The purpose of our meetings here is to investigate the truth of what, today, at this moment, in this instant, constitutes life. We are together here, taking a very close, very direct look at what is happening within each one of us in this relationship with life. What we have called “life,” as we are living it, is something that has become very complex, very complicated. Will there be a new way of living and, therefore, a new approach to life, within a new perspective on all this? That is what we are exploring with you here.
In these videos, here on the channel, we have been talking to you about this blossoming of Intelligence, which is the Awakening of your Divine Nature. This requires, before anything else, the need for comprehension. So, we have been putting things in a slightly different way than what you usually hear. Thus, today I want to touch on this subject of the beauty of comprehension. I make a very clear distinction between understanding things and having a comprehension of them. You can understand things – like, for example, understanding what needs to be done – or you can get closer, get closer to it, within a comprehension that is not a mere understanding, for example, of what needs to be done, but rather, in fact, doing it.
There is a difference, and we have to clearly note this within our proposal for life, this proposal for existence, because otherwise we remain in the realm of theory, in the realm of ideas. For example, you know that you need to lose weight, you are overweight; so, you need to lose weight. This is not doing you any good, there is an urgent need to lose weight. And you understand this very clearly, you have already understood this. Your body itself is complaining about this extra weight, so you understand the need to lose weight. And yet, you say to yourself: “I will start tomorrow. I will start doing what I need to do to lose weight.”
This is an example of what we have to comprehend here in terms of Awakening of Consciousness, regarding this Realization of the Truth, of the Comprehension of your Divine Nature and, therefore, of Happiness. Because when you say, “Tomorrow I will start,” notice, there is a chronological tomorrow, but there is also a psychological tomorrow. You never really start tomorrow, because that tomorrow does not exist. You have an understanding of the need to lose weight and the thought within you is creating a tomorrow. This is an example of how we function psychologically, regarding this comprehension of Truth. We do not have this comprehension of Truth, we have a mere intellectual, verbal understanding of what should be done, of what needs to be done, but thought is pushing this task to tomorrow. This is the psychological tomorrow, there is no such thing as a psychological tomorrow.
I used this example here, but putting it from the viewpoint of this blossoming of Intelligence, this Awakening of Wisdom, this Realization of God, then it becomes much clearer. You know that you need to love your neighbor, you know that you need to live the Truth, feel the Truth and tell the Truth. However, psychologically, internally, our psychological movement of being someone puts us in states of contradiction between what, intellectually, we know should be done and what we actually do. This occurs because of these internal states in which we find ourselves, which are internal states of contradiction.
Note that, as human beings, in this psychological condition of egoic identity, we live in contradictions between thinking, feeling and acting. This occurs because we know something intellectually, but we feel something else emotionally, sentimentally. So, we know what should be done, intellectually, but we feel no pleasure in it emotionally, sentimentally. Thus, there is an internal movement of contradiction between knowing and living, between understanding and comprehension. Here, we need to discover the Truth of That which we are; we cannot remain in this psychological model of time.
So, I have been talking to you here about the importance of Self-Awareness and the need for this comprehension, this differentiation between psychological time and chronological time. Here, we are studying with you how the mind works, how we react psychologically to life experiences, to the challenges that life presents to each of us. We are faced not only with the challenge of losing weight, but with the challenge of discovering a life free from psychic suffering, from psychological suffering.
An integral, real life is a life where we have the presence of Truth. Note that it is Truth that determines Freedom. We speak of Freedom, we speak of Truth, but we are unaware of both, because there is no Truth, much less Freedom, in these internal states in which we find ourselves due to this movement, which is the movement of the “I,” of the ego, in each one of us. Everything we present on the channel is quite challenging here, because we are challenging you to go beyond this movement, which is the movement of the “I,” of the ego. To go beyond this illusory sense of identity present at this moment in life, which is this thought, sense of person, of “I,” that is present in you. This requires the comprehension of yourself, not merely studying books about Self-Awareness, this value of Self-Awareness, in theory. Discovering how you function is discovering how actions happen.
Let me address a very important point with you here: this matter of actions. Note that life consists of relationships. We are always in relationships with people, with places, with situations… We are also in relationships, or in a direct relationship, with these processes within each of us, which are thoughts, feelings, emotions… But we do not comprehend the truth of these relationships. Relationships are established in actions happening. When a thought is present, you are in action. The presence of thought is the presence of an internal movement happening. This is action.
