Joel Goldsmith | The Master speaks | Work of the Infinite Way | Master Gualberto

GC: Hello everyone! We are here for another videocast. Once again, Master Gualberto is here with us. Thank you very much, Master, for your presence.

Master, today I'm going to read an excerpt from Joel Goldsmith's book called “The Master speaks.” In this book, in an excerpt, Joel comments the following: “In this work of the Infinite Way, there is only one error, which we call hypnotism, suggestion, or appearance.” Master, on this subject of illusion, what is Master's view on illusion?

MG: This illusion is the belief of an identity present within this experience. To put it in simple terms: illusion consists of the idea – which is a thought – of a thinker being the author of his accomplishments, the author of his thoughts, his dreams, his ideals, his goals, his purposes, his choices, and decisions; the sense of a present thinker seeing himself separate from all these kinds of things, being the author of these things. What is present, in fact, is thought itself being these dreams, these desires, these motivations, these intentions, these volitions. All of this is just part of thought.

The error or illusion consists of this central idea of a present identity separate from God, separate from life, separate from everything that arises, from everything that appears, and from all these projects, dreams, and so on. This is where the problem lies. The problem, basically, is the illusion of “someone” present, taking positions, making choices, having decisions, carrying out, thinking, wanting, not wanting... that is, in a state of separation, sustaining for himself every form, naturally, of conflict, because, within this model of separation, in this separation, we have problems and, therefore, conflicts that arise. It is the condition of the identity of the “I,” the “me,” the ego.

This has guided our lives towards a completely egocentric pattern of behavior, feelings, and thoughts; naturally, problematic and conflicting. So, basically that's it. This is not real! This only remains due to the dream condition that thought has produced, creating thus the illusion of a dreamer in this dream, that, in fact, is itself. This dream and this dreamer are a single phenomenon arising in this manifestation, creating the illusion of this separate center, which is this one called “I.”

When you use the pronoun “I,” you are talking about an identity that is not real, you are supporting an idea, a principle, that is completely wrong. This is where the illusion is, this is where the only problem we have is. All the diverse problems, which are innumerable, that the human being has consist of a single problem: it is this problem of the illusion of a present identity, which is this center, which is this “I,” which is this ego. If that disappears, if that dissolves, it is revealed something outside of everything that thought can identify, can recognize, can explain, can speak; exactly because this other thing is not part of this model.

Here, Gilson, we are faced with a difficulty. We are pointing to a place that doesn't exist! So, we have a challenge here: we have to point to something that is not something, to a place that is not there. It is paradoxical: we are pointing to That which is Real, and That which is Real cannot be found there. It is not something and it is not a place; however, it is present, but it does not reveal itself as long as the model of thought – which is this thought that sustains this entire illusion – is present. When there is an end to this model – which is the model of thought that supports this “I,” this ego, and, therefore, this illusion –, when this disappears, dissolves, this Reality shows itself. It is to this Reality that we are pointing. I don't know if it makes sense.

GC: Master, as I have already said in several videocasts, this vision of the Master, these words of the Master are very revolutionary. Now, sharing a little of what I have experienced close to the Master, I remember that the first time I had this vision, when I immersed myself in this Silence of the Master, I could clearly see how this “I,” this one called “Gilson,” is just a thought! It's something far outside, beyond words, it's truly unnamable, how we identify with this center and live in it, until, by Divine Grace, we can have this contact with someone who is Awake, is no longer in this dream, to be shown, in this sharing of Presence, that this center is an illusion, this “I” in experience is an illusion. And it's a Grace, it's unique, Master.

MG: In fact, Gilson, it’s not just this “I” that is an illusion, as you found out. This “I” is the one that sustains this dream! So, notice: this “I” is present in the dream, it appears with the dream. The dream appears together with it – I mean the dream of this manifestation, of this existence. For this “I,” this dream is its reality; however, the reality of this dream is the reality of this “I.” Once you are free from this “I,” you are free from this dream. So, this need to dream is what has occurred when the sense of an “I” is sustained over time. When it sustains itself in time, it appears in time – this is what we call birth. So, people are being born… Who are these people being born? Who are these people who are living? And who are these people who are dying?

All we have is a beautiful phenomenal game of a dream, where this “I,” due to the movement it builds – which is a thought’s movement of “becoming,” of the desire to become, to obtain, to achieve, to enjoy a life and of an existence, naturally, separate –, it is perpetuating itself in this time. This is what I have called psychological time. It is in this psychological time that we have been born, we are living, and we are dying. But “we” who? The illusion of a present identity.

In this encounter with the Truth of your Real Being, which is not in time, which is not part of this movement of “coming to be,” of achieving, of becoming, and, therefore, is not part of this “I”... The reality of this Being, when revealed, brings about the revelation of the end of time, of this psychological time, of this time that thought constructs. This is the end of this dream model, of separate identity sustaining itself over time. That is your end of birth, that is the end of death, that is the Reality of God revealing itself. This is the Awakening of Consciousness; this is the Awakening of your Unique Nature, of your Real Nature, of the Truth about You. Not of the thought you have about yourself, not of what society, culture, the world, philosophical, and religious books talk about you.

There, things are pointed out, just like here, in a speech like this pointing out for something, as I just said, that is not something, for a place that is not a place. So, it sounds very strange, because our entire model of thinking is a sequential model of thinking: progressive, increasing, deductive, logical, reasonable... and here we are taking a leap outside of that, saying that there is a Reality outside the known. There is a space that is not there, there is a place that is not there, there is Something that is not something.

