The nature of the ego. The end of psychological unhappiness. Real Consciousness. Egoic consciousness

Our purpose here, always, on this channel, within these meetings, is to investigate the nature of the “I,” the ego, because our goal is to discover the Truth about ourselves, about who we are. We cannot have a vision of the Truth about life, the other, the world, and God, without first understanding the Truth about who we are, and this is what we are doing here on the channel; we are studying ourselves, investigating ourselves. We need to become aware of what is happening internally, within each of us, concerning life, others, and the world. Without first understanding who we are, we cannot comprehend the Truth of God. It matters to say it because there is this search within us; yes, there is this quest in us.

For millennia, human beings have been looking for something outside this common pattern of life. And what pattern is this? The one we know, where what is continually present guiding our lives is the search for pleasure, satisfaction, achievement, and fulfillment, always on a personal level. Bored as we are with our life, full of sadness, bitterness, problems, difficulties, fears, and various conflicts regarding desires, we are looking for something. However, our search for these external things to bring us this fulfillment has already proved insufficient. This search for something outside to give us this internal completeness has proved unsatisfactory. Thus, human beings are looking for something outside that ordinary model or pattern, which has guided most people’s lives. That’s man’s search for Truth or God.

We call it God, Truth, That which is beyond this condition we know; however, we have projected what This represents, means, which is where we have failed. In this journey, we have become religious people, yet, what the official religion has given us – here, I mean this pattern of organized religion – is just more of what we still know because we are constantly dealing with beliefs, theories, and concepts about Truth, about God. So, our search, our quest is what thought in us has been projecting. All of this revolves now, in fact, around dogmas, precepts, doctrines, and religious thoughts based on the Holy Books – Bible, Koran, Bhagavad Gita, Vedas, Tao Te Ching, and several other books that deal with or point to something outside this life condition. But what we have in these books are letters, written thoughts, ideas, concepts, pictures, images, and beliefs. If we are willing to discover something beyond this condition our lives have become, which is this pattern common to all, if there is something in us looking for something outside this, we have to find it outside the known, outside this model.

The point is that we cannot find This; we can acknowledge the Truth of This; that is the first aspect. You can't find what you do not know. You project, idealize, and imagine; you go in search of, and whatever you find, if you find it, it will be within the known; if you find it, you recognize it, and if you do it, you are still within what is known, projected, idealized, and imagined by yourself. So, that’s the first point, we cannot find This, and if we find something, it won't be that Reality, that is God, that is Truth, because that will still be within what is known, within what we know, and it is something that will fit our beliefs, our ideas – do you get that? –, our images, which we already carry within, something within the known.

So, this is the first point here. Consequently, if there is something to reveal, to show, it will not be to this “me,” to this “I.” It will be something completely new, outside the known and, therefore, outside our ideas, beliefs, and projections. Then, this is the first thing: you do not find This, that Reality finds you, but when It finds you, that encounter is something fatal for the “I,” that “me.” Thus, the first thing we have to understand here is that there is no way to seek This; however, there is a way to be found by This and, here, to be found by This since it has already become clear that our entire movement of search is still the starting from ideological, credulous principles, from beliefs, once this is understood when we leave this aside, we have the opportunity to start investigating how it becomes possible. It seems to me that this is one of our great difficulties.

When we put this here, the first reaction of this sense of person we have, amid all this psychological formation we bring from learned things – and here learned things are ones kept intellectually, and that the mind has assumed as being the truth, the reality and what we can really trust –, the great difficulty is to see that this is something completely absurd. All this cultural, educational heritage, all this learned stuff, and here I want to include not only all this religious learning but also all forms of philosophical, political, human culture, and tradition learnings; here, I refer to the type of information in us that gives psychological conditioning. Here, we do not deny the importance of science, of all the great human discoveries in terms of improvement for this human “well-being.” We do not deny this so-called “evolution” in this human, scientific, technological aspect; we are, indeed, speaking of this psychological culture of conditioning that makes us believe and trust what only reinforces this sense of egoic identity in us. We need to investigate all this. In general, people do not want to do this; they are too comfortable with it, and the process of this seek, this search for God, for the Truth, still has as its principle this background of psychological conditioning, this response pattern always from this background of experience, knowledge, memory, and everything that has been learned over all these years, which is just cultural, philosophical, spiritual, religious, and political conditioning. These have given us a quite heavy egoic structure, very well established. So, here we come to the second point, which I think is of fundamental importance for each of us.

If we are in this search for the Truth, which represents the end of psychological unhappiness, the end of psychological suffering, the end of this “I,” this ego-identity, we need to find the Truth of God or the Truth that Is God, but that is not something you reach, find in that sense. It is Something that finds you, reaches you. So, your finding is about Grace, the Unknown, finding you. Here, this second aspect, now, is fundamental; it is the most important. But we have already cleared that first aspect; we have already understood that as long as that sense of “I” is established within and the pattern of beliefs and psychological conditioning remain, there will be no possibility. We need a new mind, a new brain, an entirely new body-mind structure, a structure able to perceive this Reality, assume this Reality, the Truth of this Revelation. And what is the second aspect now?

The second aspect is the study of ourselves, the investigation of who we are. It becomes fundamental to discard this ego-identity, the sense of “I,” of the ego, as well as the illusion of this person we believe to be; the sense of “someone” present in this relationship with the world, the other, life, and ourselves. Notice how interesting it is when we use the expression “relationship with ourselves,” as if there were two; an “I” to have a relationship with ourselves,” there are two in you. What does a relationship with yourself mean? Relationship presupposes two, this “two” is exactly the sense of contradiction in which the ego lives because, in the ego, we are, in fact, not just two, we are an inner multitude since we have different conditionings, beliefs, opinions, certainties, and conclusions; and all this is internally under discussion.

We live with many thoughts and voices within; this is the pattern of thinking, the contradictory pattern of the “I.” That “I” feels one thing, thinks something else, and does another thing. This is contradiction. It is as if there were several “I’s” in us because there are several ideas, some that agree and others that disagree; there are several ideas, and they are divergent; sometimes, they fight with each other; you feel, think, and do in a contradictory way, that is the sense of “I.” Thus, the understanding of this “I,” this relationship with life, with the world, this idea of this “me,” this “I” in contradiction with itself, all of this needs to be investigated.

