Absence of Self-Awareness. The Realization of the Truth is the Realization of God. Enlightenment.

Becoming aware of the Truth about yourself is essential. In general, our lives are very tiring; the impression is one of repetition. We have a tedious life, and we always ask ourselves: what can we do with this? Our ideas about what life means and how it works are incomplete.

So, for us, the presence of this tiredness, this routine, or this boredom has a reason always external to us: it is life that is not good, that is repetitive, tiring, and boring. And to escape this, we move around, trying to do something. Then, it is very typical of human beings to search for experiences that are richer, more meaningful, deeper, and more satisfying for ourselves, for this “me.”

So, “I want to get rid of something, but I want to get rid of it by doing something new;” “I abandon what does not satisfy me, comfort me, excite me, what is not pleasurable and search for something that gives me pleasure, that satisfies me, fulfills me.” This search for new sensations and experiences is quite common within us. When we do this, we throw ourselves into this search, this quest. What we actually do is escape this condition of boredom, routine, and pattern. That is why we constantly occupy our daylight hours – which are the ones when we are unoccupied – with something that gives us some level of fulfillment, satisfaction, or pleasure. For us, the problem is always external, on the outside.

You have to understand this: our viewpoint of the world is of someone who knows what is happening out there. We start from a very mistaken principle that we exist within this life context and that life has to represent something to us, so there is this “me” here and life there, and life has to fill me up. There is a constant search for fulfillment. In this search, dissatisfaction is implicit, but it is not dissatisfaction with life because life is really boring; it is routine, tedious, or problematic, but because this “I” is bored, upset, tedious with itself, with problems.

So, our viewpoint that the world will make us happy, that what we call “life” will fulfill us, and that something we can do will solve this issue is totally wrong. Actually, the whole problem lies in how I relate to life, to the situation, to this instant, to this moment. It is always the sense of a present ” I ” trying to shape, adjust, resolve, balance, and fix what is outside.

The Truth about you is unknown. That is the ignorance of who we are. As long as this absence of understanding about ourselves continues – this absence of Self-Awareness, there will be the presence of boredom, tiredness, routine, this internal psychophysical, emotional, sentimental condition, of thought, sensation, where everything is like this. It has nothing to do with what happens; it has to do with how I feel about it.

So, we lack an understanding of who we are, the Truth of our Being, of our Real Nature, revealing itself here and now. What is most enchanting about a work of Self-Realization, of the Awakening of Consciousness, of Spiritual Enlightenment, this encounter with the Divine Reality – which is our proposal here – is the possibility of looking at ourselves, becoming aware of ourselves, seeing what is happening here, leaving behind this illusion of looking outwards.

Look at yourselves. We are always in a relationship with the world as if we were the central figure in that relationship. Notice how self-centered we are. In a relationship with another person, being interested in what I feel, what I think, and what I expect from them is the most important thing, and that is self-centeredness. We live in this egocentrism, and the expression “my life” or “our life” already holds this. The illusion of a present identity that is able to solve, fix, adjust, and do as you want is to feel good, which is an illusion. All this movement of the “I,” restless, dissatisfied, and unhappy as it is, will only represent more and more of the same thing. Are you with me?

The whole problem consists of the presence of the dissatisfied, bored, tired, and unhappy. The whole problem lies in the existence of this “I.” That is why Self-Awareness brings you closer to the investigation of the Truth about who you are, and this is the most direct way to the discovery of the Revelation of What is Indescribable, Unnameable, outside the mind, outside the “I,” which is the Reality of God, the Divine Truth, the Revelation of your Being, the Happiness of your Essential Nature – it is the same thing, it is all the same thing.

The Truth about who we are is Happiness, Peace, Intelligence, and Freedom. It is not boredom, tiredness, annoyance, and frustration. The beauty of all this is to discover that you are here for this Realization if it is present, no moment, no instant, no occurrence, or whatever is happening here, at this present moment, can really be of such importance to you that it causes you unhappiness, boredom or any kind of suffering when the sense of “I,” of the ego, of this “me” [is not present]. And all we do here is to investigate that.

To become aware of the illusion is to go beyond it. We cannot do this without understanding this structure, this nature of the “I.” The understanding of this shows you that this moment is complete, unique, and singular, where there is great Beauty, Enchantment, Silence, Truth, and Love. You are not here; you are lost in the illusion of “someone” here, separating from this moment, wanting to live a projection, a reflection, an illusion, wanting, in this separation, to feel complete with something, some condition, some event, some happening, with some experience.

The Realization of the Truth is the Realization of God, and the Realization of God is the end of the “I.” As this moment only shows this Reality, and this Reality is only here being what it IS because the only Truth of it is this Unnameable, Indescribable thing, this Beauty that is the Divine Truth, here we come across this. So, when you approach Meditation, you approach yourself. When you approach this look at the movement of the “I” through Self-Awareness, there is a discarding of this “I” who is dissatisfied, bored, annoyed, and tired of itself. Thus, our search for something will not solve the problem. In fact, it is the search to be satisfied with yourself, and no sensation, experience, or external event can give you that.

There is a discovery for you to make – the discovery of the Truth of your Being. What are you when you are not present? It is paradoxical: you without “you.” Here, I refer to the Divine Reality of your Real Nature. When this is present without this “you,” which is an idea you have about yourself that is what you are tired of, bored of, what annoys you. You are always the same person, continually moving in the same way. In this isolation, you project yourself out of it with these goals, ideals, and beliefs that, deep down, you know will not work. It is just an attempt to escape from yourself, from this “me,” this “I.”

This verification of the Truth about you, the Reality of you without this “I,” this “you” as you see yourself, as you feel, is the end to all this. There is no other problem in the world, no problem with people, no problem at this moment and in these situations. The only problem is the illusion of this “you,” this idea of being “someone.” When there is an approach to the Truth about Meditation, you become aware of the non-separation between this boredom, tiredness, annoyance, and this “I,” when there is no longer this separation, you become aware of Something that transcends this duality, this “you and boredom,” “you and tiredness,” “you and annoyance,” “you and this internal psychological condition.” That reveals itself as the separation vanishes.

Keep, perceive, verify, look at this in a direct way. No thought is present without the illusion of a thinker upholding that thought. No specific emotion is present without the illusion of the one sustaining that specific emotion. So, no boredom, annoyance, or contrariety is present without the one who is bored, annoyed, upset. This look at oneself, this approach to oneself without this separateness puts an end to this illusion, then Something new is present and this Something new is the absence of this “you” that you believe to be, it is the Reality of your own Being showing itself without conflict, suffering, or problem. This is Freedom, Silence, Meditation, this is Happiness.

That 's it!