So, having an approach to the Truth of That which is your Being is something possible when we have an approach to the investigation of what we are not or what we are in this apparent being, in this appearance of being that we are. Investigating this appearance of being – which is this being that we are in the apparent model, in the model of an identity, in the model of an “I,” of an identity that separates itself from life, that separates itself from existence – investigating this identity, this “me,” this person, realizing this whole programmed model of being someone, of psychological internal movement, becoming aware of it, this is being able to go beyond that. So, the Truth about Self-Awareness discards the illusion of this “I,” this “me,” this ego, this one who has to know something about himself, since this “himself” is not real. But it is when the emptying of this oneself, this “I”, of all this content happens – which is what gives formation to this psychological movement, this continuity in time – when this ends, Something emerges. As this Something is not part of the known, it is not something. As this Something is not part of time, it is not in a certain place.

Notice, Gilson, the implications of what we are saying. This goes against everything that, culturally, we learn. Including this so-called “religious life,” in the sense of this religiosity of organized religions. Here we are working with you on the Truth of your Being, which is the Divine Truth revealing itself. In this sense, our work points out a religious life, but not a life of religious practices, nor of religious beliefs, nor of religious customs, nor of following doctrines.

We are discovering the Truth of That We Are, which is the Reality of God present, being the Nature of your Being, the Nature of the Truth of That which is, really, you. And this is present in this new space, in this new place. So, we use speech and use known expressions, but always signaling outside the known. So, this is our work, this is our approach. Discovering the Truth of your Being is possible in the Flourishing of your Divine Nature, which is the Truth of Meditation.

GC: Master, we have a question that is related to this, from Sandra. She made the following comment: “Joel Goldsmith talks about the nature of error. Would you talk more about that?” Can the Master talk a little more about the Master's view of the nature of error?

MG: Illusion! Illusion is the nature of the error. Now, I put it my way, I want you to be patient in following it. Joel has a vision and if you are approaching these lines of ours, you may have already noticed that our way of approaching all of this may be a little different, or even very different. We are not here repeating what Joel said, nor studying what Joel said. I share with you from That which is clearly a vision here, of direct perception in understanding this Reality from this Space that has revealed itself here.

So, it's a mistake, Gilson, for us to also try to understand what the other person said. It's not what the other said, don't do that! Don't try to understand what we are saying. Go deeper, go deeper, from what we are saying to a direct vision of what you learn, what you perceive.

What I have noticed, Gilson, is that people spend a lot of time in their lives theorizing about what they read, what they listen to, what they learn in books. All of this occurs because they remain only at an intellectual level of words, with these representations of mental symbols inside the head. So, this is still part of the cultural heritage of the conditioned intellect itself. We have to let go of this conditioned intellect, we have to go beyond this intellect, and this only becomes possible when we move from what others have said to a direct perception of what they point to.

So, here, our invitation is for you to understand this in a direct way, without intermediaries, apprehending the Truth about yourself, discarding the illusion of this “yourself.” Then, you have a Revelation of That which is your Real Being. It reveals the Truth to you, communicates the Truth to you, grants you the Truth of Wisdom. So, what is this illusion? What is this error? A direct observation shows you that this is present while the illusion of an identity is sustained in living, in life. Contact with Divine Reality is possible when the Beauty of Meditation, like a Sacred Perfume, like a Divine Perfume, takes over your life, takes over your existence.

The secret to the Awakening of Wisdom, to the Truth of Revelation, consists of approaching ourselves through Self-Awareness, in this encounter with the Truth of Meditation. Then, this Enlightenment flourishes, this Awakening, this Natural State of Being, which is Intelligence, which is Love, Freedom, Wisdom, Bliss, and Peace. There are different names for this Natural State free from confusion, suffering, and problems. That is the Beauty of an encounter like this, of an invitation to dive into ourselves, into this Understanding of the Truth about ourselves. It's basically this, that's it basically.

GC: Master, could you talk a little more about this Self-Awareness? Because the Master always reiterates that it is not necessary to study the scriptures, what other masters have said, what you yourself say, but rather this study of oneself, this Self-Awareness. And it is very common to talk about self-awareness, as it is seen in general, as analyzing oneself, and the Master brings a different view on this. Can the Master talk a little more about this Truth of Self-Awareness?

MG: Self-Awareness is the awareness of how you work, it is not the purpose of learning – listen – it is not the purpose of learning from yourself who you are, as someone would put that expression out there. It's not that. Here, Self-Awareness is just discovering how to observe your reactions. So, the word “learn,” I have put it in a way that is also different from what people use out there. It is the word “learn,” the word “self-awareness,” and several other expressions. This Self-Awareness is the awareness of discarding this pattern of “you,” how you see yourself, how you show yourself to the world.

This requires approaching a perspective that is not introspection, which is not self-evaluation – self-evaluation, introspection, with the purpose of making changes in the person's behavior, in this personality. In general, people use the expression “self-awareness” in this way, knowing yourself to make a change in yourself in that person. It's not that. Self-Awareness is becoming aware of your reactions right now. Every gesture, every word, every thought, feeling, emotion… be aware of it! It is not to do something with what is being seen. There is a great Power, there is a great Presence in this attention, in this mindfulness of looking at one's own reactions of this center, which is the “I,” the ego. This is our way of learning about ourselves. Looking, just looking, without that center that is the “I.”

