Psychic suffering. What is thought? How to deal with anxiety and depression? What is thinking?

“Are you telling us that it's possible to break with these internal states of suffering, confusion and mental disorder that we know?” Yes, exactly that. It is possible, in this life, to be free from this well-known life, as human beings generally know it; a life where conflict, confusion and struggle are present, established as the norm, the rule, the human standard.

It is this condition of struggle, confusion and conflict that establishes internal states in us, states of suffering. Note, it's a matter of a vicious circle. This external confusion, this external disorder, this external conflict translates within each of us as internal complications, afflictions and suffering. This external suffering is nothing other than a representation of this internal movement of disorder, confusion and internal conflict. So it's a vicious circle.

What you are psychologically expresses itself externally. There is no separation between the external world and this internal world. Confusion in the family is confusion in the neighborhood, confusion in the city, confusion in the nation, confusion between nations. The internal conflict is the external conflict.

If there's conflict within you, your conflict isn't just with yourself, it's a conflict with your wife, with your husband, with your children, with the family. Just as, when you are light, joyful and happy, this lightness, joy and happiness is shared with everyone around you, in the same way you share these internal states of disorder, conflict and suffering with the world. There is no separation between you and those around you.

This separation is an idea, it's just a concept, a way of speaking, which in this form doesn't represent any truth at all. You are what life around you is, what the world is. If there is conflict in the world, there is conflict in you. If there is conflict in you, there is conflict in the world. Then, we're living like this.

So, our pattern of behavior, from a physical viewpoint and also from a psychological viewpoint, is exactly the same. Unless you resolve this internal issue, no external issue will be resolved. Then, here we are again: yes, life without suffering is possible.

We can't change the world and neither does the world need to change, since you, as we've just said, are the world itself. The only element present in the disorder, confusion and suffering in the world is, in fact, you.

“How to deal with anxiety and depression?” Notice the questions we ask. We want to learn how to deal with anxiety and depression. Note, you don't need to know how to deal with anxiety and depression, you need to discover the truth of how you function.

As long as there is no comprehension of how you function, there will be anxiety and depression in the world, there will be anxiety and depression in you. It's not about putting some level of order over internal states of psychological suffering or applying some skill to deal with it. This is about eliminating that model.

The great truth about all this is that we are psychologically adjusted to this model, adjusted to this model of ignorance about who we are. Not comprehending how we function is ignorance of who we are.

We don't know how to deal with thought. So, here is a question that is also very relevant, of great importance to each of us. “How to deal with thought?” Another question is: “What is thought? What is thinking?” That's because, note one thing here, everything starts from this way of thinking, this pattern of thinking and not being aware of how it works.

So, not knowing how to deal with it, not comprehending it, not having an approach to thinking, all this is part of this form of psychological adjustment that we've been sustaining in life for millennia. Here, we are with you investigating the end to this psychological condition, to this psychic conditioning. The end of this psychological conditioning or psychological adjustment of human culture, of the pattern of social education, of humanity that we bring, the end to this is the end to psychic suffering.

So, by nature, by truth of it, the end of this psychic suffering is the end of conflict, confusion and disorder within ourselves and, therefore, in the world. How can we meet the end of problems in the world? By resolving this issue of the end of the problem in you, because the problem in you is the problem in the world.

Your contact with the family is based on what you are or what you represent in this context. But what is the truth about you? If the suffering person is present there, the anxious person is present, the depressed person, the fearful person, the unhappy person, if that's what we have present here, what we have in the world is exactly that.

Here, with you, we are discovering how to break with psychic suffering, with this psychological conditioning, with this ignorance of the Truth about ourselves. And therefore breaking with this illusion of someone being present. This someone is the meaning of being a person. That's what we're investigating with you.

There is no such thing as someone, as a person. It's the presence of this person, the presence of this someone, the presence of these states. The presence of this someone, the presence of that someone, the presence of these states is the presence of a conditioning that has been in humanity for millennia and now presents itself here. You are not something or someone separate from all this, as we've just said. You, as a person, as someone, are an integral part of this model of conditioning.

Our challenge here is to realize the Reality of That Which Is You in Your Being for the Real Revelation of the true human being. Just as Real Consciousness is not known to us. We live in this so-called human being common to all, human creature common to all, human consciousness common to all.

What is the Truth of this Real Consciousness? What is the Truth of this Divine Nature, which is the nature of your Being? Working in this direction, investigating and looking within a closeness like this, is what we are doing together. Because it is in this closeness that What is beyond the person Reveals itself.

“So, wait, are you really telling us that a quality of life different from everything we've known for millennia is possible? Since what we've known in life for millennia is conflict, confusion and disorder?” I keep saying: yes! This requires the end of the “I,” the end of the ego, the end of this psychological condition, I'll say it again, of adjusting to this current model, to this egocentric pattern of existence of being someone, of being a person.

That's what we're working on here with you. We are talking to you about Spiritual Awakening, Spiritual Enlightenment, the Awareness of the Divine Truth, the Blossoming of your nature, which is the Nature of God. The truth of God is the Truth of That which is outside the mind, outside the known, Something outside beliefs, Something outside dogmas, rituals, ceremonies, these so-called spiritual practices. It is the simple awareness of Non-separation, of Non-duality.

If there is no separation, if there is no duality, there is no conflict, no confusion, no disorder. If this is present, there is no more anxiety, depression or any form of fear. None of this is present anymore, since all of this requires the presence of separation between the one who feels and the one who is feeling, between the thinker and thought, between the one who experiences and the experience.

Notice that all of this is private. We haven't been taught to make direct contact with what is here, without putting in that element that comes from the past, which is that someone, that “I,” that person. This “I,” this person, this someone is this format of human conditioning. We weren't taught to get in touch with life without this element.

And here we are exploring this with you. This requires the presence of studying ourselves, discovering how to look at your reactions, becoming aware of this adjustment, this conditioning, this psychological way in which we have been brought up to live, discovering what it is to look at this; it is in this sense that we use the expression Self-Awareness here.

When we have the real basis, which is the Truth, the revelation of this Self-Awareness, the importance of this, when we have this true basis, we have the importance of Self-Awareness. And when there is this Self-Awareness, the illusion of this “I,” this “me,” this ego, this someone, this person, is revealed, and it ends. And when it ends, there are no more problems, no more confusion, no more suffering, no more fear. We need real contact with life, without the sense of someone else involved in it. No other solution is a real solution, they are stopgaps.

Any form of help that you can get, that you can obtain to alleviate, to reduce the issue of pain, the issue of suffering, the issue of confusion, of disorder, anything that helps you to reduce, to alleviate that, doesn't solve it, only an approach to Meditation, to True Meditation, as we are working with you here, does it. Not what some people call meditation, but the true approach to Meditation, which requires the real basis of studying ourselves, in this comprehension of how we function, how thought works.

So, we are investigating this with you: what is thinking? What is thought? How to deal with thoughts? The vision of the Truth about you reveals to you the end to this internal state, where there is this illusion of separation between you and life, between you and the other, between you and God. You, in your Real Nature, no longer carry this adjustment, this conditioning format.

Here, on Saturdays and Sundays, we are together, exploring this subject with you. It's two days together. You have our WhatsApp link here, in the video description, so that you can get to know this work up close and personal, so that you can work on it in this lifetime. Thus, Saturday and Sunday we're together.

We also have face-to-face meetings and retreats. If what you've just heard makes sense to you, here's an invitation. Go ahead, leave a “like,” subscribe to the channel and say in the comments: “Yes, that makes sense,” OK? And we'll see you. Thanks for meeting us and see you next time!

Joel Goldsmith | Living by the word | How to overcome fears and doubts? | Master Gualberto

GC: Hello, everyone! We are here for another videocast. Once again, Master Gualberto is here with us. Thank you, Master, for being here.

Today, I am going to read an excerpt from Joel Goldsmith's book called “Living by the Word. In an excerpt from this book, Master, Joel Goldsmith says the following: “Every time we are touched by doubt, fear, limitation or a sensation of discouragement, let us recognize that what is operating in our consciousness at that particular moment is a sense of separation from God.”

In this excerpt, Joel Goldsmith talks about fear, about doubt...can the Master share his vision of how to overcome fears and doubts?

MG: Gilson, here, we come across one of the most important issues among all the other issues: it is this issue of fear. Once this is clear, once this is clarified for us, it becomes very simple and straightforward to learn how to deal with any other issue of this order. First, before anything else, what is fear? How does it happen? Notice something interesting that is present here: at this moment, there is no fear, but as soon as a thought arises about something that I do not want to experience or that I need to get rid of, it scares me, it causes fear. So, there is a very close, very intimate relationship between the presence of fear in each one of us and the presence of thought.

Fears are innumerable. We have countless forms of fear. Human beings are afraid of the past, afraid of the future, afraid of their wife, afraid of their boss, afraid of getting sick, afraid of getting old, afraid of becoming poor, afraid of not getting rich... There are many fears! There are many forms of fear that we know, but none of these fears are dissociated from thought. It is something always linked to a memory, to a remembrance, to a thought that tells us something from the past that we do not want to experience again in the future. It is a thought that speaks of a future that we do not want to experience, based on the past that we have already experienced.

