How the mind works? | Truth of Self-Awareness | Action free of the ego | Free of the experiencer

Here, if our actions are born from thought – note this – which is how, in general, it happens, then we have an idea, a thought. A thought or idea is just a memory, but it is enough to drive us to a given action. This action comes from thought, and behind it, there is an intention, a motivation, a desire, a concern, a fear... All of this appears behind thought and drives us to action. So, we have three elements within our actions. See how important it is to investigate this issue of action, because our entire lives happen within action. Our life is a movement of action. What is the nature of this action?

Nowadays, we have a life that presents our accomplished actions. So, all the results of life we have today are present due to actions. Some actions happened, some were taken. Life is this movement of action. We do not understand what action is and the importance of it in our lives. The point is that this type of action, as they have been until now, is born from a center, the “I.” This “I” is the experiencer, the one who is involved in this movement of thought, who has a feeling, an emotion, a sensation, a plan, a project, a desire, a concern, a form of fear behind that thought.

Our actions are self-centered. On some level, not everything has been complete, full, or integral in our lives because our actions, which arise from the ego – this is a way of responding to the challenge of what is shown at this moment, as the challenge for an action to be taken – those actions are not of Truth. Notice what an interesting thing the issue of action is: at every moment, we are being challenged to an action. Either we respond to that from Intelligence, Understanding, Vision of Reality, or from this center, the “I,” the ego. From the ego, our actions are based on thought, on the experiencer. The experiencer is the past in us, the past is that person, and the ego is the past.

So, notice what a curious thing this issue of action is: if our actions arise from this background, the “I,” the ego, the experiencer, they arise from thought, feeling, emotion, a way of perceiving, fear, and desire. This quality of action is the attempt to adjust this present moment to an idea, a model predetermined by the experiencer, the ego, the “I.” Thus, this quality of action produces conflict, suffering, contradiction, and problems in our lives. We need to discover an action free of the “I,” of the ego; therefore, free of the experiencer, of this model of thought. So, what do we have present in the incomplete action, in this attending to this instant, because this instant is where action is being requested – it is always like this, life is a challenge, and it asks for action at that moment –, but this action when born from the thinker who is the “I,” the ego, is an inadequate action, which is not Real.

What we are dealing with, together, is the possibility of an action for this given moment, this instant, that is a complete action and, therefore, free from this background, this “I,” this ego, since the action of this moment requires a Living, Real movement, capable of meeting this moment from the vision of Reality here and now, not from the past. However, our actions come from the past, because they come from this center – the “I,” the experiencer, the ego. Thus, they are continually producing one or another form of complication, suffering, and problem. Problems that are not only in our lives but also in the lives of people around us, because they are egocentric, ego-centered actions. The ego is this model of separateness, of duality, where there is this “I” and the other, “I” and life, and this “I” does everything within self-centeredness, self-interest, a search for personal results based – I repeat – on desire, fear, and all the different intentions of this egocentric identity.

So, we are here, on this channel, investigating this matter with you. What is life free of the ego? A life free of the ego requires the presence of the Truth of Self-Awareness. The Truth of Self-Awareness and the action free of the ego are fundamental for a life in Wisdom and Love, where there is this Intelligence. The presence of this Intelligence is the presence of Peace, Freedom, and Happiness. We have a playlist here on the channel: this issue of the Truth of Self-Awareness and the action free of the ego. In this playlist, we are delving deeper into this subject with you. There is another playlist that I want to recommend to you: The matter of Self-Awareness, the Truth of Self-Awareness, and True Meditation in a practical way – becoming aware of how you work and how the mind works.

You see, our mind is the human mind. This mind is the basis of the consciousness of the “I.” So, everything we know is within this consciousness of the “I.” Our entire functioning is based on the egoic, conditioned mind already programmed for this pattern, this model. Then, our actions are self-centered, mere egoistic activities, producing problems. We must discover the Truth of an Action totally different from this one. Attending to this instant, this present moment, from a vision free of the “I,” the ego. Here, we have an Action where there is no separation between this understanding of what is being requested and the action itself.

The Truth of the Awakening of Consciousness within us brings this Intelligence, a new way for this brain to function, and the presence of a new mind. Here, the expression “new mind” refers to the Truth of an internal state where there is no separation between the action requested and the response given. So, we are before a single movement, which is the movement of life itself, when the ego is not present. The Truth of this action is the presence of Love, Compassion, and Intelligence. The Action free of the ego, free from the “I,” is the one that no longer brings conflict, problems, disorder, or suffering.

Here, together, we have this approach to understanding how we work. Note that every thought in you is the result of an experience. So, we have an experience, we record it, and it becomes a thought stored within you, a memory. Based on this memory, we act by carrying out actions. As part of these thoughts, we have feelings, emotions, and the way of feeling. That is all part of the way the brain processes this memory. So, we have the basis of this experiencer acting, so the experiencer is the result of experience. When we record that given experience, it is present as memory, remembrance, memories, feelings, emotions… This is the experiencer! Faced with a new situation, this experiencer who comes from the past seeks to act. That's what hasn't worked.

That is what we deal with here with you. Is it possible to eliminate this experiencer from our lives? This experiencer is the ego, the “I,” who keeps registering to act based on this past experience. Note how interesting this subject is: life demands action, but an integral, complete, new action. It cannot be the result of the past. All the past can do is attempt to adjust this moment to something it already knows, already has and understands. That is what we have done in our lives. In contact with others, we do not look at them with new eyes. We always look through this experiencer, which is memory, remembrance, the pleasant or unpleasant moments “I had” with him or her. That is something of the past. In fact, we are always before something new.

