In
this work, we are bringing to you the direct observation there is
something that remains present, something open to the Unknown. This
is what we address to you in Satsang.
Some call this as the present Reality here and now, open to the
Unknown, as Consciousness, while others call it Presence. It is in
This where every experience is written, where every experience
appears. We are talking about the Reality of your Being, the Reality
of your Divine Nature.
This
work is meant to bring you closer to this Vision about who You truly
are. In fact, This is something already so close, so evident that,
for the great majority, it goes unnoticed. It is something so close
that it cannot be known as an object. It is such an intimate thing,
so real, that it is the Truth of each one of us, the unique Truth
about yourself. The recognition of This is Happiness. Non-recognition is
confusion, suffering and fear.
The
mind alienates you from who you are. This state is confusion,
suffering and fear. The
Realization of the Truth about yourself is this remembrance of your Real
and True Identity. It is not a private identity, personal, individual
one. It is something that reveals itself as the Wholeness or as the
Nothingness.
In
this work, you find out the beauty of Meditation, which is the direct
path to this Realization. Meditation, Self-investigation,
surrender... It seems we are talking about three things, although, in
fact, we are talking about only one thing. The Truth about yourself is
something completely natural, effortless. It is something that is
constantly shining, in any and every experience, beyond the mind,
beyond this limitation of the self-image, which is the idea you have
about yourself.
What
I am saying is that this Reality is something always present.
However, it is out of the time, beyond this sense of “now.” It is
something timeless. Everything else in your life comes and goes. Some
things had come and have already gone away, other things will come
and will also go away, but This remains immutable.
Notice
that we are pointing out something that does not vary. Your personal
experience, private one, in this ego-identity, is always changing.
What today gives you joy, pleasure and satisfaction; tomorrow it is
going to bring you worry, suffering and anxiety. Some things give you
“happiness” now, but tomorrow these same things will give you
worry, unhappiness and some sort of suffering. This is the experience
of the mind, which gives identity to what appears at this moment,
passing as the agent. Then you become active or passive before the
experience in this belief of being a present identity living this.
Our
work in Satsang
is for you to improve your vision, to recognize this timeless
Consciousness, this Presence that is outside the mind, which is out
of the image of a present experiencer. It is when you can find out,
in your Being, in your Real Nature, that you are not an experiencer.
This is the liberation from the attempt to hold onto, to be attached
to yourself, to attach yourself to what comes and goes.
We
have neglected this because we are attached to the illusion of an
experiencer on his/her experience, on his/her model of life centered
on this ego-identity. You put too much emphasis on the mind, on the
egoic centered model of the illusion of this separate identity. What
I am saying is that the answer to the true Freedom and Happiness is
not there. This has created the illusion of the idea of someone able
to accomplish something and to be in the control. The agent’s idea
in the control, whether active or passive form, is a very strong
conditioning in this mental state of confusion. This is something
common to all. However, you are not in control of anything!
I
repeat it: the answer is not in this model. There is an “open gate”
that points to Freedom, but it is in another direction. The sun goes
on shining, but it is above the clouds of the mind with its beliefs,
concepts, ideologies, dreams and projections.
The
Truth, the Reality is beyond the known, and naturally beyond the mind
and everything that is part of it. Beyond its imaginary field. If the
sun can shine above the clouds, it does not worry about them. It is
above it. It does not depend on them for anything. This Consciousness,
this Presence is never touched by feelings, thoughts, emotions,
sensations and experiences. The problem with this “sense of a
person” is that it is neglecting the Truth of his/her own Being,
for his/her interests are attached to the matters of the mind.
In
the mind, it is not possible to see this “gate” and the real
direction of Freedom, of Happiness. Among these clouds, it is not
possible to realize the dimension of the reality of the sun, which is
far beyond them.
When
you come to Satsang, we work on the direct recognition of this
“gate,” which is in the other direction, which is in the
direction of Freedom, of the direct recognition of this Light, of
this Love present in the Sun of the Truth, beyond the limitation of
the mind.