So, notice: there is experience, the experiencer, memory, the past and thought. All of this is part of this present movement, which is the movement of fear. “How to break out of this?” The question here is: who is this element present in fear? It is very clear that this element present is the experiencer, the one who reserved the experience. It is clear that the element present in fear is the thinker, the one who, in our belief, is the one who produces thought. Let’s investigate this.

See, these are subjects that require a very direct approach, because the answer to this question of fear is the answer to the question of anxiety, to the question of jealousy – which is insecurity – which is also fear, of anxiety, which is also fear, of worry, which is also fear, of the various forms of phobia. Notice that there is a connection in all of these states, there is a connection between them, and they all end in fear or begin in fear, and this is suffering, this is a problem. Where does all of this take place? In this element here, which sees itself separate from life, separate from this moment, because in this moment there is no fear.

And when you ask how to overcome, in addition to fear, doubt, notice that we are dealing with different forms of the same thing. And what is this thing? Basically, thought. There is no fear without thought, there is no doubt without thought. It is essential, Gilson, for each one of us to have a direct understanding of how we function and it will become clear, we will clearly perceive this, that every movement in us is only the movement of thought itself. It is thought that is producing all of this, based on its entire old and ancient structure of memory, recognition, and remembrances.

There is no possibility of doubt, belief, fear or desire without thought. Note, all of this is part of the model of thought, and this has been our psychological structure of existence.

As human beings, we are living in thought, and life in thought is life within a pattern of separation, where there is this “I,” which is the thinker, the experiencer, and life here. So, there is life present here, in this moment, and we have the idea of someone present in life, separate from it, who is the “I,” the thinker, the experiencer. The main element in this thinker, in this experiencer, is thought.

So, how to overcome fear? By becoming aware of the truth of the “I.” And what is the truth of the “I”? What is the truth about the “I”? We are faced with a learned model of existence. The sensation, perception, feeling of existence separate from life is the truth of the “I.” As long as this element is present and this illusory structure is maintained – I mean this illusory structure of separation, where you, as a person, are seeing yourself as this, separate and apart from life – as long as this illusion is maintained, the illusion of the person, the illusion of separation, the maintenance of this way of thinking, how we have been functioning, as long as this is maintained, fear will be present.

Can we break out of this? In other words, can we break with the “I”? This is the end, of course, of the illusion that you are here, separate from life. An important point to be addressed here, too: that which is Life is not what thought has about life. Because we also have the idea of life, which is the thought we have about what life is, about what life represents, but who is this element having the idea about this, if not the “I” itself?

Here, when we speak of Life, we are referring to this Reality that is present, that carries this Mystery, that is unknown, that is unpredictable. See, in It there is no future, past or present. I refer to Life, because this future, past and present occur inside our heads, as a movement of thought itself, when this “I” is present. So, this element called “time” is not in life, it is a production of thought. So, elimination of fear is elimination of thought, which is, naturally, elimination of time.

If you do not have time tomorrow to experience something painful that you do not want to suffer, if there is no tomorrow to experience something – I will make it clear here for you – if there is no tomorrow, no future, for you to experience something that you do not want to happen again, there is no future and there is no past. With the annulment of the future and the past, there is the annulment of time. And what is time? See, fear… it is clear that it is something linked to thought. When there is thought, fear is present; when there is no thought, there is no fear.

But what about the issue of time? Note that, just as fear requires the presence of thought, time requires the presence of thought. You cannot tell me anything about the past without thought. So, where is the past? And you cannot tell me about any fear that will happen tomorrow without thought. We nullify the past and we nullify tomorrow, which is the future, when we eliminate thought. So, when you come and ask me “how to overcome fear?” ... Eliminate the illusion of thought right now. Do not touch thought.

I am referring to this psychological thought, which is the thought that sustains time, that sustains the psychological tomorrow and the psychological past. See how important all of this is, Gilson, because the life of the human being, in this sense of the “I,” the ego, this “me,” this person, consists of past experiences. Here, I am not referring to remembrances of historical events, I am referring to psychological remembrances of experiences. And what is the difference? You can remember something that happened to you in childhood, but that is just a simple memory. But if, when you remember something that happened to you in childhood, it still makes you cry and suffer, at that moment we are faced with a psychological memory that is giving identity to the sense of “I,” of the ego, of this “me.” And life of the human being, Gilson, in this sense of the “I,” of the ego, is full of this quality of psychological memory.

So, we are working together here to end this psychological condition of being someone, and we attain this when we eliminate time, this psychological time and this psychological thought. This is the end of fear, but it is also the end of anxiety, it is the end of anguish, it is the end of all the images that produce internal states of unhappiness, such as the pain of loneliness, such as depression, and all these different psychological conditions that we know within this movement, which is the movement of thought, where the “I” is present. This is the truth of the “I”: the illusion of this sense of someone present in this whole notion of time. Thus, we say: “I was,” “I am” and “I will be” based on memory, on remembrances, on images, in these representations of images that come from the past.

To break with this psychological condition is to understand the Truth of Life in this instant, where the Reality of your Being is present. This is not part of what is known, this is not part of the “I,” this is not part of what thought can imagine, idealize, project, draw conclusions about. It is something outside of what is known. To access this Reality is to assume this Reality, and if this Reality, which is the Unknown, assumes this body and this mind, we face this Realization. And this Realization is the end of time, it is the end of thought, it is the end of the “I.”

A direct work in this direction is possible when we approach this study of ourselves. What nullifies this time is this psychological death of the egoic sense. That is why nothing compares to the end of the “I.” Dying to each experience, to each thought, to each feeling, sensation or perception that arises in this instant. This, immediately, dies when we place Attention on what is here and now. There is an experiencing and a finalization for all of this. So, the Awareness of your Being is the Realization of God.

A close approach to all this movement of the mind… When the mind becomes aware of its own movement, it becomes still and something new emerges, something beyond the known, beyond time, beyond thought, beyond this mind as we know it. This is the end of fear, it is the end of doubt, but it is also the end of belief; it is the end of fear and it is the end of courage; it is the end of belief and disbelief; it is the end of these aspects of duality in this psychological model of existence of the “I.”

GC: Master, we have a question here from a subscriber on the channel. She makes the following comment and asks: “Good morning, dear Master. I would like to ask a question: at the end of the video, you said about the mind becoming aware of the movement of its own mind. But is that possible? Can the mind perceive itself as if the hand could hold its own hand and the eyes could see their own eyes? Wouldn’t it be Divine Consciousness that perceives the movement of the mind? Our True Self that is there observing the mental movement? I had this question, Master. I await your answer. The videos are getting better and better. We are together.”

MG: Well, look at your question: you said you were in doubt when we say, and we have just put it again here. All this approach that we need to have to the truth about what is happening to us is based on what is here at this moment. And what is here at this moment? It is this form of consciousness, which is the consciousness of the “I.” Then, the mind becomes aware of itself; it is when it becomes quiet and something reveals itself.

When you use the expression of this “True Self” observing consciousness... See, completely abandon idea, thought, belief, because this is still part of a projection of the egoic mind itself. I refer to the idea of this “True Self” observing the mind. See, this is nothing more than another thought. People talk a lot, Gilson, about this “True Self,” but this is an idea. We need to eliminate all ideas, all beliefs, all concepts. Here, it is a question of becoming aware of your reactions at this moment. What there is, is this awareness of yourself, that’s all!

So, when the mind becomes aware of itself, it becomes quiet. Once it is aware of its own internal movement happening, the mind becomes quiet and something new emerges. So, the work is to become aware of what we are in this moment, not of some idea like a “Higher Self” to become aware of it. It is the truth of this awareness of oneself in this moment. Being aware of oneself is the mind becoming quiet, finding the very own silence. This is possible when it becomes quiet, and it becomes quiet when it observes itself. This self-observation is the awareness of the movement of the mind itself.

This awareness of the movement of the mind quiets the mind. So, yes, something new emerges, but this new something, we have to be careful not to give it a name, because we are not dealing with something within the mind, but something that arises precisely when the mind becomes quiet. The truth is that the mind can naturally become still when it becomes aware of itself. So, there is something present in this silence that is beyond this sense of “I.” It is something that is beyond this mind as we know it.

Giving a name to this Reality is a mistake. We cannot fall into this trap, this illusion, of expecting this “Higher Self” to become aware of this so-called “egoic mind,” because that would be another observer, separate from what it is observing. This other observer is still a game of the egoic mind itself. The Truth of That which is Real, of That which is beyond the known, is present in this moment. So, just become aware of your reactions. And as for terms like “mind” or “consciousness,” don’t get caught up in them, don’t get caught up in these terms, and, in fact, abandon all these terms.

Here, we are dealing with something that is outside of language, outside of words, outside of thought. So, this is our invitation to you. Look, observe, become aware, be conscious of your reactions, that's all! Without this element that separates itself to compare, judge, evaluate, like or dislike, and everything else happens because of this Power of Presence, this mysterious Power of Grace. Okay?

GC: Master, we have another question from a subscriber on the channel. He makes the following comment and asks: “Master, how can I connect with my Higher Self and live in peace and harmony?”

