"It is of fundamental importance that we study this here with you-this question of psychological time. Observe that the model of thought in you moves between what was and what will be. Observe that thought in you does not occupy itself with what is here; it occupies itself with the interpretation of what is here based on what was or based on what will be. What was is the imagination of what occurred; what will be is the imagination of what will happen, may happen, or not.
The foundation, the basis is the presence of thought-the presence of the past and the future. We use the expression 'present' for that which is here, but our greater inclination is always to transform that which is here into something based on a reference of what was and what will be. Thus, our great mental occupation-in this consciousness of the 'I,' which is the presence of the person, of this 'me' that 'I am'-is the occupation of this time. This is the movement of psychological time.
And why do we call it psychological time? Because it is something that involves the psychic model of being someone. When we have the presence of this someone-of this being someone-we have the presence of the past, the present, and the future. You, as someone, as a person, are always either in the past or in the future. There is nothing here, in this instant, for the person. Observe your internal occupation; this occupation is the movement of thought.
Thus, the movement of thought establishes time present. We do not have the presence of the future nor of the past without the presence of thought. Without the presence of thought, we do not have time; and without time, there is not the person. Notice how fundamental this is, having this direct vision, this direct perceiving that there is no such thing as a person.
Our belief, our certainty is that we are here, but here exactly where? Since this time is something that thought is producing between the past and the future. Therefore, the very idea of the present-where this 'here' is happening for this 'I'-is a belief; it is an imagination; it is a suggestion of thought itself.
Therefore, the foundation, the structure-exactly where this person is grounded in-is something entirely false. There is no such thing as someone here, as a person present. There is only Life happening. Look, this is not an intellectual conclusion; it is a direct observation of the facts, of that which is present here showing itself, exactly as this is. We need a quiet mind, a silent brain for this perception.
This is why, in life, that which we have of greatest importance consists in the awareness that reveals God, because God is the only Reality present; a Reality present beyond the idea of past, present, and future. The only Reality-which is Life itself-is Divine Reality. And the awareness that reveals This is the presence of this learning about Self-Awareness; this reveals to you, directly, the Reality of this Being that You are, which is God.
When there is this learning about Self-Awareness, which requires this looking at the moment without thought and, therefore, without time, because the past and the future no longer exist, we come across the answer to the question 'What is Meditation?' Thus, Meditation, what is it? Meditation is that which is present here revealing the Truth of the moment as the only Reality that reveals itself here, in that which is outside time, outside thought, and this, naturally, is outside the known.
So, what is Meditation? Meditation, what is it? It is the presence of this comprehension of the moment, which is timeless, which is outside time. This is our true encounter with God. To the question 'How to find God?', here is the answer: in this awareness of Being, which is Meditation. When thought is not, the 'I' is not, time is not, what is present is Divine Truth.
Here, the good news is that this is the Truth about You. To become aware, in life, that this particular life is not real-this particular life of the person is the presence of imagination that thought has established-to become aware, in life, that the mind as it happens, laden with desires, fears, apprehensions, yearnings, worries, various anxieties, all kinds of conflict and problems, to become aware that we can live life without this quality of mind, which is the conditioned mind, this is indeed good news.
The mind in its Natural State-not the mind in this common general state, in this context of conditioning of human consciousness, of egoic consciousness-the mind in its Natural State is Silence; it is Freedom; it is Quietude. Thus, there is a space present; in this space is Life. Observe that the human being has been for millennia in search or in the quest for God-but it is the God that thought has established in its belief; the God who is far away, distant; the God taught by organized religions.
Thus, there is this person that 'I am' to have an encounter with God there, in the future. Once again, here we have the presence of time, the idea of time, the belief in time. Notice: Truth cannot be within time. Divine Reality cannot be part of time, it would be limited to time. That which is Real-God, the Supreme, That Which is Truth-is the Unknown. By nature, by structure, it needs to be something beyond the known and, naturally, indescribable and timeless.
Our discovery, our verification is the realization that reveals the Truth of this Being. It is not someone having this realization; it is Truth being assumed. You do not go to Reality; Reality comes and reveals itself to You. It reveals itself to you, not to someone. The Revelation of Truth to You is the Revelation that You, in your Being-not in this mind, which is the egoic mind; not in this mind within that which thought knows and recognizes in each one of us; not in this mind involved with the time that thought has established, which is the notion of past, present, and future. The Revelation of Truth is not for the person; it is not for the mind.