For example, when you look at a thought in yourself and you don't like it, it means you are not looking. You are analyzing, condemning, judging, comparing. We have done this; this is not Self-Awareness! Seeing a thought in yourself, and you don't like the thought, and you change that thought pattern, someone out there calls that “self-awareness.” It's not self-awareness! This is the modification of a model already pre-established by the ego and the ego is imposing a new model on that one. By doing this, you find a new opportunity, you learn to relate better to people, you even get a job promotion. You achieve some things with this type of self-awareness, but that's not what we're talking about here.

We are talking about the awareness of the movement of this center that is the “I,“ all this psychological formation on which the ego has sustained itself. We don't have enough time here to explore this further. We have several videos on the channel showing this. There are dozens, at the moment we already have hundreds of videos. In fact, more than these videos, a wonderful invitation is to be in an online (meeting) to understand this, not intellectually, to internally verify the Real meaning of the Truth about Self-Awareness. Becoming aware of the movement of the center, which is the “I,” without doing anything with it, just placing this Attention, this energy of Attention, of Consciousness. Recognizing that thought does not have a thinker, a feeling does not have someone to feel it, an emotion does not have someone in it, this is Self-Awareness. So, you end up with this separation, with this duality between thought and thinker, between the feeling and the one who feels, between emotion and the one who is moved. Then, the pattern of this “me,” this “I,” is broken.

This is an extraordinary way, for example, Gilson, to get rid of habits and addictions in a very natural way, bringing attention to this movement of the “I,” the ego. As I'm putting it here, we don't have any more time. People want to free themselves from addictions and bad habits, a thought, a feeling, or any other type of addictive behavior. Attention, Consciousness, Presence, this destroys this condition in a very natural, effortless way! This is Self-Awareness.

This becomes possible in this look without the observer, in this perceiving without this element that is the “I” perceiving, in this feeling without this “I” getting involved in this feeling. This approach is direct, this is Self-Awareness. When this reveals itself, there is the clear space for the Truth of Silence, of the Power of Presence that Meditation reveals. Without this, there is no Real Meditation happening; and when this is here, there is the Truth of Meditation present, already together with Self-Awareness. And another aspect of Meditation is the Silence that is present in it.

GC: Gratitude, gratitude, Master, our time has already passed. Thank you for this videocast. For those of you who are watching the video, leave a “like,” make a comment, if you are not subscribed to the channel yet, subscribe. The observer, the thing observed. Psychological escape. Observe without the observer. Self-awareness

The purpose of these meetings is to bring us Real clarity about life – the life we take, the life we know, the life we are situated within. We need to be clear about the meaning of all this.

Dissatisfaction is common among us. Human beings carry within themselves an internal state of dissatisfaction, and this dissatisfaction has different expressions particular to each person, however, they are always present; and there is a search, there is a search for an end to this dissatisfaction. And here I want to talk to you about the futility of this search, this quest.

This may sound strange to you, because we were educated, within our culture, within our society, within our world – this is, in fact, an internal conditioning that we have, a psychological conditioning that we bring – to look for a solution to end this dissatisfaction by accomplishing things.

As the model of achievements that we know, in the physical, material, professional sphere or in several other areas known to us, is through effort, we believe that, also through effort, one day we will put an end to this internal, psychological condition of internal suffering, of psychological suffering, we will put an end to this dissatisfaction.

What we are saying here in these meetings is that this dissatisfaction is present due to this psychological background of inadequacy, inability, inability to deal with life. So, as long as we are maintaining for ourselves a way of perceiving life, the world, the other, ourselves within this principle of psychological conditioning, of psychological approach to existence, this dissatisfaction will continue to be present.

And this dissatisfaction is what for A, B or C has a specific meaning, has a certain meaning. One talks about the pain of loneliness, others talk about anguish, others talk about existential suffering or existential pain, depression, syndromes, fears. Everyone has a way of approaching this dissatisfaction with themselves. And one thing we've been doing is giving names to these internal states. They are, in fact, internal states of unhappiness, of incompleteness.

And why is this present? Our endeavor here, our interest here with you, is to deepen this, to discover the Real possibility of a life free from psychological suffering. This means a life free from all forms of psychological conditioning. So, what is this conditioning that sustains this suffering? It is the model of the social psychological structure in which we find ourselves.

We learned from our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents – from those who came before us – life through effort, the effort to achieve something, to obtain something. Effort always presupposes the desire to obtain, to achieve. We are dissatisfied now, here with who we are. We are not investigating who we are, but we have an ideal, a projection, an objective. That goal is, through effort, to achieve something different from what is present here.

What we have been saying to you here, what we have tried to investigate with you here is the value of comprehending dissatisfaction. Comprehending dissatisfaction at that moment is dealing with this state of dissatisfaction at that moment. Notice: this is when you can deal with the pain, not after the pain is gone, not before the pain arrives. It is when pain is present that we can deal with the pain, but we have not been doing so.

The way of dealing with suffering is completely wrong, because, culturally, we learn to escape suffering, to escape what makes us suffer at that moment. So, we replace this, which is this pain, this suffering, with something that can console us, comfort us, make us, temporarily, forget the pain.

So, it appears that we are free from pain and, in fact, we are somewhat numb from pain. So, there is no pain at the moment, because we are forgetting ourselves, and we do this as a mechanism, as a strategy, as a way of dealing with pain – a mistaken way of dealing with this suffering, with this dissatisfaction.