MG: Okay, once again here comes the question of this “Higher Self.” Notice: “How do I connect?” This is where the danger lies, this idea of the “Higher Self” separate from this “me.” That's why we abandon all these terms. We are within a principle of separation, of duality, when we talk about connecting with the “Higher Self.” So, thought imagines the “Higher Self,” but everything that thought imagines is part of it. And all imagination is within the principle of the identity of the “I,” which is the “me,” the ego, this sense of separation that sustains this duality.

And when we talk about finding this harmony, you see, it is the movement of the “I” itself, which is the “me,” the ego, in search of something. We eliminate all of this through Self-awareness, learning what it is to observe, just to observe, without the observer, to look without this element that looks, to be aware without this element seeking any awareness of it. So, we have an approach to Meditation without the meditator, there is the Truth of the Revelation of this Self when the “I” is not there. So, it is not about this contact of this “me,” this “I,” with this “Higher Self,” it is about the annulment of this illusion, this duality, this idea of the “I.”

GC: Thank you, Master, our time has come to an end. Thank you for this videocast.

And for those of you who sincerely yearn to understand these truths, we invite you to join this work with Master Gualberto. In fact, Master Gualberto offers online weekend meetings. There are also in-person meetings, including retreats. So, if you yearn to understand this, come to these meetings. During the meetings, we can ask questions directly to Master Gualberto and much more than that. Since the Master already lives in this Awakened State of Consciousness, he shares a State of Presence, of Silence, of Power, which helps us greatly in this self-investigation, in comprehending what is beyond understanding. So, in the first comment, pinned, there is the WhatsApp link to be able to participate in these meetings.

And, once again, gratitude, Master.

How to attain Wisdom? | Human wisdom | Wisdom in practice | About Self-awareness | Advaita

Here, our emphasis, within these meetings – you know, you who have been following the channel, have been following these talks –, is that you, when you come closer, have a somewhat different approach than most people usually have when they approach someone to listen to others, to hear about a certain subject.

Here, our emphasis is that you look at everything that is being presented here and investigate it, become aware of it, putting your mind and heart into reaching what is being presented. In general, this is not how we do it, because we always enter with a part of ourselves, and not with this Totality: either we go with intellect or we go with emotion.

We have a very particular way of approaching when we intellectualize what we hear or use this emotional sensitivity to be touched by what we hear. Here, a true approach to this subject – not only in this theme that we will work with you here today, at this moment, in this video, in this speech, but in all the speeches here on the channel, all the meetings we have here – it is important that we have an approach where the mind, the heart and our entire being are involved in it, so that we can truly have an approach to this subject.

I want to touch on the importance and beauty of this awareness of a free Life, lived intelligently, where we no longer have the presence of conflict, disorder, confusion and suffering. This requires a new brain, a new mind, a new heart; it requires a vision of Life in Wisdom.

There is a question that some people ask themselves, or some do, but it is so difficult to find an answer, and here I want to investigate, as part of this talk, this question as well. The question is: “How to attain Wisdom?” Because, yes, in the wise Life we do not find complications. Even when a problem arises, we can attend to that problem immediately, to the point that it does not take deep roots within ourselves, creating internal states of suffering. This requires the presence of Wisdom. And there is a way to approach this; this way is in the awareness of learning.

When you were a child, you were taken to school. Then, for the first time, you came across teaching, this classic form of learning. In this common way of learning things, we are put before that task, that teaching, whether it is practical or theoretical. That is the way of learning that we know. So, in a practical way or in a theoretical way, we are exposed to that and we end up learning, and this learning takes time.

Interestingly, it is a quality of learning that we know, we are familiar with, that it seems, no matter how much we know, we still don't know enough. And there is a reason behind this. All the knowledge that we acquire in life, all this so-called knowledge... Some people separate this quality of knowledge that is learned in life to deal with trivial matters in life, from human wisdom. In fact, this idea of human wisdom, you see, is a division that we create between human wisdom and Divine Wisdom.

Here, I want to discuss with you the Truth of Flourishing, of the Awakening of Awareness of Truth. In my view, this is the sense in which we use the expression Wisdom here. It seems to me that this is the most realistic way of dealing with this expression. Here, we are dealing with this awareness of Life. It is natural that this encompasses the Totality of Life, and not a particular condition of life, where there is a certain piece of knowledge that, no matter how much we learn, we will have to continue learning, which is what people call human wisdom.

What is the Truth of the Flourishing of Wisdom? This Wisdom that encompasses this Totality of Life; a free, harmonious, integral, complete and happy Life. This is where we need to approach another way of learning, because only this other way of learning can show us this Truth.

This usual way of learning is by accumulating information, acquiring knowledge and living experiences. This gives us the training and the ability to deal with technical matters in life, but it does not give us the conditions to deal with life, because life does not consist only of technical matters.

You know how to drive a car, you know how to fly a plane, you know how to solve a mathematical problem. You know architecture, engineering. If you are an engineer, you know how to build a bridge or design a building, all this structure for the construction of a large building. But this knowledge is the knowledge that is learned within time. Thus, it is knowledge linked to experience, to this form of learning in which you have to study the theoretical basis. This is how we learn physics, mathematics, chemistry.

So, we are able to deal with these matters, due to this vision, this so-called human intelligence, this ability, capacity to act and learn by acting, to grow in this movement of action, at this level of learning. All of this is very reasonable. But note that this quality of knowledge, of experience, is something that always carries this limitation, there is always something to learn. So, it is a quality of knowledge that has a shadow that accompanies this type of knowledge: experience, which is ignorance. You never know enough, or there is always something to learn.

Here, when we touch on the Truth of Wisdom with you, which is this awareness of Life, we are not talking about fragmented knowledge, like the type of knowledge we discussed a moment ago. We are pointing out, signaling to you a quality of vision of life that goes beyond this vision of knowledge.

Note that you may be an expert, a technician, an engineer, a mathematician, a physicist, a chemist, you may be a scientist, but you do not know how to deal with your own thoughts, your own feelings, your emotions. If news reaches you, it completely changes the internal state you are in at that moment. If it is good news, you become euphoric, enthusiastic, happy, but if it is bad news, you become discontented, sad, depressed.

So, some things make us happy and other things make us sad, some things cheer us up and others discourage us. Situations make us enthusiastic, and others make us depressed. Note how interesting this human psychological structure is in each one of us.

It doesn't matter how much education we have. That man in the countryside who works the land, who was unable to study, is just as vulnerable to psychological states of anxiety, worry, depression, fear, and anguish as the cultured, literate, learned man who has studied a lot, who is a PhD, a scientist.

Our psychological condition is not understood, has not been understood. We do not understand ourselves, we do not study ourselves, so we acquire a particular, specialized vision of life, but we have no awareness of our reactions, of how we function internally, psychologically. We lack the vision of Wisdom. So, the question is: “How to attain Wisdom?” And now it seems to me that it is clear to you: Wisdom is not something that can be attained.

“How to attain wisdom?” You can attain knowledge, you can attain know-how, capacity, skill, specialization, intellectual training, graduation, post-graduation. You can attain all of this, because it is something that is in time, requires knowledge, experience, practice, skill, while the Truth of Wisdom, or the Truth about Wisdom, is that Wisdom is only possible through Self-awareness.

As long as there is no awareness of the Truth about who you are, which implies the understanding of how you function and this mastery of dealing with these reactions, and the basis for this is Self-awareness, until this is not clear, there will be no Wisdom, the Truth of Wisdom. The Truth about Wisdom is that it is the result of understanding ourselves. The foundation on which the awareness of Life, of the Totality of Life, is based, is Self-Knowledge.

Dealing with your husband, dealing with your wife, dealing with your children, dealing with life, dealing with people, dealing with yourself, free from this psychological weight of thought, feeling and reactions, which are always coming from the past to respond to this moment in such a way that the sense of “I,” of the ego, is always involved in it. As long as this is not freed from each one of us, as long as this sense of “I,” of the ego, exists, what is present is ignorance, illusion. This shows us that we do not know the Truth about who we are. This clearly demonstrates the sense of an identity that separates itself from life, that separates itself from the other, that separates itself from God.

Divine Reality is the Truth of this Being, of this Real Being, which is present when the ego is not, when illusion is no longer present. So, this meeting that we are in here together is for the investigation of the nature of the Truth about ourselves. Therefore, it is not about this division that we have intellectually made between human wisdom and Divine Wisdom, or human intelligence and Divine Intelligence.

Real Intelligence is Spiritual Intelligence. In this sense, we have used the expressions Divine Wisdom and Divine Intelligence here. But it is important that we understand that the only Real Intelligence is the Intelligence of God, the only Real Wisdom is the Wisdom of God, and this Divine Wisdom or this Divine Intelligence is the nature of your Being. In this sense, we have the Truth of Wisdom and we have the matter of knowledge.

Knowledge is something that is learned, while Wisdom is something that flourishes, is something that awakens, due to the understanding of the movement of this consciousness, which is the consciousness of the “I,” through Self-awareness. So, what is the Truth about Self-awareness? The Truth about Self-awareness is that, when there is this vision of the Reality of your Being, illusion of this ego-identity is undone, and that is the end of ignorance.

