Joel Goldsmith. Invisible supply. Power of this Presence. Surrender, devotion. Master Gualberto.

GC: Hello everyone! We are here once again, another videocast. Gratitude to Master Gualberto, Marcos Gualberto, for this meeting with us. Master, today I'm going to read an excerpt from Joel Goldsmith's book called “Invisible Supply,” where Joel says the following: “Our relationship with God is: I and the Father are one. Just one, not two. God is, therefore I am. This is Oneness.” Within this topic, Master, we have a question here from a channel subscriber, Alexandra Claudino. She asks the following: “Master, what is necessary to achieve Enlightenment? Knowledge, techniques, or just spirituality?”

MG: None of the three things. This Awakening of Consciousness or Realization, Enlightenment, this Vision of Reality outside of this model, which is the model of this “I,” this “me,” this ego, whatever name we want to give it: Awakening, Enlightenment, Realization, none of that occurs from technique, from knowledge, from anything else. The only element, Gilson, that makes this possible, the only present element that makes this possible is the Presence of Grace, just this Divine Grace, this Mystery that we call Grace, but we don't know what that is.

Generally, we name things, and we are also naming this Mystery that makes it possible. This is not knowledge, it is not technique, it is not spirituality, it is not esoteric, mystical practice... I refer to this element that we call the Grace of God, Divine Grace. What makes this Realization possible is Divine Grace.

A work is necessary, yes, in this direction, but this work is the work of Grace itself, making this possible for this body-mind. So, see: work is necessary, a change, a psychological transformation is necessary in this mechanism, in this organism, and all of this occurs due to the Power of the Presence of this Divine Grace, this Mysterious Thing. This is what makes this Realization possible.

Here, we have been talking to you about the work that is necessary. Now, it is a job that involves many things. However, these many things are still not the most important factor, because the most important thing is still the Power of Grace. Ramana Maharshi – here is the photo of my teacher – said that the most important thing is the Power of the Guru's Grace, the Power of God's Grace. So, the Power of Grace, according to Ramana Maharshi, is the most important element, it is the only irreplaceable factor for this Realization.

In this work, Gilson, we are signaling, pointing, telling you how this work of self-observation, self-investigation, Self-Awareness, Real Meditation, needs to happen so that this mechanism, so that this body and mind really go through a process of transformation, of change, so that there is, so that this Spiritual Awakening happens, which is the Realization of God. All this due to the Power of this Divine Grace, the Power of this Presence.

So, the most important element is this contact with Grace. I'm speaking from my experience. A work was carried out in this mechanism due to this Grace. So, what we are sharing here with you, what I have shared in these videos, is based on this experience, this Awakening here. It didn't come from studies, it didn't come from books, it didn't come from meditation techniques or practices. What I have shared about Meditation is based on this experience, based on how the work was processed here. So, the matter of Meditation, the matter of the perception of Self-Awareness, the matter of discerning this movement of how thought is processed, this studying – today I share the importance of studying ourselves –, I share it based on this study.

So, the work consists in studying oneself, in becoming aware of the movement of the “I,” thus discovering what it is to have an approach to Self-Awareness, this self-investigation, this self-observation, this Attention, this Full Attention on this movement. What this all implies is the experiential, practical presence of Meditation. So, this is the work, always within the Power of this Grace. There is no point in reading, there is no point in studying, there is no point in listening to lectures, there is no point in doing anything without this work in oneself.

All work, Gilson, is processed within each one of us from this study of ourselves, under this Grace, under this Power, under this Divine Mystery, which is the Presence of Divine Love, which is the Presence of the Love of God. So, when the Power of that Silence, when the Power of that Presence, when the Power of this Grace, which is this Mystery, reveals itself, this studying oneself and this change become possible, and, naturally, so is this Awakening.

GC: Master, we have another question here from a subscriber of the channel, within this same theme, from Rosilene de Jesus. She asks the following, Master: “How to receive the Divine Grace of Awakening?”

