What is Satsang? | The psychological conditioning | Conditioned mind | Duality | The egoic mind

What is Satsang? The word Satsang is a Sanskrit word that means “an encounter with the Self.” Sat is Being or Truth and Sang means “the encounter.” That encounter with the Self, that encounter with the Divine Reality of your Being is Satsang. This word in India is used in the sense of an encounter with a Realized Being; if you go to meet an Awakened Being, who is living in his Real Nature, that is, free from the psychological conditioning – and we are going to talk about it here and now, in this moment, with you –, you are before Satsang.

What is a Realized Being? He is the one who has awakened to his Real Nature, to his True Nature. An encounter with a Realized Being is, in fact, an encounter with yourself, with the one who has awakened to the Truth of your own Being, which is the Being of each one of us. Som this encounter is called Satsang. And here I want to investigate with you a fundamental aspect regarding this Awakening of your Essential Nature. Here I want to refer, I want to investigate with you this question of the conditioned mind. And yes, it is possible to go beyond this conditioning of the mind.

What is this conditioned mind? It is everything that over many, many years we have acquired within society, culture, the world, everything that we repeat within patterns of habits and behavior, holding us within a pattern, a model of egoism, of separation and, therefore, of duality, because there is this “the other and I,” “life and I,” “the reality of God and I.” This behavior, this pattern, this model of mind is something present because of this psychological conditioning. Our minds are conditioned, they are programmed. Our psychological life is reflected externally in our social life, in our actions, in this contact with people and the world around us, always presenting this conditioning.

The central idea of this “I” is to be a separate entity, living its own world, living its own history, living its own condition of perception of reality. So, this framing is, in fact, a psychological prison, that’s what this conditioning in us consists of, within each one of us. Here in these meetings, we are working to end this psychological conditioning, the end to this conditioned mind, in reality, the deconditioning of the mind. Unless we have a free mind, psychologically speaking, internally free from this model of thinking, feeling, and acting based on this center of this false “I,” grounded in an egocentric behavior, unless this sense of “I” loses this foundation, dissolves and disappears, our whole life will continue within this same pattern of behavior until the end of our days. The illusion about who we are gives us an illusion about who the other is and what life is all about.

So, this program of feeling and thinking, this psychological programming of being “someone” in the world, of moving in the world within this egoic center, this egocentrism, this pattern of behavior, always guided by ambition, envy, and violence because of the different fears that we bring, of which we are not even aware that they are present, all of this is part of this mental conditioning, of this conditioned mind. This work, with this approach of yourself, possible within Satsang, is what makes the investigation of the nature of the “I” possible for you.

Here we are together for this study of ourselves, for this investigation of ourselves, for this observation of this movement, which is the movement of this psychological person, this image, this idea, this mental representation that we have about ourselves. That is the purpose of these meetings, to study ourselves, to understand what goes on inside each one of us, that feeling, that thinking that leads us to action.

The thought in us is something that needs to be understood. How do we process this thing called thought? What is the truth of thought present within us? Observe that thought is nothing else in each of us but memory, recollection, and remembrance. Each and every thought present in you is a recollection, a memory. You cannot have a single thought that is not arising from a memory, a representation of an idea. Every idea is just a thought and every thought is just a remembrance, it’s just memory. Our way of thinking is within this frame of memory. We don't know what thinking is, we have a conditioned way of thinking. Our thinking always revolves around ideas, concepts, and beliefs. Watch your mind and you will realize how many conditionings or psychological memories you have. This is what I have called this model of thinking with this background of conditioning: psychological memory or psychological thinking. Observe the amount of psychological memory or thoughts around the history of your family, your culture, close relationships, things you've heard, read, which, in fact, are the result of advertising, the result of all that that has been passed on to you over these years.

Notice how much your life revolves around these expressions in speaking, thinking and acting. So, we are programmed to think, speak, and act within this programming of memory, family culture, social culture, and world culture. We have a conditioned mind, an already programmed behavior, there is no freedom in the egoic mind. This egoic mind – we call it the egoic mind because it has a center around which thoughts are happening, feelings are happening, emotions are happening, actions are happening, and sensations are being experienced – has an illusory center that has been taking over our lives. When you say “my life,” you are referring to this center, this illusory center, this “I,” this ego, and all behavior that arises from this center, this ego, is conditioned; and if it is conditioned, this is something stuck in a psychological pattern. This psychological pattern behaves in this relationship with life as it is, here and now, in a totally inappropriate way.

We cannot correspond to this present moment, we cannot give a Real answer to this instant; as this answer for Life, for Existence is claimed, we cannot give a Real answer, an adequate answer, because our action is all modeled within a behavior already structured in a programming that comes from the past. That pattern of behavior from the past, which is the behavior of the “I,” does not find a Real answer in life, a True answer, a complete response. Thus, there is always a contradiction between this thinking, feeling, and acting and this response to this present moment. It is the present moment that requires an intelligent response, free of the past, but all that “I” represents is the past, because it is that conditioning. What I want you to understand here, and you can observe this in your relationship with yourself, with others, and with life...

It’s curious when we use the expression “with yourself,” as if you were in a relationship with yourself. When there is this totality of Being, you do not exist in a relationship with yourself, there is only this Consciousness, there are not two, so it is not a question of a relationship with yourself. This relationship with yourself implies the presence of an illusory identity, which is the “I,” having an image of itself and trying to adjust to a behavior in which it, this “I,” feels comfortable with itself. This already shows us this contradiction, this duality, this sense of duplicity: “me and myself,” “me with myself,” “me fine with myself” – here we are already faced with this duality. With regard to life, to the other, the same thing happens, this “I,” this ego, carries an image of itself, and in this relationship with the other, it wants to keep feeling good about itself; so, its action is always an action that tries to adjust itself, adapt to what others expect from it.

We are here with you working on the end of the “I,” the end of the ego and, therefore, the end of that sense of separation between “you and the other,” between “you and life,” between “you and this Reality,” which is Existence as it shows itself here and now. However, this Truth of Non-Separation is not possible as long as this sense of “I” is present, because this sense of “I” is this conditioning that comes from the past trying to fit into this mysterious movement, which is the movement of life going on here and now, and it never happens. This is the psychological pattern of life that we have been experiencing and living. All the psychological disorders in the world, all the disorder, also of physical nature, in the relationship with the other, with the world, is something based on this internal disorder within each one of us, this internal confusion within each one of us, this pattern of conditioning that we are carrying.

To look at that movement of thought right now, of feeling right now, of emotion, of sensation, to become aware of that conditioning, when the mind approaches itself and observes its own movement, that’s when something new begins to happen, that’s when, through the awareness of the mind, seeing its own movement, it quiets down to observe, it silences to observe; in a very natural way, it begins to become aware of itself, of the psychological conditioning, of this pattern of history, culture, memory, and habit. What we express in our speeches, the behavior we have in our relationships with each other, our gestures, our way of acting, all of this is observed. The mind now becomes aware of this movement.