And when ignorance ends, this knowledge of dealing with the issues of life takes its rightful place. The rightful place of this knowledge is for dealing with issues in this dream of existence, and it cannot deal with the Totality of Life. The vision that can deal with the Totality of Life is Wisdom, and the vision of Wisdom is the understanding of Non-separation, of Non-duality, of the Truth that there is Something present and that Something is the awareness of God, and you were born to realize That, you were born for Wisdom. This Wisdom is the vision of Non-separation.

Divine Reality is the Reality of your Being, and that Reality is Advaita. The term Advaita means Non-duality, this is straight from the Vedas. A real vision of Life is the vision of the end of the illusion of separation and therefore it is the end of ignorance. To come closer to yourself is to come closer to this understanding. It is when the Reality of God, Divine Reality, the Wisdom of God reveals itself. This is what we call here on the channel “Awakening of Divine Intelligence” or “Spiritual Intelligence.”

Real Intelligence, True Intelligence is this Intelligence of Being. All of this is within this Spiritual Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment. Here, on Saturdays and Sundays, we are together with you, delving deeper into this subject. These are two-day online meetings, where we are working on this together. You can find our WhatsApp link here in the video description to participate in these meetings.

In addition, we have in-person meetings and also retreats. If what you just heard makes sense to you, here is an invitation. Leave your “like” here, subscribe to the channel and leave here in the comments: “Yes, that makes sense.” Ok? And we'll see you. Thanks for the meeting and see you soon!

Advaita Zen. Attain Enlightenment. What is thought? Anxiety or depression. What is thinking?

Here, we have two extremely important questions to investigate, to get closer to, to have a direct, real view of them. I mean a real, direct view, and not a mere intellectual approach, where we are only involved with words. This is another subject that we have addressed here, with you, presented here, for you. In general, our approach to any subject is initially theoretical, verbal and intellectual. For some specific subjects, we only do that, which means coming closer to a concept, to a theory. And this does not bring about, does not carry out, does not make possible an effective action. All this theoretical approach that we have to some subjects is something that remains only at an intellectual level.

Here, in these meetings, we have emphasized to you the importance of comprehension, of a direct vision of Reality, of what we are dealing with here. Therefore, it is not a matter of staying in theory, in words, in merely intellectual knowledge; we must have a look. But this look implies an action that is happening, then we have the presence of the awareness of comprehension indeed. What is this comprehension, what is this awareness? It is what is present when there is an experiential approach to that matter.

All the topics we address here on the channel require you to discover their validity, their uniqueness, their truth, in practice. We are going to investigate two questions with you here. So, let me just say this: it is important to get closer to this, taking direct action so that real comprehension can occur. The two questions are, first: What is thought? Let's make some statements about this here. It cannot remain only at the theoretical level; this practical approach is needed, which requires looking at it.

So, what is the truth of thought? Here, the first question is: What is thought? What is the truth about it? What is the comprehension of thought? From an early age, we are involved with thought. Our first actions arose based on an impulse, at first merely instinctive, as occurs with animals. The baby seeks out the mother's breast to suckle; it is an instinctive act or action of this very memory of the body, which we call instinctive action. But the baby soon has contact with thought.

So, since we were little, we have been in contact with thought, but we do not know the truth about thought. Because we do not know how it is processed, how it acts and the importance it has assumed in our lives. This is easy to observe, to perceive that all your actions are born from thought. A thought arises and an action happens. And why is this comprehension fundamental? Because our behavior, as well as this model of being that we have, guided by thought, once we do not comprehend what this process is, there comes a disoriented being.

Human beings do not know themselves. They do not know themselves because they do not study how they function, we do not study ourselves, we do not know how we are acting in life. Thus, we do not know how to feel, we do not know how to think, we do not know how to act, and it is from this feeling, thinking and acting that all the results in our lives come from. Our behavior in this not knowing how to think, feel and act puts us in a condition where all this movement within us, because it is a movement without awareness, there is no Intelligence in this movement.

Look inside your head and you will perceive that. Our thoughts determine not only our actions, but also how we feel, in relation to ourselves, in relation to others and in relation to life. The way in which emotion or feeling, or thought, is present, is determining our actions, our behavior. The basis of human life, our experience of life as human beings happens within relationships. So, notice something here: the lack of comprehension of thought, feeling and sensation, once within relationships what is present are actions – and these actions, as we have just said, are determined by how we feel and by what we think – these actions are conflicting actions, in disorder, in confusion, because there is no presence of Truth in them. There is no presence of Truth because there is no Intelligence, there is no Wisdom, basically there is no Comprehension. If you don't know why you think what you think – or feel what you feel, or speak what you speak, or act or behave as you do, or operate as you are operating – if you don't comprehend your actions, they produce disorder, they produce confusion. And that's what we have in our relationships.

Here, in these meetings, we are studying with you how to realize the Truth about yourself, in this life, to have a direct approach to your true Nature. And, here, we are saying that the Truth about you is not what it shows itself to be. We have that which shows itself to be the truth about who we are at this moment, but there is a Reality beyond that, which we are unaware of. This Reality is the one that becomes present when we comprehend the question of thought. What is thought? What is this movement of thinking?

So, what is thinking? Without the comprehension of it, you do not have a direct, real, true comprehension of the Nature of your Being. This is because you are trapped, mistaking yourself for this movement of ignorance of thinking, the ignorance of what thought is. Your reactions are reactions that come from the past, something learned, stored within you. So, what is the truth of thought? Observe! When something is requested of you, you respond; if I ask you a question, you answer. If an action is required of you in your relationship with him or her, that action happens. If a professional action is required in your profession, in your field of work, you respond, that action happens. And where does this come from? From knowledge.

This knowledge in you is the experience you have acquired throughout your life. These experiences are memories, they are recollections. Thought is part of this, so what is thought? It's memory, remembrance … A response with words requires knowledge, memory, remembrance, thought. A response with action requires knowledge, memory, experience… That can also be put as thought in action. Our actions are born from memory, they are born from a response of thought. Until we learn to deal with thought, we will not be aware of what thinking is in us and, of course, of what feeling is in us.

Note that thought is never unaccompanied by some level of sensation, feeling, emotion, concept, idea, presumption... All of this accompanies thought. And our life, today, is guided by thought, at this moment it happens because of thought. Yesterday was another day and, on that other day that was yesterday, our actions were also guided by thought, and this will continue to be like this. Unless we are aware of what thought is, there will be no comprehension of how to deal with the present moment.

Here, we are challenging ourselves to comprehend life without thought, a new way of approaching the experience of today, of this moment, without the past and, therefore, without thought. At a certain level you need knowledge, at another level you don’t need it. Remembering your address is a thought, your name is a thought, your wife’s name is a thought, your husband’s name is a thought… Remembering how to perform a professional action requires memory – physical, muscular, motor memory and intellectual knowledge, which is thought. At this level, thought is needed, but the problem arises when thought is completely guiding your life, as it has been doing.

When you don't like someone, that's a thought you have about him or her; when you like someone, that's a thought you have about him or her. You can't like someone you don't remember. If you don't remember, there is no like. So, notice how interesting it is to investigate this issue of what thought is and what thinking is. When thought is present, we have the expression of thinking, the presence of thinking is what is present and there is a thought there. When that thought carries a charge of sensation and emotion of pleasure, I like that thought.

So, to like someone is to have the memory of pleasure with that person, but what is that person? A memory, a recollection, a thought. This quality of thought, notice, is what is producing all kinds of confusion in our lives, because “I like someone, but I also don’t like the other; I like some memories in myself, but I also don’t like other memories present in me.”

It is important that you also perceive that these thoughts are reactions that come from the past, but they are not under the control of this “me,” this “I,” this person as you see yourself. You do not have the thoughts that you want, you have thoughts. Thought in you is something that happens as a reaction of memory, as a response that comes from the past. A response or a reaction to a stimulus that occurs at this moment, then thought arises. You have no control over this stimulus, just as you have no control over this thought, and that is what we need to become aware of.

The awareness of thought is the awareness of thinking, discovering what it is to remain free of this format of thought, which occurs on the basis of reaction: a response reaction and a stimulus reaction. You don't know what your next thought will be, which shows us that thought happens; you don't know what the next stimulus or trigger for a thought will be. See how important that is. These internal states that we know, that we want to get rid of, we cannot get rid of them, because they are inherent in this unaware condition of thought, without any control, happening within each of us.

We have, for example, anxiety and depression, we have different forms of fear, worries, anguish, sadness... We want to get rid of these negative aspects of thought, but who is this element that wants to get rid of? It is the thinker itself; it is the “I”! But what is the “I”? What is the thinker? The person as you feel yourself to be is nothing other than a set of memories and recollections, positioning itself in this moment as an element that separates itself from this instant. This is the condition of the ego, it is the condition of the “I,” of this lack of awareness of the Truth about who we are.

Here, with you, we are discovering how to discard this condition for a life free from thought and, therefore, free from this model of thinking. Here on the channel, we have several videos investigating this subject with you, delving deeper into it. The awareness of this comprehension is the vision of non-separation between you in your true Nature and the Reality of God! This is what is known in India – and here on the channel, we are working with you on exactly this – it is known as Advaita.

