The search for God. Psychological time. Life free of the ego. Practical True Meditation. Finding God

Our purpose here in these meetings is to encounter the Revelation of Truth. The whole point is to discover together where this becomes possible. Will it become possible tomorrow, in the future?

We're going to emphasize a few issues with you here in this meeting, and one of them is this question of the importance we have given to time for something to be accomplished, for something to be attained, for something to be done. Here, when we deal with the Revelation of Truth, which is the Truth of God, which is the Truth of Who We Are, we are not dealing with something to be achieved.

For us there is always this idea, always this thought about what we are going to do to obtain something. So, we have an idea, we put ourselves into action with a purpose so that in the future there will be an achievement of that. So, our actions are always centered on self-interest, on the movement of the “I” itself, which is exactly the element that needs to be investigated in order to realize Reality.

What we've been saying here, and we're verifying with you here, is that when we're dealing with Reality, Truth, God, That Which is Real, we're not dealing with It as an element within time. Therefore, we can't get It, get there, reach It, come across It in the near or distant future, because we are dealing with Something that is not in time: Divine Reality, God's Reality or Truth – whatever you want to call it.

Notice, the purpose of this channel is the discovery or realization of That which is outside this condition known to all of us, which is the condition of the “I,” of the ego. So, yes, we are pointing to Something here, and that Something is Ultimate Reality, the only thing that is Real and that represents the end of all the confusion in our lives. Of course, we are referring here to the Reality of God, and That is not in time. So, this movement of action in us, which always proceeds from intention – in turn, this intention is the result of a movement of thought in us, moving in this time, and we want to talk about exactly this issue of time – in order to realize This, does not apply here.

The Reality of God is outside of time, and this movement, which is the movement of the “I” in the action to accomplish This, does not proceed. So, we are faced with an illusion, an error, a misunderstanding: this movement of the “I” to accomplish. That's why we've been saying – and you can investigate this and become aware of it directly here – that this whole movement of the seeker – because there is this movement in us, it's instilled in us within religious culture – is the movement of the search for God, this search for God, this finding God; for us, this is something very important.

However, we never investigate the question of who this seeker is, who this searcher is. We set out on this quest, this search, starting from a mistaken principle, which is the idea of “someone” who can have an encounter with God, “someone” who can have contact with God, “someone” who can achieve communion with God. But what is the truth of this “someone”? We've never investigated that.

So, our initial proposal is to have an encounter with God, but what is the truth of this “I”? What is the truth of this seeker? What can this seeker do? First, let's look at something here: all thought inside you is just an idea. Thought doesn't deal with Reality, it deals with concepts, so a thought is a symbol about something. For example, the word “table,” that's a symbol, because it's a thought, but that thought, which is a symbol, which is the word “table,” doesn't represent that object.

So, look how interesting it is investigating this here. Our model of thinking and also of feeling is a model of symbols. Look how simple it is. When you remember someone, a feeling arises, and along with that thought, a feeling goes with it, a “like” or “dislike,” a “want to see the person” or “want them far away from you.” So, a feeling arises along with a thought. So, thought, which is the symbol, is an image, a representation, is also accompanied by a feeling.

Observe: every thought in us is accompanied by a feeling. But what do we have in that sensation, in that thought, in that feeling? A self-projection. This is something very particular, something only real to this “I.” What is this “I”? It's the experiencer, it's the one who is in this experience of experiencing, and what they are experiencing is the past. Follow this: what you feel is real for you, it's not real for the other, it's not real for that object, for that symbolized thing of which thought is the symbol. The feeling that accompanies that symbol is something personal, particular. Therefore, we are dealing with a projection, a projection of the “I” itself. Note that the “I” is only a projection, the projection of an idea is this “I.”

So, this feeling you have about who you are, who the other person is and what life represents is something very personal, private and therefore a projection of the “I” itself. This projection is a movement, the movement of the ego, the egocentric movement. So, notice how simple it is to observe, to see, that what we feel is not real, it's a projection of the “I” itself, it only carries the reality of that egoic existence, that separate identity, which is the “me,” the “person.”

Thus, this feeling about life, this feeling about God, this feeling about others, is based on an egoic projection. Perhaps we don't like to hear this, perhaps we don't appreciate it, but it's a very simple fact: we are living in this projection, we are living in this self-image, which is the “I,” the ego, this “me,” living from these projections. So, what we call “love” is based on this idea of who the other person represents to me. This thing we call “hate,” the relationship is exactly the same. “I love,” “I hate,” “I like,” “I don't like,” what reality does that have? Only the reality of “I.”

We don't know the reality of love, but we experience the sensation. This experience of the sensation called “love” is also accompanied by its opposite, which is hatred. What I love I can stop loving at any moment, and because I stop loving it, it can become hate. So, what I “love” I can stop loving, or I can immediately turn to hating what I “love.” Who is this one in this “love”? What does this “love” really represent if not a sensation, an experience of pleasure? If this experience of pleasure alters, changes, it can become an experience of displeasure, anger, frustration, and fear.