So, people engage in all forms of psychological escapes. They are alternatives to forgetting themselves, due to the pain, the dissatisfaction, this suffering now, manifesting itself at this moment. So, it is through effort that we want to achieve something different from that. We do not approach, for example, the suffering of envy.

Our behavior is curious. We are worried about the envy that others have of us, we do not realize that envy is something present in this psychological model of being “someone.” This human being that we are is envious. You say, “No, I don’t feel jealous.” Look closely at this and you will realize that, like any human being, psychologically – unless you are really free of this sense of “I,” of ego – you carry envy.

So, the envy that others have of me and the envy that I have of others are, basically, suffering. We don't know how to look at this here, at this instant. This is a cause of psychological suffering and dissatisfaction. So, thought has opinions about it, ideas about it and thus creates an ideal in the future to get rid of this psychological condition.

We believe that it is through effort that we will achieve the purpose of being free of this envy that we feel and this pain, also of envy, that the other causes for me, for this “I,” for this ego. So, we want to get rid of envy that the other feels towards me and we want to get rid of the envy that I feel towards the other through an idea, through a purpose, through an objective, through an effort. So, we have, because we have ideas about it, an ideal of freedom from envy or jealousy.

The pain is here, but “one day I will be free from jealousy, I will strive for that.” “I feel angry, but one day I will be free of anger, I will strive for that.” Here we need to figure out how to deal with this state in this moment, right now; with suffering now, with dissatisfaction now. This is what we have been talking about with you here, this is what we have explored with you in these meetings.

Discovering how we work at this moment is the great secret of going beyond this psychological condition of internal conditioning, of suffering, of fear, of envy, of jealousy, the issue of anger, of dissatisfaction. All that we are here and now, to become aware of it, to have an approach through Self-Awareness, recognize it without effort. It's not about wanting to do something with what comes up, but just being aware of it.

Notice how important it is to have a new approach to these psychological aspects that give us this dissatisfaction, which brings this dissatisfaction, which causes this dissatisfaction in us, this pain in us, this suffering in us. Dealing with it now, dealing with it in a Real way is looking, not with the ideal of becoming different, of getting rid of it in the future, of getting a new condition tomorrow for that; it is now.

The question is: How to look at this? In general, we are seeing it in ourselves, but we are not looking at it. There is a difference between seeing and looking. You see it from an idea, a belief, a concept. You see from a viewpoint of an opinion, a liking or disliking of what you see in yourself. This is the common way we have of seeing what is happening within us: we are seeing it. This seeing is not looking.

We are seeing it, we are seeing it and suffering from this, because we want to do something, because we have a different ideal for ourselves. “I cannot be envious, I cannot be jealous, I cannot be ambitious or greedy – religiously that is wrong. That’s not being spiritual, that’s not a moral thing.”

So, we have a look that is not a clear look, it is just a seeing, a seeing based on a concept, an idea, a model within a cultural formation of condemnation, of rejection. So we are always seeing it with condemnation, rejection or approval.

Either we condemn what we are seeing in ourselves or we justify it. Some people justify their aggression, their violence, they justify these forms of desires and fears; other people condemn this in themselves, and all of this is cultural, it is something learned within the cultural, religious, philosophical, spiritualist, and psychological vision.

So, we are always looking without actually being aware of what a clear look is, because we are always seeing from that seeing. It's like when I put on glasses and look at something: if the glasses are colored, it seems to me the same color as the glasses, the lenses of the glasses.

So, we have a specific way of approaching life that is completely wrong. It is possible to look, and this looking is to observe without the observer. It is possible to look, and this look, notice, is a look where the “I,” the ego, this “me,” this observer does not enter. So, it is possible for us to become aware of it through our eyes without “someone” involved in it. So, it's not about seeing, inspecting, condemning, rejecting. Here it is about looking without the “I.”

When you look without the “I,” there is a look without that “you”; and when that look is present, something new happens. If I come into direct contact with envy, without this “I,” this element that wants to get rid of envy or wants to justify envy does not enter. Then, a clear vision is shown of this psychological condition, which is a mere conditioning that comes from the past, which is a memory, it is just an experience being observed without the observer, without the “I,” without the ego.

This is the approach to Meditation, which is Self-Awareness, because it reveals the illusory nature of this center, which is the “I,” the ego. We can only deal with it in this instant, in this moment; It's not before, it's not after. So, what do we need in life? We need to discover how to get closer to ourselves, and that is Self-awareness. This is coming closer to the Truth about Meditation.

True Meditation is here and now, in this instant. You don't set aside a moment to observe the mind. Observation of the mind requires the presence of a gaze free from the observer. This has nothing to do with the posture of the body and a specific time to meditate, but it is now, moment by moment, when you become aware of the thinker, aware that thought is the thinker, when you become aware of the sufferer, realizing that this sufferer is suffering itself, when you become aware of the envious one knowing immediately that this envious one is envy itself, there is no separation.

And when there is no separation between the observer and the thing observed, the envious one and envy, jealousy and the jealous one, when this separation no longer exists, because there is this look, this simple and direct look, this psychological condition dissolves. This is the end of dissatisfaction, this is the end of suffering, this is the end of fear. Something new emerges. This new Something is present due to the flourishing of Real Meditation. Are you with me?