Thus, this contact with the Divine Reality, which is with the Reality of God, of Truth, is the end of the “I.” It is not “someone” having an encounter with God; it is the Reality of God taking over that space. The Reality of your Being is not that truth you are, in that “appearing to be,” “demonstrating to be,” and “feeling to be,” that you have about yourself. Here, I refer to the Reality of this Being-Consciousness-Bliss. The Truth, according to the Sages, those who had this Revelation or live It, who perceive this Reality or who in other times were, also, in a physical form, sharing this; the vision is always the same, the Nature of Reality, which is the Nature of God, is the Nature of your Being; and that Being is Happiness, Consciousness. It is not this happiness the ego knows, this sense of “I” of the person knows; it is the Reality of Happiness, What is beyond the known. It is not the consciousness we know. This “being conscious” is where we evaluate, judge, compare, where we name, accept, and reject what happens to us. This is the consciousness of the “I,” the ego. We are talking about Real Consciousness, What transcends the illusion of this consciousness of the “I,” this egoic consciousness. Thus, the Truth of the Revelation of God is at the end of the illusion of this “I.”

Our proposal here on the channel is to work to end this illusion, the deconstruction of this belief about this “me,” about this “I,” the realization that there is a present Reality and this Reality is outside the model of the known, that is, outside this pattern of envy, jealousy, violence, beliefs, hope, hopelessness, pleasure, and pain, this whole psychological model of existence where there is anxiety, depression, anguish, boredom, and the pain of loneliness. These few aspects I have just mentioned and the countless aspects of this ego-identity, of statements, representations, and samples of psychological unhappiness, we are always trying to get rid of all of this. We want to get rid of the suffering that all of this represents; we want to get rid of the fear that represents all of this, that sustains all of this, but that “want,” that will, this volition is still of the “I,” of the ego. Thus, we are in this approach to Self-Awareness to discover the art of unlearning this sense of the “I,” of the “me” and to find out what the art of learning is at this instant, at this moment, to see this active learning, bringing the awareness of life as it is and going beyond this condition of what life, today, appears to be in this sense of ego-identity, of illusory identity. Do you follow that?

Our work here consists of looking at ourselves, becoming aware that there is Something here and now outside the “I.” This is our work together here on the channel, in online, face-to-face meetings, and retreats where we work on that with you. The Truth of this Revelation is the end of the illusion of “I,” what some people call the Awakening of Consciousness or Spiritual Enlightenment.

If this makes sense, leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. We have our WhatsApp group in the video description, ok? If this makes sense, join our group and approach Satsang. Working this, in this life, is the only thing that really matters. Ok?

Here is the message and the invitation. Thanks for the meeting, and see you!

Mandukya Upanishad: the four states of consciousness | New Consciousness | The State of Turiya

The question is: is a life free from all suffering possible? A life where there is this Real Presence of Peace, Freedom, Happiness, and Love?

So, only asking “Who are you” or “Who am I” is still very, very vague. Here, I want to invite you to investigate the nature of the “I,” this “you” as you see yourself, but this requires you to understand, first of all, the nature of this feeling and thinking you have. Have you noticed your thoughts are not original? There are no authentic thoughts, and here I refer to common thinking of living, not to the creative one, which is another matter; here I refer to this thinking of living, in this living.

We are a set of memories, psychologically speaking, of ideas, concepts, memories, recollections, political, philosophical, and religious positions making a set of beliefs; we have this structure formed, the constitution of the “I.” Everything we talk about is based on theories, ideas, concepts, and thoughts, and there is nothing original about it. We are the result of the culture where we were born, the education we received, and the propaganda we are exposed to. So, these thoughts in us are all the result of cultural, social, and educational conditioning, and this gives this formation, which is the formation of the “I.” Thus, this person you believe to be is just a set of memories, ideas, remembrances, conclusions, evaluations, concepts, prejudices, and beliefs; your name is something given and taught you; you are not that name, you are not that set of memories, remembrances, and recollections either.

All this conditioning, this programming, this whole program of being “someone,” moving as “someone” in the world, is something based on this pattern, this conditioning. That present sense of “I” is that. So, when you say “I,” you refer to a set of memories and remembrances. When you speak, you do it from what you’ve heard, read, learned, studied, saved, and recorded. Here, we work with you to end this illusion of the individuality you believe you have and are, the illusion of that individual. There is no such thing as an individual; there is this illusion of individuality.

Our consciousness is the consciousness of that “I,” and that consciousness of the “I” has no reality outside that context because whatever you call consciousness is simply being aware. You can only be conscious of what you identify, and you can only name what you know, and that is part of the conditioning, the set of memories and remembrances. That is not you, and that consciousness is not your consciousness; it is the consciousness of humanity, the consciousness of culture, the human consciousness. So, this truth of individuality does not exist, but rather the illusion of thinking about this individuality. You see yourself as an individual and separate entity, although only from a physical viewpoint that this separateness exists, because, psychologically, you are the whole culture, every human being around you, and you carry everything that everybody does; there is no difference. Thus, there is nothing really singular, unique, particular, or individual.

It’s interesting when people talk to us about the problems they are experiencing, see that we work like this: when talking about our problems, we particularize these problems as if there were really particular problems. Every problem you have is just a human problem; the only particularization is that it is linked or connected to this body-mind; however, your problem is the human problem; the present fear, anxiety, envy, jealousy, ambition, and concern, all these are human problems. They are private because of this particular body-mind experience, but the problem is human. It’s not that person’s problem; it is that person who particularizes the problem because of that singularity, that particular experience of that “I.” Here lies the illusion; we carry the illusion of an “I” and that “I” has problems; it is naturally the problem of humanity, it is everyone’s problem, but it is particularizing it for this body-mind.

I want to invite you to the end of this “I” and, therefore, to the end of this human problem. The ego, the “I,” is the only problem present, particularizing personal issues for this body-mind. Is that clear? Or are you a bit confused? Once free from this sense of the “I,” this ego, once free from this cultural conditioning where problems exist, you will be free from complications because these problems consist of the illusion of being “somebody,” seeing yourself as “somebody,” of positioning oneself culturally, socially, psychologically, as “someone” in the world.