This approach of the mind to observe the inner, psychological conditioning is the mind becoming aware of itself, conscious of itself and therefore being open to the end of this egoic conditioning; it is when the mind enters into something entirely new, which is this deconditioning of everything it has accumulated, of everything it has kept, of all its beliefs, of everything it has been carrying over these years – in us there are thirty, forty, fifty, sixty years, but in humanity it has been for millennia; it is an extraordinary psychological conditioning. It is a conditioning that has imprisoned the mind within this pattern of behavior, feeling, emotion, and sensation.

When we approach this look at ourselves, here and now, that is when the mind is still and silent, and this movement of the “I” is observed; it is when the mind is open to this emptying of all the psychological conditioning. We need to know this deconditioning of the “I,” this deconditioning of the mind, this approach of that look, that simple and direct look at oneself, here and now. This is something that brings you closer to the end of the “I,” the end of the ego.

This is the subject we are bringing here for you. If this is something that makes sense to you, leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. I want to remind you: we have online meetings, face-to-face meetings, and also retreats, where we are working with those who approach. OK?

If that’s something that makes sense to you, join us! Thanks for the meeting!

Relationships deeply egocentric | How to practice Mindfulness? | Action free of the ego

What is this action free of the “I"? What is the activity completely free from contradiction, conflict, and that impulse usually based on desire or fear? What is action free of the ego? This subject comprises the issue of Attention. This Natural State of Attention to yourself eliminates the sense of an “I” present within experience. Some people call it “mindfulness” and interpret it wrong because they use this expression as something you can do or accomplish through a technique, practice, or discipline.

Your Natural State of Presence, Consciousness, of seeing free from the observer, feeling free from that element “I” present in that feeling, of thinking free from that element that is the idea, the conviction, the belief of a thinker present in that thought, this is the Natural State of Mindfulness. In this Natural State of Full Attention, there is no such “I” element. In these few minutes here, we are going to delve into that.

Our responses to this moment, to this instant – something is arising, appearing here, at this moment, in our lives – in general, our actions respond to this moment based on the thinking behind them, so they are actions born out of thought.

We must understand if we really want to find out what this Real Mindfulness is – as I have called it here on the channel – or how to practice Mindfulness – because this is a matter for many – we must clarify some things.

The expression “how to practice” shows that people are looking for a technique, a practice, a system to implement in their lives to have that Full Attention. Since people have been talking a lot about the expression “mindfulness” in the sense of something that the “I,” the ego, the person does, we have the idea of a technique, a practice, a system. Here, when I refer to this Full Attention, I am talking about this Natural State of Mindfulness or free Full Attention, naturally free from the “I,” from the ego and therefore free from that element which is thinking, the thinker.

The truth of this Mindfulness is the presence of Pure Consciousness, Pure Seeing, Pure Feeling, Pure Thinking, and what is This? What is this seeing, this feeling, this thinking that I call here Pure, Pure Consciousness? Something free from the sense of identity present. Consciousness, the way we know it, is mental consciousness and therefore it is consciousness based on a structure of thought. When it is present, there is no Truth of that Attention, that Full Attention. When it is present, we have an ordinary, common, habitual movement of thought responding to that moment through an action, a speech, or some movement still centered on this “I.” Thus, within that sense of an ego present, that state of unconsciousness is what we usually call consciousness because the sense of an “I,” an ego present, that movement that responds to this instant based on thought, is a movement of unconsciousness or, as I have called it here on the channel, of mental consciousness. So, our responses are in inattention; that inattention is the movement of this mental, egoic consciousness, and that is the absence of Mindfulness.

People have glimpses of this State of Mindfulness, and want to discover a technique or practice to temporarily abandon this sense of “I” in this Attention. Here, we work with you on something different from that. Here, when I refer to this Mindfulness, I am referring to something that is born very naturally when there is True Meditation. True Meditation is the awareness of the Truth of What is here and now, and that Truth is What reveals when thought is not present. Our thought has as its principle a remembrance, a memory, something coming from the past. Human beings live in an internal psychological condition and in this external relationship with the world based on this principle of personal identity, the identity of the “I,” of this unconsciousness, this absence of the Truth of their Being. So, our responses to this moment are always conflicting responses.

Our responses to this present moment, within that condition, which is the “I” condition, are always inadequate, because they are unconscious responses that have as principle the common model of the egoic consciousness. We are always in a relationship, for example, with others, and the basis of this relationship is the idea we have of them and they have of us. So, our relationships occur within this unconsciousness, the format of this present personal identity, which represents complete unconsciousness or what I have called egoic consciousness. There is not a response to this moment without the element of thought, of these images that I form of them and they form of me. Our entire relationship with the world, with others, with life, occurring in this format, this way, is typically conflicting; there is no Presence, no Consciousness. And why is conflict present? It is present precisely because there is the illusion of an “I” separating itself from experience, and in this separateness, the relationship is, of course, inadequate; it does not have a fluidity, a beauty, which is the Natural Beauty of the Presence, of Consciousness, of that Pure Being, that Pure Presence, that Pure Consciousness, that action free from separateness.

Follow this. Our contact with the other is based on the idea “I am here and they are there,” this “I” is a set of images I have about who I am, and “they” for me are just an idea, an image that I also have from them, and at that level of relationship, there can be nothing but some form of conflict. There is no real contact with the Reality of life as it Is when that element of separateness, which is the “I,” has the other as an image present. What I want you to understand is that when our life consists of this illusion of “someone” present within experience, the world is present to that “I,” who is the experiencer, and this is the absence of the Truth of Being, of that Pure Presence, that Pure Consciousness; then, at this instant, there is no such Attention.

Thought moves and produces this separateness, this illusion, creating this notion of “someone” present. Our work together is to discover the Truth of who we are, the Reality of your Being, the Reality of your Essential Nature, your Divine Nature; this discovery is Attention here and now. Looking at this movement of thought, sensation, or feeling, looking at this external or internal experience arising without putting this element that compares, judges, evaluates, analyzes; this comparison, this analysis, this judgment is something that comes from the model of thought; therefore, something that comes from the past. If that is present, we are naturally in conflict, because there is no fluidity, that Freedom of the awareness of what Is.

Our relationships are conflicting because they have this self-centeredness of the “I,” the reason behind these relationships are deeply egocentric. There is no Love, no Peace, no Freedom in our relationships, but rather this negotiation, this exchange, this particular view of the “I,” “me” with others. So, the sense of identity present produces all this disorder, confusion, and the absence of comprehension and truth in our relationships.

What is this inner state completely free from this sense of “I” and, therefore, from the image of others? It is your Natural Full State of Pure Consciousness; it is what I call Mindfulness. Hence, it is not a matter of practice, technique, or system for temporarily finding a kind of relief from this egoic state, from this pressure created by this sense of an “I,” which in this relationship with others is always centered in itself, this “I,” this ego, trapped in its little world and, therefore, in conflict with itself and with others, because there is no Love, no Peace, no Freedom.