This idea of someone is an image we place here and now. It is an image I make of them and bring to this moment. So, in this contact, this relationship, our action based on the past is conflicting. Note the truth implicit here in this statement: your contact with your wife, husband, neighbor, boss, co-worker, with yourself, when based on this experiencer that is the ego, is where there is this separation and, therefore, conflict; where what is present is the attempt of adjusting to something new, which is this contact we are interpreting based on the past. That is the movement of the ego, the “I,” in its relationships. Thus, our relationships are conflicting and problematic, where there is fear, desire, and conflict.

So, how can we have an Action free of the ego if this action is based on the past, on thoughts, on the images “I have” of them, that they have “of me”? Then, what is this “I,” this “me”? Becoming aware of this movement here is Self-Awareness. When we pay attention to all this internal movement, to this game thought, the experiencer – which is the ego – plays, becoming aware of it... just becoming aware of it, bringing awareness to this moment, consciousness to this moment… to this entire game thought, the experiencer, the ego sustains to maintain its continuity in these actions – which are mere reactions that come from the past, egocentric activities, because they are actions centered on this illusion of the “I,” in this supposed reality. Becoming aware of this, is the end to this psychological condition of being someone and seeing the other as someone, of seeing life, situations, people, and the world around from the viewpoint of this “me,” this “I.”

That’s when we come closer to the Truth. Thus, when there is Self-Awareness, there is an Action free of the ego, because the presence of the Revelation of Meditation occurs, the emptying of this content, which is the content of the “I,” the experiencer. This experiencer is the one loaded with its memories and images, which is the own thinker, the one observing from this center and therefore separating oneself. Then, this experiencer is the thinker, the observer, and the author of the actions – which are mere adjustments for this moment of an idea that it brings from the past.

Therefore, this work here consists of this investigation, this approach. Once free from this “I,” this ego, we have a totally different Action. That is our subject here with you within this channel. We are inviting you to investigate this, to look at this together. For this purpose, we have online meetings here on weekends. You find here, in the video description, our WhatsApp link to participate in these meetings. In addition, we have face-to-face meetings and also retreats. If this is something that makes sense to you, please leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel, and let's work on this together. OK? Here is the invitation and see you. Thanks for the meeting, and until next time.

Self-awareness and ego-free action | The True Meditation | No duality | Spiritual Awakening

The question is: when will we really have a real action, a true action, an action that is in fact Intelligent, Wise, that is no longer producing suffering either for us or for others? Is such a quality of action possible?

Notice that we have actions that we regret. We make resolutions in life and they lead us to actions that produce frustration, that produce suffering, that produce conflict and problems not only for us, but also for others. And we always want to succeed.

When people ask “how do I do the right thing?” – for example, “how to act under pressure?”, “How to succeed?”, “How to act correctly?”... These are questions we ask ourselves because we intend to act intelligently. The point is that there is no Intelligence! We don't know what action is, we don't know what Intelligence is. However, in life we are asked all the time to attend to life in action. Everything is action, they happen, they occur.

Speaking here is an action; listening is an action; the movement from morning until night: getting out of bed, having breakfast, going to work. So, we have physical actions, intellectual actions. Emotions move, and the movement of an emotion is action. Where there is movement, we have actions. So, life brings us a challenge and expects that challenge to be met with action. So, at all times we are being asked to take action. The problem is that we don't know how to respond to these actions, because our actions are born from the past. Yes, they come from the past.

All the experiences we've been through are now registered in us. It is this experiencer who acts, who operates, who does, who carries out the action when life requests it, and this action, as it is born from the experiencer, is born from the past. The problem is that responding to life at that moment requires appropriate action, and this past is an attempt to merely adjust to this instant, this moment, this challenge.

Notice why our actions are conflicting, problematic and produce suffering, not only for us, but also for the other person, for the world around us. Because these are actions that the experiencer brings, that they have, that are merely an adjustment to that moment. An action born out of thought doesn't meet that moment, because it's an action born out of the past. Only at one level, which is the practical, technical and functional level, is action based on knowledge, thought and experience a simple action, natural action that doesn't produce problems.

Working in a profession requires thought, knowledge, and experience, so you make use of this by operating, realizing, and doing. At this level, action is simple, it's natural. The problem arises when, psychologically, the sense of “I”, of “person” is present now, in this instant. So, our acting, our operating on the basis of the “I”, of the ego, is the action that causes problems. I have called this action egoic activity, egocentric activity.

We don't know ego-free action. For such an action to become possible, we need to understand how we ourselves function. Studying oneself is Self-Awareness. Studying this movement of the “I”, the experiencer, and this thinker in us is Self-Awareness. When there is this Truth of Self-Awareness, it becomes possible to have an ego-free action. That's what we're interested in here.

An action of this quality is possible when there is this Realization of your Being, when Something beyond the “I” is present, beyond the ego, beyond this movement, which is the egocentric movement. So, this egoic action, this action of this center that I have called illusory, the false center, is no longer present. So, when we get closer to the Truth about who we are, this “I” element, the experiencer, the thinker, is comprehended. If it is comprehended, this sense of separation that this “I” produces disappears. This separation is the principle of disorder, of confusion.

So, here we are working with you to put an end to this “I”, to the ego, the Truth of the Revelation of your Essential Nature, of your Divine Nature. We're working with you on the matter of action. So, what is action? Action is that which occurs here, which happens here, which at that moment expresses itself when the “I”, the ego, is not there. We have a few brief moments of such actions.