The work of the Awakening of Consciousness is the Awakening to a new Consciousness. So, what we call “being conscious” or this consciousness of the “I” is this set of conditioning, of psychological programming we carry; this is what I have been calling psychological conditioning, the conditioning of the “I” in this consciousness of the “I.” The Real work consists of the Awakening of the Truth about your Being, which is the Real, the new, and the True Consciousness. If It flourishes, problem ends, and here I used the expression “problem ends” and no longer “problems end,” because these “problems,” in the plural, are problems that exist in this single problem, this single problem that is the “I,” which is the sense of a separate identity living within this psychological structure of cultural and psychological conditioning. Then, the end of this problem, which is the “I” problem, is the Realization of God, Spiritual Enlightenment, the Awakening of Consciousness, or Spiritual Awakening. It has many names; I have called it the Natural State, the State Free from this illusion of “someone” present, here and now, in living. It is evident that, for this to become possible, we all need to work in this direction, and this work is on that psychological deconditioning, on the deprogramming of this psychological condition of thinking and feeling.

This mental consciousness, this consciousness of the “I,” of the ego is what we have called consciousness, all this content that some call conscious and unconscious is part of the content of this consciousness of the “I.” This consciousness is not the Reality, not the Truth; it is what is shown, what presents itself as being the truth, the reality, what we know. When we look at the world, the world is living within this programming, this psychological conditioning, this “I” consciousness. I have compared this consciousness of “I” to the dream state we have at night. Notice that while you dream at night, everything that happens in the dream is very real, until you wake up, then you realize that it was a dream, none of that was real, but while the dream was happening, you rarely become aware that it is a dream because, in general, oneiric consciousness is the consciousness that the dream is the reality of that instant, of that moment; that world, that experience, that “me” is real, and only when you wake up, when you open your eyes and realize you are in bed, only then it becomes clear that all that world and all that presence of “someone” there, which was this “I,” was just part of an imagination, of a mental construct. Then, all that was a mental world, all those experiences were mental and that “I” was also part of the mind, all of this was part of a movement of thoughts unfolding with sounds, colors, shapes, and names: the world of the dream.

What we call “life” here and now, actually, in the consciousness of the “I,” is also a dream; this here is a dream. All kinds of things are happening here; all experiences are happening here. There are feelings, actions, and sensations here. There is a whole movement of feeling, thinking, doing, and undoing; here, we have birth, old age, illness, marriage, children, a family, success, and failure. What we call “consciousness of the world” is this consciousness of the “I,” and this, here, is a dream. We do not realize this is a dream because we don’t awaken. We have it here as something very real, good and bad things; the good ones please us, we seek them, we feel happy with them; and the bad ones displease us, we try to get away from them, they make us sad and unhappy creatures. The “being happy” or “unhappy,” “being well” or “bad” within this context of this life, which is the life common to everyone, is taking place within a dream, but we do not realize that because we have no “where” to wake up from. From a dream at night, we have a “where” to wake up from, and we do it and realize it was a dream, but what about this one? Unless you awaken, you never see this here as a dream because it is very, very, very real for this context of the consciousness of the “I.” This, here, is as real as that context of the consciousness of the dream.

Here, unless you wake up, you will never know that it is a dream, and here our job is to invite you to Awaken, to the Awakening of Consciousness because what we have here is not really consciousness; here, we have the consciousness of the “I,” mental consciousness, another type, another quality of dreaming; the Sages have been declaring this for millennia in India; Mandukya Upanishad says the following about the “four states.” What four states are these? We know three of them. All this happens because we are sleeping. Three states are well known to all of us: the vigil, dream, and deep sleep states. But there is a fourth state which is unknown but clearly known by the Sages, by those who have realized God, who are actually experiencing this Awakening of Consciousness – Mandukya Upanishad deals with it: the four possible states.

The psychological conditioning we carry, all this programming of being “someone” within the human experience occurs because of this sleep state we are in; so in this dream state we do not realize that we are sleeping, but we are. In the vigil state, we do not perceive we are asleep, but we are. And in the state of deep sleep, there is no awareness of dreaming, of the vigil state, nor of sleep. These are the three states we know: vigil, dreaming, and deep sleep, and in these three states, the condition of the consciousness of the “I” of this human consciousness – which I also call egoic consciousness – is the consciousness of the ego, the state of sleep. It is like I have already told you: from the dream state you can wake up to the vigil state and realize that it was a dream, but from the vigil state unless you really awake to the Turiya State, which is your Natural State of Being-Consciousness-Bliss, you will never know you are asleep. You may even have a belief about it, and we must say this here: it is no use reading the Mandukya Upanishad, the entire Vedas, or all the Scriptures because that is at the intellectual level; you have to experience It. People greatly appreciate reading and listening to Sacred Books, but we need to live This, that Reality, to directly experience the Reality of What is your Being.

The State of Turiya is the fourth possible state, the State of the one who is Awake; so it is not the vigil, not the dream, nor is it the deep sleep state; it is the Awakened State. The fourth state is something possible for each of us in this life, in this existence. The presence of the Reality of your Being is the end of that consciousness which is the consciousness of the “I,” that conditioned consciousness, which is that consciousness, in reality, of complete unawareness of Truth – what I have also called unconsciousness.

So, what we call “consciousness” or “being conscious” is unconsciousness, this sleep state which occurs to us in deep sleep, in the vigil state, and the dream state. The Truth of your Being is in this Full Consciousness, Real Consciousness, the Consciousness of Being. The Truth of your Being is that fourth state beyond vigil, dreaming, and deep sleep. This State is Love, Happiness, Freedom, Presence, Intelligence, the Divine Truth free from this psychological time, from all this oneiric condition of the vigil state and the dream state, and beyond this condition of sleep, as it happens to us in the vigil, dream, and deep sleep. That is the State of Turiya, your Natural State of Being, straight from the vision of the Sages living This. This speech, like the Scriptures, is something to live and not theorize or intellectualize, simply placing it as more intellectual or verbal knowledge. Then, that Reality establishes itself as the Truth of your Being, here and now. That is Spiritual Enlightenment, the Realization of God, the Realization of your Being; thus, What is present is Love, Peace, Freedom, and Happiness, the recognition of the Truth of What you are, of this Divine Truth you Are and bring.

