Joel Goldsmith | The Art of Spiritual Healing | What is spiritual life? | Marcos Gualberto

GC: Hello everyone, we're here for another videocast. Master Gualberto is with us again. Thank you, Master, for being here.

Master, today I'm going to read an excerpt from a book by Joel Goldsmith called: "The Art of Spiritual Healing." In an excerpt from this book, Joel made the following comment: "The Son of God is always the servant of his fellow men, forever at the service of those who call upon him." In this excerpt, Joel Goldsmith comments on serving others. On this subject, can the Master share his vision of what spiritual life is?

MG: Gilson, our old habit is one of separation. We are constantly separating ourselves. Here, in the question of what spiritual life is, there is already division. We already find a distance, a separation between material life and spiritual life. Here, the question is: What is life? Yes, there is that life we ??know and there is Life as it truly is: this is Real Life. What we understand as life is a movement in which we are constantly interpreting what happens.

Therefore, what emerges there, in life as we know it, is a personal interpretation, a way of happening where the pattern of thought is determining this entire interpretation. This is the life we ??know. Yes, we can call it material life, a life centered on the person we believe ourselves to be, on the mind we know, on the consciousness we are living.

Therefore, what we could truly call Life-True Life, Real Life-is, in fact, Spiritual Life. And why Spiritual Life? Because it is Life as It is in its expression. It is in this internal movement of the mind that we are living in ignorance. I refer to this movement of the consciousness of the "I," where we are situating ourselves within the model of time. We do not live in an experiencing, in a verifying, in perceiving. We do not live in a way of looking, listening, or truly comprehending Life, because we are within a pattern of behavior where our thoughts are entangled with time. We are living in time.

Why have we emphasized here with you the beauty of an encounter with the moment? Why are we here investigating the importance of revealing this instant, of what is here, here and now? Because this reveals Life as It is, when the "I" is not there, when the person is not present. The person is the presence of the mind living in time. We are constantly capturing the present moment, storing the present moment as memory. This recollection is the mind's remembrance about life, it is the presence of the past, it is the continuity of this person.

Our life is personal, it is not real. The person is, in fact, a construct of thought, since thought is this remembrance, this memory, this recollection. Therefore, it is something that once was, but which is constantly appearing within our relations, in the form of a person. This is the life we ??know. The acknowledgment of Reality is the approach of Life. Therefore, Real Life is Divine Life, it is Spiritual Life; it is not the life of the person, it is your life. The way you represent the present moment, how you deal with the present moment, how you demonstrate the present moment, is based on an evaluation of thought; it is life in time.

Note that we are constantly in the past or the future. Now, notice what this statement we just made here means: the statement that we are constantly in the past or the future. We are affirming that our life is a life in memory, in thought. It is thought that lives on memories, it is thought that lives in the past. It is this past, these recollections, like thought, that project themselves into the future: this is the life we ??know.

We are emphasizing with you here the truth of an encounter with the Supreme Reality, with Divine Reality, with the Truth of God. It is that which is present here, not within time, outside the mind and, therefore, outside the past. It is the Timeless Reality, it is the Reality of Life, the Reality of God. It is the very Presence of this Being that you are, it is the Truth about You, when the illusion about you, in this truth of the person, is no longer present.

Therefore, there is the truth about the person: this is the truth about you, who you demonstrate to be, who you seem to be, who is expressing at every moment. However, there is a Truth about You, beyond this truth of the person: it is the Divine Reality, the Reality of God, that which is timeless, that which is the Unknown, the Indescribable, which is beyond thought.

Dealing with Life as It truly shows itself is to access the Reality of That which is timeless, of That which is not part of time. For practical purposes, we have chronological time-the time that deals with days, months, years; the time that deals with hours and deadlines. We call this movement in the known, this phenomenon of appearances and disappearances, as "time."

That which is temporal, that which comes and goes, that which is changing: this is the phenomenon of this dream. Therefore, between sunset and sunrise, there is time-chronological time-but the Reality of Life is beyond time: it is the Reality of Being. That which is eternal, beyond the known, is the Divine, the Truth of God, the Truth of your Being. Life there, is Real, Life there, is Love, Bliss, Freedom. This is what we are here, with you, working on and investigating.

So, what is Spiritual Life? Spiritual Life is Life when there is no longer the illusion of the mind sustaining the time that thought is producing, which is psychological time, where someone is present, someone who maintains their continuity in memory-we don't need that. Life is real now, here, when illusion is no longer present, when the mind, as we know it, is no longer present. Thus, there is no such thing as this "person," there is no such thing as this particular life of the person. The flourishing of this Divine State is your Natural State of Being, outside of time, beyond birth and death, beyond the idea of ??"mind, body, and world." It is Spiritual Awakening, the Awareness of Life, the Reality of Life.

GC: Master, we have a question here from a subscriber on the channel. She made the following comment: "Master, I feel lost. How can I find a greater purpose and begin to live a life with more spiritual meaning?"

MG: Gilson, the idea of ??purpose is the projection of thought in time. All thought does is project itself-either backward or forward. Note that thought within us does not deal with what is here; it is always dealing with what was or what will be. We are constantly, psychologically, either in the past or in the future. The element present here, in this movement, is the presence of thought. It assumes the idea of ??an identity-which is the "I," the person-to have a purpose, to achieve something, to accomplish something it desires, seeks, yearns for. It is the projection of thought itself onto an ideal of purpose.