To have such an approach to life is to have an understanding of the beauty of life, without this center, which is the “I,” the ego. There is no dissatisfaction, there is no suffering. This is our work; this is our proposal here for you. We are investigating this in online meetings, which take place here on weekends. You can find our WhatsApp link here in the video description to participate in these meetings. In addition, we have face-to-face meetings and also retreats.

If what you just heard is something that makes some sense to you, I want to invite you: leave your “like” here, subscribe to the channel and join the group. OK? And we'll see each other. Thanks for the meeting and until next time!

How to get rid of thoughts? Turiya, the fourth state. The meaning of life. Spiritual Awakening.

The point is that we don't seem to understand the meaning of all this. Here I refer to life. What is the meaning of life? What are these problems that we face every day? Why are they here, why are they present? There is something here that we must have a very clear, very vivid, very direct, very real approach to. We are in life and we have a challenge in life: it is to comprehend what we are, what you are within this context. The non-comprehension of this is what has established all forms of disorientation, complication, suffering, and disorder in our lives.

The point is that we are in life to have a Comprehension of ourselves. Note, people sometimes ask: what is the meaning of life? Yes, we need to Comprehend the meaning of life, as long as this comprehension is not verbal, intellectual. All our efforts in the search for understanding, for a comprehensive approach to something, in general, are merely intellectual, and this is not the way to approach life. We cannot approach life intellectually, through words. So, if my purpose is to listen to something about life or read something about life, it remains on an intellectual level. There is only one way to get closer to the Truth of the meaning of life.

What is the meaning of life? If that is the question, there is only one way to get closer to this: it is by living, having a direct experience of Reality, which is living. Intellectually, verbally, through words, all we have are symbols, images. We are very attached to verbal formulations, descriptions, concepts, models of ideas – this explains all this pattern in us of being very easily attached to beliefs. So, we go from this belief to that other belief, from this model to that other model; then, intellectually, we are always established on beliefs. The point is that understanding from beliefs, concepts, words, ideas, is not Comprehension.

So, let's see here, clearly, what is the difference between having a Comprehension of the Truth about who we are, which represents the Comprehension of the Truth of what living is and, therefore, the Real meaning of life – perceiving the difference between this and the purely intellectual approach is fundamental. Thus, it is not about, intellectually, spiritually – in the sense that people give to that word out there – or philosophically, or theoretically, theologically, having a Comprehension of What is the Truth that we are and the Truth about who God is.

So, for many, having a comprehension of the meaning of life is having a religious approach, but religious in the sense of this well-known spirituality, which we hear about every day, religious practices, religious systems, or theological beliefs. Therefore, it’s not that either. The Truth of the Comprehension of Life lies in the Comprehension of how we function, the Comprehension of how our mind works. The Comprehension of What you are, is the Comprehension of what Life is.

For us there is this “my life” and “life,” so we talk about life as something separate from who we are. “Let’s understand philosophical life,” “let’s understand divine life,” “let’s understand spiritual life,” “let’s understand the life of relationships, of human relationships,” “let’s understand professional life” … We divide life, then there is this “I” and there is life; there is “my life,” “your life,” the “divine life,” the “human life,” the “spiritual life,” the “philosophical life,” the “professional life” … Then, we are dividing, dividing everything.

And here we are telling you something that may sound quite challenging: there is only one Life and that Life is you in your Being. That Being that is you, being the Reality of Life, includes all these other aspects of Manifestation, of Existence. Comprehending this, not the search for a particular understanding of one of these aspects of this so-called “life,” “religious life,” “spiritual life,” “human life,” “professional life,” but the Comprehension of Life, the Comprehension of this living, is the Comprehension of the Divine Reality. Because the Unique Life present is the Life of God, of that nameless, indescribable thing, which is beyond this dream.

Notice – as we have been talking about here, we have several videos on the channel showing you this – what we call “life” in this humanist aspect, is just the dream of an identity that is the “I,” the ego, present, having a private life. So much so that we use the expression “my life.” The point is that there is no “my life,” there is only Life, and that life cannot be personal, private. The life of a center that is the “I” – this “I” sees itself separate from this “you” and sees itself separate from everything around it – this “I” believes to be alive, being someone within the experience of living. All of this needs to be seen, needs to be investigated.

So, to see this, to become clearly aware of this, to investigate this, is to make the Comprehension possible; and when there is Comprehension, we have Liberation, Liberation from this dream of separate identity. There is no sense of an “I” with its life, an “I” within its world, an “I” within its dream, an “I” within its existence, an “I” separate from the other. This “I” is the dream, this “I” is this so-called “my life,” this “I” is this so-called “other.” There is no separation, that's what needs to be seen!

The end to this illusion is Liberation, it is Liberation from the dream, from the dream of the “I.” So, we are in direct contact with the Immensity, the indescribable Reality of Life, which is the Reality of God. Every human problem, every problem of dissatisfaction, of incompleteness, of unhappiness for human beings is exactly in this principle, in this principle of duality, where there is “me and life,” “me and the world,” “me and the other,” “me and my thoughts,” “me and my feelings.”

That keeps us within a psychological condition of existence, where an identity is present, seeing oneself as an agent, someone who is responsible for thoughts, feelings, actions, for the own private life. This pattern of existence is self-centered, it is pure egocentric self-interest. Therefore, our actions are egocentric actions, thoughts are egocentric, desires are egocentric, fear is present because of this egocentrism, anxiety is present because of this pattern, this pattern of envy, of searching for more, of ambition.