In front of a sunset, that's a moment of action. In that look, between the eyes and the sunset, separation disappears; the sense of “someone” to get, to gain, to get rid of, to accomplish something in that instant is no longer present. So, here we have an example of an action free of the “I”, of the ego. In this gaze, there is only observing, there is this Presence of pure observing, of pure observation. This is action, but there is no “someone” in this action, there is no “someone” watching the sunset. There is only looking, observing, without the observer. This pure observation is the action free from the “I”, from the ego.

When you look at a child's face, they smile and there is a response of smiling, so there is a challenge that is being met. There's no interest, fear, desire, or search for something in that smile. It's just an action, an event. We have moments like this in our lives, where a natural, spontaneous, and free action happens and that center, which is the “I”, the ego is not involved. Is it possible to have a life where we can attend to this moment in this way? Without ever placing that element, which is the “I” element, the ego, the thinker, the experiencer, the one who is the observer, without placing the sense of an identity present within the experience? Then, we are faced with an experience free from the ego. This is the action of Intelligence, the action of this Presence, this Being, this Unnamable, Unknown Reality.

All our life in the ego is the particular life of this “me” in this self-centeredness, in this egotism, in this egoism. Thus, all our activities are to obtain things, to accomplish things, to do things. There is always a motivation behind it, an intention, an objective, a target, a purpose. All of this comes from this model, which is the model of thought with its intentions, predilections, concepts, choices, and determinations. This is the quality of action that we generally know.

So, there's this thought – the idea –, intention, and action. These three elements are always present in egocentric activity. The Realization of God, the Realization of this Being, of this Truth – some call this “the Awakening of Consciousness”, “Spiritual Awakening” – the Realization of This is the answer to one of the fundamental questions of life, which is this matter of action, action without conflict, without suffering, and confusion. The flow of this moment without the sense of an “I,” an ego, a “person” present is a flow where Intelligence, Wisdom, Truth, and Divine Reality are present.

Psychologically, we live in a state of insanity, confusion, and disorder. Emotional disorder, sentimental disorder, thought disorder, and it's natural that our actions reflect this. We live psychologically in disorder, emotionally in disorder, and it's natural that physically we're in disorder. Our relationship with objects, our relationship with places, with our own ideas, with the people around us, with family members, co-workers, our relationship with the world around us is conflicted, it's problematic, because our actions are centered on the “I.” They are merely self-centered activities.

The presence of True Intelligence, Real Intelligence, is the vision of Wisdom, the vision of Understanding. The beauty of this is that there is no gap between this vision of Wisdom, of Intelligence and the action taking place. Unlike action where we have thought, intention and the author of the action, as in egocentric activity, in this activity of the “I,” which is the most common activity we know. The difference between this activity and Real, True action is that there is no space between Understanding, Intelligence, Wisdom, and action. There is no space because there is no duality, there is no “me and the other thing,” “me and action.” In this relationship with the other, with life, with the world, there is no longer this “the other thing and I.”

Notice what we are pointing out here. When there is this Truth of the Understanding of this Being, there is this Truth of ego-free action. This is Something possible, this is Something that is available to each of us when this sense of “me,” this “I” is no longer present, moving in this world of relationships with objects, people, places, and situations. To have a vision of oneself is to discard this sense of “I”. The Truth of approaching Meditation, True Meditation in an experiential way, makes this possible.

The purpose of our meetings is to investigate this with you. It's not simply a matter of intellectually following these speeches, but of working on it. Discovering this art of looking at oneself, seeing this sense of an “I” behind this thought, this feeling, this perception, this movement, this intention of action. Becoming aware of this “I”, this element that separates, that divides, that sets the experience apart from this experiencer, and that attends to this instant on the basis of this experiencer, of what comes from the past.

Realize how fascinating it is to understand this. This moment is a moment of pure experience, it doesn't require the presence of the experiencer, and yet we place this element that separates itself from this pure experience, from this instant that is new, unique, singular. We place this element that comes from the past, which is the “I”, the ego, the thinker, the experiencer. When this happens, we have this separation and there is this interval. That's why thought, intention and action arise. This is conflict. So, the action here, in this instant, is never fulfilled in a complete, unique way. There is always this incompleteness.

This limitation is the root of the conflict, the root of the contradiction, the root of the problem within action, so action is never complete, because the “I” element, the ego, is present. This experiencer element absorbs this instant, so what is here, now, new, unique, this new is absorbed by this old, which is the experiencer, the past.

So, attending to that instant in a real, true, complete way is something that becomes possible when the “I” is not there, so there is a direct, real experiencing; then, it's Life. Life is this action. That sense of separation is no longer present. Such life is a life in Love, in Compassion, within this vision of Reality, which is the Reality of God. Some call this Spiritual Awakening. It is the Awakening of this Being, of this Truth that we bring. Others call it Spiritual Enlightenment. The point is that What is You in Your Being is this action without any separation. Becoming aware of this Divine Reality, which is Reality here and now, this experiencing free from the experiencer, which is the “I,” the ego, this is the end of confusion, the end of disorder, the end of suffering.

That's our job here with you in the channel. For this purpose, we have online meetings here on weekends. You can find our WhatsApp link to take part in these meetings here in the video description. We also have face-to-face meetings and retreats. If this is something that makes sense to you, please leave a “like” and subscribe to the channel, ok? And leave a comment here: “Yes, it makes sense”. All right? And we'll see you. Thanks for the meeting and see you next time!