Our work is to abandon this illusion of the “I,” so it is not a technique or practice to remove this egoic state for a time. All of this is part of this approach to Self-Awareness. Without the Truth of Self-Awareness, and here on the channel I have been talking about this Self-Awareness, the Truth about Self-Awareness – we have a playlist here on the channel working on this – this approach to Self-Awareness is what brings you closer to a view free from this egoic sense. And when the ego is not present, the sense of “I” is not present. That Attention is the Truth of the pure revelation of What is here when there is not that “I,” that self-image, that self-centeredness, that ego-identity.

Thus, the work of this approach to observe the movement of the “I,” this observation of the movement of the ego-identity, this sense of a present “I,” the observation of this movement itself, when we learn how to look at this movement, and this look requires this Attention, it is this consciousness, this being aware of yourself, seeing without the “I,” feeling without the “I,” when there is no judgment or comparison, when we don't want to get rid of or hold what we see in ourselves, it requires this full attention on ourselves, on that movement, which is the movement of the mind. It does not require effort, any volition or desire of that element “I.” It simply requires that real intention, interest to observe yourself, your reactions when fear, desire, or thought arises; feeling, emotion, whatever is arising is seen in that Real Attention to yourself, in that Full Attention on yourself.

When there is this deep interest, this intention, this joy in approaching that look, there is not this issue of emotion or sensation; it is just the simple observation, the fascinating interest of looking at it. What I have just called the “joy in approaching,” I do not mean an emotion, a sensation, or a feeling present, but rather being in this observation of yourself in this interest, of looking at yourself here and now. This form of approach is True Meditation. To look at the entire movement of the “I,” of the mind, experientially, at this moment; it is when that look is present, that Pure Consciousness is present, then Something outside this “I,” this ego, is revealed out of that thought.

That is our subject here on the channel. We have some playlists going deeper into this here with you. We have been talking on the channel about this Mindfulness, this Real Mindfulness, as well as the Real and True approach to Self-Awareness and True Meditation in practice. If this is something that makes sense to you, leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. We have online and face-to-face meetings and also retreats where we work on this with those who approach.

See you, okay? Thanks for the meeting!

The end of the search and Spiritual Enlightenment. Consciousness Awakening. Spiritual Enlightenment

We are working with you on this question of change: as long as there is no understanding of what is going on inside of us, we are stuck in this ancient and old pattern. So, this meeting of ours here is to investigate what we are, the inner and outer condition of our life, of our existence. Here we are investigating the nature of the “I,” deepening this question and moving towards this radical and profound change that is necessary in our lives.

Now, the behavior of human beings is very curious. Some come here to the channel and watch the videos, find them interesting, and, when they listen to these talks, they listen with the intention of adding more knowledge to all the knowledge they already have; so, in fact, it is just the intention of collecting more, of acquiring more, of learning more. We don't know what learning really is. For us, learning is to accumulate more knowledge, more information, and more experiences. So, when we come into contact with a subject like this, we believe that we need to keep this same format of learning, because we have a belief that the more we add to ourselves knowledge, information, and experience, the closer we get to our goals. This is so in many areas of our lives, in this ordinary human life, in this secular human life, and this same idea we transfer to a work like this.

We do not understand that the invitation in these meetings is to stop searching. When you realize what you hear here, when you experience what you hear here – and this is something that is possible now – there is no intention to accumulate ideas, information, knowledge, and experiences. Life is something that is present now, here, and the contact with this deep, radical, psychological, internal change that is needed, is something that we realize here and now. This is what I have called real learning. The real learning is learning about ourselves.

So, it’s not about accumulating more knowledge, more information, and more experiences. Knowledge, information, and experiences are dropped, and why? Knowledge is memory, it is something that stays with you only on an intellectual level. All the knowledge we have is only verbal, theoretical, conceptual. Unless this is actualized, realized in a practical, experiential way, it is not real learning, but rather accumulation of information, accumulation of knowledge. So, knowledge is dispensable and so is experience, as that which you practice and becomes a habit in your living, as in general happens with the various kinds of knowledge that when applied in a practical way is something we now have only as an experience coming from the past, repeating itself now as a practice of habit. That is not what we are here interested in realizing. Here we are interested in discovering the Reality of this Truth of What we are here and now. In this real learning we are not accumulating, we are not acquiring information, knowledge, and experience, we are living here and now this Reality, so this inner change, this psychological change occurs, it happens.

Here we are dealing with you on the end of the “I,” the ego, the end of the illusion of the sense of “someone” present within this experience. That “someone” present within this experience is actually the knowledge and experience happening here and now. Everything that we learn and practice, we are now, here, repeating, and we repeat because we are within this model of an identity here and now doing things. This is the illusion of an “I” present in this doing. The feeling we have is the feeling that we are now, here, being “somebody,” doing something, and what we do, we are doing based on experience, based on knowledge, and it shows as part of the habits of our lives. So that’s the presence of the “I,” that’s what we've been learning all this lifetime.

Everything that we have learned, that has become information, knowledge and action of practical experience, gives us this feeling today because of this habit of repetition and this illusion of this identity in this action. It gives us the illusory sensation that we exist in this present moment being “somebody.” So, all we have done in life is to acquire information, knowledge, and experience, and so to act from this sense of a present “me,” in this instant, in this moment. This is the sense of egocentrism, this is the sense of “me,” this is the sense of ego-identity, this is the sense of egocentrism in us. So, we feel like “somebody” present; that “somebody” is an image that we carry about who we are. This is not the Truth about who you are. This is something that the brain has acquired because of information, knowledge, and experience. It has acquired this ability, created and formed this image about who we are. So, this performance of this body-mind at that moment carries an image, which is the image we have about who we are, and the illusion is that there is “someone” present within this experience, this habit, this knowledge.

Here we are investigating the illusory nature of the ego, the illusory nature of the “I.” We are identified with this “I,” trapped in this process of thinking, feeling, experiencing, and acting based on the principle that we exist as an entity separate from the other, from life, from the world, and from God. This is the condition of egocentrism, of this “I” around which life seems to be happening. So, this image that we have of ourselves needs to disappear. When we are talking here about this deep change, about this real need for psychological change, we are talking to you about this psychological freedom and the ending of the identity of this “I,” in this instant, in this present moment. When we are talking about it here, we are talking to you about the importance of approaching a subject like this in a completely different way. The search needs to end.

Some of you found this channel because of this search, this quest for this thing called the Consciousness Awakening, which some of you also call Spiritual Enlightenment, others call God Realization. Now, it is important that we understand this. Up to this instant you are reading books, listening to lectures, studying, however, this is at the intellectual level, at the verbal level, at the level of more information and that becomes to you second-hand knowledge. That second-hand knowledge is just a belief. So, some of you have come into this channel in this search for Reality, this search for the Divine Reality, however, through books, lectures, videos, various forms of study, you have gone through various teachers, and the result of that is a huge amount of knowledge accumulated in your brain and almost no direct experience of all that you have heard and believe you have learned. We really learn something when the reality of it is present in our living, so what we have as theory, as belief, as idea, as knowledge is just something borrowed.