This is the real vision of That which lies behind the great religions of the world: the Awareness of Divine Reality. So, Advaita is Zen, it is the real vision of the message of Christ, of Buddha, of Krishna, of Ramana Maharshi, and of all the great sages, saints who in this life realized God. And this is what we are here working with you on. This is about this attainment of Awakening, of Spiritual Enlightenment. When people ask how to attain Spiritual Enlightenment, the Truth of the Revelation of your Being is this attainment, this awareness, this comprehension, this Truth of this Being revealing itself at this moment. We eliminate the idea of a time to attain and we become aware of the reality of this Truth, here and now.

That’s what we’re working on here with you. On Saturday and Sunday, we have online meetings. You can find our WhatsApp link to join these meetings in the video description. We also have in-person meetings and retreats. If what you've just heard makes sense to you, please leave a “like” here, and go ahead to subscribe to the channel and leave a comment saying, “Yes, that makes sense.” Okay? See you soon! Thanks for the meeting and see you next time.

Self-Awareness Immersion | Psychological time | How to deal with jealousy in relationships?

Here, there is a fact, we are inviting you to the Awakening of Wisdom. This Awakening requires the presence of a direct comprehension of how you function. That's why if there's a subject here that we keep coming back to, it's the subject of the beauty of this immersion in Self-Awareness.

Without a vision of the Truth about yourself, without the importance of Self-Awareness in your life, this particular life of yours will continue to be the life of someone present in life, in living, in experience. Note that everything happens in life with experiences. They are experiences happening.

The great truth about experiences we don't know, and we've never investigated. What is the truth of experiences? Since everything that happens in life is stored in this way, in the form of an experience. Follow along with me here, now, at this moment.

When you are faced with a given situation, that situation is an event. When you go through that situation, the representation of what you went through is now an experience for you. Thus, our lives are constantly happening and being transformed for each of us into a memory in this format.

So, our experiences are nothing other than what happens, what happens and we store it, memorize it, acquire it, and it becomes part of this knowledge of experience that we have. Then, that's what shapes all the knowledge we bring with us.

Therefore, events are events that represent our stored experiences and, therefore, acquired knowledge. Then, with this knowledge, we once again put ourselves in new situations, or go through new situations, and these situations are transformed into new experiences and new knowledge. This shapes the “I,” “me,” this person, this sense of being someone. This sense of being someone is what is known as the ego, the “person,” this “me.”

Here we are with you exploring the issue of the “I,” investigating the structure and nature of the “I.” Thus, we come across something fundamental, something essential, a discovery that may prove to be, notice, the revelation that this sense of “I” – which is the result of these events that are transformed into experiences stored in us and, therefore, into knowledge acquired by each of us – is just a way of continuing this psychological model in which we find ourselves today. This sense of “I” is this psychological model.

Here we are challenging you to have a direct comprehension of the Truth that this psychological model is memory conditioning. This is not the Reality about you; it is the truth that you express within relationships.

So, your contact with people, among people, in this “person” that you are, this truth is the truth of a set of memories, of recollections. It's these memories of past experiences and knowledge that are interfering all the time in this moment within relationships, providing the basis for these relationships, since this is something that comes from the past, it's the result of experiences and knowledge acquired, in contact with the present moment, within a relationship.

And here it's important to understand this. Life is not something that happens over time. Realize the importance of this comprehension. This instant is not an instant in time. This notion of time that we have, of past, present and future, is a notion created by thought. There is no such thing as time. The truth of this instant is that Something is present, but it's not within that time, as the thought in us formulates this belief.

The thought in us formulates the idea, the thought, the concept, a formulation of past, present and future. And how does thought create this formulation? Everything that can be remembered is the past, everything that can be imagined is the future, and this notion of the present, in this formulation of thought, is what stands between the past and the future. Your notion of time is a notion based on thought.

Life is not something that is happening in time, it is something that is at this moment revealing itself as something outside of this formulation of thought called time. This time is the time that thought idealizes, that is in the idea, in the model of thought. Life is something at this instant revealing itself, and we are attending to life at this moment in such a way that the past, which is these experiences, which is memory, which is knowledge, has given formation to someone present here. That someone is the “I.”

This element is just the result of the experience of past knowledge, and it is confronting the present moment, approaching to this instant, to that which is here. We call it present moment. It is the moment of this instant, which transcends or is beyond this so-called present and also past and future.

Our contact with this moment, since this contact represents this element that comes from the past, is a contact of separateness, of disorder, of conflict, because we establish an interpretation of this moment, an evaluation of this moment, a judgment of this moment based on the past. Whereas, in reality, this moment represents something new, and we are bringing in this element from the past.

Notice how important it is to study, to comprehend, to see, to be able to perceive in yourself this movement that comes from the past, which is giving rise to this identity, which is the “I.” Thus, the “I” is in contact with the moment, establishing a particular vision of the world, of experience, of knowledge, something that comes from the past. To put it very bluntly: why do we have problems in life? And where exactly is this problem we have in life?

Note that the only problem we have in life is the problem of relationships; it's our relationship, be it with ourselves, with others or with life, but this element is always present. Life is something that is happening right here, right now, but we bring to life this element, which is the “I,” which is the result of experience and knowledge. So, to quickly go over this for you: when an event occurs, it becomes an experience; this experience is knowledge, and this knowledge, experience, event is shaping this “I.”

Look, in a very quick and direct way, we've already perceived that the truth of what you represent yourself to be... Look, this is a verbal statement about it. You need to get closer to yourself and perceive the truth of that, no longer in a verbal, intellectual way. Look how simple it was to put it into words. Very quickly, it was put here in just a few minutes, but the comprehension of it consists – the real comprehension of it – of working on discarding this “I,” this ego, this element that comes from the past: it's the work of a lifetime.

The basis for this work is Self-Awareness. Studying your reactions, comprehending how you function within this contact with life. And we've just seen this: this contact with life is the contact of relationships. Either you are in a relationship with yourself, with the other, or with happenings, situations, events, occurrences, and this contact is a contact of relationship, and in this contact of relationship is present this “I” with this background of experience and knowledge.

Can we discover life in the Truth of what it is? In other words, life without this element that comes from the past and shows itself here. You see, this happens all the time. At all times, you as a person are reacting to this relationship. Life is something happening here and now. Is it possible to experience only this instant without the element that comes from the past with its experience and knowledge?

Then your contact with him or her, with this or that situation, with this or that event at this instant, will not be transformed into an experience and therefore into a new knowledge. This quality of action in life is the real action of the relationship, free of the “I,” free of the ego. If, in life, what we need is Love, Peace, Freedom, Happiness in our relationships, in our contact with what is presented here, which is life in its mysterious movement, we need to be free of the “I,” free of the ego, free of this “me.”

Here we are with you, showing you that we can discover life here and now, in this relationship, without the presence of this element that comes from the past. How have we given rise to this element? How has it been maintained? Within human history, the condition of being someone is exactly like that.

When we go through situations, we turn it into a memory, we keep it and it becomes an experience. Based on this experience, this memory, this knowledge, we are constantly relating to others, relating to situations, and having a relationship with ourselves. But what is this “me?” What is this “I?” It's the past.

There is a Beauty in life: it is Life itself when it reveals itself, without the sense of someone being present. Thus, the various problems we have in life are relationship problems, due to the presence of the past. This encounter with the Beauty of Life, of Real Life – which is not this life that consists of this movement, where there is this separation between this present moment and this element that comes from the past – consists of the awareness that Life is present and this element doesn't need to be here.

When people have problems of all kinds, all of them, it happens in an invariable way, all the human problems we have revolve around how the mind in us works, establishing itself in this model, and at every moment this shows itself again and again and again. This sustains the identity, which is the identity of the “I,” and sustains this notion of time. I refer to this psychological time, where the illusion of an identity present is established, which is the ego.

Note that at no point have I said that time is not real. For objective and practical purposes, we have this dream time of this so-called human life. We had yesterday on the calendar and we'll have tomorrow, that's on the calendar. That's chronological time, clock time. Here I refer to the time that sustains this identity, which is the illusory identity of the “I.”

When people have problems, and here I'm going to mention just one, such as dealing with insecurity in relationships, they don't know what to do with these problems, and they seek help in this or that other way, and they don't understand that the basis of the problem is the “I,” it's the ego. The Awakening of your Real Nature is the end of this condition, because it is the end of this model of being someone, of living in this psychological time, in this model of experience and knowledge.

“How do you deal with insecurity? How to deal with jealousy and insecurity?” This is just one of the problems that human beings have. Jealousy, insecurity, the problems that arise within relationships. All of this has its origin, its basis in that psychological condition of time where the sense of “I” is established.

Thus, the various human problems, such as anxiety, depression, fear, envy, attachment, we don't have the Truth of Love present, because we lack this awareness, which is the awareness of Being, the awareness of the Truth about ourselves, about this Reality that is beyond the “I.” When it reveals itself, there is this Truth of Life at that instant, at that moment. So, what we have at that moment is the Reality of your Being, it's the Reality of God, it's the Reality of Life. This is revealed when there is an end to this psychological condition of egoic identity.

