Illusion of psychological time. Issue of unhappiness. The “me,” the person is an illusory identity.

Very good!

The subject is the illusion of psychological time. Yes, the illusion of psychological time and the issue of unhappiness. As long as this psychological time remains present in us all we will know is confusion, disorder and therefore suffering, and that is unhappiness. We are here in this life to Realize the Happiness of Being, That which we were born to Be. We are the Reality of Consciousness, we are the Reality of God, This is inherent, innate to each one of us. It is the Presence of your Being, the Presence of Truth, the Presence of God.

And yet we have this psychological time, this notion of an identity moving in this psychological time. It is this moving identity that represents contradiction, conflict, suffering, and unhappiness. If you, right now, in fact, the vast majority of us are living a life stuck in this model right now, which is the model of mental consciousness, egoic consciousness, of this psychological time. And what basically is this psychological time? It is the movement of the past in you while this movement is getting accentuated, while it is present in this instant, revealing itself in this instant. Here, this moment, it is no longer seen, no longer perceived, no longer recognized as it in fact is. And you are at this moment in this condition which is completely based on this psychological time – and I will clarify what that means – you are unaware of what is here, in mismatch, in contradiction, in conflict with it and therefore in suffering.

That is the whole misfortune of the human being: to live in this condition of mental consciousness. This mental consciousness is the notion of psychological time. What is this psychological time? It’s this movement of thoughts, all of it based on memory. We call it psychological time because it is movement that is based on thought, and basically thought is memory. There is no thought in you not based on memory. Even when you idealize something, you envision something, you objectify something, you have the intention of something, mentally, with regard to the future, this is only possible because of this background of memory, thoughts, remembrances. This is the predominant factor in human life.

I want, here, to put something quite interesting for you. Note this: animals are in a constant search or a constant search for pleasure, all animals, and they are in a permanent flight or desire to escape any form of pain. This is the animal brain; it seeks pleasure and rejects pain. If you look at your brain, you will see that our reactions to biological life, biological survival are also based on this same principle: the search for pleasure and the removal or aversion to all forms of pain. From a biological, physiological point of view, we are just like any mammal, like any animal.

But here we find something very peculiar in us, much more predominant in us, although this is also present in animals, but in us it is very particular, very singular: it is the presence of this psychological time. The point is that our psychological defenses blend in with this biological survival defense. An animal is looking for pleasure because it fulfills it and gives it a life with greater meaning, with greater force of expression, so for the animal, pleasure is the most important thing that exists, so to escape pain or not experience pain is all it desires.

The human being has projected, in the very same way, in pleasure his greatest achievement, his greatest satisfaction and he, naturally, does not want to go through pain or experience pain. But, here, in human beings there is this psychological element, this accomplishment of pleasure gives them a psychological completeness, an identity; and this is not so present in animals, although it is also there, but in human beings, in particular, this has produced a center, an identity. When we use the pronoun “I” we are exactly referring to this identity, this “I,” this “me,” this “person” that I am. In an unconscious way this person is looking for constant expressions or achievements of satisfaction in some form of pleasurable fulfillment, in some form of pleasure. So, this has produced in us a center that is in constant pursuit of pleasure, for the achievement of fulfillment, this is giving us, human beings, an identity, this “me,” this “I,” this “ego.” It’s not just a question of biological survival, but it’s now a question of psychological survival for that “I.” And what is this “I”? A false center. What is the “me,” the “person”? It is an illusory identity. The person I believe I am is not real. It is a psychological movement of memory, a bundle of remembrance, of recollection of pleasure that is always sought and repeated and of moving away from pain, this is also constantly repeated. This illusory center is the “I” identity.

As long as our life is based on this psychological time, in this condition of memory, there will be suffering, conflict, contradiction, and unhappiness, because this search for pleasure and this withdrawal from pain put you in a space of constant and permanent struggle between reaching pleasure and running away from pain, achieve pleasure and escape pain. And a life entirely guided by biological and psychological pleasure always carries this other side, which is pain. Thus, dissatisfaction accompanies satisfaction. Pleasure has pain as its perpetual, permanent companion. This psychological center, this “I” gives you a self-centered identity, self-conscious of itself and centered on itself, wanting everything to revolve around this satisfaction, the satisfaction of the “I,” of the “me,” of the “ego.” Thus, the notion of separate identity, of an “I,” of “someone” present in this experience that is based on the pursuit of pleasure, this identity is the one that has its Life, its existence centered on this time, on the time created by thought, which is psychological time, which are these remembrances, these memories. So, Life now as it is, is not the goal of the ego, of this “me,” of this “I.” This “ego” is the center of all this, this “I” is the center of all this, this “me” is the center of all this, it has no interest in Life as it appears. For this “me,” this “ego,” this “I” Life has to have a purpose, Life here and now cannot be a Life as it Is, a Life without purpose. It’s just Life as it happens here and now, in this moment, instant by instant.

This is not how we approach Life. We approach Life with goals, with ideals, with purposes. These goals, ideals and purposes, ultimately, are none other than one and only one purpose which is to achieve pleasure, to fill yourself in one way or another with satisfaction, with acceptance, with recognition, with applause, with everything that confers to the “me,” to the “I,” to the “ego” some form of pleasure, either physiological or psychological.

