego-identity, of illusory separation between this observer and the observed thing. This is the end of this separation, this duality.

The awareness of your Being is the awareness of God, it is the awareness of Real Life, it is the awareness of Love, of Freedom, of Happiness. This is what some call Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening. It is the Truth of this Being, which is the Truth of God. When This is present, these constructs, which are the constructs of thought, creating an artificial life for an artificial center, for an artificial identity, for this so-called person, no longer exist.

The Flourishing of your Real Nature, the Flourishing of your Divine Nature is the awareness of God, the only Reality present, which Reveals itself when this model of thought is no longer constructing imaginations, constructing its own particular world to live in, seeing itself as a separate element of it, having control over all of this. This is the illusion of the ego, this is the illusion of the "I," this is the illusion of thought.

This is what we are here for, to delve deeper into these online meetings on the weekends. We have two days together working on the Awakening of Consciousness, of this Real Consciousness, which is the Truth of God. Here, in the video description, you can find our WhatsApp link to participate in these online meetings on the weekends. In addition to these meetings, we also have in-person meetings and retreats. If this is something that makes sense to you, here is an invitation. Leave your like here, subscribe to the channel, and leave a comment saying: "Yes, that makes sense." Ok? And we'll see you soon. Thanks for the meeting and see you next time!
