It’s very interesting when people approach and ask questions like: “How to overcome suffering? How to overcome fear? How to overcome anxiety?” Note that we want to overcome, we have no idea who is in this condition of fear, suffering, and anxiety; who is this in anxiety, who is this in fear, who is this in suffering.
What is the truth of life as it shows itself here, right now? We want the solution to a problem, without understanding the one who is in the problem, the one who finds himself in the problem. The end to all problems for each of us is the understanding of what the problem represents at that moment.
Our thinking model regarding how to deal with the problem is always the idea that this problem can be overcome, surpassed, that it's possible to overcome this problem, to conquer it. And the idea of conquering and overcoming consists of something you will do to achieve this later on.
Here we have a different approach. We are telling you that it is in this instant, here and now, and not later, the direct contact with the truth of what is, the awareness of what is. What is the truth of what is found here? This problem for “us,” this problem for “me,” this problem for the “I” is in the understanding of this “me,” this “I.” So, this “we” needs to be understood, this “me” needs to be understood. This “we” who have the problem, this “me” who carries the problem, this “I” who is experiencing this problem.
So, it is now that we come face to face with truth, with the fact, with the reality of the problem, when we come face to face with this “me,” this center, this “I.” How can we resolve this? By having an understanding of what this “me” is, what this “I” is at this moment. This is where the problem lies, and this is where we deal with the problem. It's not after that instant, it's not after that moment.
Realize the beauty of this. Fear is now, here, it is a present reality in this moment, so there is this “I” in fear. Anxiety is present in that moment, so there is this “I” in anxiety. Suffering is present, so there is this “I” in suffering. This “I” in suffering is suffering; this suffering is the “I.” In fear, this “I” is fear; This fear is the “I.” In anxiety, this “I” is anxiety; this anxiety is the “I.”
Here, at this moment, you cannot separate the “I,” which is the sufferer, from suffering, the “I,” which is the fearful, from fear, the “I,” which is the anxious one, from anxiety. It's always at that moment! It is always in this moment that we are dealing with the Reality of what is, what the problem is. Our idea is: “I need to get rid of it. What will I do? What should I do? What do I need to do?” Thus, we are always dealing with something that is here, at this moment from the viewpoint of an idea, an idealism for the future.
When we deal with an experience, in experience, we are not dealing with the possibility of time, we are only dealing with the truth of the present moment, we are only dealing with the reality of this now showing itself, and there is no separation between this now and the fear, suffering, or anxiety. There is no separation between this “I” and anxiety, fear, or suffering. So, the “I” is the suffering, it is the experience, and it is here, now.
Is it possible to eliminate this separation between the thinker and the thought? Because there is no separation. When thought is there, the thinker is also there. We eliminate this separation, because if there is suffering, the sufferer is present. Is it possible to eliminate the separation between fear and the fearful, between anxiety and the anxious one?
Our vision is the illusory vision of time to resolve this – this which is now, here. Note the illusion: this time is just a fantasy, an imagination created by thought. There is no such thing as “after” the present moment; There is no such thing as “tomorrow” to solve the fear now, suffering now, or anxiety now.
The presence of the “I,” which is suffering, which is the fearful, which is the anxious one, is now revealing itself when this aspect of the experience is present. There is no separation. But notice the trick of the ego, of this thinker: one is idealizing a future, one is idealizing tomorrow to solve this. This tomorrow is within this psychological time, this future is within this psychological time. It is thought that has produced this quality of time, which only exists by being thought itself. So, this thought is time.
So, there is no separation between time and thought, and time and thought are imagination. Now, notice: when this thinker is present, thought is present, time is present, imagination is present. But if we eliminate that thinker, that psychological time disappears, that psychological tomorrow disappears, that psychological future disappears. This way, we can deal with this moment, with the experience, with what it represents in that moment. So, we are dealing with what is, not what should be, what could be, what will be. We are dealing with what is.
Can we eliminate this separation? When we eliminate the thinker, we eliminate time, and if we eliminate time, we eliminate this separation, because there is no longer this sufferer in suffering, this fearful in fear, this anxious in anxiety. We are in direct contact with experience, and this direct contact with experience is the end of that experience.