Now, you must understand that theoretical aspects are theoretical. Here, sometimes, I have quoted the Vedas or the Upanishads, expressions of Christ, of Buddha; here, I have cited, as I am doing now, the Vedas, but this is a purely theoretical aspect. You can read the Vedas and intellectually believe that you know about the four states now; this is not real; it is intellectual, verbal, and theoretical. Books and theory cannot give you That; the only contact with True Meditation in practice can show you the Truth of This, the Truth of your Natural State of Being-Consciousness-Bliss, which is the State of Turiya. So, it’s not about reading the Upanishads or studying the Scriptures; it’s about, as I have always said, studying yourself, observing the illusory nature of this “I” moving in this world of psychological conditioning and programming, only then is the end for this dream, for this sleep, for this illusion, possible.

So, what we have in the Scriptures, in the Mandukya Upanishad, these four states, is something that when you Realize your Being, you are aware of what the Scriptures are about, not theoretically, verbally, intellectually, but experientially. Your Natural State of Being is beyond sleep; it is when you are in the truth, Awake, aware of the Truth because you are that Truth, that living Scripture, which is the Reality of your Being.

We have several playlists here on our channel, one of them is about this approach to the True Meditation in a practical way; this is what puts you in front of the Truth of your Being, the Revelation of What you are in your Natural State, which is the State of Turiya, your State of Pure Consciousness, of Presence and Reality.

This is our subject here on the channel. If this is something that makes sense to you, leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. We have online, face-to-face meetings, and also retreats where we work on this with those who approach. In the video description is our WhatsApp group for these meetings, including online ones.

If that’s something that makes sense to you, see you again, okay? Thanks for the meeting, and see you!

Mindfulness, True Meditation. Mindfulness, Guided Meditation. What is the nature of consciousness?

Here, it seems that the most important thing for each of us is to discover what we call “consciousness.” After all, what is consciousness? For us, to be conscious is to be living in that consciousness. However, the question is: what is the structure of this consciousness? What is the formation of this consciousness? What is the nature of this consciousness? So, the subject here is to discover how we function and what we mean by “being conscious” or “living in that consciousness.” Of what is this consciousness made, what is it composed of? Why is it important? Because our actions are all born of this consciousness, and it is the result of a whole formation, a formation of society, the world, and culture. What we call “being conscious” is being conscious of something. What is interesting here is the understanding that if I am conscious, I am present. Now, what is the nature of this “I” present in this so-called “consciousness,” since this consciousness in us is the result of all human experience, all knowledge, of everything the human being has been going through within these thousands of years – and in us for these few decades? So, when we put ourselves to act, to do something, what is this present “I”?

We have here used the expression “the egoic mind” for this condition of this “I” consciousness. When that “I” expresses itself, it expresses itself through that movement of the mind, so the egoic mind is part of this “I” consciousness. So, let’s put it this way: what we call “consciousness” is the simple awareness of the mind. That mind, which is the egoic mind, is the “I” mind, and it is within this consciousness that I have just called “I consciousness” – we can also call it mental consciousness. The truth about it is that our action in this world, within this mental consciousness, is always an action limited by a present identity, which is the identity of “I.” When we use the pronoun “I,” we refer to the person we are. We place ourselves as a person, an entity, a character moving within a so-called “conscious” action. This action comes from the background that is all this experience and knowledge of humanity. The point here is that when we observe this action, we realize that it is always an action based on the intention, the motivation, the desire, the fear of this entity we believe to be, which is the “I.” Any action based on that “I,” notice, is always an action where the center of the world is this very entity, this very personal identity. Therefore, our actions are all egocentric since they start, proceed from an activity of the “I.” They are actions that come from an egocentric activity within the egoic mind, which is this consciousness.

So, what is the structure, what is the truth, and what is the nature of this consciousness? When we say “I am aware,” what is the truth of it? We are referring here to an action centered on the ego-identity and, therefore, in separateness, in duality, in differentiation between “I” and the “non-I,” “the other and I,” “life and I,” “the world and I.” So, this nature, this formation, this structure of consciousness, as we know, is the structure of illusion, of this false center, of this egoic identity, of this particular background of conditioning and experience, which is just an inheritance of memory, of human history.

Here the question is: is there anything beyond this consciousness of the “I”, this structure, nature, and formation of this consciousness? We have been talking to you about this encounter with the Divine Truth, the Truth of God, the Reality of your Being. Here, we have some expressions like Being-Consciousness-Bliss; these expressions refer to a Reality outside of this “I” consciousness. So, when we talk about this Being, we are not talking about this body-mind being; we are talking about a Reality outside this limitation of this body and mind. When we refer to the expression Being, we are referring to a Reality beyond this body-mind, this psychosomatic being; and for the expression Happiness we are referring to a Reality outside of what we know as pleasure, satisfaction, and human fulfillment, even because all this pleasure, satisfaction, and fulfillment is something very temporary, it is something that we experience and soon disappears, and we always continue in search of the repetition of a new pleasure, a new fulfillment, a new satisfaction. So, we are not referring to that type or quality of “happiness” here. We are talking about Something that the mind, the egoic mind in this “I” consciousness is unaware of. And in this expression Being-Consciousness-Bliss, in the word Consciousness, we are referring to a Consciousness beyond this consciousness of the “I.”

Here, we are working to end the illusion of this ego-identity that moves within that egoic mind, which, by the way, is within that mental consciousness, within that consciousness of the “I.” So, we are working here on the Revelation, the Verification of this Real Consciousness. Consequently, this idea of “being aware,” which is the common idea that we have, where we move or are moving within that condition, that sense of separateness, of a separate identity from life, existence, from Reality, when that is not present, there comes the presence of the Reality of this Being, Bliss, and Consciousness. Then, we need a complete emptying of all that content of this so-called “I-consciousness,” which is consciousness as we know.

The human being has divided this consciousness of the “I” into conscious and unconscious; that which is hidden, stored, unknown and, however, still part of this consciousness is called unconscious, and that which is on the surface, clearly accessible and of which we are easily aware is called conscious, so there is this division. What is the truth about it?

The truth is that there is only this consciousness of “I.” When memories surface, thoughts arise, and these thoughts, of course, are memories, recollections, and remembrances; some of them come easy because we have a quick memory of them, your name, for example, your home address; others are more hidden information, more reserved, stored memories, which take a little longer to appear, but they are still pieces of information, like memories and remembrances, within that consciousness. But all of this is part of that psychological content, which is the content of that “I” itself, of that center which has in the brain its main element, its main equipment of function, functioning.