MG: Surrender and devotion. Here's the secret! Grace is a very mysterious thing... Having an approach to this Grace and opening yourself up to this invitation. That's quite curious. This very opening is not something the ego can do. Grace itself takes on this work in this mechanism, in this organism. When we are burning for it, when we are burning for the Truth, that is the time for Grace to reveal itself. And when Grace reveals itself, with it there comes this surrender and this devotion. So, we are mature enough to go beyond this “me,” this “I,” this ego, because we are not going to resist, we are not going to fight for so long.

It is a work totally of Grace, totally of God. So, it is God, it is Grace, it is this Presence, it is this Being that attracts you and works with you and gives you this Realization! So, it is not something that the person does, accomplishes; it is something that God does, that God makes, that Divine Grace makes. However, it is a work of surrender and devotion. Something inside you will make you realize that there is no reason to continue resisting, fighting, and maintaining this life, this life focused on the illusion of this ego-identity, involved in this constant search for fulfillment and achievement outside.

There is a Joy, Gilson, that arises naturally within each of us to turn to That which is Sacred, to That which is Divine, to That which is the Truth. So, there is great Joy in this self-enquiry, in this Meditation, in this surrender, and in this abandonment. Then, a work happens, an invitation from this Grace... We receive this invitation and attend to this invitation. And it is Divine Grace itself taking its place in this body-mind, carrying out this work.

It's something we discover as we approach it. We realized that everything starts to happen in a very spontaneous, very natural way. In fact, without any effort on our part. The effort on our part, this effort of the “I,” is, in truth, one of resistance and struggle. What I've been saying, Gilson, is that we're just getting in the way! We don't make Grace's work easier; we don't make God's work easier; we just get in the way.

GC: It's funny that, in proximity to the Master, this becomes evident in daily life. Now, a week or two ago, a situation happened. I received news of a situation that I would have been – if it had been before knowing and being close to this work with the Master – very shaken, worried, anxious, etc. And I got the news and it was like absolutely no internal movement, no thoughts… nothing! I laughed: “Wow, look at how this Grace of the Master is doing the work without us having any idea.”

So, it's something that is, really... because I myself, in my journey, did a lot of practice, I did a lot of meditation practice... and I just screwed up! The ego only screwed itself up; it only gets in the way, as the Master said. And knowing the Master, and in this proximity, I began to realize and understand that's all the ego really does: it's getting in the way of this wonderful work that Grace does. Now, being close, there will be moments when it gets a little tired and Grace can act, so to speak.

MG: It's interesting, Gilson, because it's very common for people to ask: “Is this Realization immediate or for a long term? How is that?” And people don't understand. Guys, Realization is something out of time! Something out of time! In this sense, this is your Real Nature! This is the Nature of each of us. Your Being will not be Realized, your Being is ready! Your Divine Nature is Divine, It is outside of time and, therefore, does not need time for It to be what It already is!

So, in that sense, there is nothing to achieve, to accomplish. There is no time in the future where It will be that is not already here. When we deal with Realization, Gilson, we are dealing with That which is outside of time! So, it's not a progressive process until we get there, it's not a matter of time for It to happen, because It already is! However, this movement of egoic identity, something built over time, is sustained over time.

To become aware of this here and now is to put an end to it here and now. However, this movement in this mechanism, in this body-mind, this movement of continuity of the “I” in time created by the “I” itself, which is thought, it is a very persistent movement that is modeled within an already-addicted movement, in this mechanism, in this body-mind, in this brain, in this organism. So, work is necessary on this machine, on this body-mind, a deconstruction of this model of thinking and feeling. So, for this machine, this notion of time exists, but for your Real Nature, there is no time.

So, it's paradoxical, because the answer to this question is: there is no time and, yes, time is necessary! For Realization? No! But for this deconstruction, for this investigation, for this process of looking moment by moment at this, this is happening in this so-called “time.” It's not in psychological time, but it's in clock time. So, we are here for a few-minutes meeting, we need other meetings like this. We have a face-to-face meeting where we spend two days together on a weekend, then we have a retreat, where we spend several days together.