Joel Goldsmith | Living between two worlds | Actions born from thought | Master Gualberto

GC: Hello everyone! We're here for another videocast! Once again, Master Gualberto is here with us to answer your questions and also provide an in-depth understanding of what living in this Natural State, in this Awakened State, is all about. I'm going to read an excerpt from Joel Goldsmith's book called “Living between two worlds.” In this excerpt, Joel Goldsmith says the following: “If we are not careful, we will become trapped in the belief in temporal power, the power of numbers or the power of some human activity to do good, but, soon after, we will remember to open ourselves to Spiritual Grace instead of trying to figure out the rights and wrongs of any problem.” Can you tell us a little bit about this action?

MG: This issue of action is something that we also have to clearly investigate, what this pattern means, this model of action that we have. This is what we could call here “the activity of the ‘I’.” In general, our actions are these actions of this “I.” They are born from thought. Notice that our response to any situation that is appearing, to any challenge, this action is an activity, because it is being born from a reactive response of memory within us. Our actions are born from a reaction to this moment, based on this model of thinking that we have. Thus, our actions, before they happen, are present in this background of knowledge that we have, in this background of memory. So, in truth, our actions are born from thought.

The actions that are born from thought, because they are born from this background of memory reaction, are actions from a mistaken basis, which is the basis of that conditioned background that is the ego, that is the “I.” This explains why our actions are actions that produce problems, produce conflict, produce suffering. So, we are always acting from this illusory center, this false center, which is the “I,” the ego. There is an action of another order. So, let's look at this here.

Our action can be appropriate to the present moment or inappropriate to the present moment. What is an action inappropriate to the present moment? It is that action that will inevitably produce some type of suffering, some disorder. So, the confusion in the life of the “I,” the ego, arises from this quality of action. This quality of action is the activity of the “I.” This activity of the “I,” this activity of the ego in action, produces conflict. This action is an inappropriate action.

There is another quality of action that is present when there is the entire internal Order, Stillness, Peace, Silence, within each of us. It is that action that is born from this Awareness, this Consciousness, this Truth of Being. This is the appropriate action. In this quality of action, there is no conflict, there is no suffering, there is no problem! The type of action that we generally carry out in our model of life, in our pattern of living, which is based on this background of egoic identity, is the action that is all the time creating all kinds of confusion, all kinds of disorder in our lives; it is an inappropriate action.

Is an action free from this reaction possible, which is the conditioned reaction of the “I,” which is the conditioned reaction of the ego? An action that can simply appear in this moment as a perfectly adequate and complete response, without this background of conditioning? That's what we're interested in here. An ego-free life is a conflict-free life, because our action is not born from this conditioning.

We have all the time, Gilson, in our relationship with others, for example, an idea about who they are. We've been touching on this a lot: this idea that I have about you and that you have about me are ideas that I have as a projection about who you are and you have as a projection about who I am. When we are together in a relationship, this relationship shows itself, in this action, in this activity, as an inadequate action, an action that produces suffering.

So, for example, the fear that I have of you, the fear that the husband has of his wife, that the wife has of her husband, the fear that you have of your employees, the fear that you have of your boss, the fear that you have of the people around you, your relationship with yourself in fear – you are afraid of the past, you are afraid of the future, you have an internal, psychological life in fear –, this produces a quality of action in your relationship with others or with yourself that is inadequate. This is an example of ego action.

The actions that we know do not correspond, in a complete way, in an intelligent way, in a real way, at this moment, to this moment. So, we are always linked to this psychological condition of reaction, conditioned memory background; and here, in this example, what we have of the other, what we have of ourselves, which is producing this type of disorder and this life in fear, what we have are imaginary projections, created by thought and sustained by thought.

Our quality of life, in this model of action or activity, is that quality of egoic action that produces division, that produces contradiction, that produces, all the time, for us or for others, some form of problem, of conflict, of suffering. So, a free life, in this action, requires an action free from this background of conditioned memory, images, beliefs, and thoughts that are being constructed within this relationship.

So, our response, in sum, can be of two ways: either you have an action response, at this moment, for this moment, that is inadequate – which is the quality of action of the “I,” of ego, of this sense of being a present person, right now, separating yourself from life, separating yourself from the other, separating yourself from yourself – or we have an adequate action, free from this sense of egoic identity, the sense of separateness, this illusory sense, which is the “I,” the ego. Here, the invitation is for us to have an understanding of this internal movement within each one of us, which is the movement of memory, because, notice: our actions, because they are born from thought, are born from the past, which is memory. The problem with these actions that are born from the past, from thought, which is memory, is that they are just actions that are repeating themselves.

It's very interesting, Gilson, to understand that this moment requires action, because, at this moment, we are always facing something new. Every challenge in life, at this moment, is new, but we enter with this background of memory, which is the past, to try to adjust this past to this new challenge, to the new challenge of this moment. So, it's interesting for us to say this to you here: when you meet your wife, your husband or your boss, what you are having in that meeting is an opportunity for something new, but this meeting is always being established within this particular vision of ego, in a culture of the past, in a model of the past, because the ego is present producing this image, bringing this memory, bringing this past.

So, we spend thirty years in a relationship with someone, or forty years, or fifty years, and, in fact, we never meet the other. Everything we have of him or her is a projection we have of ourselves – about who we are, at first, and about who the other is. And why is that, Gilson? Because if you don't know the Truth about yourself, if what you have about yourself is a set of beliefs, images, and memories, how can you have anything else from others? So, everything you have of the other, too, is still a set of images, memories...