Thus, the brain is the main equipment, this main mechanism. When we examine this deeper, we realize that it is exactly in this brain that this sense of self-protection for this structure, this body, this mind itself has been developing, which is the result of this psychological conditioning. So, this sense of “I” has this very brain as its basic structure, this very brain structure. Our work together here is to discover the Truth about who we are outside of this “I” consciousness, therefore, totally free from the egoic mind, this sense of separateness, this center that is the “I.” That is the revelation of your Being, which is Real Consciousness, Real Bliss.

The approach to this Truth occurs when that center becomes quiet, that brain becomes silent, that mind enters that stillness, and this consciousness is completely empty of all its content. It happens when there is this attention on ourselves. Then, there is this awareness of this Truth of silence, of complete stillness for that mind, for that brain, the emptying of that content of that mental consciousness, that “I” consciousness. So, we are addressing several issues with you here.

The importance, the singularity of this Natural State of Being-Consciousness-Bliss is something present when there is the flowering of this movement, which is the new movement of attention, of this Mindfulness, here and now; then, this space opens for this new Consciousness, this Real Consciousness. If it is present, now the mind is brand-new because it is no longer working within the pattern of the continuity of that time thought has produced, has created in this idea of past, present, and future. When there is this Mindfulness, there is no longer this psychological time – which is the time of this “I” – in this structure of the egoic mind, in this condition of mental consciousness. This contact with the Reality present here and now, without any intervention or interference of thought, feeling, evaluation, comparison, judgment, motivation, intention of this entity, this person, this present sense of “I,” the contact with that moment without thought, feeling, without that background of memory, remembrances, recognition, intentions, desires, and fears, is the presence of that Mindfulness, then Silence is What is present.

We have some moments in life when we are moving within that Mindfulness. There is a movement of Mindfulness in some moments of our lives when we face some unusual moments in our existence: when we are on the edge of a beach or looking at the sky, watching the sliding of some clouds, when something captures us in the nature, like a bird singing perched on a tree branch or the enchantment and beauty of a waterfall. When we are there, at that instant, for a few seconds, something entirely new happens because of this movement of Mindfulness.

At that moment, we are in contact with this direct Truth of this Being-Consciousness-Bliss because this mental consciousness is no longer present. That egoic mind was completely blown away by the impact of that instant, that moment, by the beauty of that scene, by the Divine Truth present, of pure Grace, pure Unknown Presence in that scene. The egoic mind is swept away at that moment; this sense of “I” does not appear with its set of memories and remembrances about this personal, particular life, full of problems, worries, dilemmas, and difficulties. At that moment, you are in touch with the Reality of Something that is beyond the “I,” beyond that center, that brain that lives in this psychological restlessness, that pattern of ego-identity, that egoic consciousness – also, as I have been calling it, this “I” consciousness or the mental consciousness. That is contact with Real Consciousness, with the Happiness of simply Being. So, Being is simply Happiness, and Happiness to Be that Fullness of Consciousness, of Real Consciousness.

It is curious when some people use expressions like “guided meditation,” they do not realize that they are always in touch with the Truth of this guided Meditation when they are in touch with the Presence of Truth, this Real Intelligence, this Real Consciousness, this Nameless and Unknown Thing, which is the Divine Truth, which is the Truth of God. In nature, in front of a sunset, in front of the waves breaking on the rocks, in that blue sea of that gaze when that luminosity is over those waters and the sea foams come back and come back again, for a few seconds, the sense of an “I” is not there: that is the contact with the Truth of your Being. When the movement of Mindfulness is present, True Meditation occurs, and here is the guided Meditation.

You do not need a voice, a song, or an Indian mantra leading you. You do not have to sit in the lotus posture, breathe, or do pranayama. At that instant, in that contact with life, with all that impact of the Divine Presence, Something indescribable and abundant in nature is present. In this contact, this guided Meditation reveals itself; it is the Consciousness with your own Being.

Here we are working with you on the Real possibility of this experience in this Natural State of Meditation, which is the absence of the “I.” In some moments of our lives, we have this impact of this movement of Mindfulness, where the sense of the ego is completely annihilated and undone within us, and this is present when there is Meditation. How can we bring this into our life, into our day-to-day, busy with family, business, work, with different activities? How can we bring the beauty of the Natural State of Meditation to our lives, to this moment? This I have called True Meditation, when the presence of Meditation is here and now and the sense of an “I,” of an ego, of an egoic identity is not present; so we have this Mindfulness here and now because the mind is emptied of all its egoic content; the brain became silent and the mind quieted. Now, this Consciousness is no longer the separatist consciousness of the “I”; it is this Real Consciousness. So, the emptying of the mind, of this consciousness, is the appearance of Something new, like this new mind, the Real Consciousness, this presence of Meditation. Then True Meditation puts you in touch with this Natural Divine Presence, which is the nature of your own Being.

And what is True Meditation? It is the contact with Reality, the absence of the “I” here and now. Everything begins with this awareness of looking at what is happening here and now, internally. You watch the outer movement and are aware of that inner movement. To look at this movement of emotions, feelings, reactions, gestures, and, above all, the whole movement of thought within. Our psychological life based on this “I,” on this ego, is always based on thought and feeling. When you put this Attention, when you look without judging, comparing, criticizing, evaluating, without identifying yourself with what arises, rejecting what appears, when you only notice that thought, feeling, when you learn this art of just looking, in that self-observation, which simultaneously implies observation of the entire movement of the “I,” that gives you this art of Being-Consciousness-Bliss, that gives you the art of True Meditation.

Here on the channel, we explain how this approach to the True Meditation processes practically, in living, and experientially. True Meditation shows that your Natural State is pure Being, Consciousness, and Bliss. So, what happens as Guided Meditation in this contact with existence, with nature, in the most unusual or unexpected moments of your life, This happens. This Reality is also revealed here and now, in living, in daily life, in what you have considered routine in your mind. No, there is no routine, there is no habit, there is no boredom, there is no continuity, there is no repetition. Everything is new, clear, and carries that liveliness and freshness at that instant when the “I,” the ego, is not there. So, when the True Meditation is present, you are in touch with your Natural State of Being, where this Consciousness, as it reveals itself in nature, being the Truth of the guidance to that Natural State of Meditation, is present here and now, revealing itself as your own Natural State of Meditation.