That which is really experiential is within this structure of your own body and mind, so it is something you are experiencing, it is not a theory, a belief, borrowed knowledge. Until this moment, all this movement in us is in this “search,” and when we approach a meeting like this, we want to turn all that we are hearing here into one more piece of knowledge, one more idea, one more belief, and it will not work in your life. The God Realization, the Consciousness Awakening , the Truth of Enlightenment occurs when the search is over. In this way the search will not end. As long as we are just passing from one experience to another, from one piece of knowledge to another, accumulating more and more, intellectually, information without a direct experience of it, there is no possibility of this Realization.

So, we are here working with you on the end of the search, this direct contact with this possible radical, psychological change within each of us. The Reality of God is What is already present. It is not more knowledge, it is not more experience that we need. All experience, as I put it just now, becomes just memory information. The very word “experience” means “to go through a state.” Every experience you can only report to me through a memory. The Divine Truth, the Truth of your Being, the Truth of God is no longer an experience. An experience is what you go through and then can intellectually, mentally, through thought, which is memory, remember. That is not the Divine Reality, that is not the Reality of your Being. This is Something that is here and now, and cannot be remembered, recalled, cannot be described as acquired knowledge or as a lived experience. So, the importance of this real learning, this new approach, of approaching the end of knowledge, the end of experience, the end of the search for this Realization. And we approach this learning, learning about ourselves here and now; and this learning is not knowledge being accumulated, it is not an experience being lived, it is the verification of what is happening here and now, in our mind, inside each of us. This mind needs silence, stillness; it is when the mind is silent, it is when this stillness is present. This silence, this stillness is something that happens naturally, simply, without any effort when you discover the art of learning about yourself, the art of studying yourself.

When we talk to you about the end of the search, we are clearly talking about the importance of the end of both knowledge and experience. So, it’s not about seeking more information, more knowledge, and having this intention to live experiences. The one who acquires information, the one who acquires knowledge, the one who lives experiences is still this “I,” this ego, whereas, the reality of approaching True Self-Awareness – what I've been calling here approaching Self-Awareness, I'm referring to True Self-Awareness – has the purpose of making you realize the Reality of this illusion, of the illusion of this image that thought has built about who you are, acting, moving in an action of habit, within this sense of an identity present in this doing, in this thinking, and in this feeling. So, this approach to Self-Awareness is what we need to have here and now, this is the real way of learning about ourselves. It’s not about accumulating more knowledge, information, and experiences, because, with that, we stay only in the field of intellect or even in the field of emotions, sensations, and all that is still part of this structure of the known, of what I have called psychological time.

What is this psychological time? It is the time constructed by the “I.” The “I” is this identity present in us that sees itself as being the observer, the thinker, the one who feels, the one who does, the doer of things, the one who chooses, the one who learns, the one who keeps, the one who experiences and then says what he knows, what he saw, what he felt, and what he did. That is the sense of a present “I.” The approach of Self-Awareness will show you that this “I” is an illusion, and this is only possible, listen to this, in an experiential way here and now, this is only possible when there is no longer the preoccupation with the search. The search is the idea that tomorrow I will realize This. Tomorrow, through all the knowledge, all the information, all the experience, I'll be ready, in the future, afterwards, after a while, to realize God, to have this Consciousness Awakening, to have this Spiritual Enlightenment. This approach of Self-Awareness reveals to you the illusion of this “I” within this movement of psychological time, of this structure that is the ego structure. All the action of this “I,” of this ego is an action that is based on the psychological time, which is this time built by thought, this time built by this “I,” an “I” that believes to have come from the past, believes to be present here and now, and walking towards the future.

What I want to tell you is that God Realization, the Consciousness Awakening , Spiritual Enlightenment is Something that is present now as the Truth of your own Being when the illusion of this “I,” when the illusion of this image – I mean, again, this self-image that you have about yourself, that you have about who is this person that you believe you are – when that ends, then this deep and radical psychological transformation, this psychological freedom, the end of the illusion of the “I,” of the ego is something that is present now, when there is no longer this matter of the search, when there is no longer this preoccupation with time to realize That.

So, in this channel, I am inviting you to stop the search, to put yourself in a condition where it becomes possible to start a real work on yourself. This real work on yourself starts from the investigation of this “I,” from the study of this thinking and feeling, the observation of this image inside yourself, each and every psychological movement of thought, feeling, sensation, emotion, and perception; this study of yourself in this approach of Self-Awareness, leaving aside all this old model of continuing to read dozens of books a year, taking several courses, studying intellectually, listening to words, doing practices, turning to systems of spiritual, religious, philosophical practices, exercising the mind and brain in this or that direction. I am inviting you to look at what is going on here and now in this learning about yourself. This is not a technique, this is not a practice, this is not following a system, this is not following a psychological, religious, philosophical model. This is a direct observation of this movement of the “I” in this approach to the Truth of what True Meditation is in living. Here and now, moment by moment.

So, when we look at ourselves, investigate ourselves, become aware of all this “I” movement, we approach the Reality of God. Actually, this Reality of God shows itself. So, this Reality of God shows itself here and now. It is not Something in time, it is not Something that comes from a learning through information, knowledge and experience, but, yes, from this real learning about ourselves, in this approach of Self-Awareness and the True Meditation in practice, in living.

Here on our channel, we have several playlists dealing with how basic and simple this is, and showing you – here on the channel and also in online meetings, face-to-face meetings, and retreats where we are working on this with those who approach us – the opportunity for a direct experience of this Truth. So, I invite you to come closer and understand better by looking at what is going on inside yourself. As you come closer and understand this better, you begin to realize the illusion of this false identity, and as this comes closer now, here, in this direct learning, there is the opportunity, yes, for this God Realization, this Consciousness Awakening, and what some call Spiritual Enlightenment.

Joel Goldsmith | Our Spiritual Resources | Concepts about God | Master Gualberto

GC: Hello everyone! We are here for another videocast. Once again, gratitude, Master Gualberto, for being here with us to share what the experience of this Natural State is like and answer questions people ask here in the comments. Thank you very much, Master!

Master, I want to read a little excerpt from Joel Goldsmith’s book called “Our Spiritual Resources.” In this section of the book, Joel says the following: “As long as there is some concept in our mind about God, it is finite, limited and circumscribed, and therefore cannot be God himself.” Master, how to go beyond concepts about God?

MG: Any form of concept... The problem is that with a concept you are faced with an idea, with a belief, with a suggestion of thought. So, concept is not the reality, concept is not the thing itself. We have said this many times to those of you who approach. Every idea you have doesn't deal with reality; it deals with a concept. The idea is basically a concept. The word “chair” is not that utensil you have around the dinner table. You can sit on that object, but the name of the object is “chair,” and that expression “chair,” which is the name of the object, is the concept. The word “God” is not God, it is a concept, it is an idea.

The problem, Gilson, is that we take the concept, the idea and turn the concept and idea into a belief. A belief carries in itself a background, not only of a thought about the object, but of emotion and, also, sensation about the object. So, when you believe in God, you are having a belief, which is just a concept, an idea with a background of feeling and emotion. If you were brought up, born in a communist country, where you are not taught about God, you would not have this concept of God, as there they do not have the concept of God and do not have any feeling or emotion towards this word. If you use that expression for someone brought up in a culture where the Reality of God is not taught... there the word “God” is just an idea, it’s just a thought, which doesn't make the slightest sense to them, because there is no feeling and emotion involved in that word. Here for us it is, so we have to approach it, as I have said many times, very calmly.