So, the psychological condition of the human being is, naturally, of psychological disorder. This is reflected in all areas of this so-called “private life” of this “I.” Will there be an end to this? Is it possible for us to discover a life free from this “I”? And, of course, free from this center that has its particular life in this dream of separate identity? This dream of separate identity places us apart from the Unique Reality, which is the Reality of God.

Here, we are telling you that the approach to Truth, the Comprehension of how you function, the Truth of this, is the Truth of Self-awareness. The Comprehension of this Truth, which is Self-awareness, reveals a Natural State of Being which is Love, Freedom, Happiness, which is your Natural State of Meditation. In this state, this Liberation is present, this Freedom from this dream, from this egocentric life, from this private life, from these different patterns of divisions, representations, and egocentric models of being someone in Existence, at this instant, at this moment.

Here, what we are seeing together is the possibility of One, Unique, and Real Life; not about someone's private life. Perceive the Beauty of what we are saying: this incompleteness of being is the incompleteness of the psychological condition of egoic identity, in the absence of the Revelation of the Real meaning of Life. Work is necessary for each of us. Your appearance in this scenario that we call “human life,” your appearance in this scenario is for a Discovery, it is for an Acknowledgement. I would say that you were born to discover that you were never born, that this is all a dream that ends when the dreamer ends.

It's not that, literally, the dream disappears when that dreamer disappears. If that dreamer disappears, this dream is the Totality of Life, but there is no longer that element that is the “I,” the ego, the dreamer who sees itself as a separate entity from life, creating all these sections, these divisions. Once this has been created by the “I,” being sustained by the “I,” in this self-centeredness, one is unhappy, one is dissatisfied, one is in separation and therefore in conflict. Why do I feel this pain of loneliness? It is the pain of isolationism that the ego has, that the ego carries.

The Reality of your Being is the One, Unique Reality, but it is not isolated, it is not separate. It is the sense of an “I,” of an ego, which sees itself separate, in need of something, of a completeness that it never achieves in external achievements; and because of that, pain is present. So, it doesn't matter if you are famous, rich, powerful; if you are someone, you see yourself separate from what you have, from what you possess, and, therefore, fear is present, suffering is present, the longing for more – which is suffering – is present, the fear of losing what you have or believe you have, is present. Then, it is in this sense of separation that suffering lies in this dream, where the dreamer is the center of its particular dream, of its illusory dream. The end for this dreamer is the end of the “I.”

That’s when all this representation of life, of existence, is a simple dream, but it is not the private dream of the “I,” of the ego; it is the Divine dream, it is the dream of God. Then, a State becomes possible in this Realization when thought ends, when we have the answer to the question “How to get rid of thoughts?” The Comprehension of this answer is the Comprehension of the Real meaning of Life, of the Real Divine Life, of the Real Life of God, for each one of us, because to be moving in thought is to be moving in the dream.

A life beyond the “I” is a life beyond thought, beyond this illusory center of egoic identity. A practical and objective thought still remains: your name, your address, someone's name, professional occupation... all of this requires the presence of thought. That's not what we're talking about, we're talking about the end of the illusion of an identity separate from life. We are talking about the end of the “I,” about the end of the ego, about the end of the illusion of a present identity.

In ancient India, the sages called this State of Being Pure Consciousness, free from this dream, Turiya, the state of Turiya, the fourth possible state. We have several videos here on the channel investigating this with you. This Natural State of Being Pure Consciousness, where there is only one Unique Life, not the life of the “I,” but the Real Life of God, is the state of Turiya, your Natural State. So, you are living beyond the vigil state; beyond the dream state, that dream you have at night, when your body sleeps; and beyond this state of deep sleep. So, there is a fourth possible state, which is the state of Turiya, it is the fourth possible state.

So, this dream state, of sleep and vigil, occurs in this particular dream of the “I,” of the ego. If this dreamer disappears, something new is present, that something new is the Presence of the Reality of your Being. Some also call this “Spiritual Awakening” or “Awakening of Consciousness,” it is your Natural Divine State possible in this life. This is the end of all confusion; it is the end of all suffering.

For this purpose, we have online meetings here, which take place on weekends. It's really something much bigger than a meeting like this one, or two, or three in a video. They take place on weekends; we have two days together. You can find our WhatsApp link here in the video description to participate in these meetings. In addition, we have face-to-face meetings and also retreats. If what you have just heard is something that makes sense to you, go ahead and leave your “like” here, subscribe to the channel, OK? Please write in the comment: “Yes, it makes sense.” Alright? And we'll see each other. Thanks for the meeting and until next time.

Joel Goldsmith | Invisible Supply | Satsang | Self-Awareness | Wisdom | Master Gualberto

GC: Hello everyone! We are here for another videocast. Again, Master Gualberto is here with us. Thank you very much, Master, for this meeting.

Master, today I'm going to read an excerpt from Joel Goldsmith's book called “Invisible Supply.” In this book, Joel talks about love in an excerpt. He says the following: “There are several forms of love: marital love, paternal love, filial love, fraternal love, love for neighbors and the community. Love is a major factor in our existence.” Master, can you tell us what love is?

MG: Very good. What can be described, Gilson, categorized, put into words, can only be described within a model already known to all of us. And this model, already known to all of us, if investigated, we will discover that it is not Real Love. What is the Truth of Love is not within what thought, in us, can identify, within its model of experience.