So, this is what our work with you consists of, to show you that a life free of the “I” is possible, free from the ego and, therefore, from this mental consciousness, the egoic mind, this illusory center, this center that is the “I.” This Truth that reveals itself here and now is the Truth of this Awakening of Consciousness, this Spiritual Awakening, this Spiritual Enlightenment. OK? If this is something that makes sense to you, I want to invite you to give a “like” and subscribe to the channel. We have online, face-to-face meetings, also retreats where we work on this with those who approach. In the description of the video, there is our WhatsApp group. Ok? I await you. See you then!

Satsang: a real work | Live Self-Awareness | Live True Meditation

OK, let’s go! There is something very interesting here, people sometimes ask: “But aren’t your speeches also a theory?” These videos and speeches are here to tell you that these words are indications for you to investigate, look inside yourself and see it.

These videos and these speeches work like an arrow you find on the road. Let’s assume you are walking down a path and you come across an arrow; the head of that arrow indicates the direction you should take from there. The arrowhead is very interesting, but only for indicating the path you should follow now. Our inclination, tendency is pretty strong to cultivate the intellect, feelings, and emotions linked to the words we hear or read in books. That’s not the Truth. The Truth is in the direct experience of what you hear, of what you are reading; however, we are entertaining ourselves with these readings and with these speeches, and that is not the purpose. That’s why I've been inviting people to join, to participate, with regard to a Real work on themselves, and that’s Satsang’s proposal.

The word “Satsang” means “encounter with the Being,” an encounter with Reality, and you can even memorize, learn, and intellectualize these words, and they will not work. So, the point is to experience the Reality of what we are and not to intellectualize words and theories. These theories and words begin to be new beliefs in us. Notice what we are saying to you: if you read a lot about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you will learn these words, and if you study Buddha’s words, you will learn those words. That is just a belief, something you intellectualize if there is no direct experience. It is like seeing that arrow and standing there looking at it; if you do not keep walking to where the arrow points, you will not reach the goal or get to where it points, because you are just standing there under that arrow.

So, the work on oneself is something experiential. You must experience this, live Self-Awareness and True Meditation in a practical way. You must have your experience of this speech, of this word. The interesting thing here is to say that you follow this speech here and now and it is at this moment that you experience this Reality when you learn the art of listening, this art of listening to what is going on inside yourself, the art of observing what is going on inside you, then you have your direct discovery of Christ’s, of Buddha’s words, because it is your experience, what you are living.

Ramana Maharshi said that the study of the scriptures is just another vasana. Vasana is an expression within Yoga for what we still have as a latent tendency within us, still part of the ego, part of the egoic mind, and so are all knowledge we acquire. Our knowledge, especially religious knowledge, is still a vasana, an idea, a memory, a remembrance in the service of the “I” itself; that sense of the “I” still carries all of that. Thus, all forms of knowledge, including so-called “religious” and “spiritual” knowledge – especially those kind of knowledge we acquire by attending lectures or reading books – are just theories, concepts, and beliefs. Unless it becomes a direct experience, it will remain only in the realm of the intellect, as concept, a belief. There is no Truth in words; Truth is in living those words.

What is the experience of these words? What is the real experiential meaning of what we hear from Buddha, Krishna, Christ, or Ramana Maharshi? Your experience is the experience of the Reality of the Sages. You see the Reality of your Being, you become aware of What you are here and now; this experience is the Reality of who you are. Every theory, concept, belief, memorized word, or acquired knowledge is useless. Ramana Maharshi used to say that study of the Scriptures before Realization is unnecessary, and after Realization, it is completely useless. So, we may find very necessary this study of the Scriptures, but who is that that finds it necessary? The “I,” the ego. It keeps this information and becomes part of its entire collection. It has a collection, a psychological, philosophical, and political culture, and now it also has along with it more concepts, ideas, and religious beliefs, and this adds to all this knowledge it already has.

We need to go beyond what is inside this program, which is all this knowledge we have acquired – and that we are acquiring. Only at one level is knowledge necessary; it is practical, objective, technical, and functional in this dream world. You need to know your home address and how to deal with something technical and practical in your profession, and that, naturally, requires a type of knowledge, a specialization; at this level, knowledge is necessary. But this issue of experiencing Reality requires a direct experiencing of what is outside the mind, the known, the “I.” So, it is not about this continuity of acquiring more, but rather emptying yourself of all that psychological content. Here the art consists of learning to unlearn. Listening to these talks has a certain value in the sense that they are saying to you: “Stop listening and live! Experience Reality here and now; experience what you are hearing.”

That is our subject here in the channel. This art of Being requires learning about oneself, and not this continuity of the infinite movement of studies and readings without directly experiencing it. Our proposal is for you to live this; the possibility of directly experiencing this is an approach, in Satsang, of a Real work on oneself. Where we are working directly on experiencing this Reality of what we are, abandoning, completely dispensing with theories, beliefs, and concepts, for a direct life with what is, for an experiential contact with the Reality of what we present to be and with which we mistake ourselves.

This approach, this Real approach to ourselves, requires direct work and acknowledgment of the Truth about who we are here and now. The point is that we can spend a lifetime dedicated to studies, poring over books or listening to lectures, and participating in conferences and events; we can spend a lifetime occupying ourselves with the theory of it without directly experiencing it. The experience requires an approach to surrender and abandonment of this “I,” and part of this surrender and abandonment is the emptying of all this content. Knowing the Truth about who You are lies in understanding yourself here and now. So, what is needed is to come closer to the Truth about who you are.

So, Self-Awareness is this look at what is processed here and now, at all this movement of thinking, feeling, acting, and being in the relationship with the other, with the world, in the relationship with life, a direct contact with the Reality of what is present here and now; having this relationship with the world around you as a very clear one, where you can look at yourself, see yourself, perceive this internal movement, which is the movement of the “I,” the ego: envy, jealousy, anguish, pain, the existential void present, whatever is arising within, these negative or unhappy aspects, or apparently positive, happy and fulfilling ones, such as the desire to possess, ambition, that sense of control, ownership, that relationship we have with the world around us.

Here, we show you that we need to investigate ourselves and learn to observe all this internal movement of the “I” without putting the illusion of identity present. We can discard this illusion, this sense of ego-identity through self-observation. This abandonment of the illusion, of this false center, this false “I,” requires a work on ourselves in a direct and experiential way. I have been talking about the importance of studying ourselves, of being in direct contact with the study of ourselves, in the observation of this “I,” this sense of ego-identity present within the experience of living. Becoming aware of it, looking at it, learning this art of looking at yourself without condemning, judging yourself, looking without a sense of an observer, an experiencer, someone present to do something with it, figuring out how to look at it. Then this emptying takes place – the emptying of that inner psychological content, which is sustaining this identity, which is the “me”, the ego.