The Divine Reality, the Reality of Being, the Reality of God, That which I have called the “Unnamable.” And I prefer to call it that rather than “God,” because what we call “God,” everyone has his own! And it’s just a very personal concept, of feeling, emotion and sensation. So much so that people use the expression “my God” in a very particular way. It’s a very personal experience, this God-to-me thing, and it’s personal because it’s based on a belief, a feeling, an emotion, and a sensation relative to an image that you have, that you've created.

So, as long as there is... this is what he is saying: as long as there is any concept, any idea, there will not be this Reality of God, because the Reality of God is outside the mind, it is outside the idea, it is outside the concept, it is outside belief, it is outside feeling, emotion, and sensation. So, the reality of that piece of furniture you sit on, which is the chair, is not the word “chair.” The reality of God is not the idea, the concept, the belief that is made of God. Even because [He] is very, I repeat, very particular and personal, each one has his own, each one has his own image of God, of Jesus, and it’s just an image that thought produced based on conditioning, learning, in a teaching, within a culture where one believes in God. So, “let’s believe together too!”

Here, what we are approaching is the verification of the Truth of what God is, and not the idea, the belief, the concept. This is not real! An important point, Gilson, is the following: this is not an experience. It cannot be an experience. You see, the word experience means something you went through. You can only tell me about an experience you've had. If you've already had it and have it in memory, in remembrance, it’s not reality anymore, it’s just another idea, it’s just another image that moves in your brain like a memory.

So, the Truth of God cannot be an experience. The Reality of God is actually the end of experience, because it is the end of the experiencer. Because who is this that can experience and then remember? It is the “I,” the ego. So, again, this is not a concept, a memory, a word, an image, a belief. Contact with the Reality of God is the end of the “I.” That’s it!

GC: I would like Master to talk a little more about this issue of sensation, of feeling, because, within these concepts about God, within my experience, the studies I went through, many years on a spiritual journey, there are concepts, and much is said about something mental, hence when there is a feeling or a sensation it is something more real. And it’s very interesting how the Master puts it: that it’s the same thing! The sensation, feeling, thought, is all someone’s illusion! Can you talk a little more about it?

MG: That sensation, that feeling and that emotion: who does it happen to? That’s the question. The answer is very simple: “For me.” And what is present in that “me” now, in terms of a sensation, an emotion, a thought? Only that which is no longer, that which is not there. All you have of an emotion, a feeling, a thought, is something linked to the sense of someone present within that experience. What is the reality of this someone? A fraud, because the “I” is an illusion and what it experiences is part of what it embodies within its illusion, so it cannot be real.

We have, Gilson, placed great value on experience, because we see ourselves as the experiencer. When we start working on the matter of the end of the experiencer, which is the end of the “I,” we stop valuing experiences, that’s when we can really have access to something outside the experiencer, something outside the experience itself. Reality is not in time, and experience and the experiencer are in time. So much is in time that it can be reported, it can be told, it can be described, it can be lived and then remembered. So, it is something that is still part of the known.

The Reality of God is not like that. The Reality of that Truth is something out of time. It’s something timeless. It is something that is outside the body, mind and world, and therefore something outside the known.

The beauty of direct contact with the Truth of That which is your Being is that there is no one left to say anything about It, because there is nothing to say; because there is no one left to say something about; because there is no “I”! So, the Divine Reality is not an experience, there is no an experiencer, nor something to know, nor someone to remember what happened.

That, Gilson, is the beauty of the Meditative approach. Notice the difference between approaching what is real, which is Meditation – Real Meditation is True Meditation – and this so-called “meditation practice.” For example, when we practice meditation, we are there. For a few moments, you may have a space outside of time, but this also happens in everyday life. And, within a practice, within a technique, or a system, you transform that moment of silence into a memory, into an experience, into a recollection. There is no more Truth in it, because you are back, still being the experiencer, still being the rememberer, the recollector, the describer... If you don't describe for others, you describe for yourself, which is the same thing, because it’s you separating yourself, being two: one that speaks and one that listens.

So, the principle of illusion is present as long as there is an experiencer having experiences. So, these so-called “spiritual,” “mystical” experiences are experiences still within that field, the field of duality, of separateness, and, therefore, there is only the “truth” of the illusion of the “I” in these experiences, and nothing else.

Here, in this work, we are interested in discovering That which is outside the known, outside time and therefore outside the experiencer and experience. And That, when present, leaves no record; It is real, the ego doesn't capture It to make It its own and then say “look, I lived it, I felt it, I experienced it!”, “I had an experience of Kundalini Awakening or Enlightenment, or of Awakening of Consciousness,” “when my Kundalini awakened...” None of these proceeds within that real contact with the end of the “I,” which is the Real Presence in Consciousness, which is pure Meditation, which is You in your Being, outside of that “me,” of this “I.”

GC: Master, within this theme, we have a question from Marcos Hiar. He asks: “Master, I've been several times with a free mind, but then it wants to understand and force this process, and I realized that I only get there with a calm mind. And when it pushes, my mind is agitated, like in a tug of war. How to proceed to return to the center?” That’s his question, Master.

MG: So, we've just answered his question, haven't we? Someone’s idea of getting there... See, the idea of getting there... For you to get there, you have to know the address, and the address you now have, after that experience, is just a memory of a silence that you had. “You” who? Who lived this silence? It is exactly that “someone” who is reporting the presence of that silence somewhere, which he now has to reach again, has to get there again. So, see: this is a great fallacy, this is a great illusion, still, of the mind itself.

What has happened, Gilson, in general, with people, is that they have a moment of silence, which is really a moment of stillness, but it is still a stillness that I have called unnatural, because it is through a technique, a practice. So, you reach a certain silence of the mind, a certain stillness, and then you stay with the address of that silence, with the address of that stillness, and then with the purpose of coming back to that silence, this stillness. So, what do we have inside this game? Still a movement within the known, within the limitation of the own “I,” the own egoic identity.

What has happened, Gilson, is that, in these different so-called “meditation practices,” the meditator just keeps quiet, he is forced into silence, he is forced into stillness; the brain settles down, the mind goes silent, the sense of “I” is there without doing any mischief. But when meditation is over, he himself says: “It’s time to go back,” and he comes back with all that record of well-being, silence, stillness, peace that he lived, and he comes back with that address, wanting to return to that place again, and that place he calls “the center.” “How to get to this center?” We have to rule it all out!

When there is True Meditation, there is no experiencer, so there is no experience. If the experience is not there, because there is no experiencer, there is no record. The beauty of this encounter with what I have been calling the True Meditation is that when there is True Meditation there is no “you.” When there is Meditation, the sense of the meditator disappears. But it doesn't disappear to come back again, it really disappears! So, it is not recorded, because it is not valued, it is not being temporarily sidelined through a technique or practice.