The Reality of Life, Real Life, free from thought, is the purpose itself. Life itself is its purpose; it is not the life of someone finding a purpose. This person lives in a search, in a constant quest for some level of fulfillment, accomplishment, completeness. But what is the truth of the person in incompleteness, in dissatisfaction, and in the search? The truth of the person is the truth of a thought that is moving within us, giving us the basis for a fictitious, illusory identity. We are internally in an imaginary world, constructed by thought for someone; for someone who is either in the past or in the future.

There is a deep level of dissatisfaction within us, and that is why we speak about purpose. This dissatisfaction is the presence of thought. Thought within us will always be incomplete, always dissatisfied. It doesn't deal with truth; it deals with images, with imaginations, and we were educated to live this way, conditioned within an ideal, within various forms of purposes and objectives. Our human ideal, as people, is to achieve something surprising, extraordinary, "for me." But what is the truth of this "me"? It's what we need to comprehend, what we need to investigate.

The Reality of Life is its purpose. The beauty of Life consists in an encounter with what is present here, something possible only when thought is not here, making no interpretation, evaluation, comparison, judgment, projecting itself with its desires or fleeing from its pain. Fear is something present in pain. Pleasure is something present in desire. The presence of thought is the element behind this movement. This movement is fictitious, illusory. It is what we have called here "the time of the mind," "the time of thought."

So, when you speak of a higher purpose, notice... why do we speak of a higher purpose? Because life, as we live it in thought, is a life without purpose. There comes a time when you realize that, despite everything you've accomplished, you remain unhappy, troubled, psychologically and internally miserable. Even though you've accomplished things externally, there's no satisfaction, no fulfillment. That's why we speak of a higher purpose. In truth, there's no greater purpose than Life-not life for the individual, but Life without the individual. Life without the person is the Reality of Being. This is the true purpose, the only great purpose in life: to embrace the Reality of Being. This is Love, Bliss, the Awareness of God-the Awareness of That which is beyond the mind, beyond the world, beyond all our ideas about life.

GC: Master, we have another question from another subscriber. In a video where the Master spoke about Self-awareness, the comment was: "It seems liberating to me. How can I live this?"

MG: You ask how to live this. You say, "That seems liberating." The Reality of life is the presence of Freedom. It's not about someone living it; it's about comprehending Life, the Freedom that is Life. There is no one to live it. It's the presence of this "someone," this "me," this ego, the limitation. We see ourselves within a circle, trapped within it: it's the life of the person. Real Life, in Freedom, there is no one in It. Your question is, "How to live this?" By assuming your Natural Real State of Being.

You are psychologically internalizing an orientation, a model, a program of action, thought, perception, sensation, interaction with others, with yourself, with the world around you. This is an illusory form of behavior, centered on a pattern organized by thought within you.

By freeing yourself from thought, you free yourself from this specific way of living; you free yourself from this psychological model of situating yourself in life. There is a break with the ego, with the "I," with the person. This is the true way to live this, the true way to embrace it. Anything else, any other project, search, pursuit, practice, or involvement with so-called "spirituality," or with any other technique, approach, or promise to achieve this state, is entirely false.

The basis, the foundation of this, is the presence of Self-awareness. When there is Self-awareness, there is an approach of this moment for a perception of life as it happens, without the "I" and, therefore, without this psychological form of existence that thought has been sustaining and maintaining in each of us. Then, we encounter this freedom. The expression "freedom" is quite curious: it's not something you will eventually achieve, it's something you deal with in this moment, from the moment you bring awareness, consciousness, and presence to your reactions.

It is necessary to be conscious, placing, in this moment, full attention on your reactions. This is what breaks this psychological model of existence, of conditioned mind, of prison pattern. This is what we are here, with you, working on. This is what we are working on with you in online meetings. We have online meetings, in addition to these videos. We are working on, with you, in face-to-face meetings. Discovering the Truth about yourself is the only thing that matters. It is real contact with life, it is life in communion, in a moment-to-moment flow. Then, we encounter this Freedom, this Love and Happiness.

GC: Gratitude, gratitude, Master. Our time is over now. Gratitude for this videocast.

And for those of you who are following the videocast to the end and truly wish to experience these truths, we invite you to participate in the meetings that Master Gualberto offers. These meetings are available online, in-person, and also as retreats.

In these meetings, which are much deeper and more transformative than these videos here on YouTube... First, because the Master answers our questions directly. And second, and much more impactful, is that, because the Master already lives in this Awakened State of Consciousness, He shares a field of Presence around Him, a field of Energy, Power, and Grace.

And, in these meetings, we are being taken by this field of the Master's Presence. And, by being taken by the Master, we spontaneously enter a meditative state, quiet our minds, and have an incredible ease in knowing ourselves and observing our thoughts. So, here's the invitation. The first pinned comment contains the WhatsApp link to participate in these meetings.

Also, please "like" the video, subscribe to the channel, and leave comments here, asking questions for future videocasts.

And, Master, once again, thank you for the videocast.