It is essential that we comprehend what our actions are as they happen. Our actions in life occur due to the model of this primary action, which is the action of thought. Notice how important it is to look at this, to have a closer look at this subject, which is the main subject for our comprehension. The subject is thought. What is thought? What is this thinking? Because thought is what determines the basis for our actions. All our actions arise from this background: speaking is an action, walking is an action, getting a glass of water is an action, eating is an action, listening is an action… and it is always thought, in this arrangement, as the basic, primary element, that makes our actions possible.
Therefore, without comprehending what thought is and how it is processed within each of us, we will not have a clear vision of what action in Freedom is. These actions within us are determined by thought, and if we have conditioned thought, trapped by patterns – as is usually the case with us in this model of ego-identity – our actions, based on thought, will be actions that will lead us to egocentric actions. And egocentric actions produce suffering for ourselves and for others. So, these internal states of contradiction in which we find ourselves at the level of feeling and emotion – let’s perceive this here, together – this is something that has determined the quality of life and relationships that we have. This is very simple, because thoughts generate feelings and feelings generate actions.
So, we come across something here that is basic to the life of relationships where actions are happening and that need to happen in a real way. Otherwise, which is this unreal way of things happening – and here this unreal way in the sense of how things are happening in this egocentric model of being someone – we are continually producing problems, falsifications, and illusions. We are not living the Reality of Love, but a falsification, the Reality of Peace, but a falsification. We are dealing with an illusion in this psychological condition of egoic identity. We do not perceive that these thoughts, within us, are decisive for this psychological, social, emotional – and also in several areas of our lives – placing us within a false, illusory, problematic condition.
We do not comprehend what thought is, we do not perceive that it is these thoughts that are leading us to actions all the time. And I will repeat this: thoughts generate feelings that generate actions; because thoughts generate ideas, ideals, purposes, objectives, targets... Whether it is as simple as getting a glass of water from the fridge, or investing in a business, which is something a little more complex. But these actions are also determining, within the totality of life, the quality of what is happening to us. And these actions are determined by thought.
Is there a new way of acting in life? That is what we are discussing with you here. The answer to that is: Yes! Action free from the ego, action free from this egocentric center and, therefore, free from thought. Notice what a fascinating thing we are going to touch on here, now, with you: life is happening at this moment and it asks, it demands, it challenges us to give it an answer, here and now, but our answer is always coming from the past, from ideas, from remembrances, from memories. So, our model of action is egocentric because it comes from the past, from a center that has stored experiences and is acting from these past experiences, within our relationships.
At a certain level, thought is needed for a very objective action, such as getting a glass of water from the fridge, but from the viewpoint of relationships with the totality of life, the model of thought is not only unnecessary, but it is giving identity to this center that is the “I,” which is the ego, and putting us in a disposition of egocentric action, which produces problems. “My contact,” for example, with my wife, with my husband, with my children, based on thought, is based on an image that “I have” of them, that they have “of me.” This contact between people is between thought, with thought, in conflict, because the sense of the “I,” of the ego, is self-centered, it is always involved in its own self-interest.
So, our psychological movement of existing as a person is egocentric, and this model of existence is based on thought. Thus, thought is an illusion in the context of real action. It shows itself to be falsifying the Truth of action, since this so-called “action,” based on thought, in our relationships, are reactions, something that comes from the past. The image that “I have” of you is the image of the good and bad moments that “I lived” with you in the past. Who is this “I”? This “I” is a set of memories, remembrances, recollections, which, in this contact with you, is reacting based on this self-image.
The idea that “I” have about who “I am” is an image that “I make of myself”; what is making this image is thought. “I have” an image about who you are; therefore, “my contact” with you is based on this image. Note, there is no Love in human relationships, there is no Peace in human relationships, there is no Freedom and Happiness, there is no Intelligence. Because our life centered on the “I,” on the ego, is a life in contradiction, where there is no Truth and, therefore, Freedom, which is present when there is real comprehension. We can theorize about loving, about being free, about living the Truth, but these are mere theories, concepts, beliefs. It is something that is based on this model of psychological thought, on this psychological time, on this psychological tomorrow.
This psychological time is an illusion, we have several videos here showing this. This idea of “I’ll start tomorrow” is a way that thought has to postponing. It is creating a tomorrow that does not exist, which is the psychological tomorrow. This tomorrow never comes because it is a tomorrow based on thought, but thought says one thing and feeling says another thing, or this thought is already adjusting to this model of feeling. So, we are falsifying the Reality of life as it happens when we are basing our life on this psychological model of being someone, within this psychological time that is not real. Are you with me?
We have several videos here on the channel, delving deeper into all of this with you. We are discussing the Awakening of Wisdom with you, the vision of life free from ego. In addition, we have the most important thing than all these videos: online meetings, on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, we are together delving deeper into this subject with you.
