How to be happy? | The Awakening of Consciousness | Advaita Vedanta | Non-Duality | Vedanta

Hello guys! Welcome to another meeting here on our channel.

The question is: how to be happy? Happiness is the Nature of Consciousness; it is the Nature of Being. The fact is that this is not for the “person.” Yes, that’s right! This is not for the “person.” Happiness is for You, but not for the “person” you believe to be.

What you have of yourself here and now is an idea, a concept, a belief – this is what you believe is you. Here, I mean You, not what you believe is you. Our work here is to acknowledge the Truth we are.

Acknowledging the Truth we are, requires understanding the illusion we believe we are. So, the walk, the journey, towards Real Happiness requires the understanding of this illusion, the illusion of the ego, of “me,” of the “I,” of this “you.”

We don’t deal with What is You because What is You, transcends any language, any expression, and any speech. Here, we investigate what’s not you. The investigation of what is not you, which is what you believe to be… the discarding of that, is the Revelation of your Being.

Notice that this may sound like a word game… it’s not a word game! We are here investigating a fact. Yes, it’s the psychological fact that what you think about who you are is just a belief you have.

Notice that people around you, each of them, have similar beliefs about themselves as well, but you have a very particular belief of another person and they have a particular belief of you. You have an image of who you are and they have an image of who you are, just as they have an image of who they are.

See, this is a psychological fact; that’s not the Truth that is You.

The idea you have about yourself, like the idea the other person has about who they are and who you are, is completely false.

To come across Happiness… There is a very common question: “How to find Happiness?” Happiness can be realized, but it will not be found. You find something you already know and are looking for – because you know what it is. Here, you are looking for what you don't know. You don’t know what Happiness is, and here you cannot find what you don’t know.

Notice how subtle this is. What people call “happiness,” what they are looking for, is a breath, it’s a relaxation, certain tranquility for the confused, chaotic, disordered, anxious, boring state their life has become. So, they have a project, an idea, and a belief in what Happiness is.

What they are looking for is relief from this psychological condition of frames, yes, of unhappiness.

It is curious to say that… Human beings know unhappiness, but they can’t know Happiness. Happiness is what is beyond the known, while unhappiness is present in the known, something of your ordinary experience, of your daily experience, of your common experience – frames of unhappiness – while Happiness is not a breath, it’s not rest, relaxation, it’s not that temporary peace that takes place when some goal is achieved; when you are stressed and suddenly there’s relaxation; when you're anxious and suddenly there’s a peace coming after that frame. It’s not that!

Happiness is the Nature of Consciousness, and this Consciousness is Nameless, Indescribable, and Unknown. You need to understand this here.

Our job is to discard the illusion. The discarding of illusion reveals the Truth, and when the Truth reveals itself, the Indescribable appears, and the Indescribable remains the Indescribable.

What I mean is that it’s possible to experience Happiness, but not describe Happiness.

Spiritual Enlightenment… not what some people live, experience, and then post about. I mean True Spiritual Enlightenment, True Spiritual Awakening, the True Awakening of Consciousness, True Kundalini Awakening – This is Indescribable, this is Nameless!

We use expressions to nominate, but This is outside all naming. As for the frames of unhappiness, we know; this is part of the known, this is part of this model of ego identity. This ego identity… We know what it represents. We don’t know what Sat-Chit-Ananda represents – this is the Sages’ expression of your Natural State, Which truly You are.

So, in Vedanta, in Vedas, the expression Being, Consciousness and Happiness portrays the Indescribable, which is the Nature of each one of us. Just as the eye doesn’t see itself – the eye doesn’t see itself. It sees everything, but it doesn’t see itself – this State of Consciousness, of Enlightenment, of Wisdom, doesn’t describe itself, it is Indescribable! You can live This, but not describe This; you can live This, but you will keep on, intellectually, without being able to put This into words, because This is beyond the intellect, beyond speech, beyond the mind.

So, how to achieve Happiness? Realizing What You are, discarding what is not you. The expression in Vedas, in Vedanta, especially in the last part of Vedas – and we have been dealing with that here… the expression is “Advaita.” This is there, in Vedas, in Advaita Vedanta: the Non-Dual State of Being, Non-Duality is Happiness.

So, Happiness is not found in objects, it is not found in experiences, ideas, psychological achievements, material achievements, or ideological achievements... All this is part of what happens in time, for the body and the mind, not for this Consciousness, which is Happiness.

Our job here is to show you that this Spiritual Enlightenment is synonymous with Happiness, but both Enlightenment and Happiness are Indescribable, it is something outside the mind, outside the experience of the ego; it is something experiential in the experiencing, but an experiencer doesn’t remain. The experiencer is the ego – the one who can describe, explain, feel, and can put their feelings into words… This is the ego; Experiencing is possible, because it is Consciousness on Its own, in Itself. The Realization of This is the purpose of life.

You were born to Happiness; you were born to Realize Happiness, to become aware of the Presence of your Being, which is Happiness. This is not finding Happiness; This is Acknowledging the Reality of the Happiness of your Being here and now. This is not within the known. This is outside the known.

Contact with Meditation here and now is contact with What is outside this time and space – something constructed by the mind. The contact with this Consciousness here and now is the contact with Reality, which goes beyond body, mind, and world. This is Consciousness! In India, they call samadhi this State of Consciousness free from psychological time, free from this ego-identity.

So, approaching yourself through Self-awareness and Meditation… Meditation is to observe this movement of thought here and now, of feeling here and now. Every thought, feeling, emotion, sensation, and perception. Just observe… You are not going to judge, compare, evaluate, analyze, reject, agree or disagree with thoughts, feelings, and experiences, you are just going to acknowledge them.

This “acknowledging” can put you in direct contact... if it’s done in a real way, if you don't put a present identity to do this, which is to judge, compare, reject, analyze, etc., if it’s done correctly, this puts you in direct contact with Consciousness, which by nature is free from this separateness created by the egoic mind. This Consciousness is free from this duality between the thinker and the thought, the feeling and the one who feels. This Consciousness is free from it! This Consciousness...

Contact with this Silence, this Presence, is possible when the brain is still, when there is this psychological, internal stillness. In this stillness, Meditation is revealed. This Meditation reveals this Consciousness beyond the body, the mind, the world, beyond time and space, beyond this background of psychological conditioning, and, naturally, beyond all these known frames of psychological complexity, of psychological unhappiness, which is the condition of the ego living in its egocentrism, living in desires, fears, pursuits, ambitions, envy, jealousy; living in its illusion.

Then, the discarding of illusion takes place, and in that discarding of illusion, What has no name arises, and the Experience of this Reality arises. This is how Happiness is realized. So, for the question “how to find happiness?” ... We reformulate, change this question and ask: how to acknowledge Happiness? Because it is something here and now, in What is You as Consciousness. Ok?

If that makes sense to you… That’s the purpose of this channel and that’s what we work on in these meetings. Leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel... Reminding you: we have online meetings and face-to-face meetings.

If this makes sense to you, let’s work it out together! OK?

Thanks for the meeting and until next time.