I have explained this in videos and in face-to-face meetings as well, in a much more direct way. We must have a very real approach to ourselves in these matters, or else, Gilson, we fall into a trap. That sense of “I” has been running the game for millennia. So, it has a way to hide itself, has a way to hide, has a way to preserve itself, and that’s what it’s been doing! So, if you follow a simple religious life of practice, following and only reading, studying books, and practicing different meditation techniques, and going from one practice to another, you may simply be fooled by the ego, and you may spend a lot of time [like this], maybe a lifetime!

We are dealing with the illusion of a sense of identity that, despite being illusory, is very real for its purposes. It’s been around for millennia and it knows how to hide. So, it hides itself through religious words, through religious practices, through mystical practices, through book readings, through studies, through experiences, especially those experiences that take you away from this boredom, this tedious thing, which is living in this stress of the ego. Then, you have a few moments and you are delighted, because that practice gave you something. In fact, it relieved stress, relaxation, you had an experience. And when you have some visions? And when do you really notice something that you believe is outside the ego and is really just another mystical experience? So that’s the point! This is the point! We have to be careful with this... We have to be careful with this.

GC: Master, but it’s very easy for the ego to get carried away with these experiences. I remember that, when I approached this work with you Master, I was experiencing something very close to what Marcos commented on in this question. I had some experiences where I felt a stillness, a peace, and then all the affliction and this duality of being someone came back, and soon I had an experience... But the detail is that the ego was there in that experience, recording it, being in it and liking it, and wanting to hold on to that experience.

And, as the Satsangs go by, these encounters with the Master, in that proximity, the Master sweeps away this experience, this grasping, living an experience and grasping: “It is my experience.” Because this decoy ego gives is a trap, it’s amazing how it takes possession of the experience. It registers the memory and it’s a nice memory, a pleasure, a relaxation... then it wants to go back to that experience. And with the Master, in this approach, I see that, when there is a state of True Meditation in Satsang, which I receive from the Master, it is something I have nothing to talk about later, you know? I don't know, I just know that the retreats ... the retreat at the end of the year, Master, which lasted seven days... When the retreat started, the retreat ended shortly after, and then there’s not much to talk about, because it passed, you see?

So, it’s really funny how the ego can't take hold of experiences and be present. It’s out of time, it’s grace!

MG: The point, Gilson, is that when we deal with the absence of the “I,” which is the absence of the ego, we are dealing with something that doesn't register. The ego is the recorder. The ego is the one who experiences, keeps, and cultivates. Our life, daily living linked to the sense of a present “I” – which is the life of human beings – is so stressful, boring, tedious and so painful that anything we have, that we receive, to temporarily escape a pain, a suffering, we soon register it to look for it again.

Humans have a very addictive behavior to flee pain for pleasure. And, when you have this religious inclination, you don't run away to drugs, you don't run away to alcohol, you don't run away to the betrayal of your partner, your wife, your husband. You, when you have a religious bent, you run away to God, but it’s still an escape. These readings that we never stop reading, it brings an emotion, a feeling. These different practices of prayers, of meditation, it gives you a breath, it adds something that, in truth, is wonderful; it’s not the drugs, it’s not the world, it’s not the addictions, it’s something that gives you the impression inside you that you're on the way. Even because books help you believe that you are on the path.

The experiences are beautiful, they are wonderful, but Gilson – have patience in listening to me – they are still experiences of an experiencer and, therefore, still function as temporary escape mechanisms from the affliction that is living entirely in the ego. This is not an approach of Self-awareness; it is not an approach of Meditation in a real way.

We've done this with our lives. People spend many years, a lifetime, in a religious life, experiencing wonderful, very pleasant moments, but they still remain within that sense of separation: there is God and them. And, to live that moment they call “moment with God,” they need to be in that practice, or that reading, or that meditation, or that ritual. And this is not the end of the sense of ego, this is not yet the end of the illusion of this “I,” this “me,” this one who suffers.

What people are looking for, Gilson, is consolation, it’s comfort. Here, we are working with you on the end of the “I,” the end of illusion, something outside of everything that your mind can idealize, believe, think, or seek. The Reality of Truth about You is that You are Bliss, you are Love, you are Bliss, you are Joy, you are Peace! But not the peace that we know in the ego, not that so-called “religious peace,” not that so-called “religious happiness,” which is that happiness of the moment of prayer, the moment of worship, the moment of practice. When the time for practice, meditation, worship, adoration, or prayer is over, we are back to those internal states of jealousy, envy, fear, and boredom.

The Reality of That which You are is not an experience, and people can mistake these wonderful experiences for Reality. Reality is not an experience. It is something entirely indescribable, because it is outside the mind, outside the experiencer, outside language, outside the word, outside memory, it is outside the register. That’s it.

GC: Master, I remember that meditation, the practice of sitting and meditating, was a huge escape for me, because the moment I was in a stressful or challenging situation, I would run to my little room, cross my legs and stay there doing my meditation. It was so yummy! The ego loves this escape, because it detaches itself from the experience of pain or discomfort and runs, runs to a solution. And these practices, as the Master says, ease that pain. In reality, they don't solve anything, they just sweep it under the rug and keep that separation. Now, living, facing it – not facing it in the sense of “being present” –, it’s only with Grace, it’s something that the ego, by itself, doesn't have the strength to be in that Oneness. It is separation, it is this illusion, so it perpetuates itself. Now, with the Grace of Master, this falsehood is seen, it is seen, it is impossible not to see it when close to the Master!

MG: And look, Gilson, how subtle all this is: we haven't really broken with the ego-identity condition. Despite all these wonderful moments that we have in these experiences – which I have just stated are just moments of temporary escape from the ego –, we don’t break with jealousy, we don’t break with envy, we don’t break with fear, we don’t break with the conflict and contradictions that desire causes in us, we don't break with violence, we don't break with stress, we don't break with the ego. It is still alive, but we enter into an ideal: “Look, I haven't managed it yet, but one day I will. So, I will continue doing my practices, because with time I will succeed.” Here is an ego trap: we put the idea of time in order to accomplish It. “Tomorrow I'll succeed,” then you look at yourself...how many years have you been doing this practice? And then you look and it’s all still there; and then you say, “No, I need one more book to read, or a little more prayer, or a little more meditation, or more time in practice.” What is actually happening is that the sense of “I” is having its continuity unseen!

The work with Meditation, which is based on Self-awareness, is to become aware of what is happening here and now. If it’s envy, it’s envy; if it’s fear, it’s fear; jealousy, it is jealousy; anger, it is anger; desire, it is desire; conflict, it is conflict; boredom, it is boredom; anguish, it’s anguish. “What is going on here? Let me look at this. Let me become aware of this internal state without adding an identity to fight it, to try to get rid of it or do something about it. Let me observe this movement of the ‘I’, of the ‘me’.” To look at this is to approach in an experiential way what I have called Self-awareness. This gives you the basis for the Truth of Meditation, because Meditation is becoming aware of this entire movement of the “I” as it arises, here and now.

