Duality | How to find God | Meditation: what is it? | Learning about Self-Awareness

Here, this direct comprehension, this real comprehension, is the presence of a perception in life where the element that separates itself to perceive is absent. And why is this essential? This is essential because, when this quality of perception is present, without this "me," this "I," this "person," life reveals itself as it is, and not as thought within us imagines.

Why is this learning about Self-awareness fundamental to going beyond this vision of duality, where there is the presence of life and our particular vision? Duality is this way of looking at life from this center. The center is the person, the "me," the "I." Is it possible to go beyond this, to a real life, free from this duality and, therefore, a life free from this old pattern of merely superficial changes that we generally cultivate and dedicate ourselves to?

We want to have changes in life, and in fact, we have these superficial changes, these peripheral changes, but life remains confused, chaotic, disordered, complicated, and burdened with problems. This happens because there is no real change, no real transformation in this center. Here, this transformation in the center is its end, it is the disappearance of this center, which is the "I," the ego.

A life where we no longer cultivate peripheral, superficial changes is a life where we are no longer maintaining, continuing this "I." This is what we are working on with you here, talking to you about a real possibility, a profound change, a significant break in this psychological condition, in this psychological structure of the "I," of the ego. Real life happens, it is present here when we are free from this center, free from this illusion.

Therefore, we have to stop nurturing this memory, stop nurturing this continuity of a model of someone in time; this present someone who "I am." When, for example, you say: "yesterday I was that, today I am this, and tomorrow I will be something else," you imagine what you will be tomorrow, you have the memory of what you once were and, at this moment, you imagine what you are.

Thus, the idea, which is the presence of thought, falsifies the reality of what you truly are. What you are, you do not know, because you are living in this principle of separation, of duality, in this idea of ??becoming, in this idea about who you were. The presence of thought is the presence of imagination. There is no thought in you without memory.

Memory is the record of past experiences that you keep, that you possess. This is in this brain structure; it is simply recollection. It is not the Truth about You, it is the truth of this "I." I would say it is the truth about you that thought has constructed, that the mind has established in this conditioning; it is not the Truth of this Being, which is the Real Nature about You, the Reality of this Being that is You.

Why have we insisted on this here? Because we need to hear a lot about it; because we spend a lot of time. The entire world structure we live in sustains in each of us this old model of belief in separation, in duality. It is God present, yet distant. Notice, God omnipresent, but distant. Observe the contradiction in our language-in our common language and in our religious language.

If Divine Reality is omnipresent, He cannot be far away, He cannot be distant, and yet we believe, through thought, that there is a present reality and it is distant from me. "I am someone now, I was someone in the past and I will be someone in the future; I will be different from what I am today, as I am different today from what I was yesterday." And parallel to this, we have the truth of God which, despite being omnipresent, is distant.

Thus, we create the belief of having an encounter with God, the thought, the imagination of one day, or at some point, having this encounter, which requires the presence of time, which requires distance between you and God. That which is real is present here as true omnipresence, this Reality being That which is eternal, That which is beyond this notion of space, that is, of distance and time.

Therefore, the question is: "How to find God?" Observe how people approach this question; It's an issue they can't resolve because they want to resolve it based on the idea that they exist as entities separate from God and that they need to have an encounter with Him, and that for this they need skill, technique, ability-what people call spiritual search, spirituality.

What people call meditation technique or practice, all of that involves the issue of someone being present in an exercise, in a practice, in a model of encounter, based on an image of a future encounter. Here we are always returning to basic matters and looking at them from new angles.

We are faced here with a not simple communication, one that requires a quality of listening from each of us that we also lack. These matters need to be investigated, and they are investigated when we listen, when we put our attention on listening. Therefore, this is fundamental. When we know how to listen, we have a direct perception of that listening.

When a bird sings and you listen, in that listening the totality of that sound is revealed, and this finds such a profound intensity when we put our attention on listening that, so that, at that moment, the individual listening to the sound disappears. There is only the singing, the bird; there is only listening to the bird. There is no one listening, there is no bird singing. It is only the singing, it is only listening. At that instant, the brain quiets down, the mind silences, and the Truth of that moment is revealed.

Therefore, this encounter with the moment here, within this context of speech, when we place ourselves to listen, is not to agree or disagree, it is not to approve or disapprove of what is being said. When we listen, the one who speaks loses importance, the one who listens loses importance; listening becomes important.

