How to overcome the fear of death? Truth of Life now. Illusory egoic life. Spiritual Awakening.

You know that in these meetings we are working with you on aspects of the problems of life, the different aspects of problems that we have in this so-called “human life,” in this life of all of us. And one of the problems we have is this issue of the so-called “death problem.”

Now, the question is: is the issue of death a problem? Or is, in fact, the truth about death – I say “the truth about death,” we don’t know the truth about it – the end of all problems? That's what we want to work on with you here in the next few minutes.

So, people have a question: “How to overcome the fear of death? How to go beyond that? How can we overcome this, which for us is one of the biggest problems?” And here I want to show that, in reality, death is not a problem. In fact, the truth about death is the end to all problems, as long as you understand what we here will be saying about this issue of death.

The word death, what does it actually represent? Here we go, let's start this way. We don't know what death is. It's very curious, because every day we see people dying, so there is a moment for everyone. Death occurs due to an accident, old age – old age – or an illness. There are several ways in which people are finally faced with this so-called “death” –, here I am referring to this physical death.

We actually don't know what this death is, but we are seeing people dying, so there is a fear present in us, a fear that we will have to face this. But notice how curious our psychological behavior is: what we have about death are theories, beliefs, and concepts that were taught to us, within philosophy, within religion, within tradition, and culture, where we were educated, where we were taught to think things about this death. In fact, about this “after-death.” But all of these are speculations, they are thoughts, they are ideas, they are beliefs.

In truth and in reality, we are sustaining this supposed security of our lives precisely in these beliefs – in these religious beliefs, in these philosophical beliefs, in these spiritualist beliefs – because we want to continue; that is the purpose of this sense of person. So, the person that we are – the person that we believe ourselves to be – wants to continue, so what they fear is actually not death. They have several theories about this “after-death.” What they fear is, in fact, losing what they know. So, let's calmly investigate this.

What do we know by life? Observe this clearly: what we know as life are memories. Any thought you have here and now, is something you know or recognize because of memory. A house, a car, family, work, pleasure, pain, all of this is part of the memory you have now, here. This is memory. That's what we call life.

So, what is our life? Memory. Without memory, what is your name? What is your history? What is your family? What is your home? What is your work? What is your life? So, what is our life? Memory. That's what we call life. What we call life is the continuity, in reality, of this “I,” this person, this memory. Observe this closely. This person is a set of memories, a set of stored images. These memories are of pleasure and pain, of joy and sadness, of wishes fulfilled and wishes frustrated.

What we call a “person” are images linked to fears about having lost things. Our fear is all based on the idea of things that were taken from us and that we do not want to lose again. We lose our health one day and we don't want to lose our health again, that's the fear. We lost a loved one. It is the loss of this loved one, it is not the presence of love for that loved one, that causes suffering in us.

The presence of suffering in us is due to the loss of this loved one that we love. But, like that, we also love our home, we love our ideas, our political idealism, we love our football team, we love our family. We are calling all of this “love” and we don’t want to lose it. And if there is any risk of losing one of these things, or some of them, fear is present, and along with this fear, this pain, this suffering is present. This is definitely not love.

So, let's clearly see this here. What we call “love,” “love for life,” in fact, in reality, is the attachment to the experience of pleasure, of fulfillment, of satisfaction that these things represent for “me,” for this “I.” We are calling this “love.” Note that this is what we call “my life.”

So, let's calmly investigate this here, because this way it becomes possible for us to truly go beyond the fear of death, because once you understand that you have no problem with death, but rather with attachment to everything you have, when you realize that everything you have represents this “I,” this ego, this person, the understanding of this is the end to this illusion of present identity.

So, notice that here and now: we have a belief that we are alive. This belief in being alive is the belief in an identity present within the experience of possession; possession of people, possession of objects, possession of ideas, conclusions, beliefs, opinions, all of this is part of this “I.” What will Real Life be without this sense of “I”? Here we are working on this with you, showing you that Life happens when there is an end to this “I.”

So, in truth, the end of all problems is the end of this illusory identity that has its things, that is attached to its things, that represents what it is. Looking at the Truth about who we are, going beyond this present sense of I is the end to death. We need to embrace the Truth of Life now, at this moment. We welcome the Truth of Life when we understand the end for all things, all the things to which this sense of “I,” which is the ego, is attached. See how fascinating it is to understand this!