So, what we call “love” carries its opposite, which is hate. What we call “joy” because of the presence of the other also carries its opposite, because if the other disappoints us, that joy goes away and displeasure takes its place. This displeasure takes its place because, in reality, it has always been there. So, what we call “love,” what we call “joy,” what we call “pleasure,” which is being sustained by thought, by the symbol, by the image – which is basically memory, something that comes from the past – has no reality, only this truth of the “I,” which is the illusion of an identity present in sensation.

Notice that all of this has been sustained and is being sustained by the experiencer. When we go through experiences, we record them. If they are pleasurable, they are stored as joyful experiences. But joyful experiences are memories of pleasure. So, we go through experiences and cultivate these memories and they become mere egocentric sensations that we call “pleasure,” “joy,” “love,” and “peace,” but we always have these and the opposite inside each of us.

So, this “I,” this ego, is made up of conflict and peace, love and hate, pleasure and pain. Note that all this is part of thought for this experiencer, who at every moment is recording experiences and sustaining his life on this thought model. To become aware of this thought model is to go beyond it.

Now we can return to the question of the search for Truth or the search for God. What is this search for Truth? What is this search for God if not also a sensation, a projection of thought itself? If we are willing to become aware of Reality – this Nameless, Indescribable Thing that we call God – we need to go beyond sensation, beyond the search for sensation, beyond the search for this movement, which is the movement of thought itself, of achieving some form of satisfaction, fulfillment, or pleasure within a sensation. Are we together?

Thought is responsible for sensation. Divine Reality, the realization of Truth is That which is present when thought ceases, when there is an end to that thought pattern, when that thought conditioning disappears. That's why we need an emptying of all this psychological content, which is the “I,” the ego, which is thought, its sensation and its projection. Then we are faced with a Reality that is present now, when thought is not. That's why we have to understand this question of the presence of time.

Notice that this thought is projected because of a movement towards the future. So, the idea of tomorrow, the idea of the day after, the idea of reaching, achieving, getting there, coming to be, becoming, finding God, this is something that implies the presence of time. We cannot separate this time from thought, because it is thought that projects this time. This time is only given validity by thought. Notice that when there is no time, there is no thought, when there is no thought, there is no time. I'm referring to this time created by thought, which is psychological time. I'm not talking about clock time; I'm not talking about chronological time. I'm talking about psychological time. In this idea of coming to be, of becoming, of achieving, psychologically, the “I” projects itself using thought, which is time.

We can free ourselves from time, from this time created by thought, sustained by thought, so here we have the ceasing of thought, the end to thought. This is the end of time. When time ceases, thought ceases; when thought disappears, there is no time. So, we are facing a Truth that reveals itself when the “I,” the ego, is not there. So, the presence of Love in our relationships, the Truth of Love is something that becomes possible when thought, in its sensation of pleasure, satisfaction, egoic fulfillment in the relationship with the other, is no longer present.

So, if we have the Reality of this Being, which is the Reality of God, which is Truth, which is present when psychological time, when the time created by thought is not, when That is present, we have the Reality of Love, we have the Reality of God, we have the Reality of this Being, which is Completeness, which is Happiness, which is Truth. So, it's not a search, it's a realization when the ego is no longer present.

And how do we get rid of this ego? How does that become possible? It becomes possible when time is no longer important. So, it's not about an encounter that takes place within a project created by thought. It's about emptying yourself of all that thought content, and that's her and now. The Truth of Meditation, the Practical, True Meditation puts you in direct contact with That right now.

Here on the channel, we have an extensive playlist on how to approach the Truth of True Meditation in a practical way and this awareness of the Truth of Self-Awareness. The awareness of this brings about this emptying of all this psychological content, which is the “I,” the ego, the basis of this experiencer that is always cultivating thoughts and seeking a life of sensation from these thoughts, and that gives different names to these sensations, but which are, in fact, mere thoughts projected by the “I” itself.

The emptying of this content is the Truth of Self-Awareness. The knowledge of that Reality which is outside thought when thought is not. When it ceases, when it is no longer present, we have this Revelation. We can discover here a life free of thought, therefore free of this sense of “I,” of the ego, in its search for sensation, in this confusion of existence based on sensations, for an encounter, or rather, for a realization of this Reality here and now, which is the Divine Reality, which is the Reality of God.

That's our work here on the channel. We have online meetings; you go to the link in the video description and take part in these meetings on weekends to go deeper into this, to discover this in this life, to Realize This. We have these online meetings and we also have face-to-face meetings and retreats. So, if this is something that makes sense to you, go ahead and leave a comment here: “Yes, it makes sense,” leave your like and subscribe to the channel, ok? And we'll see you at the next online meetings. Thanks for the meeting and see you next time!
