Awakening of Consciousness. Vedanta. Joel Goldsmith: The Invisible Infinite. Realization of Truth

Very well! Speaking to you today about the Awakening of Consciousness. There is a lot of confusion about this in people’s minds. We cannot confuse “being conscious” with Consciousness. Let’s realize that within this speech. That is the purpose of this meeting here, in particular, with you in these next few minutes. What is the difference between Consciousness and being conscious?

Every movement of thought within us, as well as every perception of the world in us, is from this recognition of thought. We have thoughts… from these thoughts we recognize the world. If I show you an object, like a chair... you recognize a chair, because you have a previous, past experience, of memory, of memory, inside you. That thought gives you the recognition of that object. This recognition is this perception of the senses linked to the image and name of that object, which, in this case, is a chair. Our perception of the world, all of it, occurs in this way.

We have knowledge and this knowledge is previous, past, named experiences stored in us. And this perception, when it is recognized, we call “consciousness.” So, this thing of “being conscious” is present because of this, yes, “consciousness.” So, what we call “consciousness” is in fact “being conscious.” It takes place here, in our waking state, and it takes place in a dream as well. When you dream, you have a perception of the world. When you wake up, you discover that you were, yes, conscious. So, there is, in the dream and in this waking state, “being conscious.” This is what we call “consciousness.”

I want to go deeper with you here into this question of the Nature of True Consciousness. In the dream, as in the waking state, the perception of being conscious, you see, is just a perception of the mind. It is the mind that is actually aware of its experiences, its memories, its remembrances, what it knows. So, being conscious is “consciousness” at this level. I have called this “mental consciousness” or “egoic consciousness.” And why egoic consciousness? Because there is a center from which this consciousness is present.

Then, you say “I am conscious of this” ... So, there is a center, there is an “I.“ “I am aware of your speech,” “I am aware of your gestures,” “I am aware of that chair,” “I am aware of that thought” ... But there is an “I” present saying “I am,” “I am,” so that is a mental consciousness, it is an egoic consciousness.

This subject is very important here within the channel. It is necessary for you to differentiate between “Being Consciousness” and “being conscious.” In that sense of present “I,” in that experience of the world, in the waking state or in the dream state, you are simply conscious, but that consciousness is the consciousness from a center, from an observer, from a thinker, from an experiencer. This “being conscious” means being still in a state of unconsciousness.

Here, I want to explain to you – and I have been dealing with these talks – about the possibility of assuming there, of assuming in this body-mind, your Natural State of Being Consciousness, and Being Consciousness is Being-Consciousness-Bliss. Some call it Spiritual Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening. The human being lives in this first condition: he is only conscious – he is conscious of the world, he is conscious of people, he is conscious of himself... in this consciousness of “dream,” of “sleep,” which is, in reality, unconsciousness, because there is a sense of separation in that state of “being conscious”; there is the sense of separation between you and life, between you and the other, between you and God, between you and sensory perceptions, between you and that house, between you and that chair, between you and the world of objects and also of thoughts.

So, there is the “me,” the “I,” and this experience of seeing, hearing, feeling, perceiving. There is separation because there is a center, there is a present identity. That identity is the “I,” the ego.

Notice how important this is! We are born, we grow up, we become adults, we get married, we have children, then we have grandchildren, we age, we get sick we die; or before that, we die. But the human being goes through this whole process of human life in this state of unconsciousness, which is simply “being conscious.” Since this “being conscious” is a state of mind, basically all of us are living in this state of unconsciousness, which is the state similar to what we have in the dream state.

Spiritual Enlightenment, the Awakening of the Truth of your Being, which is Consciousness, is the end of this unconsciousness of simply being aware. This Spiritual Enlightenment, this Spiritual Awakening, is the Awakening of Consciousness. So, Awakening of Consciousness is because we live in this unconsciousness. The word “buddha” means “the one who woke up from this unconsciousness,” “the one who woke up from this sleep, from this dream.” That is the meaning of the word “buddha.”

You, in your Being, are Consciousness, and that is the Awakened State; and, here, in this speech, we are calling it “the Awakening of Consciousness.” It is You, in your Being, that is Consciousness and Bliss – that is an expression of the Vedas. Your Real Nature is Consciousness, in that Awakened State; it is Happiness – here I mean Real Happiness, not what the egoic mind, the thought, has built on top of happiness; and it is Being – not what thought thinks about being, about becoming, about getting rid of or achieving something in order to be, to become. No, it is Being-Consciousness-Bliss the Divine Nature, the Nature of God in you.