So, this is the invitation within this channel for direct work on yourself, here and now. What makes this work possible is the Presence of Grace in direct verification of what is happening here and now. That is why we are also proposing online, face-to-face meetings and also retreats, where we are directly working on this experientially and in a practical way to end this illusion, which is the illusion of the “I,” beliefs, theories, and all concepts the ego itself has formed about this, already knows about this. All of that needs to disappear with it. OK?

That is the subject we bring to and work on with you here on the channel. If this is something interesting, leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel, and we will continue investigating and deepening for a direct experience of this in online, face-to-face meetings, and also retreats, where we work with those who approach. OK?

If this is something that makes sense to you, here’s the invitation and see you soon. Thanks for the meeting!

Egoic human consciousness. Psychological identity. Divine Reality. Mindfulness. True Meditation

After all, here with you, what we have been talking about concerns the possibility of our Freedom — here, I refer to this internal, psychological Freedom. The Truth about you, your Being, or your Divine Nature is fundamental. What we call “my life” or “our lives” without Realization is suffering. Some of you are searching for something beyond this programming, this condition, this format of “living, feeling, and thinking” of the majority, and there is this quest, this search inside. That’s the search for God, for something beyond the known – and here when we talk about the known, we are literally talking about everything thought encompasses, everything our mind knows.

Everything the mind encompasses or knows is something within this known model, what we call here the mental or egoic consciousness. Our consciousness, your consciousness is actually similar to the consciousness of the rest of humanity. This so-called “my mind” or “my consciousness” carries everything we see in human consciousness. Will it be possible to accomplish anything beyond that? Will it be possible to find anything beyond what we know, what the mind knows, and what this life program has been like over all these years? Will it be possible for us – if you are twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, seventy, or eighty years old, to discover Something entirely new? What we could call a Real Life, a life free from this condition. And what condition is this? It is the condition of the egoic mind. Why do we use the expression “egoic mind”? The mind we know, this egoic mind, is, by nature, separatist, egocentric, and lives within a pattern of egocentrism. Thus, our life revolves around this “I,” “me,” this “person” we believe we are.

The purpose of our meetings here is to investigate this issue of the possibility of a radical and profound change in this structure, in the very nature of this egoic consciousness, which is human consciousness. Over millennia, human beings are conditioned to this programming, this condition of life, of existence. The result of all this is this internal unhappiness present in each of us, so there is this need for something beyond all that, this urgent, pressing quest or search for something beyond this boredom, loneliness, anxiety, fear, depression, and these internal states we know. Although we have enjoyable moments, most of our lives are too delicate and complicated. So, we have moments of pleasure, satisfaction, and fulfillment, at some level within a given relationship, in contact with objects, with people, with situations, and apart from these short, brief moments, which we even consider moments of happiness, most of our lives pass in enormous, extraordinary confusion, great weight, and suffering.

Looking at what we are here and now, observing all this movement of this “I,” this mental, egoic consciousness, brings you closer to a vision of yourself that you’ve never had. Looking at what is shown here as this “I” and being able to abandon, and get rid of it, requires the presence of this psychological death, the death of the illusion of this identity that is not real. The death of the illusion represents the death of the “I,” of the psychological identity we have formed over all these years. An approach to the observation of thought, feeling, emotion, and everything we think and feel can clearly show us this condition of illusory identity, of this false “I” centered on its desires, motives, ambitions, envy, fear, anxieties, concerns, and fears of all kinds. To become aware of this “I,” of the principle of this egoic identity, the egoic mind, this egoic consciousness, is to open oneself to the possibility of a profound and radical transformation.

Getting in touch with what is going on here and now, inside each of us, seeing how we are functioning, what that egoic consciousness, what that egoic mind is, discovering the possibility of abandoning that from ourselves, allowing it to disappear, is something that represents the death of this old “I,” this illusion, this false ego, this so-called “my truth,” which is an illusion.

Here, we work with you on the Truth of your Being, Real Consciousness, What, in fact, is your True Nature, the Divine Nature, the Nature of God. This is what we are looking for, This is What human beings have been searching for thousands and thousands of years; in particular, some of those are looking for This in an honest way, with a deep and true interest in discovering the Truth, which is the Divine Truth, the Truth of God, and if within you there is a search for something else, this speech is for you.

Yes, there is something beyond the mind, beyond the ego, beyond this “me,” this ego-consciousness, this mental consciousness. What constitutes this sense of “person,” of personal identity, is something built over time; so over time, this identity, which is the “I,” emerged – it appears in time, constituted of time. When you have an experience, that experience does not end because you register it, you acquire that knowledge, and now it becomes part of that structure, which is the structure of time.

So, our actions, speeches, behaviors, attitudes, and our entire response to life, in general, are coming from the past because they are coming from this memory, the memory of these experiences, remembrances, recollections, of everything that occurred or happened to us yesterday. We do not allow it to die or disappear; we acquire it, and it starts to be part of this structure, which is the structure of this ego-identity. Here, our meeting is to investigate this illusion – the illusion of this “I.” Here, we investigate the illusion of this ego, this “person” we mistake ourselves for, we believe to be.

What you call “I” is made up of a set of memories, remembrances, recollections, something that comes from the past and that, in fact, gives you an illusory identity, a sense of separateness from life, from the other, from God. Approaching yourself, looking at what is happening here and now, and going beyond this psychological condition of suffering, fear, desires, contradictions, and conflicts. When we get closer and start looking at all that inner movement within each of us. What we need is to learn how to look.

When we start looking, we discover and perceive that what we are looking at does not need to be given the illusion of identity, since it is just a program, a conditioning, a memory, or a remembrance. When we discover that we can live free from that sense of “I” present in this experience of thinking, feeling, and acting, we are before something entirely new, before the presence of the Divine Reality. In this Divine Reality, which is the Reality of God, there is no sense of “I,” there is life happening without this element that separates, divides, judges, compares, evaluates, fears, and desires, that is in a state of psychological unhappiness due to anguish, depression, and anxiety.