So, our life in the ego is a life where it is not present, within this so-called “life,” a relationship in free action. In the ego, we are enslaved to this condition of egoic activity, of egocentric activity. We could even say this here: an adequate action is a real action; an inappropriate action is a mere egoic activity. See, these are issues that we need to understand: how we behave, how we act, what our actions are like, what really happens in our relationships. That's why the emphasis is always on understanding the Truth, first, of who we are.

Not understanding the Truth about who we are places us in life, in a dreamlike condition, in a dream condition, in a condition of illusion, in a fantasy, which is this fantasy common to everyone, which is the fantasy of being someone, which is the fantasy of being alive, living and walking towards death. We confuse this body-mind in this model of life and existence, in this dream context, with the Truth of That which we are, with the Truth of That which, in reality, in us, is beyond all this model, which is the model of thought.

The beauty of these encounters here is that you are shown the opportunity for ego-free action, for complete, adequate action and therefore an action that is born from a dimension outside the known and therefore outside the dream. This quality of action is not personal. It is beyond the person; it is outside the limit of the identity of the “I.” That's it!

GC: Master, and how to develop or be able to have this real action, free from a sense of a present “I”?

MG: Here, it is about becoming aware of the illusion of this quality of action or this illusory action, which we are calling here “the activity of the ‘I’.” We cannot have an approach of an action free from this “I,” this ego, without first investigating what an action in this “I,” this ego represents.

Your question is very interesting, because we idealize an action without the ego, but… where does this idealization come from? Every idealization, every idea, can only be born from thought. This thought is already part of its known project. Therefore, if it is within its known project, all ideas come from that same background, which is conditioned thought.

The truth about thought, Gilson, is that thought is conditioned, it is already within a model of limitation, belief, conclusion, idea, planning… conditioned! We cannot approach an action free from the “I” with a plan, with a project, with an idea, with planning. This action is not born in this way, this quality of action is not born in this “I,” therefore it cannot be born in this project, in this plan, in this idea. It is not something that is born from thought, because thought is limited, it is within this known model, which is the model of the “I.” This Truth of the action free from the “I,” the ego, is the action free from thought!

We need thought on a certain level. To build a house, we need thought; to make use, here, of speech... this language is a recognizable language within the model of thought. So, thought is a practical, objective tool, for very simple, very basic purposes! Driving a car is the result of knowledge, of previous experience and, therefore, it is something within the known, the result of something learned. So, notice: everything around us, being within the known, is part of thought. So, thinking is something practical and objective, for very direct matters. Your home address is a thought, your name is a thought, knowing how to access a computer, that requires knowledge, which is thought...

The problem is that action, in our relationship with others...we also want to place thought within this, and then we are within the conditioning, the model of this conflicting thought, this egoic thought. So, our action, then, is this inadequate, conflicting action. The question is: what does an action free from thought represent in a relationship? This is possible to realize, but it is not possible, Gilson, for someone to do this, based on a plan, a project.

Here, it's about investigating the illusion of the image that I have about who you are and that I have about who I am. What I can do here is investigate myself and observe this movement of thought projecting itself towards this action in the relationship with the other or with myself, creating this separation: “I with myself,” “I with the other.” Becoming aware of this requires self-observation.

So, the real form of an approach to ego-free action, which is this action without conflict, which is the complete action, which is this adequate action, requires seeing oneself here and now, becoming aware of the movement of the “I,” of every word you use when you address someone, every gesture you make, what arises within, what quality of feeling arises when these words appear, what this background is, where it arises from... It is not about analyzing – listen! – it’s not about analyzing yourself. Here, it is about verifying the movement of thought, each and every thought, feeling, sensation, gestures, reactions, behavior... becoming aware of yourself in this moment, just becoming aware.

Here, it is not a matter – as we believe in the intellect – of imposing an action based on a principle of acquired knowledge. This has been a very common problem: doing good, doing what is right. But all this calculated, planned action, produced by thought, is still born from the ego, simply because it is born from this background, it is within this known, it is within this “I” programmed to do something.

The real action… in it, the “I” is not involved, the ego is not involved. It is an action free from this personal sense of the doer, the achiever, the one who is present making decisions to do this and not that other thing, or to get rid of doing that to do this other new thing. This whole model, see, Gilson, is still the model of the ego. This action arises spontaneously, naturally, when the ego is not there, and the ego is not there if it is observed. If this conditioning model is seen, the moment it is seen a real action already takes place, which is the action of breaking the continuity of this egoic identity, this illusory identity, then a new action, of a different order, appears, which is the action of Intelligence, which is the action of True Consciousness. There is no one involved in this.

The direct, experiential understanding of this is a fascinating subject. Theoretically, we cannot achieve what action without ideas is, because action without ideas is action free from thought. It is an action, Gilson, of a quality completely strange to the ego, because there is no objective, there is no purpose, there is no desire, there is no fear, there is no sense of winning or losing... This is the action of the quality of Love, of the Divine Presence, of the Truth of God.

GC: Master, within this topic, we have a question here from Ceci. She asks the following: “So, we don’t have to do anything?”

MG: Who is in this action? The “I,” the ego? That's it exactly! Because who is in this action? The truth about this, Gilson, is that there is an action, yes, but this action is the action free from the idea, free from belief, free from concept, free from opinion, free from will or determination of the discipline that the ego imposes on itself even to do something or not do something. There is an action, yes, here. Life requires action, action is necessary. The question is: who is this person who will be involved in this action? The action occurs in a free way, in a real way, when the sense of an “I,” of a present identity, in its self-interest, in its egocentrism, in its model of desire, will and fear, is not present.