When we have this listening, because the brain has quieted, because the mind has silenced, at that moment we face a space that opens up; this space reveals the absence of separation. The revelation of the end of this separation, where only the instant is occurring, only the moment is happening, reveals That which is beyond the mind, beyond thought, beyond this model of conditioning duality. This is part of learning about ourselves, this is part of learning about Self-awareness, this is part of learning the art of being, which is Meditation.

Therefore, when the question is: "What is Meditation?" Meditation is that which is present here revealing itself in this instant as the only Reality. There is no separation between the instant of meditation and someone living this instant, the instant of Meditation and the experience of God here in Meditation. The Reality of this instant is this Divine experiencing. The Reality of Meditation is not someone experiencing it, it is the presence of this Revelation.

Notice that when we delve deeper into these questions, we begin to realize that this listening is Meditation, and that Meditation is the presence of this perception, this real encounter with God, and that this real encounter with God is not something separate from this vision of the Truth of this Being that we are, which is revealed in this learning about ourselves. And all this is within a single context; this context is the Revelation of Life here.

There is no other place but here. There is no other time, there is no such thing as yesterday or tomorrow. From a psychological point of view, we are dealing with an imagination when we speak of this yesterday and this tomorrow. Therefore, there is no other time; what we call time is, in reality, the absence of time in this now. Now, here, there is no time.

Divine Revelation, the Revelation of this encounter with God, is not someone who left this point, which is point A, for point B, which requires the presence of space, which requires the presence of time. This encounter is the Revelation of That which is present here outside of time. This Reality is the Eternal, the Indescribable, the Unnamable, the Divine Truth. Any name for this Reality is just a name, a word, an expression.

Unfortunately, we cling to words because we love having ideas; it is based on these ideas that the movement of the "I," of the ego, is sustained. This is our love for ideas; it is the love that a person actually has for their own continuity. Can we dispense with, from our lives, the idea of ??someone present who sustains themselves in this model of existing as a person because they are bound to every model of belief, conclusion-which is basically thoughts and ideas-for a new, free brain, for this contact with the instant without the need of this background of knowledge, of experience, which lives by sustaining itself in this recognition, which sustains itself in this continuity of time?

Note that this time, as we know it in thought, is psychological time, it is the time that thought has produced. So, the mind within you, this "I-mind," this egoic mind, this conditioned mind, is a product of time, because it is the result of memories, of recollections, of things that happened in the chronological past. Something happened yesterday-I'm referring to that calendar yesterday-and the brain registered it as a memory.

We are cultivating this quality of memory and thus sustaining the illusion of a present identity that lived that yesterday; this entity is inseparable from thought itself, from memory itself. But what exactly is this memory, this thought? At this moment, it is merely an imagination. Thus, this identity that arises with this memory is also part of imagination. Follow this calmly.

Life here is Divine Reality; in It, there is no such thing as you and it, you and God. It is when thought arises, creating in the imagination an identity, which is the "I" that lived that, so that illusion is present. Is it possible to have life simply happening as it is, without this need for this psychological record that sustains the illusion of a psychological identity, which is this background, this center, this ego?

Then, this moment reveals Divine Truth, the truth of God. This is the result of learning about ourselves. Then, there is a clear vision that this "me" is not real, this "I" is something that thought has fabricated, that it is sustaining, feeding, and cultivating. Life free from the "I," free from this center, free from the ego, is life free from the model of psychological time.

So, there is no longer an element here concerned with what one was or what one will be; there is no longer an element here to feel offended, sad, angry, worried, or afraid in relation to him or her. This is the end of psychological suffering, when we have the end of the "I," in this contact with life, with the other. In this very contact with the body and mind, when there is no illusory presence of an identity that manifests itself through imagination, your contact with the body, with the mind, with the other, with life is a contact free from duality, from separation.

This discovery is the realization of Life as it is. We no longer have the idea of ??what it needs to be, what it should have been, and what it will be, because we no longer have the illusion that life is separated into past, present, and future. This notion is typical of this illusory center, this ego-identity, this "I" created by imagination. What there is here, at the moment, is the presence of Life; It is the presence of this Being, It is the presence of God. You were born for this Revelation, for this Awareness.
