The illusion of individuality | What is thinking? | What is thought? | The conditioned mind

It seems to me that the real way we can approach a subject like this is without the concepts we bring and the preconceptions we have already acquired. We must have an uncommitted approach to this philosophical, religious, and psychological vision. Only a free mind, a completely free one, can approach a subject like this and perceive the Beauty, the Reality of what we are dealing with here with you. This subject is what some people call Spiritual Awakening. Others call it the Awakening of Consciousness or Spiritual Enlightenment. The truth about this is that there is no way to approach a subject like this in the same way as we approach a matter within the field of knowledge.

When we approach a subject within what is already known, we still have a base, some level of information about it, and this is the way to approach that subject. So, this pre-acquired concept, this pre-formulated belief, this idea already predisposed in us to access that matter when it is a known subject, even constitutes a basis for us to understand it better. However, this subject here implies contact with something completely unknown. The Divine Reality, the Reality of God, the Reality of your Being, is not in the field of the known; it is not in this dimension of the typical mind.

So, we must have an approach to what it is like to think about this. Here, the issue of thinking is something that we need to investigate before anything else. We do not know what thinking is. We do not know how to think. For us or for many of us, when we ask, “What is thinking?” We want to discover what thinking is in this or that format, in this or that way. So, people ask: “How do we think philosophically? What is political thinking like? What is religious thinking like? What is spiritual thinking like? What is philosophical thinking like?” And here we are working with you to end the illusion of this idea of a thinker present within an experience. That is the true presence of thinking.

It may seem paradoxical to you. How can there be thinking without the thinker? But we will investigate here with you in the next few minutes: what is thinking without the thinker? What is the truth about thinking? First, let us understand one thing: there is no such thing as thinking within this format as we imagine. Generally, when you approach something to think about, your thinking is already conditioned and programmed. It carries a background of experience, memory, and recognition of that. Here, we are talking about this thinking where there is awareness of observing in a clear, objective, non-emotional way, not loaded with prejudice, opinion, or judgment about that given thing.

So, this is the real way to think. Thinking is something free from the model of conditioned thinking itself. Then, here we are, for example, making use of speech. Speech is thinking. But we can use this speech within a scheme, a pre-determination, an already ordered program, within a conditioning. And that is not thinking; that is following a principle. It is following a code. Here, when we talk about the Realization of your Being, which is the Realization of God, we are talking about the Awakening of your True Consciousness. The consciousness, as we know, is moving due to that already-known movement of thought, which is familiar to everyone.

So, what we have stated here and what we are seeing together is that, since we were children, we are programmed and conditioned to think. And the thought that goes on within us is not ours. It is the thinking of society, of the collective, of the world, in the philosophical, psychological, and religious aspects, in this so-called “spiritual” aspect. Our way of thinking, feeling, and acting are already programmed and conditioned. Then, there is no such freedom to think.

So, what is the truth of thinking? What is thinking? It is the ability to remain free from this already known movement, which is this thinker. This thinker is the “I,” the ego. Pay attention, understand the clarity of that, and the importance of seeing that very clearly by yourself. Your model of thinking and feeling is always of the “I,” the ego, of this person, this sense of a present identity, which constitutes only a belief. We carry this belief, which is just one of the conditioned thoughts we have – the belief in this “I.” This “I” is the basis of all other thoughts. This “I” is the basis for this thinker.

So, you believe you are thinking. In fact, the movement of thought in you is just psychological conditioning, just programming, a way in which the brain expresses itself by reacting to the present moment due to a background, which is the background of past experiences. Then, how does this issue of thought process? What is thought? Thought in us is memory. Thoughts in us are remembrances. These memories always respond to the present moment, and they respond based on this past, on everything we have already been through; thus, all our memories, recollections, images, beliefs, ideas, opinions, and conclusions. It is always moving here and now at this moment, expressing itself within the conditioned mind, which is the basis of this consciousness.

Notice what a curious thing we have here. We talk about individual consciousness. We speak of this individuality of “I.” What is the truth of this individual consciousness? The truth about this is that we do not have individual consciousness. Our so-called “consciousness,” which is the conditioned mind, is the consequence of an entire conditioning process throughout human history. Thus, we are always religiously, politically, philosophically, and intellectually moving within this conditioning. Our actions are born from these conditioned thoughts. They are actions centered and biased, all revolving around this center, which is the “I.” A false center. The sense of identity present here and now, being this thinker. What is the truth about this thinker?

This thinker is this “I.” This set of memories, of remembrances. There is no such thing as “I,” therefore there is no such thinker. It is something that conditioned thought itself is producing. So, when we affirm this identity present in the experience, this entity is a fraud, an illusion. What is present is not this “I.” What is present is a set of expressions of psychological conditioning, memory programming, and reacting to the present moment.

Thus, our actions, the actions of this “I,” this “me,” are egocentric. The actions of this so-called “thinker,” this “I,” are actions that produce confusion, disorder, conflict, and suffering because they arise from a context of history, where, for millennia, human beings repeat themselves in their ancient patterns of violence, envy, aggression, fear, and suffering. And all of this is present in this “I.”

So, this consciousness is an illusion. This individual consciousness is not real. To investigate the nature of this consciousness is to end the false, particular, and personal consciousness to something new, outside of all that is known, to the emergence of something entirely new in human existence, in human life. Thus, this human consciousness, this human mind, and here there is another question: “What is the human mind? How does it work?” Now, we put it here for you. The human mind is this egoic mind. It is this human conditioning of life, of existence.

So, we are here working with you to end the illusion of individuality, of this individual consciousness. The Reality of this Being that we are is the Real Consciousness of God, which is Love and Happiness. However, this is outside the known, outside this movement of thinking, feeling, and acting within this conditioning pattern prevailing to everyone. Then, the presence of this Real Consciousness is the Awakening of Real thinking, this Real Intelligence, this new way of living, feeling, and moving in the world. This is viable when you approach the Self-observation of the very movement of this consciousness of the “I,” this egoic consciousness, this illusory personal consciousness. The art of approach to this is to observe this movement without mistaking yourself for it, without identifying with it. That is the approach to True Meditation. There is nothing like Meditation, which is the approach to the Revelation of Real Intelligence, Real thinking, Real feeling, Real “moving” in the world without this sense that is the “I,” the ego.

Then, when True Meditation flourishes – here on the channel we have an extensive playlist showing you what this Real Meditation is and how to get closer to the Truth of Self-Awareness so that True Meditation flourishes. It is when you approach the Truth of this Being, Consciousness, and Happiness, which is the Divine Nature, the Nature of God; then What is real is present. The contact with Meditation, with the Truth of Meditation, with True Meditation, not with what people out there understand as meditation.

This word came from the East, and we here in the West have transformed it into techniques, practices, and all kinds of things to calm down, silence the mind, relax, and de-stress to fulfill human desires and purposes. But the Truth of Meditation is the acknowledgment of your Divine Reality, the Reality of your Being. That is the end of the illusion of this sense of separateness, of ego-identity; it is the Awakening of Wisdom. When Meditation flourishes, the Reality of God is present. That is the Awakening of the Sage, the Awakening of Truth; it is what some call Spiritual Enlightenment.

Thus, this work here consists of this observation, this study of ourselves, this approach to investigating the nature of this illusory “I,” this thinker, this false thinking, this illusory feeling, this illusory acting. So, that is our purpose here. We have online meetings on the weekends. You can find the WhatsApp link here, in the video description, to participate in these meetings. We have face-to-face meetings and also retreats. If this makes sense for you, give a “like” and subscribe to the channel, OK? And let us work on this together. OK? Thanks for the meeting, and see you.