Spiritual Awakening, Spiritual Enlightenment or the Awareness of God is the awareness of your Being when this illusion ends, when this model of the “I” falls apart, vanishes. Here, on this channel and also in online meetings on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, we are together investigating this with you, working with you to bring an end to this psychological time, to this illusion of an identity that is based on experience, on knowledge, on memory.

A life free of the sense of “I” is a life possible here and now, where thought has its place, where knowledge has its place and experience also has its place, but only in a practical and objective way for matters of natural order within this dream of existence. This no longer sustains this psychological sense of ego-identity.

Thus, Saturday and Sunday we're here together working on this with you. You can find our WhatsApp link here in the video description, so you can get closer to these online meetings on weekends. We also have face-to-face meetings and retreats. If what you've just heard makes any sense to you, go ahead, leave your “like” here, subscribe to the channel and say in the comments: “Yes, it makes sense” OK? And we'll see you. Joel Goldsmith | The Heart of Mysticism | Recognizing God | Self-awareness | Master Gualberto

GC: Hello, everyone! We are here for another videocast. Once again, Master Gualberto is here with us. Thank you, Master, for your presence. Today, I will read an excerpt from Joel Goldsmith's book called “The Heart of Mysticism.” In an excerpt from this book, Master, Joel makes the following comment: “In recognizing God as infinite, we recognize power as infinite power.” Regarding this issue of recognizing God, can the Master share his vision on this subject?

MG: Gilson, we are not dealing here with a concept, a belief, an image, a symbol. When we deal here with the Truth of God, we are not dealing with something that thought can translate, can represent and, therefore, can recognize. So, our questions need to be investigated. Here, the expression is “recognizing God.” See, you cannot recognize God. The psychological condition in which we find ourselves, within this limitation, where the model is the model of thought, because that is the model that we know... This model cannot identify That which is outside of the known. You can become aware of the Reality of God, but when you go beyond this condition, this mind as we know it.

So, it is not about recognizing God, it is about assuming the Truth of God. But we were educated, taught, shown this way, we were taught this way, they presented God to us as an element separate and apart from what we are, and now we are searching to find Him. This search is thought’s search, it is the search for the concept, it is the search for the image, the symbol, the mental representation, so there is no truth in this search. It is not about finding God! Here, Truth reveals itself when we learn the truth about ourselves, when we discover what it means to study our reactions, only when we are free from this format of psychological conditioning in which we find ourselves, only when we are beyond thought and, therefore, from this thinker, from this element present in each one of us, which sees itself as an entity in time and space, separate and apart from life, separate and apart from the other human being, separate and apart from God. When this pattern is broken, we indeed have the Vision of Reality, but this Vision of Reality is Reality revealing itself. The Truth, Gilson, about you, is that you are Divine Reality when illusion is no longer present. It is the present illusion that prevents us from having clear awareness of this Reality that we are.

Here, you see the photo of Ramana Maharshi, the Sage of Arunachala hill – he lived in southern India. When people asked him about God, how to find God, how to see God, he would say: “To be God is to see God. To see God is to be God.” In other words, Gilson, there is a present Reality, and the Vision of this Reality is the Vision of this Being itself. Here, in this life, the most important thing for each one of us is the full awareness of where God is, of where God is. In our thinking, we have been educated to believe – this is something of culture, of religious conditioning – that God is somewhere far away, separate from ourselves. Even when we use expressions like “God is within us,” these are expressions of belief. Thought formulates this, puts it into words.

So, what we have are imaginations about where God is: either He is in a distant place or He is within us. It is because we always look at this from a point of view of belief, of thought and, therefore, of ideas, of imaginations. We are not fully aware of this, of where God is. Can we be aware of this? The answer is: yes, since He is not something separate and distant, He is a present Reality, but He is present only when illusion no longer shows itself. It is only when there is no more illusion showing itself that this Reality reveals itself to each one of us, and when this is present, this sense of “I,” of the ego, is no longer there.

So, getting closer to the Truth about ourselves, studying what is happening here, in our mind and in our heart, discarding this sense of separation, having a complete and absolute emptying of all this old psychological content of conditioning, of beliefs, of ideas, of mental formulations, of concepts, discovering the Truth of That which we are... In this discovery, there is a discarding of this illusion, of this illusion that we present ourselves to be, that we demonstrate in life. This sense, Gilson, of a present person, who sees himself, herself, here and God there; this is the way in which thought has worked in each one of us. A direct look at the Truth of That which we are is a discarding of this imagination, this belief, this suggestion, this way of thinking and feeling about ourselves, and, naturally, of thinking and feeling about the other. This is the end of the illusion of this separation between you and Life, between you and God.

Here, we are always, Gilson, coming back to what we consider the basics for this self-discovery. The basics for this self-discovery are the deepest lesson. So, it is about learning to get closer to yourself and look at what is happening here and now, inside each one of us, when we have thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations... All of these are elements in us that appear at this moment and that are the result of a way in which this body and mind function. Much of this is within a format or model of psychological conditioning that needs to be seen. If we are unable to see this, if we are unable to perceive this, our psychological condition of existence will be a condition of ignorance.

The great truth, Gilson, is that we do not know the Truth about ourselves, and this is what explains all this internal confusion in which we find ourselves and all forms of suffering that persist in our lives. So, we live in a mixture of pleasure and pain, joy and sadness, happiness and unhappiness. What we know in life is within a movement that is already well known and recognized by thought, and this thought cannot reach Truth, it cannot approach this Divine Reality, since this Reality is beyond thought.

When you discover what it means to study your reactions, you discover how to let go of the illusion of this sense of separation for a Real Divine Approach, for a Real Awareness of God. When God is, it is when He reveals Himself; this is when “What is” is present as the only Reality; it is present when this sense of separation is not, when this sense of ego identity is not. Therefore, to see God is to be God. To recognize God is to become aware of your own Being in this instant, in this moment. There is nothing more important in life, Gilson, than the Awareness of your own Being, which is the Awareness of God.

Here, we are within a context of life where all types of situations are present, but situations created by thought, sustained by thought, within a way of existence where we are seeing everything separate and apart from That which we are in our own Being. We are not aware of That which we are, of the Truth about ourselves. We are seeing everything based on thought. Therefore, the element present in us of perception, of observation, of sensation, is the “I.” We have a feeling of thinking, feeling, acting, and doing in life. This feeling is born from this thinker, this observer, this experiencer. It is an experiencer who sees himself separate from experience, a thinker who sees himself separate from thought, an element within us that, at feeling, sees oneself separate from what one feels.

So, we have no awareness, at all, of the Reality of this Being that we are, here and now. It is the awareness of this that reveals the Truth of God, but as long as we are within this duality of “thought and thinker,” “experience and experiencer,” “that which is being seen and someone in this seeing,” we will be within illusion, within ignorance, this will be the psychological condition of existence of an identity that sees oneself separate and apart from God. Here, our proposal consists of this self-discovery, this self-revelation, the Truth of That which You are when illusion ends. That is why we cannot break this illusion without studying what is happening here and now, with each one of us.

This entire old movement of searching or seeking this Divine Reality, based on thought, is based on this thinker. This entire search, this search for experiences, is based on this experiencer. So, it is not about having perceptions or sensations, or experiences, or having visions that we can talk about later, because all of this is still within the scope of the known, all of this is still within the movement of thought itself, and here, the Truth of That which is God is outside of this, outside of what thought can know, outside of what thought can recognize, understand or capture. This is the nature of God; it is the nature of Truth. This is something that is outside of time, outside of what is known.

GC: Master, we have a question here from a subscriber on the channel. She makes the following comment and asks: “I have felt God many times in my life. Is this feeling something that I also need to observe?”

MG: Gilson, notice the question: “I have felt God many times in my life.” See, this element present within us is the element that stores experiences. This record of experiences is memories, it is remembrance, it is something that is part of the past. What is the Reality of the Truth about God? What is the Reality of this Truth? It is the one that is present here. That is Reality! So, the Truth about God is the Reality that is present in this moment. So, to your question, if we need to observe this: everything that arises as an experience arises for an element within the experience. That element that is separate from the experience is still part of the experience, and that element is in time.

There is a present Reality. Yes, there is a present Reality, it is the Reality of God, it is the Reality of this Being, but It is not part of time and, therefore, it is not something that can be remembered or experienced, because this Divine Reality is beyond the experiencer. Therefore, it is not something to be experienced nor is it something that is part of the past, like remembrances, memories or thoughts. Divine Truth, the Truth of this Being, which is the Reality present in each one of us, which is the Reality of God, is not in time, it is not in the known, it is not in experience, it is not in the past, nor in the present, nor in the future. It is something completely different from all of this.

And here, this Realization is assuming This. As we said a moment ago, it is going beyond the thinker and thought, the experiencer and the experience, the observer with what one is observing. That is why the truth of a real approach to Meditation is Meditation without this element present, which is the meditator. When there is the Truth of Meditation, there is the presence of the Divine Reality. There is, Gilson, nothing more important for our lives than a direct approach to the Truth of That which is God, as we have just said, the awareness of where He is.