So, this life free from the sense of “I” is what happens when you start to observe this inner movement within you. Thus, when we deal here with an approach to the Truth about your Being, we are talking about the Truth of Self-Awareness. When we speak here, in these meetings, of this approach to the Truth of your Being, we are talking about an approach to Self-awareness. It’s when you know yourself, when you realize all the nuances, all that internal movement of contradiction, conflict, thoughts, feelings, and emotions; it’s when you just realize that this is something in you that is always trying to confirm and continue in this illusion of an “I” present within these experiences.

Thought, emotion, or feeling is an experience; we do not need to give identity to it, although that is what we have done. When there is Self-Awareness, there is this clear perception that a life free from the “I” is possible and requires this self-observation. This self-observation puts you before this Self-Awareness, then that moment is the moment of True Meditation.

Meditation is not closing your eyes at certain times of the day, breathing in a certain way, concentrating on some thought, or relaxing your body to quiet or calm your emotions through a technique, a system, or a practice. No, this is not meditation. That can be of therapeutic help; it brings relaxation, a certain emotional tranquility, and even mental and psychological; it can emotionally relax, but even so, the sense of “I” remains present because it is not being seen.

You cannot perceive the movement of the “I” when there is no mirror in front of you, and in living, in life, in the ordinary movement of everyday life, driving your car, talking to people, at work, or whatever other activity, you can just observe the movement of the mind, and this observation of the movement of the mind puts you in front of this mirror. This mirror is the relationship between the external and the internal; looking at this is to verify the Truth about oneself in this Self-Awareness. When that Self-Awareness is present, we approach Meditation – I have called it the True Meditation, Real Meditation, something that is present here and now, moment by moment.

Every moment there is the opportunity to observe yourself. Observing yourself is to study yourself. It is interesting to touch on this sense of study here – and this is how we have always put it – it is not about the study of the sacred books, but rather yourself, becoming aware of these internal states of restlessness, anxiety, worry, psychological discomfort, of unhappiness. Becoming aware of this, here and now, is Self-Awareness, and this is the direct contact with Meditation in practice at this moment. It’s always at this moment, talking, writing, dealing with business, working, walking, at every moment you are always in touch with that sense of an “I” present, facing the challenge that is life, that is this mysterious movement that always occurs here and now. Contact with this is contact with self-observation, Self-Awareness, and Meditation.

True Meditation is to be aware of that movement of the mind, a thought, a feeling, an emotion arises, a speech happens, a gesture, whatever arises; you become aware of it, just watching. Here the fundamental element is the absence of psychological time for True Meditation in practice. What do I mean by the absence of psychological time? What do I mean by True Meditation in practice?

True Meditation in practice is in living, day by day, it is here and now, and there isn’t a special moment for it – as it was said – to become aware of all the internal movement of thought, feeling, emotion, gestures, speech, and so on, here and now. And the non-presence of this psychological time is to understand that when the “I” appears – and the “I” is the one who, when observing a thought, wants to reject it or identifies with that thought and confirms identity in that... When you do this, if that makes you uncomfortable, you want to get rid of, when that gives you pleasure, you want to identify with the thought – you put the “I” element, which is the element of psychological time, in that experience. Whenever the “I” appears, it separates itself to do something with what it sees; that is the presence of time. “I want to get rid of it”: Here is the “I” with its psychological time; or “I love it”: Here is the “I” confirming an identity coming from the past, which is just memory, remembrance, this “I” being just the illusion of a thinker giving identity to a thought.

Follow it calmly. We have an extensive playlist here on the channel explaining this game to you, which is the game of the “I” within experience, which is the game of the thinker within thought, “of the one who feels” within the feeling, “the one who is moved by” within the emotion, “the one who is observing” being an observer of what he is observing. When that observer appears, time appears; when this thinker appears, time appears – here I refer to the psychological time – when the one who says “I want” appears, psychological time appears, and when it appears saying “I don't want,” it is the appearance of psychological time. So, to be free from this psychological time, to be in front of what appears here and now, without the presence of the psychological time, which is the presence of the “I” – the presence of the observer, of the one who likes and dislikes, the one who seeks and the one who wants to get rid of it – when that psychological time is not present because the sense of “I” is not there, the thinker, the observer, the experiencer is not present, Something entirely new shows itself. Then, this is the presence of the Natural State of Meditation, because Meditation is the presence of Reality when the “I” is not present and when there is no more sense of ego-identity.

Your Natural State of Being Pure Consciousness, the Divine Truth of your Being, is What is present here and now, when the “I,” the sense of an egoic identity, this thinker, this observer, this experiencer – which represents the presence of psychological time in our lives – when that is not present, the Reality of your Being flourishes, the Reality of Meditation is present. So, True Meditation is here and now, when the sense of “I” is not present. You are writing, speaking, working, dealing with some subject and, at that instant, there is this Presence, this Consciousness about yourself, here and now. Notice that this includes the truth of what I have here called Mindfulness.

This Mindfulness is present when there is no sense of psychological time, which is the sense of an “I” present within the experience. It is not something you will learn from someone else or study in a course; it is something you will discover by observing yourself, having that deep and Real interest in looking at all the inner and outer movements of life without putting this element, which is the element “I” present. So, in that sense, this Natural State of Pure Consciousness, where there is no sense of the “I,” the ego, is Real Meditation, and, naturally, this includes within it a Natural State of Mindfulness, effortlessly, without any imposed discipline, any technique. Something we face here and now, and that is what brings about this internal transformation, this transformation of consciousness. And here, when I use the expression “transformation of consciousness,” I refer to the end of this illusory mental consciousness. In this sense, a new Consciousness is present. It is not an old consciousness going through a process of transformation or change, but that old, illusory consciousness, which is the consciousness of “I,” vanishing into a new Consciousness. So, here we are at a Real change on a whole new level in this body-mind-brain. That is the transformation of that consciousness, the end of that old and illusory identity present in the experience of thinking, feeling, and acting; the end of that illusory mental or egoic consciousness involved with all kinds of complications, conditioning, problems, suffering, desires, fears, and afflictions. Thus, the Realization of the Divine Truth, which is the Realization of God, is Something here and now, showing itself as your Being, the Truth of God about you.

That is our subject here on this channel; if this makes sense to you, leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. I want to remind you: we have online, face-to-face meetings and also retreats where we are working with those who approach – so, here is the invitation for you. OK?

If this is something that makes sense, see you next one. Thanks for the meeting!