So, the best way to get closer to the Truth of Love, Real Love, the best way to get closer to It is by investigating what this Love is not. And, of course, these experiences that we have in our relationship with others, experiences that are based, in general, within our relationships, based on pleasure and pain, likes and dislikes, satisfaction and dissatisfaction – this is the level of relationship that we have within our experiences with each other – this cannot be the Truth of Love.

This is based on relationship experiences, which are based on interests we have within relationships. There is only one way to get closer to the Reality of Love: it is by discarding the illusion present within our relationships. Note, Gilson, that our relationships are self-centered relationships, because it is typical, it is the structure and nature of the ego to live in its self-centeredness, and it is interested, in fact, always, in itself! So, the contact we have with each other, if it is a pleasant, enjoyable, satisfying, romantic, sentimental, pleasant contact, we call that love.

We use this word without actually knowing what it means, because our contact with the other, based on the illusion of who we are... Since you don't know who you are, you also don't know who the other is; since you don't know how you, in this “me,” in this ego, behave, your contact with the other is always a contact, in fact, of some form of exploration. But I want to repeat this: if there is satisfaction, fulfillment, gratification, exchange… this sentimental, emotional, romantic thing, we call it love. But the greatest proof that there is no Love in this is that, when this is denied, when the interest of the ego is confronted – and this happens all the time in our relationships – what we call “love” turns into something else.

So, notice how much this “love” we have in our relationships – and that is what we are doing: we have to investigate the illusion of what we call love to then get closer to What Real Love is –, in this relationship we have with each other, in this so-called “love,” it is loaded with suspicion, insecurity, psychological, sentimental, emotional dependence… It is loaded with jealousy, possession, control. So, what we call love is not real: love for the family, love for the nation, love in a closer relationship between husband and wife, between parents and children... All of this needs to be investigated, because as long as there is the sense of ego present within experience, being the center of that experience, Love, Truth will be far away.

What we have is an egoic relationship complicity; this is not Love! Definitely, what we have called love is something heavy, with aggression, violence, and fear. So, here, the first thing is to discover, within ourselves, an internal state free of the sense of “I,” of the ego, in this contact with others, observing our reactions… Realizing this in ourselves! That’s when, yes, Gilson, we have the chance, the divine opportunity, to free ourselves from this center, this ego, this “me,” this “I.”

I have called it the “center” in us, because it is the center of experiences. All the experiences around it are for its gratification, for it to fulfill itself in some way. So, the real way we have, the true way we have of getting closer to the Truth about Love, in our relationships, is by studying ourselves, understanding what goes on inside each one of us: why we say what we say; what is behind this way of looking and thinking about him, about her; how we react to the instant, to the present moment in this contact; to understand how we create images within relationships…

If you hold an image of who I am and I hold an image of who you are – and that is what actually happens in relationships – we do not have the slightest possibility of understanding the presence of Love within that relationship, because my way of approaching you and your way of approaching me will be self-centered, self-interested, full of fear, suspicion, and imagination, because that's what we do.

So, can we access the Truth of Love? Yes, Gilson, when the ego is not there. We are unaware of the beauty of an ego-free encounter. We cannot expect others to meet us without their ego. What we can do is assume the truth of this sense of an identity present here, which is this illusory sense of an “I,” creating problems in these relationships. All we have to do is study ourselves. These relationships are mirrors where we see ourselves, where we find ourselves, where we perceive our fears, our conflicts, our contradictions.

A couple has lived for fifteen years, for twenty years together, but the only encounter they have is an encounter with a certain intimacy at times. Most of the day – or the days they have together – is spent exchanging barbs. Some are subtle and others are very declared, they are the barbs of the ego, and this is present because of images. So, we use expressions like “I love you,” “I like you a lot,” “I can’t live without you,” but all of this is merely sentimental, romantic. We bring flowers, but we also bring our suspicions, our fears. We also bring the conflicts of our internal states of stress, anxiety, fear, and worry into our relationships… And all of this is, in fact, the absence of Love, it is not the presence of Love.

So, by becoming aware of what the absence of Love is, we can discover something outside of that, but as long as we are trying to sustain this psychological condition of being “someone” within a relationship, without paying attention to ourselves, without knowing ourselves, without this vision of Self-Awareness, without having an approach of this Real Silence – which occurs in a very natural way when Meditation is present, when Meditation happens –, without the presence of this Perfume of Meditation in ourselves, in our relationships, we do not have Love, we don't know what Love is. We can live fifty years, sixty years, in a relationship, and all we are – which is what the other is – is conflict, is a veiled form of suffering.

So, we cannot confuse things, Gilson. I am not denying that, in our relationships, we have companionship, we have complicity, we have some sacrifices, we have a search for negotiation, understanding, adjustment, but none of this is Real Love. When Love is present, the ego is not. And there is no such thing as divine love, human love, collective love, love for the country, love for family... There is only Love, and if Love is present, your life has this Perfume, has this Beauty. Everyone who approaches you realizes that there is something different there – it is the Presence of something indescribable, which is the Presence of God's Truth. God is the only Reality, which is Love present when the ego is not. So, it’s not about “I love you,” it’s about the Love present in this Loving. Love present in this Loving is not “I love you.”

So, yes, a life in Love is possible, a relationship with others without the illusion of an identity present within this experience. When Love is present in this experience, we have the Truth of “experiencing the Beauty of Love,” whether with family, with children, with friends… Now, first of all, Gilson, in yourself. If there is the Understanding of this Love there, because there is this Freedom to Be this Only Reality, which is the Reality of God, this Love is shareable, then It is present.

