The art of Meditation. The observer is the observed. Learning about Self-awareness. Real Meditation

I want to talk to you here about this approach to the art of meditation. What is Meditation? What is Real Meditation? Here, we have addressed this to you. Meditation is the awareness of this Being. This Being reveals itself when there is the presence of this space, a space of liberation from contradiction, disorder and confusion, something that thought establishes when it is present. When we free up this space, this disorder, this mess disappears.

We have no internal space, no psychological space. We are always occupied with something internally: the presence of a memory, a recollection, an image, something that comes from the past, creating states here, establishing states here, present in us. So, internally, within ourselves, psychologically, the mind is always occupied - occupied with the past. Our internal occupation is with the future or with the past, but it is an imaginary occupation. There is no past here, no future here, but thought is here, telling us about a future, telling us about a past.

We need to discover life as it happens, and as it happens there is no interpretation to be done by thought, which is what we usually do, and we do this all the time. We are always projecting onto life the ideas we bring, the thoughts we have, exactly these internal occupations in which we are involved all the time. Something happened to you yesterday and it is coming back here, at this moment.

Why is it that an experience we had yesterday is coming back here, at this moment? First, before all else, how does it come back? It comes back as a memory, it comes back as a recollection, like those images; and notice that all these memories that come back, come back because they are not complete. If I upset you yesterday, you will remember that today. If I made you happy yesterday, you will remember that today. I created a provocation: either I upset you or I made you happy.

And why is this memory here, coming back? Because this memory has taken on a great importance for "me." What is the truth of this "me"? What is the truth of this "I"? Why does it value memory? Why does it value remembrance? Why is all this value present, which is the value we have given to thought? The answer is that this "me," this "I," lives on thoughts.

The person you are, the person you believe you are, the person you feel you are, cannot live without memories, cannot live without remembrances. We are constantly in this movement of continuity of the story that was, which is memory, and we do this when we hold on to thoughts. And these thoughts are coming back and repeating themselves because that experience we went through was not completed. This sense of "I" still wants the continuity of that, still seeks the continuity of that, because it survives in this way.

Note the implications of what we are putting here for you. If you retain images of pleasure, you also retain images of pain. This "you" is this present movement of inattention. We do not know what it is like to deal with this moment, allowing this moment to be completed; we do not know it because, in general, we are inattentive, always placing the sense of an experiencer within this moment to experience this experience. And this experiencer records this experience, keeps this experience to continue living in the past, living in these experiences, living from these experiences - this is the story of the "I," of the ego, it is the story of this person.

The cultivation of this quality of psychic life, of psychological life, which is the quality of memory present in us, I have called psychological memory: it is the memory that gives continuity to the "I," that gives continuity to the ego. Thus, we are preserving the continuity of the past and projecting it into the future. All this internal movement present in us of consciousness is a conflicting movement, creating and generating conflicts, problems, confusion and suffering, because we are established in the illusion of an identity that sees itself as the center of its experiences, which are experiences of memories, which are experiences of the past.

We live internal states that we do not know how to deal with, such as, for example, when someone offends me, and I cannot free myself from this pain, this discomfort, this unease, this suffering; I cannot do so because I am constantly in this model of inattention, cultivating memory, cultivating the past. When someone compliments me, I feel happy with him or her and I keep this compliment, so he or she is now my friend.

"I love those who accept me, praise me, applaud me, agree with me, and I reject, detest, hate and separate myself from those who do not accept me, reject me, do not like me." This sense of "I," of the ego, the presence of someone - of this someone that I am - lives within this pattern of behavior. This is present because of the presence of the past. The past is person's life.

What is this encounter with the Truth of this instant? It is an encounter with a moment where there is such complete Attention to everything that happens that, in that instant, we do not register it; and when there is no registration, there is no strengthening of this center, there is no memory record for this ego, for this "me" to maintain any continuity, because in this Attention the "I" is not there; since there is no sense of "I," since there is no inattention, there is no record, this does not perpetuate, it does not give continuity to the past.

This contact with life at this moment requires an encounter with the end of the experiencer, of the thinker, with the end of this ego, with the end of this "I." This way of approaching this moment requires Attention. This Attention opens up this vision of comprehending this entire movement, which is the movement of the continuity of the "I." Truth revealing itself here as it is, is the presence of Meditation. Once this Attention is present, we have the Truth of Self-awareness; this is when this space arises. It is the space that makes possible a vision of this moment without record.

Can we live this life without the illusion of this "I," without this element that comes from the past? Can we live our lives, at this moment, free from the past, free from memory, free from this praise I received, free from this criticism I received, free from this idea of ??friend and enemy? What does life mean here and now, without the "I," without the ego? This requires learning about Self-awareness, this requires discarding this ego identity.

Contact with this instant, when we pay attention to whatever is happening here, in this attention we eliminate this separation, which is the sense of someone being an experiencer. There is the experience, but since there isn't this someone, this experiencer, the truth of this encounter with the moment is an encounter with the experiencing. In this experiencing, since this attention is present, this situation is complete, so there is no record, there is no sense of this "I" wanting more of that, wanting the continuity of that experience, whether of pain or pleasure. This is the contact with life in this instant, in this state free from the ego; this is the presence of Meditation.

Meditation is the awareness of the Truth of the instant, of the moment, without the thinker, without the experiencer, without the observer. Thus, the observer is the observed thing itself, there is no separation, so there is no such observer, no such experiencer. When that which is present is the only Reality, because there is no division, no separation, no difference between the observer and the observed thing, the Reality of the moment reveals the awareness of this Being.

Thus, Meditation is not about crossing legs, breathing in a certain way and chanting a mantra, or trying to push your thoughts away. The Truth of Meditation is the approach to this moment free from the past, it is the approach to this moment free from this "I," this experiencer, this meditator. Life is something present in this instant, no interpretation, no evaluation, comparison, judgment, acceptance or rejection is necessary. It is exactly when the sense of "I" arises, in this inattention, that this record happens, this memory remains and we thus have this continuity of the ego.

An encounter with life in this moment is the Revelation that Life is the only Reality present. If this sense of separation is not there, if this sense of "I" is not there, then Something is present. This Something is indescribable, it is unnameable, it is of great beauty. It is the presence of Real Bliss, the Truth of this Being, when there is Real Meditation present.

Can we attend to life as it is? This attending to life cannot come from someone, it is Life attending to Itself, it is Life aware of Itself. So, the Reality of this Being, the Reality of That which is You in your True Nature, is the Truth of God, which reveals itself when there is Real Meditation. This is a playlist here on the channel. There are two playlists that I want to recommend to you: "Learning about Self-awareness" and "Real Meditation in practice." Real Meditation is Meditation in practice. There is nothing more important in life than the awareness of this Being, which is the awareness of God, which is the Truth about Life.

A life free from the ego, a life free from the past is a life free to respond to this moment through this Intelligence, which is Divine Intelligence, which is the Presence of Wisdom, which is the Presence of Truth. When Love is present, everything is present: Intelligence, Truth, Beauty, Freedom, Bliss. All of this is the Nature of your Being, all of this is the Nature of God, all of this is the Truth of Love.

Here, in these meetings, we are delving deeper into this with you. We have the opportunity, together, to investigate this in online meetings on the weekends. We have two days together, Saturday and Sunday, to work on this. You can find our WhatsApp link for these online meetings on the weekends here in the video description. In addition to these meetings, we also have in-person meetings and retreats. If what you just heard makes any sense to you, here's an invitation. Give your "like," subscribe to the channel and leave a comment saying, "Yes, that makes sense." Okay? See you soon. Thanks for the meeting and see you next time!