Now, here, we are faced with something very interesting: there is in each one of us a sense of search for something, deep down, inside each one of us, in the depths, there is a search for something that is the Truth of the Love, Peace, Freedom, Happiness, then, this search is the Truth of your Being. There is this search and it is the Truth of your Being, this search is the Reality of God in you in this quest or in this search for Himself. So, this search is the Truth of Being for Being. However, this psychological movement, which is this psychological time, has given us an illusory identity; this illusory identity is not looking for the Truth of God, but it is looking for the fulfillment of its self-satisfaction, which is the satisfaction of the “ego,” of that “I.”

So, notice how interesting this all is. We have in us this Reality of Real Consciousness, the Reality of Being, the Reality of God, the Reality of Love, the Reality of Truth, the Reality of God’s search for God and we also have, in a parallel way, this egoic dissatisfaction, this human dissatisfaction, this condition of suffering and human unhappiness. What exactly is this condition? It is the condition of ignorance.

Thus, we ignore the Truth of Life’s Real purpose, which is a life free from all purposes, in this Bliss of Being That we were born to Be, which is Love, which is God, which is Truth. We ignore this and, psychologically, we are identifying ourselves or giving ourselves an illusory identity when we are fixing ourselves in this psychological time, in this condition of movement of thoughts where experiences take place, these [experiences] of pleasure are sought, the painful ones are rejected and, in this condition of ignorance, we are in this constant conflict, in this constant struggle. So, there is this movement of ignorance, this movement of illusion, this constant search to reach Something that we don't know, that we don't know where it is, that we don't know where it is. In this ignorance, we believe that This is outside, in this ignorance identified with the egoic mind – and this egoic mind is the fruit of all human conditioning, of all human history, of all this movement of ignorance common to all – in this condition, in this sense of the “I,” in this permanent search for pleasure, we are trapped in desires and fears. The desire to accomplish something in the future because you feel incomplete here at this moment, that is the “ego” condition, that is the “I” condition. This desire, in reality, holds fear. This fear is molded into another format, which is desire. So, desire sustains fear and fear sustains desire for this “me,” for this “I.”

What is our condition as human beings? It is the condition of this mental consciousness, this egoic consciousness, this consciousness in time, this “me” wanting something, seeking something, looking for something. There’s always this idea that there’s something out there for that “me.” “When I achieve that, I will be happy”: this is a projection of psychological time itself, of that very depth of memory, imaginations, beliefs, and ideas. All this is part of our culture. We're missing something, it’s a new house, it’s a new marriage, it’s a new car, it’s a new sensation, it’s a new experience, so it’s either in the world, in this world, or it’s in the imaginary spiritual world that is still a production of thought itself. So, either we are going to achieve this in the material world or in the so-called “spiritual world,” which is just an idealization of thought itself. It’s one more pursuit of pleasure, another search for fulfillment, for satisfaction. So, for the vast majority, the practice of religion is nothing more than a search for something within time. All thought does is produce images within time. It constructs Paradise, a Heaven, a God, it constructs its images, projects of humility, virtue, spirituality, and yet all this is still part of this movement of the “I,” of this movement of the ego, of this movement of psychological time.

Here, we are working with you to end psychological time and therefore the end of the sense of the present “I”; and if This is real here and now – and This can only be here and now, in a real way – the Reality of God, the Reality of Love, the Reality of Truth, which is the Truth of your Being, shows itself. It is when you are beyond, in your Being, which is that Real Consciousness, not that mental consciousness, that egoic consciousness. Something completely outside of all those material or spiritual projects. Realization of the Truth of your Being, in this Realization you are free from suffering, thus you are free from pleasure and pain, desire and fear. It is to be free from this notion of time – present, past and future. Here I mean psychologically, internally. Once your Being shows itself as Pure Intelligence… Pure Consciousness is Happiness, it is the Truth of the Awakening of True Consciousness, of Real Consciousness.

In our meetings, we are showing you the possibility of Realizing This, Realizing the Truth of your Being, dispelling this ignorance about who we are. Dissipating, putting an end to this illusion of this “me,” this “I,” this “ego” trapped in this psychological time that is, in reality, the result of this psychological time. This is something possible through Self-awareness. As long as there is no Real Self-awareness – the understanding of the Truth about who you are – there will be no end to this illusion, there will be no end to this “me,” to this present sense of identity, so what will remain is still this illusion of the “I” in time. If this ends because of Self-awareness… And here on our Channel we have a playlist on this subject – the Truth of Self-awareness – and several other playlists exploring how to approach it, how to look at all of it.

Another playlist here, which I always recommend, is about True Meditation. We don't know what Meditation is, we haven't discovered what Meditation is. This discovery is something you do when you turn to yourself, studying yourself, there is an end to all this illusion, this constant illusory search for pleasure mistaking it for happiness, love, and peace.

This is the subject we work on here with you within this Channel. I always ask this: if this makes sense to you, touches you in some way, leave your like and subscribe to the Channel.

I want to remind you: you also have the opportunity to explore this in online and also face-to-face meetings and also retreats.

OK? Here is the invitation and this opportunity. Thanks for the meeting and we'll see you soon.