So, this time of investigation, of study, of looking at ourselves, of becoming aware of how this movement of the “I” is processed and maintained, repeating itself over time, becoming aware of this requires time, chronological time for investigation! But the Reality of What You Are is immutable! You are already That! But, intellectually, there is no point in believing: “I already am this,” because this is the intellect conditioned with a belief, like any other. So, people say, “I Am! I Am this ‘I Am’ that I Am,” but that is just an intellectual statement, a belief! This is of no use! It is just the conditioned intellect; it is still the egoic identity professing a phrase: “I Am.” This is a fallacy; this is an illusion!

Work is necessary in this mechanism, in this body-mind, and this work may take, yes, a few minutes, a few months, or a few years, but that doesn't make the slightest difference to That which is already You, which is not even in those minutes, not in these months, nor in these years; for You who, in your Being, are already outside the body, the mind, and the world. So, the answer to that question is this: Realization is now, the work is now, and that “now” is this minute, and the next minute, and the next as well, until it becomes clear that the notion of separation no longer exists. But as long as there is still a sense of persistence in the mistake, in the error, in this sense of an identity living in this continuity of psychological time, work is necessary. And that is, of course, within time, but the Reality of That Which You are does not require that.

So, it's something quite paradoxical, and we can't match that with what we're putting here, we can't match it. So, the answer is: Realization is gradual. No, no, Realization is instantaneous. No, no, Realization is outside of time! No, no, the work is on time! Ok? I don't know if that makes sense.

GC: Master, intellectually it makes no sense at all, because there is no way, intellectually, to understand something that is, apparently, paradoxical. Now, in proximity to this work that the Master does, participating in the meetings, something that is outside of time, outside of the intellect, is happening and, so to speak, an understanding appears. Because it is really very paradoxical and there is no way to understand it. But one doesn't really have to understand it, right? That's the wonderful thing: not having to understand it.

MG: Yes, yes, you don't have to understand it! Gilson, it's a matter of Comprehension, it's not a matter of understanding. Comprehension is something that reaches you and, in this attainment, a Silence is established and a Vision remains, not an understanding. So, Comprehension is different from understanding. You don't need to understand when Comprehension hits you. People have inverted this. They live reading books, studying the scriptures, and listening to speeches and lectures, and they understand everything, but they Comprehend absolutely nothing of it! They repeat, they speak, because they read it. It's something purely intellectual!

Realization is a matter of Comprehension, not a matter of understanding. The Sage, the Being, Truth, flourishes in Comprehension, not in understanding. He who Realizes his Being is a Sage, not because he understands things, but simply because there is Comprehension! This Comprehension is the discernment of what is, what is not, what appears to be and everything, because it is the Vision of Wisdom.

Wisdom is a matter of Comprehension, not a matter of understanding; the Revelation of your Being is a matter of Comprehension, not a matter of understanding; and Being is not a matter of stored experiences. Being is the direct experience of this Comprehension in experiencing, in this instant, in this moment, where the mind does not enter, where thought does not enter, where the intellect does not enter, where understanding does not enter. Do you see it, Gilson?

GC: Master, speaking about myself, I studied a lot that the “I” is an illusion, etc., but it was always something intellectual and, although I repeated it millions of times, it was something that was only understandable: “No, I understand, the 'I' is an illusion.” But it's the dog chasing its tail! Now, in a meeting, even in an online Satsang, in this sharing of this Grace of the Master, in this Stillness, in this Silence, soon something became very clear. As full that Silence was, and then a thought would soon appear, “me!” Then, a comprehension came: “Wow!” What was only intellectual had a moment of Comprehension. But that's the point where I want to ask the question to the Master: There was a Comprehension, but it was just an experience, it's the past! Now, the matter is right now if I get entangled with the thought that I am someone, I am within a lie! So, can the Master talk a little bit about this constant self-observation, this constant investigation of oneself?

MG: That's why, Gilson, the Awareness of the Revelation of Being is something that is outside of time, but the work is processed in time. Note: you are giving an example of the recurrence of the psychological time model. While this model is emerging, it needs to be seen. And it is being seen now, and the next moment, and the next moment, and the next too! So, becoming aware of yourself, which is Self-Awareness, is always here. Every moment, here. A new moment arises, Comprehension needs to be here, in this vision of Self-Awareness here.