So, there is nothing more important for our lives than an approach to Meditation, and this Meditation is the truth that there is no one involved in this, so we have the reality of Meditation. True Meditation is present when there is no longer an element present in the practice, such as the meditator. The question is: How can we approach this? By discovering what it means to look, just to look. To look at our reactions, be it thoughts, emotions, feelings, sensations… to discover what it means to look! To look without this element that looks, to observe without this element that observes. The basis for all this is to put Attention on this moment, on what is happening here, in this moment. Our words, gestures, thoughts, whatever is happening externally or internally, this is the basis. So, Self-awareness is part of this, and Meditation is based on Self-awareness. This is what we are working on together with you, deepening here with you.

GC: Master, we have another question here, from another subscriber. He asks the following question: “Master, can you make a video explaining how to do self-investigation?”

MG: Gilson, self-investigation is the basis for all of this, and self-investigation is what we have been discussing in all of these videos, not just in one specific video. All of our videos address the truth about Self-awareness, which requires the presence of this Attention on this entire movement of the “I,” which is self-investigation, which is self-inquiry. Now, something much greater than that, is these meetings. In these online, in-person meetings and retreats, we are working on all of this in a much more direct way. What is here, in these videos, is an approach of direct tips on how to work on this thing, but there is something present – and we have already talked about this countless times in the videos –, which is the Presence of Grace, which makes this work possible. That is what we are doing together in these meetings.

GC: Thank you, Master, our time is up. Grateful for this videocast. Thank you for this videocast.

And for those of you who are watching the videocast until the end and have a real, sincere yearning to understand these truths, I invite you to participate in the meetings that Master Gualberto provides. In fact, there are online meetings, so you don't even have to leave your home to be able to immerse yourself in this understanding and self-investigation that the Master provides us in the meetings. Because the Master, having already had this so-called “Awakening of Consciousness,” lives in a State of Presence and shares this Presence, this Grace, this Power in the Satsang meetings, and this helps us a lot in this self-investigation, in this observation of the crazy movement of thoughts. So, here's the invitation.

In the first pinned comment, there is the WhatsApp link to participate in these meetings. In addition, give your “like” to the video, you can leave any comments with questions for us to bring to the next videos.

And, Master, thank you for this videocast.

How to deal with insecurity in relationship? | Immersion Self-awareness | Atma Vichara Ramana

Here, the question is: how to deal with insecurity in a relationship? In this relationship that you have with yourself, in the relationship that you have with others, in the relationship that you have with situations that occur, that happen, with the moments that life presents, in these relationships that we have problems. The various problems are present within these relationships.

Human life consists, in this psychological format of being, as we know it, of problems. We cannot break away from this. There is no way to break with this without breaking with this element that comes from the past. Life here, in this instant, in this moment, contact with people in this instant, with situations here and now, with occurrences, events and happenings arising at this exact moment, these do not constitute problems. None of these are, in fact, a problem.

Problem arises when this element, which sees itself separate from what is present here, at this moment, appears. This element is this element that comes from the past. So, we have to investigate the nature of the “I,” this “me,” this person that we are, because it is this person that comes from the past. Your name is something that comes from the past, your story is something that comes from the past, your remembrances and memories come from the past.

Therefore, your contact with your wife – and there is disagreement, there is conflict, there is a problem in this relationship –, your contact with him or her, with your husband, with your son or with someone else is a contact where conflict is present, and it is present because you, as a person, what you bring to this moment, in this contact, is the past, it is the memory of him or her. You are never in real contact with what is present here, at this moment. Your contact is from a look, from a perspective, from a vision, that comes from the past.

Therefore, there is a curtain between this present moment, what is here, in this moment, and you, since, as a person, as someone, you are this element, which is nothing other than a set of memories, recollections, remembrances and images of occurrences, situations, events, and other relationships that you have had with him or her. Let us understand this here very clearly.

The memory you have gives you the identity of who you are: it's simple. All this memory that you represent, that you are at this moment... The name is memory, the story is memory, the unpleasant situations with her or him are memories, the pleasant situations with him or her are memories. Everything is memory. The person is memory. You have nothing to say about yourself without the past, which you are, which you represent.

See the beauty of this encounter we are in here, at this moment. Because, here, we are telling you that there is indeed a real life, free from the past. And this real life does not consist of this you, as you see yourself, as others see you, because they are also looking at you based on the past that you represent to them, that you represented to them. Just as you see them, they are also seeing you. And the beauty of this encounter here is discovering that, at this moment, it is possible for us to have direct contact with the Truth about ourselves.

This encounter is what I have called immersion in Self-awareness. It seems to me that all our talks here revolve precisely around this clear vision of the Revelation of who we are, here and now. This requires the elimination of this format of the past, which the “I” represents, which the person represents, which this “me” represents.

So, here we are seeing exactly this with you. How to deal with the various situations that arise in life? This is impossible: to deal with everything that arises without conflict, without contradiction, without suffering when there is no vision of the Truth of how you function, of how you establish these relationships that we have just presented here for you. They are established based on the past.

So, a life of relationships without conflict, without contradiction, without problems, without suffering is impossible, as long as this entity, this supposed real identity, is present. There is nothing real in this identity, except for this reality that thought has been constructed, established, based on memory, based on the past.

A direct look at all this internal movement – hence the importance of Self-awareness – a direct look at all this movement of the “I,” at all this movement of the ego, is the end of this illusion, it is the end of this psychological condition of relation or relationship. Our relation is with situations, events, objects. You are in a relation with your car, with your house, with your cell phone: this is a relation.

In general, we have no problem with this level of relation, although even here, psychologically, this sense of “I,” of the ego, is always creating some level of discomfort or conflict, even in a relation with objects. But it is much more common for the problem to arise in relations with situations and with people. And this relation with people is what we call a relationship.

Note that a good part, a very large percentage of the problems in our lives, are present precisely within these relations between people, which are our relationships. Discovering the Truth about yourself is going beyond this psychological condition, which is a prisoner of the model of thought. And why is this problem present here, in this relationship? Because this relationship is based on thought; it is a relationship that is established on thought foundation.

The thought that I have about you and the thought that you have about me are mental conclusions, they are ideas, they are beliefs. At times, I like you, at others, I don’t like you. At others, I feel comfortable; at other times, I feel intimidated, or terrified, or afraid. At others, I feel in love, attracted, seduced.

So, notice, all these states in which the human being finds himself are states that are changing. They are internal states, of an emotional, sentimental nature, that are changing due to the thought of the moment and the specific person with whom you are dealing; you feel this about them, this or that other person, and that or the other person feels this about you.

So, our relationships, based on thought, are conflicting, problematic, disorderly, contradictory. We live in internal states that are changing due to the sensation that thought produces, be it a feeling, an emotion, an apprehension, or any state that is present due to the sensation that is present. Here lies the presence of mental conclusion, of the certainty that thought brings us, that thought gives us: a conclusion. Notice, it is just a conclusion, an absolute certainty. See, an absolute temporary certainty, because at the moment that I appreciate you, thought tells me that this will be forever.

This matter of love present, that we feel for people. Look, let's investigate this. What is this love I feel for someone? First: who is this someone that “I” am? Who feels what one feels, specifically, for whom one feels it? And why does one feel it for that person and not for someone else? Does this have anything to do with him or her or does it have something to do with the psychological model of thought that is present here, in this “me,” in this “I?” Note that we do not investigate any of this.

When an emotion, feeling, sensation is present, we do not realize that what is behind it is a model of thought. And every thought in you, notice this, every thought in you is something present because of the past, it is just an experience registered within you in this format of thought, sensation, feeling and emotion.

Some experiences, which are memories in you, have already given you pleasure, have already filled you psychologically at some point. This is reserved, stored, it is part of this memory of this “me,” this “I,” of what, today, is you, and in this encounter with him or her, this appears again, which is nothing other than a memory, a thought with a sensation, feeling or emotion of pleasure in this contact.

Note that this is what we call love, being in love, falling in love. Obviously, we are not aware of any of this on a conscious level. This is a memory or recollection at a deep, hidden, reserved level, something on an unconscious level that is now emerging.

So, it is important that we understand this. Our feelings, emotions, sensations and perceptions of this moment have as their principle this background of which we are not aware. So, this unconscious background reveals itself in this or that format. If it is in the form of pleasure, fulfillment and satisfaction, we call it love, in contact with him or her. But all of this is constantly changing. When situations change, circumstances change, new situations occur, this thought, feeling, sensation and perception also change.

So, we do not understand the Truth about ourselves, and we want to discover what it means to deal with insecurity in a relationship. Note, this requires the presence of the vision of the Truth about you. Ramana Maharshi, the sage from the mountain of Arunachala, to all who approached him with problems, the only recommendation was that he or she become aware of this very “I,” because it is in this “I” that the whole problem lies.

Ramana called it Atma Vichara. So, Atma Vichara, of Ramana Maharshi, is the approach of this look at this inner movement. Once you become aware of this very inner movement, which is the movement of the “I,” you have a vision of the Truth about yourself. So, here, the question is: who am I?

Until it becomes clear to you, notice, that it is exactly this psychological movement of this ego-identity present, processing itself, occurring in a completely mechanical, unconscious way, as long as this is maintained, illusion will be present and problem will be present. Thus, illusion will be present, ignorance will be present, suffering will be present.