This is the moment! It is the moment when thought arises with images, feeling arises with sensations, sensations arise with feelings and thoughts... Becoming aware of yourself here and now: this is Self-awareness, this is self-observation and that is contact with True Meditation. Looking at it and not judging, not condemning, not rejecting, not identifying, not running away either, is getting closer to discarding this psychological conditioning, because it is being seen by this Intelligence, by this Consciousness. It is when you are really open to the Power of Grace, for the Power of Truth to work in that body-mind, destroying this conditioning, which is cerebral and is in the body as well, as conditioning.

This is contact with True Meditation, this is contact with the Truth of your Being. It’s not running away, continuing to study, studying, studying something out there. It’s studying yourself; it’s observing yourself; it’s becoming aware of yourself. We have a lot of theory, [we] read a lot, we studied a lot, so now it’s time to study yourself, observe your reactions, what goes on there, observe this background of conditioning, observe this whole process of the “I,” including this process of running away.

GC: Master, I repeat, I think that in almost every videocast I say: Master’s speeches are very revolutionary! Because, in the world, what is said is that the escape is exactly for drugs, or for food, or for drink, and then the Master says: “No, no! It’s not just that. Escape is for this whole feeling of separateness or this seeking to become.” So, the escape to seek God is a different quality of escape, but it’s still this “little me” in this falsehood of being somebody staying alive. It is very beautiful, because the ego does not see it. No way! The ego is polished, beautiful, because now it is seeking God, it is dedicating itself, it is reading. And it is empowered by this! But it is all very subtle, Master, that’s why I say: without the Grace of a living Master, how is the ego going to see this? It won't see it! It keeps camouflaging itself and perpetuating itself in this quest to become: “No, I need to practice more or I need to study more, I need to read this book more, or I need to read this same book fifty times. One day...” It’s a trickery, a naughty thing, which has no way for the ego to see itself. It perpetuates itself like that, doesn't it, Master?

MG: How many people say, Gilson: “It was the search that brought me here for a meeting like this.” And I say: “No, it wasn't the search, it was the tiredness! You are already tired.” The search has something wonderful about it: the search will make you tired. What brings you the Presence of Truth is the Truth itself, not the search. Your search is your search. There is a difference between you being in that search and Reality finding you. Reality finds you, but It doesn't find you because of your search. In fact, there is only God looking for Himself, and it is only Reality that finds you, and that’s when you are already tired of your search. Your search is confused, of readings, of studies, of leaving one religion for another, of one practice after another... until a moment arrives in which the Presence of Grace reveals itself, and when It reveals itself, the search ends.

It was like this in my meeting with my Master: when Grace revealed itself, the search ended. The quest ends! And then a real work begins to happen, and it’s real because there won't be anything else, there won't be any other means. Everything that used to be an escape will no longer exist. Everything will really be taken away. That’s when real work starts to happen, and the ego is naturally worried, resentful, but maturity is what will determine this Truth of Grace, in its power, in its wonderful and inexplicable kindness and compassion, to work. And it is That that realizes, that does, gives it to you, that makes absolutely everything! It is That that takes away, that gives, that does everything! It’s wonderful!

GC: Master, I remember a Satsang, the first time I heard you saying: “It wasn't your search that brought you here,” and then a whirlwind of thoughts came: “Wow, but I went through that study, I went through that other, I went through the other, another, another until I got here. Damn life!” And then it took a few Satsangs before the “penny dropped” … wow! I just got in the way! I did everything to get in the way, in the way, in the way of this Grace reaching my life. And it really arrived because I got tired, I got tired! Wow... study, study, meditate, meditate, meditate... When I couldn't take it anymore, I was exhausted from tiredness, Grace appeared.

MG: People get really mad at me when I say that.

GC: Yes, I know, Master.

MG: People get very upset, very upset.

GC: I was too.

MG: Because the ego believes that it is doing everything. Even in its search for God, it thinks it is the one going towards God. No, it’s not that.

GC: It does everything to get in the way of this happening, right, Master?

MG: Yes.

GC: Master, our time here is already over. So, gratitude, Master. Thanks for this Satsang. We invite those who did not have the opportunity to participate in the weekend intensive with Master. These videocasts are interesting, but it’s just a glimpse of this Real Investigation that he does in these intensives, both online and even more when it’s in person. So, if there’s something that burns or if you're already tired... right, Master? If you're tired, Grace presents itself, and then if the ego doesn't bring a lot of resistance and trickery to escape, come to Satsang and allow yourself to be torn apart by this Grace, because ego is going to die.

MG: There’s coming the retreat, right, Gilson?

GC: Yes, Master, now in July. Ten-day retreat... wow! It’s going to be a big intensive of self-investigation, so here’s the invitation. Here in the first comment, there’s the WhatsApp link. And leave a comment, leave a “like,” subscribe to the channel, because YouTube recognizes that the content is relevant and distribute it to more people. Master, gratitude, gratitude.

MG: Thanks guys, see you soon.

Spiritual Awakening | Awakening of Real Consciousness | Fourth state of Turiya | Advaita Vedanta

What is this Spiritual Awakening? Let me talk to you about that, right here in these next few minutes. Spiritual Awakening is the Truth of your Being unfolding. We are not living the Truth of our Being. We are living the psychological condition that was given to us as an inheritance of human culture, this is what we are living. We are not enjoying the Beauty, the Singularity, the Grace to live this Spiritual Awakening, we are living in egoic identification.

“Our” human life, as we live it today, consists of problems of every kind, of every type, suffering of every kind, of every form – and here, of course, I am referring to the psychological suffering – and that it is very common in that “I” state, in that ego state, which is that condition so known to all of us as “human life.” We were born to realize the Truth of our own Being, to assume It. Such is a life free from the sense of separation, of duality.

What is this duality? It is the idea of “someone” present in life, so that there is life and there is you, there is you and there is the other, there is you and there is a world, there is God and you, this is duality. The illusion of duality is the condition of life in the ego. It is the condition of an existence separate from Divine Truth. So, Spiritual Awakening – some also call it the Awakening of Consciousness – is the Truth of this Real Consciousness, here and now. We believe we are aware of this Consciousness. No, we are aware, we live in that “being conscious,” and that “being conscious” is being aware from the viewpoint of the sense of separation. There is no Truth in this idea of being aware of that Consciousness, this is just a thought in us, it’s just a belief in us. Let’s clear it up here for you.

The Reality of your Being is pure Consciousness, that is the Divine Truth, the Truth of your Real Identity. That’s not in time, That’s not in the world, That’s not in experience. In this experience, in time and in the world, there is this sense of “being conscious,” you are aware of emotions, sensations, feelings, and thoughts, but there is this “you” that is aware of that, and here comes duality, that’s what I have called being conscious. So, you are conscious of thoughts, emotions, sensations, and perceptions, you are aware of the other, you are aware of the world, you are aware of God, but what you have in this “being conscious” is a belief. Such belief, in this duality, makes you aware of this other thing, so there is “the world and you,” “the other and you,” “God and you,” “that thought and you,” “that feeling and you,” here lies the illusory principle of separation, of duality. Understand this, how interesting it is to have this approach.