When the mind silences, and it silences when it realizes that nothing can be done... Every single movement is the movement of thought; it is the movement of the mind itself. Thus, the mind needs this silence, this space; it needs this quietude. When it does not move-because it has become clear that every single movement is still the movement of time, because it is the movement of thought-here this comprehension of the Truth of this Being reveals itself.
Therefore, what is this Learning about Self-awareness? It is this quality of looking, of listening, of perceiving without the movement of thought, therefore, without the movement of the past. Observing our reactions, becoming aware of envy, of jealousy, of fear, of anger, of worries, of every single internal psychological state arising, becoming aware of this without getting involved, just verifying, observing, listening, perceiving without interfering with this. In this instant the brain quiets; the mind, in fact, silences, and this psychological condition dissolves.
It is when something new reveals itself in this space, which is the presence of Bliss, of Happiness, of Freedom, of absence of suffering, because there is no longer the sufferer; absence of conflict, because there is no longer someone in conflict. This is the absence of fear, of envy, of jealousy, of this illusion of possessing, of controlling. This is the end of the illusion of an identity present establishing itself here because it came from the past, establishing itself here and going to the future to obtain things.
Your Real encounter with Life is the encounter with God. You do not need what thought has established in this conditioned mind, this idea of what you, as someone, need. This someone, this conditioned mind, this thought is a single illusory movement of being, arrogant, that moves in this movement of psychological time. To perceive directly these reactions without interfering; to listen directly to that which takes place within you, and also externally, without getting involved with this, this ends time; this ends the 'I'; this puts an end to the ego.
Therefore, the Beauty of this Realization consists in the comprehension that there is no one-no one for the movement, no one for the practice of meditation. Notice, at no point have we spoken here of someone practicing meditation. We have a playlist on the channel speaking about this. There is no such thing as Meditation, in a real way, within a practice. Real Meditation is the awareness of the moment in a practical, experiencing way. Moment by moment, not sustaining the continuity of the past, not feeding an identity that looks to the future from thought, this is the presence of Meditation in practice.
It is not a matter of a practice of meditation for someone to perform and obtain, with the practice of meditation, some result. The presence of Life is the presence of God; it is the Truth of Being. Here I refer to Life, not that which thought interprets, from comparisons and evaluations. Life for the 'I,' for the 'ego,' in this movement of psychological time, is made of interpretations, of choices, predilections, liking, not liking, wanting, not wanting. There is this sustaining of the idea of what should be, of what could have been, or of how it will be.
The foundation is always the 'coming to be,'it is not this Being, That Which is present here beyond time, while Truth here is present beyond time. Illusion sustains itself in the thought of what should be, of what could have been, or of what will be. Follow this calmly, investigate and look closely. All these meetings that we have here are for this investigation, for this discovery, for this verification.
So, when the mind is free, when there is no longer this movement between what was and what will be, when this psychological time is eliminated, the idea of an identity is no longer. Then, to deal with the instant without someone present is the presence of an Intelligence in this brain, in this mind. This quality of mind is beyond the mind as we know it. At some moments I call this non-mind. This quality of Consciousness now present I have called Real Consciousness, but, in truth, it is something beyond Consciousness, of this Consciousness. It is something Indescribable, the presence of Truth, the presence of this Being, the presence of God.
There is no such thing as a separation; there is no such duality between You and Life, between You and the other, between You and God. It is thought that establishes, from this sense of person, from this 'me,' this 'I,' this one that arises as the one who compares, judges, accepts, rejects, likes, and does not like. It is the presence of the person, of this 'me,' of the 'I,' of the ego, this illusory center that looks from all this interpretation of thought, which has its foundation in time, in this pattern of psychological time.
Your true Revelation is the Revelation of That which is You when the sense of the 'I' is not. Thus, it is not a matter of a movement to achieve, but of a direct looking to perceive that which is present here and now. And what is present here and now transcends all this notion of here and now.
This is what we are here working on with you in these meetings. We have two days in an online format: Saturday and Sunday. I want to leave an invitation here for you. Besides these online meetings that we have on weekends, we have in-person meetings and also retreats. If what you have just heard is something that makes some sense to you, then here is an invitation. Leave your "like", subscribe to the channel and put a comment here: 'Yes, this makes sense.' Okay? And we will see each other. Thanks for the meeting and until next time!"