The Truth of the Revelation of That which is You is the understanding of the movement of the “I,” the movement of the ego, then it ceases, it ends. This sense of the “I,” of the ego, of this “me,” the illusion of this identity that sees itself separate and apart from Life, separate from the other, separate from God, is this identity that sustains itself with problems, due to this model of separation.

What is the truth of That which is You? To have an approach to oneself is to have the awareness of the Revelation of Divine Truth. So, Atma Vichara is the direct approach to the Revelation of Self-awareness. And when this is present, Something new emerges. This is the end of this old condition of egoic identity and, therefore, of problems present in life.

This is what we are working on here with you in these meetings. Here, on Saturdays and Sundays, we are together investigating this subject, deepening it. There is something that is necessary for our lives at this moment: it is the Awakening of this Natural State of Being, where the sense of the “I” is no longer present. So, here, in the video description, you have our WhatsApp link to participate in these weekend meetings.

In addition, there are face-to-face meetings and retreats. If this is something that makes sense to you, here is an invitation. Leave your “like” here, subscribe to the channel and leave a comment here: “Yes, it makes sense.” Ok? And we'll see you. Thanks for the meeting and see you soon!

Spiritual Intelligence | Deal with toxic family members | Self-Awareness | Search for happiness

Notice that there is something very curious about human behavior, and I want to touch on one of these things. Our search in life – notice – the human search in life is a search for love, and yet, their search is the search for happiness. So, let's look at a few things here with you. The first of them is that the idea that people have about happiness is something found when we find some level of pleasure, fulfillment or satisfaction in a given achievement. Thus, there is this search for happiness, in this search for love.

Note, some things will be put here for you within this speech. There is a possible Reality, really, for each one of us, but it is not found in this love as thought within us idealizes, aspires, searches, seeks, wants to find. So, we do not find the presence of the Truth of Love, we find relationships. And in these relationships, this seesaw, the ups and downs of situations happening. We live psychologically, within our relations, or relationships, in these ups and downs of a seesaw: pleasure, joy, fulfillment, satisfaction... this is the “ups.” And the “downs” are conflict, contradiction, deception, lies, and problems in relationships.

This is the seesaw of our relationships with people, this is what we find in human relationships. These days I came across a very curious question that is serious and also funny, at the same time. The question is: “How to deal with a toxic family? How to deal with a toxic family?” For us, the world is toxic, the other is toxic, life is toxic. For us, “I don’t cause any problems for myself; I myself, for myself, I don’t cause any problems. It’s people who cause me problems, they are the ones who are toxic, they are the ones who create situations for me.”

Here, I want to touch on this issue of the illusion about who we are. The truth about who we are is the illusion of who we believe we are. Notice, the truth about who we are is the illusion of who we believe we are, that's the truth about us. In this context of relation or relationship with others, what we have within this context is the presentation of internal states present in “me,” in this “I,” in each one of us, in this contact with him or her, where we have problems, dilemmas, adversities, complications, and disorder.

There are many conflicts in our relationships, but remember, they are many in our relationships because we are present in them. We live as someone special, separate and apart, “others are the ones who cause me problems.” This is not true, the great truth is that our problems in our relations, or in our relationships, are the fact that we are present in these relationships. Therefore, it is not about people causing you problems, being toxic to you, it is about you being present as someone in the experience of relationships, within a context of relationship with the other, having totally contradictory ideas about yourself.

You see yourself as someone good, who doesn't fail, who doesn't make mistakes or has small flaws, but the other person has serious flaws and is not good. Thus, the vision you have of who you are, the vision of yourself, is the vision that your mind has idealized, imagined. Your ideal of being is the thought you have about who you are; others have the same thing about themselves, that's why, when you're in contact with someone, you always see yourself as being right and the other person as being wrong.

Notice that our psychological condition in this so-called “search for love” – which ends up being a great illusion, because what we find in our relationships is not the presence of Love, but rather the presence of confusion, disorder, conflict and suffering – is because our contact with the world based on this illusion, this image that we have constructed about who we are, is an image established in contradiction. You have the ideal of being good, fair, someone who does not make mistakes, who does not fail or who has small and not so serious flaws, but it is an image, it is a conclusion of thought about yourself.

The way you treat others is based on the states of contradiction in which you find yourself, and it is easy to see this here. You must have noticed many times your real state of being someone, someone in contradiction, someone contradictory. You think one thing, you feel another thing and do a third thing. You feel guilty for what you did, remorse for what you caused. You always have the idea or intention of getting it right, and when you seem to have gotten it right, you soon discover that your success was only an agreement in favor of your own “self,” of your own ego, for an advantage, to gain something, to take something from that experience for yourself.

Our life, or the life of the “I,” of this “me,” of this person, is one of contradiction. Our behavior, our actions, since they are born from thought – and we will see this here, now, with you – in the same way that the other behaves is how you behave. Here, our commitment is to study ourselves, not the other. The idea in you is that the other does you harm, the other is toxic, the other harms you, the other is like this, is this way or that other way; whereas, here, we are investigating the truth about who “I” am, about who we are.

So, this search for love and this search for happiness are both mistaken; you will never find happiness in your search. Your ideal of happiness is like your ideal of being good: it is a contradiction that you are not aware of, because you do not see yourself, you do not observe yourself. The Reality of That which is you is not within the knowledge that you have about who you are, the recognition that you make about yourself. Your project of happiness is that, by finding something or someone that makes you happy, you will have love in that encounter, and in the achievement of that search, happiness. This is a mere projection of thought, it is an ideation, it is a mental concept!

Every model we have is a cultural, social model… So, we have an idea about love as an imagination about happiness, whereas we do not know the Truth about who we are. Your search for happiness, in this search of love or your search for love, in this search of happiness, is something that thought has planned, has idealized. This is how our actions are: our actions happening in our relationships are actions that arise from a premeditation of thought.

All actions that occur in life are actions of life, but apart from these actions of life, we have introduced an illusion here: the idea of someone in action; and someone in action is thought in expression. Notice that all your actions arise from thought, so you have a thought, and you try to adjust this action in line with that thought. Anything that you do or set out to do, you do and set out to do based on the psychological structure, which is the structure of the “I.” This psychological structure is this consciousness, where what is present is a movement of thought. So, our ideas are what sustain our actions.

When you have a relationship with someone, what you say to them is based on a thought you have; what you do to them is based on a thought you have; your relationship with them, the expression of emotions or feelings and actions, are based on thought within you. This is an act that arises from the will, from desire, from internal movement, from intentional action. Thus, our actions are born from desire or from fear, this is how our relationships happen and, due to the presence of this psychological condition, of actions centered on this “I,” on this person, confusion is present in the family. It is present in the family because we are this family.

Notice how interesting this is: when we look at the confusion in the world, we believe that there is confusion in the world but there is none in us. This is not true, because the confusion in the world is just a larger extension of a smaller, private confusion within each of us. Here we are, with you, discovering the Truth about who we are, and naturally we need clarity to see. Seeing requires light. Notice that if there is an object there in the dark, you need a light on it. When that object is under the light, beneath the light, it is seen.

What is the truth about you? Do you need to find love? Do you need to seek happiness? Or rather do you need to become aware of the truth about yourself and perceive that your actions, which are born from thoughts, feelings, and emotions, are actions that are producing confusion, disorder, suffering, and problems in your life? And if this is discarded, the Reality of Love reveals itself, the Truth of Happiness shows itself; but as long as there is this movement of searching for love and searching for happiness, as human beings have been doing, all they will find are relationships, and pleasure, and satisfaction, and external achievements in various goals, in various dreams, in various material achievements. This is not the Truth of Happiness.

You may be someone who lives in external comfort, but that does not eliminate, will never eliminate, psychologically, this internal discomfort created and sustained by this ego-identity. What will be the truth of this encounter with the Truth of Love and Happiness? The encounter is the one that occurs when there is the Awakening of Spiritual Intelligence, of this Divine Intelligence, which is the Nature of your Being, something beyond the ego, something beyond the “I,” something outside of this image, this self-image that you have about who you are, and of these images that you have about others.

Note: your family is not the problem, all families are as they are; the world is not the problem, the world is what it is. The problem lies in the fact that the sense of someone present, which is the “I,” “me,” the ego, is constructing an idealized family through thought, in a world that thought is constructing, where this “I,” this “me,” this ego, this person as you see yourself is unhappy. And all this movement from this state of unhappiness, from this ego-identity, all this movement in the search for love, or in search of happiness, is a big ego’s fantasy, it is a great illusion.

Here we have touched on the importance of Revealing the Truth about yourself. The presence of Self-Awareness, the importance of Self-Awareness is this light that makes you perceive the truth about yourself. Here we are, with you, dealing with the blossoming of your Divine Nature, the Reality of your Being, which is, by nature, Real Love and Real Happiness. Realize it! It is not the family, it is not the world that is the problem; it is the illusion of someone, it is the illusion of this “me,” it is the illusion of this “I.”

That's why we're here on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, working on this with you. Here, in the video description, you can find our WhatsApp link to participate in these online meetings on weekends, where we'll be discussing this topic deeply with you. We also have in-person meetings and retreats.