On this channel, we are showing you that it is possible, in this life, to “Awaken,” leaving this condition common to the vast majority of humanity. Every difficulty, every adversity, every complexity, every confusion, every disorder, every form of contradiction, conflict and suffering in our lives is established because what prevails is the dream state, in that unconsciousness.

So, there is this illusion of “someone,” which is this “I,” this center, living this experience of life, of the world and of relationships with everything around them, in this separation, in this duality: “I” and the “not I.” The “not I” is the thought, the “not I” is the feeling, the “not I” is the world, the “not I” is the other, the “not I” is the life that this “I” is trying to manipulate, resolve, within this world, accomplish things, to find the solution for all this confusion, for all this contradiction, for all this suffering, for all this complexity, and, no matter how hard this “I” tries, it is the base or basic element for it all. Therefore, the basis or basic element of all this is this “me,” in this separation, in this duality.

We are here inviting you to see yourself, to understand yourself, assuming the Truth about who you are. The good news about this is that this contact with Awakening of Consciousness is contact with the Reality of God. Here, I am referring to something that has no name and which we call God; something that cannot be thought of, imagined; something that is beyond all human terminology, all forms of images and expressions. We call it God, but that is unnamable! This Reality that we call God has no name, it is beyond everything that thought can build, idealize and imagine.

I really like an expression by Joel Goldsmith. He has an expression for God. He calls “The Infinite Invisible” ... “The Infinite Invisible.” He says: “It was the best expression I found for God, because one cannot know the Truth about God as long as concepts are present. It is necessary to go beyond all concepts.” Joel Goldsmith said this. “Then, when I realized it was an expression, I started using ‘The Infinite Invisible’ for God. The Infinite Invisible” – he says – “is a good expression, because you cannot frame it within a concept of image, you cannot represent it.” His statement is very beautiful. You cannot represent God with an image, because He is Infinite... and invisible!

So, in the same way, we are placing to you here, in different words, the same Reality of that Infinite Invisible. I have called “The Unknown,” “The Nameless,” That which is beyond thought and time. In Vedanta, This is recognized as Being-Consciousness-Bliss, which is the Nature of each one of us, the Real Nature of Consciousness, when there is this Awakening of Consciousness.

So, this Awakening of Consciousness is the Awakening of that Infinite Invisible, of the Reality of That which is You. There is only That present in all Manifestations. So, everything you see, feel, perceive, think, imagine, idealize, is within that mental consciousness, the egoic consciousness, because there is you and that perception, there is you and that thought, you and that feeling. This needs to go away.

I want to invite you to a State free of the sense of “I,” of the ego, of this “me.” I want to invite you to a State free of this state of being conscious. Then, you go beyond that state of being conscious in the waking state, in the dream state, and of apparently being unconscious in deep sleep.

There is an expression for this in Yoga as well: they call it Turiya, the fourth state of consciousness. So, you have deep sleep, which is a state of consciousness, you have the waking state and the dream state. So: deep sleep, dream, waking... and, in addition to this waking state, there is a fourth state possible for you in this life, which is the Awakening of Consciousness, the Natural Infinite Invisible State, in the language of Joel Goldsmith, the State of God.

Clearly, we are referring to that which is outside thought and therefore outside all limitations of time and space. It is the Nature of your Being. As long as the sense of an “I” is present, in that sense of separation, there will be all forms of problems, contradictions, dilemmas and problems. Anxiety, depression, envy, fear, greed, the pain of loneliness, anguish, all this is present in this dream state, which is the sleep state of this “I,” this conscious mind, this mental consciousness. That mental consciousness, that conscious mind, carries all that weight. The Realization of Truth is to assume an entirely new and unknown State of vision of this dream-world.

This is the subject that we delve into here on the channel, we work on this face-to-face as well, in our face-to-face meetings, and we also have retreats, where we work on this with those who approach. In addition, we have online meetings, where we can work on this together. OK?

If this is something that makes sense to you, leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel and let’s work on it together! OK?

See you soon!