So, here it is about getting closer to the truth of what is happening here and now. Becoming aware of this conditioning model – where an action happens from this center, which is the “I,” the ego –, becoming aware of this already brings, naturally, the Truth of action, so there is no separation in action. So, it’s not about this “I” doing it, there’s action happening.

This moment, Gilson, is so unique that an adequate response to this moment requires the presence of the action of Consciousness itself, and, in this quality of action, there is no “I” that does, there is no doer doing something. The whole difficulty here – notice – is that we have a conditioned model of thinking about action. For us, there has to be someone involved in the action. And it's true! For this ego sense, every action it takes is the reaction of this background, which is based on an experiencer always strengthening his experience. It's the ego maintaining its continuity!

Here, we are signaling something else, Gilson. We are talking about an ego-free life, and, therefore, free from this author of actions; a life that represents a whole action! There is this action, but there is no one in that action. History records the lives of sages as a life of full action. However, no sense of egoic identity is present in this movement of action, because it is only the action free from the author of actions. The Divine Truth is the Truth of your Being. So, there is an action, but there is no “I,” the ego, the author of actions. This is the Freedom of Being, Consciousness, Bliss… and Action!

GC: Master, gratitude, gratitude. We have come to the end. Thank you for this videocast. For those of you watching the video: leave a comment, leave a “like” ... this helps YouTube recognize that the content is relevant. And here's the invitation: in the first comment, pinned, is the link to the WhatsApp group with information about the Satsangs, which are the intensive weekend meetings with Master Gualberto, where it is possible to investigate this real action in depth. And, in this sharing of the Master's Presence, receiving, experiencing, and understanding what this really is. Gratitude, Master.

MG: Okay, guys. See you soon.

Self-awareness: the action free from ego. Spiritual Awakening. God Realization. The conditioned Mind

It is very important for us to approach life within the understanding of what it represents. Note that life happens as an event or action at every moment. We encounter life at every moment, and life is action. So, everything we see, everything we perceive, everything we feel, our entire life experience represents actions happening, events emerging.

Life is action. Right now, speaking here is an action. Life consists of a movement of actions. There is no way to escape being in this action, which is the action of life. I have given this example here: when you wake up in the morning, get out of bed, this is an action; but while you were lying in bed, the body was moving too, that is action. While it slept, it had a moment of deep sleep, but it had moments of dreaming; In this dream, action was happening. So, life is action.

We want to discover in life what action in Happiness is, action in Freedom, action in the completeness of Being, and that is what we are working on here, signaling to you, making it clear to you: the possibility of an action of this nature, of this quality, which carries this vitality, the vitality of Love, Compassion, Happiness, and Peace.

We need to discover Life, Life in Peace. This requires real action, true action of Life itself happening. This requires a quality of action that we are unaware of, because our actions in this center, which is the “I,” the ego, are conflicting actions. So, our actions are discordant, they are disharmonious, they are contradictory, they are violent, they are actions that produce suffering for us and for others. And we want, in the midst of all this, to discover what a loving, happy, peaceful, true life is.

The whole issue here, the problem that arises is that we are not aware of how we work. Because we are not aware of this, we do not realize that life has a movement. And we are, in this ego, in this person we believe ourselves to be, as this personal entity we see ourselves, in conflict with the movement of life itself.

Will there be a possibility of another type of action? An action that is born from a dimension entirely unknown to the conditioned mind, programmed, in ambition, in envy, in fear, in violence, in contradiction, in conflict? Is there another order of action that is free from this mind, which is the mind known by all of us, which is the mind of the person, that can be free from the egoic mind, this psychological conditioning, this contradictory movement?

Notice how contradictory we are in our movement, in our action. Thinking is an action. Observe your thoughts and you will notice: they are restless, they are chatty, they are arguing inside your head. One thought says “yes,” another says “no,” and there is another that says “it could be” or “maybe.”

So, notice the psychological contradiction within us, the weight that the past, memory, and remembrance represent, the weight of self-accusation, regret, and guilt. All of these are internal states within each of us, and this is a movement of psychological action, an action that occurs in that time, which is the time itself created by thought, which here I have called psychological time.

In this movement, the “I,” the ego is moving between past, present, and future. So, we are under this illusion of a life based on a thought-time model that only exists in this ideological construct. What is the truth of this “I,” this ego? What is the truth about you? Realize what thought is producing: this internal contradiction. So, we have an external action in contradiction, because we do things that we later disapprove of and feel guilty for having done. So, there is the impulse to do it, there is the doing and then the guilt of having done it, or there is the impulse to do it and the fear of making a mistake. And the question is: how to act? How to act calmly? How to act under pressure? How to act correctly? How to do the right thing?

So, there is a contradiction in action, there is a psychological contradiction, the contradiction of thought – which is also psychological action –, the contradiction in feeling. I say “I love you” because I feel like I love you, because you make me happy, because you fulfill me, because you satisfy me at that given moment. But, in the next moment, I'm not feeling “I love you,” I'm feeling angry at you, I want to move away from you because you don't fulfill my expectations, my interests, my desires, you're denying me this or that physical, emotional, sentimental, sexual pleasure or of some other order. So, there is a contradiction in action, in this action of feeling, in this action of thought, in this physical action.

We don't know what it is to act, because our action is the action of the “I,” the ego. Life is action, but in Life there is not this element that is the “I,” the ego, so there is no conflict, there is no contradiction, there is no suffering. Life as It expresses itself in the way It moves. Your particular view of what happens in existence is the particular view of the “I,” the ego. You are always seeing things right and wrong because of internal states of self-interest. In this ego, where there is this “liking” and “disliking,” self-interest is present, as well as interpretation, judgment, judgment, and evaluations, all of this is present.