The whole view of life from this “I” gives you this view of being conscious. That consciousness I have called egoic consciousness or mental consciousness, only there can you be conscious, within that separation and duality. So, this life centered on the “I” is a life in separation. Here the Truth of Spiritual Awakening or the Truth of Awakening of Consciousness is the Awakening of this Real Consciousness, which is the Nature of Being, which is the Nature of God. Your Natural State is of Non-Separation, it is of Non-Duality. There is no “the other and you,” “the world and you,” “God and you.” The Truth of your Being is the Truth of the other, it is the Truth of the world, it is the Truth of God, this is Spiritual Awakening, this is the Awakening of Consciousness.

The condition of the human being is that he is born, grows up, lives his life for thirty, forty, seventy years, raises family, grandchildren, builds, accomplishes everything, but he does not verify the Truth of his Being, so there is no realization of God. After all these years, he dies without any awareness of the Truth about who he is, because that Spiritual Awakening, the Awakening of Consciousness, has not taken place. Here, our work on this channel – there are also online meetings, face-to-face meetings, and retreats – consists of looking at what we are and Awakening in this life, Awakening to the Truth of our own Being. There is Something beyond this world, this world of being conscious, this world of separateness, this world of “I and non-I,” this whole contradiction, dilemma, conflict, and problem that is human life. There is Something different from all these, and it is this Life in God, that Life in Real Consciousness, which is Happiness, which is Love, which is Peace and Freedom. How do we approach this? By self-observation. We need to observe how we function psychologically, internally. Internally, psychologically, our functioning in that egoic consciousness, which is “I” consciousness, is working within the egoic mind, that egoic mind pattern, that “I” consciousness pattern. And what pattern is this? It is the pattern of psychological conditioning.

You think the thoughts of humanity, all the thoughts in you are thoughts that you have received from the culture; all beliefs, ideologies, political, religious, philosophical, humanistic positions, family traditions, all this is part of a conditioning of culture, of humanity, the model of thought in you works like this. So, our brains are conditioned to a pattern, a patterning of conditioned thinking, feeling, and action. Here on this channel, I have been talking about the important issue of psychological deconditioning. Assuming the Truth of your Being is possible when you go through this process of mental deconditioning and psychological deconditioning, when this programming is undone. That’s why we are always working with you on the basic question of Self-awareness, of Meditation, this is something that becomes present when we discover the art of unlearning everything that has been built over millennia in humanity.

You are thirty, forty, fifty, seventy, eighty years old, but this cultural, social, educational, and family heritage is something ancient. So, generation after generation, we're just continuing this format of being “somebody,” living in this experience of “I.” That experience of “I” is that experience where the experiencer is living his experience. In that experience, he is the center of it, that is the sense of ego, of ego-identity. In the “I” you are the center of your world, your world of actions, relationships, behavior, experience, feelings, and thoughts. That “I” is the center of all that. That’s what gives us the illusion of being conscious, it’s just an illusion of being conscious, because, in fact, that “being conscious,” which is that consciousness in duality, in that sense of separation, that consciousness is sleeping. It is the consciousness similar to what you have while sleeping and dreaming, where you have the experience of the world around you, you see people, you see places, you relate, but that is not real. That is a production of the mind itself; there the mind is producing that world. This mind is a set of memories and remembrances projected in that dream world while your body sleeps at night; when you wake up, you are clearly aware, now, that it wasn't real, but while the dream was happening, it was very real. So, what we call consciousness, here and now, is something similar to that consciousness you have during your dream, it is not real.

Real Consciousness is in Spiritual Awakening, it is in the Awakening of Consciousness. When there is no longer the sense of an “I” present in the experience, there is no longer the experiencer, when there is no longer the sense of a thinker producing thoughts, which is completely false, because this is not real. Mind is the reason for these thoughts, thought creates the illusion of a thinker, so we believe we are thinking these thoughts, but actually these thoughts are there; a fragment splits off to be the thinker giving us the illusion of a thinker. Just as in experience what is present is the experience, but thought creates the illusion of “someone” in that experience, creates the illusion of that experiencer. All of these are tricks of thought itself in that dream, in that consciousness, which is the egoic consciousness, which is the consciousness of the “I.” This requires an observation of this internal movement within each of us, this requires an observation of this movement, which is the movement of the “I.”

So, the Awakening of Consciousness, Spiritual Awakening, is something that becomes possible when you become aware that you are inside a dream – the dream of ego-identity. The Indian expression is Turiya for a different state, completely different from this egoic consciousness. Turiya is the fourth state. We know the waking state – that which we believe we are not sleeping is the waking state, but that is a dream – we have a dream state – which is what we have at night when we lie in bed and have our dream – and we have deep sleep, where there is neither the waking state nor the dream state. But there is a fourth state, which is the State of Turiya, which we have been talking about here on the channel: it is your Natural State of pure Being, the State where this Real Consciousness is present, only then are you really Awakened. That’s why it is called the Awakened State or Spiritual Enlightenment for the one who realized That. This is the Awakened State, Spiritual Enlightenment, Awakening of Consciousness, or Spiritual Awakening, they are different terms that here on the channel I clarify for you what, in fact, it represents, because there is also a lot of confusion out there. People use these terms in a completely wrong way. They don't really know what they are dealing with, what they are talking about. You are aware of That when this Natural State – I prefer to call it the Natural State – takes place there, only then are you an authority to talk about It. Before that you are just talking about something you are imagining, because you read it in books, because you heard it, because you watched a video about it, and it’s not real.

Here we are talking to you from this Reality, from this Experience, from this Flourishing, from this Awakening. Your Natural Divine State, your Natural State of Being is the State of Turiya. Only in this State there is no longer the sense of separation, the sense of duality. This is the Real State of Advaita, straight from Advaita Vedanta, the State of Non-Separation, Non-Duality, Non-Separation. Non-duality is Advaita, straight from Advaita Vedanta, it is the State of Turiya, it is you in your Being, in your Natural State, where That which is present is Love, Wisdom, Truth, and Bliss. So, there is no more psychological suffering, there is no longer this psychological time, as I have been addressing here on the channel. We have here on the channel some playlists talking about this psychological time, about the Truth of True Meditation, about the Truth of this approach of Self-awareness; here we have several playlists dealing with these subjects, such as Kundalini, what is Kundalini Awakening, what is the truth about it, what is the truth about Meditation, the True Meditation. We also have another very interesting playlist that is about this true approach of Self-awareness, about Spiritual Enlightenment. It is necessary to have a direct understanding of this, non-theoretical, non-verbal, non-intellectual, non-imaginative, and here on the channel we are working on this with you. Our work together here is an experiential approach to that.

So, I want to invite you: we have online meetings, where we are working on this, we have face-to-face meetings and also retreats. So, if this is something that makes sense to you, here in the video description there is our WhatsApp group, you can join this group and be aware of what is happening within this work. OK?

If that’s what makes sense to you, here’s the invitation and we'll see you in the next one, okay? See you soon!
