What is thought? Self-observation. Our self-image. The sense of duality. Dualistic mind.

Here with you we are investigating how to free ourselves from this sense of "I," from this egoic sense. This is a liberation from this whole structure, which is the psychological structure of the world. This psychological structure of the human mind, of mental conditioning; this is the psychological structure of society, of the values ??of the world. Unless there is this liberation, this release, the end of this condition, we will continue to be stuck in this old model of this sense of "I."

First, before all, what is this "I"? In the ancient theaters, that mask was worn by the actors, they called it persona. Persona is a Latin word for person. So, the person that we are is actually this character. This personality in you is not the Reality of your Being, it is the truth about you as a person, like a mask. So, over time the word persona has taken the place of the person.

The person is the persona. The Reality of this Being is not this persona, it is not this person. This person, this persona is the "I," this "me," this "ego." When we are proud of the person we are, our pride is the pride that thought sustains over the image it makes of itself - this is pride. We are faced with something that is illusory, that is based only on imagination, on a movement of image constructed by thought.

Unless we free ourselves from this psychological condition of the person, from this "I," from this self-image, we will never know the Truth of God, the Truth of this Being. There is no real separation between that which is Truth, Reality and this Being. Thus, there is the truth of the person, the truth of the person's life, of this character, of this mask, and there is the Reality of Divine Life. Discovering the awareness of your Being is coming face to face with the Reality of God.

Every response we have to life based on the person we are, show ourselves to be, seem to be, who we actually express by being here, at this moment, the truth about this is contradiction, conflict, disorder. We are violent, aggressive, possessive, domineering, ambitious creatures. We live within a model of separation, of duality. The sense of duality is present in this dualistic mind.

The mind in duality is the mind that has created separation between this thinker and thought, between this experiencer and experiences, between the one who sees and what one sees, that is the observer and the thing observed, in this dualistic mind, in this mind in duality, which is the person. Life is not dual. There is nothing that can be separate from Life. Since Life is the only Reality, everything in it is itself. There is no such thing as "I" and "not I," this "I" and the other, this "I" and Life.

This "I" is a false center, it is a construct of thought. Thought has built this on the basis of memory. Notice how important this is to be understood here, because this involves the question of thought, the truth about thought, the question of what thought is. Notice how important it is to understand this.

When you have experiences, these experiences are stored in the brain, registered in the brain as memories. When you go through experiences, you have memories of them, remembrances, recollections about them. These recollections, remembrances, are images established in the brain about what happened. Here lies the presence of thought. So, what is thought? Thoughts are these memories, these recollections.

When I meet you, I remember your name and also your face. The next time I meet you, I can recognize you; this recognition is a recognition of memory. Only the brain is in this recognition because of this process of bringing back remembrance. So, thought is basically this: it is just memory, it is remembrance.

We do not know how to deal with thought in a real way, because thought does not remain only at this level. It goes to another base, to another line, to another level, which is the level of psychological support of an entity present in this memory. This entity in the memory is an imagination of thought. And who is the person who is remembering? There is no person remembering, there is only memory. But thought created a person, created this "I," this me: this is our self-image.

We need to understand this issue of self-image, because this self-image is a fictitious element, created by thought; and all that thought does from this self-image is to give an ever greater formation to this self-image, accumulating it with greater experiences, knowledge and memories. This self-image is the presence of the experiencer; it is the presence of the thinker; this is the element in the mind that is present sustaining this separation. This element is the "I."

The way you deal with experiences from this "I" is a way in which this "I" is the most important element at that moment. Thus, there is this self-centeredness. Since there is this separation, in this separation, contradiction, violence, fear, aggression, this suffering of anxiety, this suffering of anguish, this desire to possess, this desire to free oneself are established. All of this is present with the presence of this "I."

This is a typical behavior in this egocentrism, in this sense of person - this is the person. However, this person is not real, he assumes this truth of being from this self-image. We are not dealing with Reality, we are dealing with imagination, with fantasy, with the movement of a mask, of a character that is at the center of the moment, at the center of the experience, at the center of this feeling, this thinking, this acting, this acting in life. This is the structure of the "I," the structure of the "ego."

Can we break with this? Put an end to this continuity of imaginary life? Because this is character's life, this is person's life. My contact with you is like your contact with me: a contact between images. The way I represent life around me, I represent life based on the symbols I have, on memories, remembrances, recollections that I have within me, in this "I." I am not in contact with life, I am in contact with the idea about life, I am in contact with thought about life. So, there is a separation between life as it is happening and the representation I have of it based on the thought that I have, which is within me. This thought is the present past. There is the instant and it is present, in this moment, the past.

My contact with people is contact with abstractions. Our relations in life are illusory relations, they are relations of mental abstractions, they are relations in this dualistic mind, in this egoic mind. The Truth of Bliss is unknown, the Truth of Love is unknown, the Truth of Peace is unknown. Looking at the world, we realize that there is no such thing in human relations. This is because these human relations are mental relations, they are relations between people, they are relations in thought.

Thought is the element that has taken over life, the life of the "I," the life of this egoic entity, which lives in isolation, which, in its self-defense, has built this self-image and does everything to achieve greater growth, greater expansion for this self-image, pure egocentrism. This is how we have situated ourselves in life: There is life as it is and there is the idea of ??life as it needs to be for me.

Thus, divisions between people, confusion within relations, psychological suffering present in this "I," is something typical of this social psychological consciousness, this psychological consciousness of the world. Looking at all this, becoming aware of everything that happens psychologically and breaking free from this psychological model of existing, of being, of situating oneself in life as someone, as a person, this is our purpose.

We need a new consciousness. The consciousness we have, the consciousness we know, is this consciousness of this egoic mind, this separatist mind, this mind, which is the mind of the "I." When we learn to look at this, when we learn what it means to bring a new look to this entire process, which is the process of thought, which has given form to all of this, we can then, in that instant, free ourselves from thinking. Then, this thought ceases, this quality of thought ceases to sustain its continuity, when we learn about ourselves, when we discover what it means to know oneself, what it means to observe oneself, to perceive oneself, to observe ourselves.

Yes, the basis for this Attention to this entire movement of thought, which allows this thought to dissolve, which allows this thought to lose its importance, its value and disappear, consists of self-observation. We do not know what it means to look at ourselves, what it means to become aware of our reactions, aware of a thought here, a feeling here, a sensation, an emotion. To bring awareness to this is to observe oneself. So, this psychological content undergoes a change.

The truth is that all this content is completely emptied of its importance, of its self-worth, when we place Attention on the reactions of the "I," of the thinker, of the experiencer, of this element that looks and observes from the past. Learning to look, to observe oneself, is to abandon the observer, the thinker, the experiencer, it is to abandon this "I." It is this contact with Self-awareness - we have a playlist here on the channel: "Learning about Self-awareness" - that brings you closer to the Truth of Real Meditation in practice - this is another playlist here on the channel: "The Truth of Meditation."

What is Real Meditation? Meditation in practice. This is how we get closer to the truth of emptying all this psychological content, this is how we free ourselves from this psychological model of consciousness common to all towards something new, this Real Consciousness, this Divine Consciousness. Then you can take a look at the channel, these videos, these two playlists.

So, these meetings that we have here, also online on the weekends - we have two days together, Saturday and Sunday -, we are delving deeper into these issues. Here is our WhatsApp link to participate in these online meetings. In addition to these meetings, we have in-person meetings and also retreats.