So, is a life free of this ego and, therefore, a life in this action, which is the action of life itself, possible? When does this ego appear? Let's investigate this. This ego arises when intention, will, and desire arise. Then, an idea comes – the will, the desire, the intention –, and to put this idea into action we have the presence of this sense of “I,” which is the ego, the agent. So, notice how simple this is. The presence of the author of the action, the agent, the “I,” the ego in the action, be it physical, mental, sentimental, emotional, this requires the presence of desire or will, intention, plan, which is the very thought behind that idea, and then comes the action. So, this is how we've been moving, how we've been moving in action, in life.

So, there is Life as It is, placing challenges before each of us, because at all times we are being asked for this action, which is the action of Life itself, and we are responding to this action based on this desire, plan, which is idea, and action. We are always responding to the challenge of Life from the “I,” from this agent, from this ego. Is there an action – this is the question we are insisting on here –, will it be possible to have an action free from the ego and therefore free from the agent, and that is free from this will, this desire, this plan, which is thought, idea? Is there an action free of the “I”?

When we approach the Truth of Self-awareness, in Self-awareness, there is the action free from the ego The only real action in life is not the particular action of the life of the “I,” which is the action of this agent, which is the action of this ego, but the action of Intelligence. This action is born from the Reality beyond the mind, beyond this “I,” this person, this center, this illusory center with its so habitual, egocentric, so common movement of egoic activity, so accustomed to produce conflict, to produce suffering, within of this movement of contradiction. Are we together?

Here, our emphasis is on the Awakening of Real Consciousness, on True Spiritual Awakening. When there is this Spiritual Awakening, we have the presence of an action that is Intelligence. There is no interval between this action and this Being, which is You in your Being. There is no presence of the “I,” the ego, the agent. So, we are touching here on an action free of time, this time created by thought, this psychological time created by idea. So, there is no longer this element that comes from the past.

Notice how interesting this is: our actions are born from a plan; this plan is the idea, and this idea is present because the past is present, so there's this will, this desire, there is the presence of this psychological time, which is the idea. This is the intention that comes from the past due to this ego-experiencer, this ego that has projects and sets itself to act. So, our action in the ego, this action in the ego is always the action that comes from the past.

Here we are working with you on the action free from the ego and therefore free from the past, free from this sense of “I,” so there is a new – listen – way of acting, there is a new form of action. It is no longer the action of the ego, it is the action of this Intelligence, this Presence, this Divine Reality that is the Reality of God.

So, when we talk here about Spiritual Awakening, God Realization, Spiritual Enlightenment, we are talking about the expression of this Being that we are, in this action that is Intelligence, the action of Compassion, the action of Love, the action of Harmony, the action of Freedom. When this action is present, whatever is arising, appearing, happening, all of it is within this Divine Truth of God's action, all of that is within this Divine Reality.

So, our work here is to approach this study of ourselves and therefore assume this Truth of Real action free from this sense of ego, therefore, free from the past. Then, Something in a very natural way appears, in a very spontaneous way: the action of Life itself, the action without the sense of “someone” present.

We here are putting to you something that is outside of the known, outside of the movement of thought and, therefore, something outside of ideas, of beliefs, of all imagination possible for thought. Something possible for this Life, which is the Life of God, which is the Life of your Being.

Our meeting here aims to realize, in this life, the Truth that we are, to live this Happiness, which is the nature of God, which is the nature of each one of us. The only Reality present is the Divine Reality. As long as this is not assumed, all kinds of disorder, confusion, and suffering will continue to be present in this particular life of the ego, in this particular personal life. For this purpose, we have online meetings here on weekends. You can find our WhatsApp link here in the video description to join and participate in these meetings. In addition, we have face-to-face meetings and also retreats, where we are deepening this so that, in this life, we can realize the Truth of God. Here's the invitation. If this is something that makes sense to you, please leave a “like,” subscribe to the channel, and we will see each other, ok? See you soon!

Spiritual Awakening. Action free of the ego. Life free from the ego. The individual consciousness

The point here is: what is the nature of our actions? What is a free action? The one that corresponds to and responds to this moment in a way so complete, integral, and real that it no longer produces suffering, neither for you nor for others. Here on the channel, we are talking about the Beauty of Compassion, the Truth that is the expression of this Being we are when the sense of “I,” the ego, is no longer present.

So, we are here pointing out, signaling, making known to you, the possibility of an action free of the ego, showing you that there is, indeed, the possibility of an action free of this sense of “I,” the person, the individual consciousness, as you believe you are, as you believe you have, in this illusion of being someone present.

Notice that our actions are contradictory; they produce suffering and arise from a background within us of unconsciousness, of an egoic pattern. So, there is no Love, no Peace in our relationships, no Freedom in our actions, because they are born from this “I,” this ego.