Observe it, investigate it, get closer, and look directly at it. Don't be stuck on these words, realize for yourself, understand for yourself what we are saying here. Get in direct contact with experience without this center, without this thinker. Get in direct contact with the experience, but don't put that experiencer who gives the name to the experience, to this form of suffering, calling it fear, anxiety, anguish, depression.
See, this is a completely different way of approaching what is here, because we never really approach it. We name it to control it, to try to get rid of it, to try to do something with it, or to explain it to ourselves, so we name the experience.
So, look: it's a big mistake of ours, it's a big mistake for us to classify, to name, because our inclination is to do something with it. All of this is a big game of the own ego, this thinker. In fact, the thinker does all this to sustain itself by being that thinker. The thinker does all this because this is the continuity of this “I,” this ego. The result of this is that we do not free ourselves from suffering, we keep naming it and trying to control it.
So, in general, we do two things: either we seek to free ourselves, and so we ask “how to free ourselves” – “how to get rid of envy,” “how to get rid of fear,” “how to get rid of anxiety” –, or we look for an escape route, an escape from this psychological condition.
You see, we are being very direct with you: when we feel uncomfortable, in pain, due to suffering, we try to deal with it or try to get rid of the experience – and when we try to get rid of it, we are confirming the presence of this ego, this “ I,” of this thinker, we are confirming the presence of this experiencer to get rid of the experience – or we seek to escape from it.
Thus, we have several methods of psychological escapes from this pain, this suffering. We need the time that thought builds to do this. So, running away or trying to escape, we need an idea, a concept that thought formulates to deal with this experience. In any case, we do not come into direct contact with this. Thought may say “tomorrow I will be free”; or thought can find something to replace, to replace this painful experience of psychological suffering; then, thought says: “let's drink,” “let's watch a movie,” “let's go for a walk,” “let's go on a date.”
Thus, there are different ways of escaping suffering, fear, and anxiety. But this also applies to anguish, depression, and the sense of loneliness – this pain present in this so-called “loneliness.” So, we are always looking for one way or another to get rid of or escape this psychological suffering.
Having an approach, a free look at this center, this “I” is something possible when there is the Truth of Revelation of understanding this process of separation, of duality. The awareness of the Reality of this Being, of the Truth of your Real Being, of the Divine Reality that you have within, that you are when the “I,” the ego, is not present, is the Reality of Non-Duality. In India this is known as Advaita, Non-Separation.
Non-separation, that Natural State of Being, where the only Reality is the Divine Reality, is the Reality of God. This in India is known as Advaita, “the one without the second.” This is the Truth that we are, this is the Divine Nature that we carry. It does not carry any of these psychological unhappiness conditions. Human beings live within this condition because they do not know the Truth about themselves. The Awakening of your Being – some call this Spiritual Awakening – the Awakening of your Divine Nature is the awareness of Non-Duality, which is Advaita, Non-separation.
We have deepened this here with you through the awareness of approaching Self-knowledge, the Truth of Self-awareness and True Meditation. This takes place in online meetings that we have here on weekends – you can find our WhatsApp link here to learn more about this. It's something completely different from simply watching a video about it. Discover the science of the art of Meditation. Within these online meetings, we have the presence of something much greater than what you find here in these videos. You can find our WhatsApp link in the video description to participate in these meetings. We have face-to-face meetings and we have meetings like retreats to deepen this.
Direct contact with the Truth of your Being is fundamental. The only thing in life is to Realize the end to every form of suffering, to every confusion, to every disorder. This encounter with the Truth of God, with the Truth of your Being is the realization of Happiness. So, this encounter is a realization of the Divine Truth, which is present when Something outside of everything that the egoic mind, that the ego knows. When this Reality shows itself, That which is Unknown, which is Nameless, which is Indescribable presents Itself.
So, if this is something that makes sense to you, here is an invitation to participate in one of these meetings. Also, leave here in the comments: “Yes, it makes sense,” leave your “like” and please subscribe to the channel. OK? And we'll see each other. Thanks for the meeting and see you soon!