What is the truth about Life? It is when there is an end to the illusion of an identity, which is the identity of the “I,” of the ego, which represents the end for everything that we believe to be ours, that we believe we possess, to be owners. So, the goods, the real estate, these intellectual assets, these beliefs, all the knowledge, all the experience, all the memory, all the sense of identity that we extract from all of this, when the end for all of this occurs, we have the Truth about death, death of the illusion of a present identity.

So, in fact, we are not alive; we are extracting, in an egoic and psychological way, from everything around us, from everything that Existence has placed around us, from all experiences, objects and perceptions, we are extracting from this the illusion of life, which is the life of the “I.” So, what in us is afraid of death, is the sense of an illusory identity that is present in the known. So, you don't fear dying, you fear losing your identity when you see what you place yourself as being you, as being you, being taken away from this “me,” this “I,” this ego. Are we together? I don't know if this is simple or complicated for you. Have a little patience and follow this.

We are attached to our experiences, attached to our perceptions, attached to our sense of value, to objects, to people, to ideas, to this image we have of who we are, all of this is part of this illusory identity that we here believe to be alive and that can die. Will it be possible to have contact with life at that moment, this contact with life being exactly the end of this illusory egoic life, which represents dying at that moment to our attachments, desires, fears, dying to the self-image that has been hurt, insulted, who is offended? Because, notice, it is that in us that is offended, that is hurt, that is holding on to everything.

So, the Truth of approaching Real Life represents the end of this “I,” this ego, which means Real contact with death. Can we realize This right now? Not after thirty or forty years of life, when we will inevitably have to face the end of everything. Because death, we know, is the end of everything – that is what we have as a fact, as a reality. Apart from these “after-death” beliefs, what we really have is that death represents the end of everything we know.

We cannot say to death: “wait a little.” This can happen at any time, we don't know the right moment, you can't negotiate with it, you don't have a deadline for this to happen. This could happen within forty years or in the next forty seconds, we cannot negotiate with death, and when it arrives, everything disappears. So, that's the end of all that is known.

This is one of the most fascinating subjects we have here to investigate: the beauty of this contact with death now. Instead of waiting forty years or forty more seconds, we can now completely free ourselves from the identity of this “I.”

So, what do we have outside this “I,” outside this set of things that are within everything that is known? Here we are saying that there is, yes, a Reality beyond that. It is contact with your Being, with the Truth of God. God is synonymous with the Unknown, That which is Nameless, Indescribable, which is not part of time, and if it is not part of time, it is not within these forty seconds nor these forty years; it is Something that is beyond birth and death. So, it is Something that is beyond being born, growing up, getting sick, getting old, and dying.

This is the Reality of this Divine Being, the Divine Reality that we do not know, and for the ego It will always remain as something Nameless, Indescribable, and Unknown. Thus, contact with the Truth of your Being, with the Truth of God, is the end for death, because it is the end for the known.

That’s when there is Something present that is no longer part of these attachments, of this entire sense of control over objects, sensations, perceptions, and relationships. We are before Something that is the presence of Love. Now there is Something present in this contact with people, in our relationship with the world, but it is the scent of Something Unknown. So, is it possible to have a Real Life, without death, in this contact with family, with home, with bank account, with goods, with real estate, without an identity, which is the “I,” the “me,” the present ego?

So, this contact with Life is Something Real when there is no longer the sense of an “I,” of an egoic identity present within this illusion, within this model of the known. This is our work here with you within this channel. Some call it the Awakening of Consciousness, others call it Kundalini Awakening, others call it Spiritual Awakening. There are several names for this Natural State; others refer to this Natural State free from time – from this psychological time –, free from this sense of “I” with its model of illusory life, of egoic life, as the state of Turiya.

This is our work here with you within this channel. If you want to go deeper into this, if this is something that makes sense to you, we have online meetings here, you can find our WhatsApp link in the video description to participate in these meetings that take place on weekends. In addition, we have face-to-face meetings and also retreats. OK? If this really touches you, go ahead and leave your “like” here and subscribe to the channel. And we'll see you!
