In general, human beings aren’t interested in This – who we truly are. They want to accomplish something out there. They don't realize that what we need is already here and now, in What we are. Thus, the Understanding about us is the Revelation of Truth, of the True Life in Bliss. But, in general, human beings don't know that, and they don't have the commitment, the interest, in discovering something like what we are dealing with here on the channel.
Here, on our channel… here, our purpose together… This channel is your channel of the Revelation of the Truth about who You are. And this channel here on YouTube and this work that takes place in online meetings – we have online and in-person meetings too; we even have retreats to work on it together – This work is like a mirror to show you your face. So, this is our channel, our meeting here, to discover the Truth about who we are.
Most human beings live in a state of confusion, restlessness, emotional and psychological disorder, and unhappiness. This restlessness puts them in a permanent search for something so that they can achieve that Peace. For not being informed about the value of Self-awareness, Self-realization, and God Realization, they are looking for This out there and not in themselves.
Truth is found nowhere else but in Yourself. Thus, our purpose here, the purpose of this meeting, is to show you, in this mirror that is this work, your True Face.
Now, there are some very important things to look at here. The first one is that we can’t ignore the presence of the mirror if, in fact, we are willing to look and see the Truth about ourselves, about who we are.
So, the first thing here is to know that the mirror is faithful in showing us what is being reflected there. So, when we stand in front of this mirror, we really need to look and recognize this confusion, disorder, restlessness, fear, and ignorance about life, God, the other, and ourselves… to look and see this reflection, investigate, approach, without running away from it.
Then, this is a very important aspect of this confrontation, in facing yourself. So, the real way to approach Self-awareness is to look without the interference of ideas, beliefs, or opinions. It’s not your opinions, my opinions, my beliefs or your beliefs, your ideas or my ideas, but rather what we have here in front of the mirror. It’s what is being reflected that is being seen. Looking at this is fundamental! Let’s not argue with the mirror, let’s just become aware of it, perfectly aware of what is showing and appearing. What we lack is to look at that mirror, to look at ourselves.
Here, I have something to add about this true look: it’s not looking to censure, criticize, condemn, judge yourself, or feel pity for yourself. Self-pity is not part of this work of Self-awareness or self-investigation. This self-compassion is not part of this work of observing the movement of the “I,” “me,” of the ego. This is a real approach to the Truth about who we are; it’s not an idea about it, it’s a real approach.
So, looking at this is the first thing. And the second thing is not to put the sense of an “I” present in that looking. Now we are faced with the most delicate, difficult part of this approach, because we have, as a principle, the idea that we need to improve, change, we need self-improvement. So, based on that, we have an ideal of how we should be and we're not; where we need to go since we haven't arrived yet; what are the virtues we must develop because we still don't have.
Get this here within this meeting: self-improvement and self-development don’t apply here. It’s not about self-improvement, not about a change, getting out of these vices to virtue. This ideal of the future, this objectification of the future, doesn’t apply here. So, it’s not about self-development or self-improvement. It’s not about acquiring virtues, getting rid of vices, getting into a system of discipline, so-called “spiritual,” so that a change occurs in this “me,” in this “I”. It’s not that!
Looking at what we are here and now, without putting the sense of “someone” present in that look – this is enough. Seeing the Truth of what is, brings about True Transformation. It’s not the transformation of the “I.” It’s the Transformation, the end or break of this model of the “I.” If this model of “me” is broken, Transformation takes place. It’s the looking that reveals the Truth that liberates, not the effort toward an ideal of freedom that liberates. Can you see the difference?
When you see the movement of the mind, just looking, “being aware,” being aware of it, remaining free from a positive or negative identification with that experience… What I mean is, without agreeing… When you agree, you identify with what thought says; when you disagree, you judge or reject what thought says. So, without agreeing or disagreeing, without identifying with – which is when you agree – and without rejecting thought – which is when you disagree… Just looking at the movement of thought, without giving an identity to judge, condemn, accept, or reject. This is enough.
To look in this way is to look without the background, without the “I,” without putting an identity present. So, what applies here to thought also applies to a feeling, an emotion, and a prejudice. Once aware of it, just in that looking, without giving an identity to it, there’s a Revelation of Something that is beyond this separateness, this duality, this “I” that “doesn't like this,” this “I” that “likes this.” So, there’s a break in this illusion of separateness between this “I” and that experience, that thought, that feeling, that prejudice, or that given thing, it doesn't matter.
So, the basis is Self-awareness indeed. A real approach to Self-awareness is present when the sense of “I” doesn’t take part in observation. The pure and direct observation, without “someone” to observe, the looking without “someone” to look, the listening to what is present here without “someone” to listen... full, complete attention to this experience, without the sense of the “I,” the ego, the “me,” present here.
So, this Mindfulness, this Real Mindfulness to what arises, what shows itself here, in this mirror, without that element in us that is always appearing to judge, criticize, condemn, compare, reject... but just observe it. This observation dispels this illusion. Something unprecedented, outside the model of the known mind, the mind within its model of continuity. This is the continuity model of the egoic mind, a model always in this so-called psychological time. It’s here that the illusion of this ego-identity is perpetuated, for this “person” with whom you mistake yourself, you believe you are.
Then, there’s a change, an end to it here and now! It’s when that Reality of your Being shows itself as Pure Consciousness, Pure Intelligence. So, we are touching here with you on the Art of Meditation since Meditation is being aware of yourself here and now, when there is that looking, and this is seen. Only in that look is all this seen. At that moment, there’s an emptying of all this psychological content, this set of beliefs, knowledge, experiences, memories, remembrances, all this context of a present identity always moving in this psychological time.
The “I” is the one that moves between the past, present, and future. This “past, present, and future” is constituted by psychological time. This psychological time is an illusion created by thought and sustained by an identity that seems to move. So, the illusory sense is that you’re here to accomplish something tomorrow; you’re coming from the past, you’re in the present, moving towards the future. What you didn't accomplish yesterday, the illusion is that you can accomplish today, and if you can't accomplish today, you still have tomorrow to accomplish it.
And here I mean, psychologically… In the psychological sense, the idea is to become “someone,” to improve, to be better. It’s always a proposal in this ego identity, which moves in time. Yes, in a way, the sense of “I” can improve, can expand, can abandon certain vices and acquire certain virtues, can improve, but that’s not what we are talking about here. We’re not talking about the self-improvement of the “I” since no matter how much the “I” improves or gets better, as long as there’s a sense of the “I,” there’ll be conflict, contradiction, desires, and fears, there’ll be suffering.
The Realization of the Truth about your Being, about God, is the Realization of the Truth about Life. That’s really the end of the illusion of “I.” Here it’s about the Realization of What is God, which is your Being here and now. Thus, contact with the Divine Truth is contact with True Meditation, the Presence of What transcends everything thought can idealize, project, or imagine.
So, this is the subject we work with you here within the channel, in online and face-to-face meetings and also retreats. So, here’s the invitation for you.
If this makes sense to you, leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel and see the possibility of deepening this in yourself and Realizing God, the Truth of your Being, in this life. This is Real Love, Real Happiness, and Real Freedom. Ok? Thanks for the meeting and see you!