To look at every movement of thought, feeling, emotion, sensation, perception... the gestures, the way of speaking, the way of looking, how you look, what is the thought that emerges behind this model of looking... To observe the own inner movement of this “I” consciousness, how the movement of consciousness works, this is something we do moment by moment. So, this is where the work takes place: becoming aware of the movement of the “I.” Without this, there is no Meditation; without this, there is no such Awareness of Meditation.

So, I would say, Gilson, that Meditation has two aspects: one aspect is this proximity to this look at all this movement that arises here and now, moment by moment. This is Meditation, this is

Self-Awareness. And Meditation has another aspect, which already transcends this, which is when time is no longer there. Then, something new and unknown takes over the brain, because it has already quieted down, the mind has quieted down. There was a Stillness that did not come from a discipline, a practice, a technique, it did not come from a system of meditation. It came from this Attention on the movement of thought itself, it came and was born from this deep interest in looking at all this movement. Then, the brain quiets down, the mind quiets down, and something outside the known is revealed, which is your Being, which is Meditation.

This is another aspect of Meditation. It is when this Being, which is beyond the body and mind, beyond this brain and all the conditioning of the machine, is present. So, a Silence, where something outside the known is revealed, is present, and there we have this nameless, indescribable thing, which is the Reality of God! So, this is another aspect, which is the second aspect of Meditation, when there is no longer even this awareness of looking without the observer, when there is something beyond that.

Then, the Truth of Being, the Truth of your Real Nature, reveals itself in this Silence, in this Nameless, Indescribable Thing. So, in that moment, what is present is this Real Comprehension, without someone comprehending; it is the Real Vision, without someone seeing it; it is Reality showing itself outside of everything that is known. This is the moment of Revelation of your Being. When that Being is established there as your Natural State, that is the Truth of Awakening, that is the Truth of Being, Consciousness, Freedom, Love, Happiness, whatever name we want to give to That which is outside of what thought, what the mind can reach or imagine about.

GC: Master, it’s interesting that, especially in face-to-face meetings, in-person Satsangs, or retreats, the retreat ends and then: “Wow, what was that?” I don't even know how it happened, because it's something so outside of this conditioning of time, that it becomes something so complete and empty... This lightness that the Master lives and that he shares with us in meetings is so paradoxical that we don't have a memory like that: “Wow, that moment!” Something can even be described, but it is past, it is no longer a Reality. And I see that the ego loves to collect experiences, right, Master? And within spirituality, there is a lot, there is a mystical experience and such: “Oh! I had an experience!”, and then you will tell others about the experience. And it's wonderful how the Master does and destroys this, because an experience that has already passed is just a memory. So, what matters is now, this work now, this look now.

MG: There is no Truth in the experiencer. Truth is in experiencing, and Being is assuming the naturalness of the now, of this instant. So, this importance, which was previously given to experience, because before there was an experiencer, this is broken within Satsang. So, Beauty is in Being, and we discover this Beauty when there is only experiencing, without the center that is the “I,” the ego, which is the experiencer. That's why the experience doesn't remain, memory doesn't remain. There is no memory when there is experiencing. When there is experiencing, there is only Consciousness, there is only Truth, and Truth does not stay, it leaves no record, it leaves no memory, it leaves no past. That's what happens!

GC: Master, our time has ended. Gratitude for this meeting, this videocast. For those of you watching the video, leave a comment, leave a “thumbs up,” give the “like” in the video. And here is the invitation to come and participate, together with Master Gualberto, in the meetings – whether online on the weekend, the online Satsangs, or in person – to be able to get a taste of what it is the sharing of this Real Consciousness that the Master lives, because what he says is not a theory, it is something he lives, and by living it, it is an energy that overflows and reaches us, so to speak. So, here's the invitation.

In the first pinned comment, there will be the link to the WhatsApp group with information about the meetings.

Master, gratitude.