Here on the channel, we tell you there is, indeed, this possibility of Spiritual Awakening and the Flourishing of this Natural Intelligence. I prefer to call it Real Intelligence. When this Real Intelligence, the Truth of your Being, blossoms, an action of another quality emerges; so, let's investigate with you in the next few minutes why our actions produce suffering in the world. Notice that we are overwhelmed with problems. In the world, as human beings, in this sense, we are not different from the world around us. In fact, this world around us is ourselves, and when we look at the world, we see all the problems in the world present within us. So, human beings carry problems of different types. The various areas of our lives are full of problems. We have political, economic, health, religious, and relationship problems... we have problems in dealing with ourselves and naturally with others... So, our actions do not carry this scent of Natural or Real Intelligence. Thus, this Real Intelligence is not present in our relationships. Then, problems are present: political and economic, problems of relationships with others, ourselves, relating to life…

We yearn for Peace, Freedom, and Love, but we use these words without understanding their true meaning. If our relationship with each other is, in a certain way, peaceful because we are adjusting in terms of opinions, ideas, and beliefs – we are not in frontal, noticeable, visible disagreement; we call this relationship “peace.” So, for us, it is actually an agreement. We are in peace of agreement; thus, in a mutual arrangement, we are at “peace,” we have this so-called “love”: “I love you if you love me. I like you if you like me. I accept you if you accept me.” Regarding the issue of Freedom, our relationship with each other, of friendship, is an agreement. If there is an adjustment in this relationship, we are at “peace,” at “love,” at “freedom” with each other. So, it is all about agreement.

As our actions are born from this center – the “I,” the ego, there is no Presence of Real Intelligence, of the Truth of Love, Freedom, and Peace. So, there is no Freedom, Love, and Peace, no absence of problems. We, here, are signaling the Beauty, the Importance of a life where there is an action born out of this Freedom. An action free of the “I”: notice how important this is because our life consists of actions performed, taken, and actions happening, and as these actions are present in our relationships, there is no way for us to escape these relationships and, therefore, there is no way to distance ourselves from action. Therefore, if there is not this Freedom, this Truth, this Beauty of acting free from the ego, our relationships will naturally always produce this or that form of contradiction, this or that problem. So, there will always be conflict, dilemmas, and trouble.

So, let's find out where these actions come from and what is the dimension from which these actions originate. Why do they produce suffering and conflict? Why in them do we lack Real Peace, Freedom, and Love? Notice that our actions are born from our internal predispositions and our thoughts. First of all, let's understand it – I want to go over this here – our actions in the world are inevitable. Life is a movement of action: speaking here is an action; being with you is impossible without action; dealing with life situations is the presence of action; thought is action; feeling is action; emotion is action; listening to you talking, talking to you, working on it, all requires actions. Action is present in our lives, in all areas, in all spheres of our lives. The question is: where do these actions come from? What is the dimension from which they are emerging?

Notice that every action in you is born from an internal disposition of thought, feeling, emotion, perception, sensation... So, this action is born from an experience. Thus, this experience is, by nature, the result of something you have already experienced and recorded. Therefore, this record, which is this experience expressing itself here and now, at this moment, is born from this background. This background is the “I,” the person, the experiencer. So, what is the dimension from which our actions originate? They are born from this background, which is the “I,” the experiencer, the person. Is there another quality of action possible for our relationships with others, ourselves, and the world? Is there a quality of action that can be born, that can emerge, from another dimension, other than this one of experience, from the one who went through a specific situation and recorded that?

Thought in us is the presence of memory. Action in us is the presence of this experiencer, which is memory, expressing itself in speaking, listening, and “relating.” Is there a quality of action of another order? As long as our actions are, at this moment, just the representation – notice this – just the repetition of a pattern of a programming that comes from this experiencer and therefore from the past; as long as our actions at this moment are just an adjustment, a representation, a correspondence to this moment based on this past, this action will be an action that comes from the past and therefore an action that does not represent the Freedom of this present moment, of the challenge to this instant. So, this quality of action is a prisoner of time, a prisoner of the past. This past is the experiencer. This experiencer is this sense of “I” present here, at this moment. In this contact with you, I have your face, your name... So, from a practical and objective viewpoint, I need this recognition, this memory, but only in this simple contact within this model of knowledge, of memory objective and functional. But our actions are all based on this: liking you, disliking you, being in agreement with you or disagreeing with you, accepting you or rejecting you… my opinions are different from your opinions. At this level, our actions are conflicting. On an objective and practical level, knowing your name, recognizing your face, and having contact with you practically and objectively are very simple.

So, at this level, this action is objective – but we also have another quality of action, which is the one born out of this psychological background, which is the “I,” the ego, which has as its principle “ like” or “dislike,” “accept” or “reject” your ideas, or impose mine. Therefore, a quality of action is present that separates, divides, and has as its principle the identity of the “I,” the ego. In that sense, I am separate from you. My beliefs, ideas, concepts, and judgment are much more valuable and relevant; my consideration is something very significant to me. In this sense, I don’t care about anything other than this “I” that I believe I am. So, at this level of action, we have conflict, the absence of the Truth of Love, the Truth of Peace, and the Truth of Freedom. Then, will it be possible to have a life free from the ego, from the “I” and, therefore, an action free from this particular center, “I,” this person I believe I am, so that, in this relationship with the other, with life, with myself, with the world, there is no more conflict? This quality of action is the action that is born from this Real Intelligence, this Natural Intelligence. So, when this Natural, Real Intelligence is present, we have an action free of the ego, of the “I.” This action does not come from this dimension, which is of the known, of the experiencer, of this center, which is the ego.

So, this is what we are dealing with here, with you, within the channel, showing you that it is possible, indeed, a life where there is this Real Intelligence free from problems. That is our work here, with you, in the channel. For this purpose, we have online meetings, which take place on weekends. The WhatsApp link for these meetings is here in the video description. We also have face-to-face meetings and retreats. Thus, we are investigating the Reality of this Being we are, this Divine Truth we bring. Then, if this makes sense to you, please leave a “like” and subscribe to the channel, ok? And see you! Thanks for the meeting, and until next time.