It is not about this search to be loved, this search to love, this intention of wanting to love, this ideal of loving. All of this is in thought, it is in the future, it is in a projection that the ego makes. Love is here and now or It is not! To become aware of what you are, right now, stripping yourself of the illusion of an identity within this experience, in this contact with “him,” with “her,” with life around you... The truth is, when your Being flourishes, the Reality of this Love shows itself. And It doesn’t make a fuss, It doesn’t say “I’m here!”, but It has its Aroma, It has its Presence. So, Love is the only thing that matters in life; in fact, Life is Real when Love is present.

Otherwise, what we have called life is conflict, it is a contradiction, are relationships. Human beings handle this as best they can do. When you are not happy or in an absurd state of unhappiness, you create an idea, a belief of finding this happiness in a new relationship or relationships. This is something completely false, and this is because we lack the Truth of this Being. The Realization of this Being, which is You, is the Realization of this Love that is present, in this moment, as the Presence of Truth is here in this moment, which is the Truth of God. That's it.

GC: Master, within this “relationship” subject, we have a question, here, from Wellington. He asks, exactly within this experience of this Real Meditation, the practice of Presence: “How does this real experience impact relationships? If possible, I would like you to talk about marital relationships, both for those who are single and for those in relationships.”

MG: So, Gilson, we cannot separate one thing from another. We cannot first find Love outside of relationships and then place Love within relationships. The Realization of the Truth of Love present in this encounter, within relationship, is the Truth of Divine Revelation, of God's Revelation. So, how does this work involve our relationships? In fact, this work is simply impossible without our true relationships.

The relationships we have with each other do not suffer a real impact from the Divine Presence, because they are egocentric relationships, relationships centered on the “I.” We do not approach each other by having, in this meeting; seeing, in this meeting; perceiving, in this meeting, the opportunity to have a revelation of our own ego. Our relationships, which are relationships between egos, are actually conflicting, full of suffering, full of problems. As I just put it, there may be a certain appreciation, affection, care, attention, but the ego is unhappy in itself. So, when it meets the other, who is, in fact, “ego” itself, there is the presence of the ego, the ego in conflict!

Becoming aware of yourself, in this contact with others, is working on the Divine Truth, it is working on the Truth of God. It is essential that we discover a life without an image of the other. What are these images we make of him or her? When she pleases me, I like her; When she displeases me, I don't like her. We spend a lot of time in a relationship where, throughout this time, we are the experiencer, cultivating experiences of pleasure and pain in that relationship. These experiences of pleasure and pain from this image that “I” make of him or her and “sustain” this within this relationship. And if this is present, we are under an impact. Not under the impact of Grace, but under the impact of confusion, disorder, suffering, and fear. So, this is the condition of insanity present in our relationships.

Working on yourself is becoming aware of the movement of your own “I,” your own ego, in this contact with him or her. It is not about managing the other, controlling the other, manipulating the other, making the other an object of fulfillment, satisfaction, and desire, as, in the ego, we have done. So, how can we count on the Presence of Grace, on the Presence of Truth in our relationships? How can we count on the Presence of Love in our relationships, if we do not observe what is happening, if we are not aware of what is happening within each one of us, in this contact?

Becoming aware of this requires Self-Awareness, it requires Meditation; Gilson, it requires, above all, the Power of Grace.

I have invited people to participate in these meetings. We need a very powerful element to make this possible. Hearing a speech like this is not enough! You may find it interesting; you may find it beautiful; you may find it really cool. Here, I have invited you to delve into this, to delve deeper into this. These meetings, which are online meetings and in-person meetings, have this purpose.

So, we open ourselves to something mysterious, extraordinary, which is the very Power of the Presence of Grace that is communicated in these encounters, which begins to make this possible in our relationships, because this is something that becomes possible within each of us. From an internal change, our relationships change. This Perfume, this Presence… yes, it brings an extraordinary impact on our lives, when we open ourselves to this Grace, when we open ourselves to this Presence, this Mystery. OK?

GC: Master, it's impressive and revealing: when I had this first contact with the Master in these meetings, exactly the Satsangs, which are these weekend intensives, where the Master shares this vision of what this True Love is... and then, with this Grace that the Master is, somehow an understanding comes up. And it's hilarious how much this “love” of the ego, in these roles it plays in life, is a complete identification with an image: image of a wife, image of a son, image of a patriot, etc. And it is only, really, only in this plunge with the Master that we are able to see the madness this so-called “love” is. This is nothing about Love, it is always an attachment, it is an identification, this self-image. Now, with this Grace, this Silence that the Master shares, it is possible to understand what this Love actually is.

MG: What we call love, Gilson, is feeling, emotion, and sensation. Feeling, emotion, and sensation, notice, are still part of thought. Notice the memories arising within you. These memories are full of feelings, emotions, and sensations… These memories are thoughts. So, when you have a memory of someone you love, what you have is a feeling, an emotion, and a sensation, linked to thought. This cannot be the Reality of Love, but this is what we call love. So, you're telling me you only love who you remember!

See, we link our thoughts to the Truth; thought is not a truth! Thought is just a memory of past experience. If the past experience was pleasurable, rewarding, fulfilling, happy, so the ego calls love the illusion of satisfaction. We don't know, Gilson, what Love is! Love is the absence, exactly, of thought. The presence of Love dispenses with thought! Thought is not necessary for this Love, but it is what we know, it is what we learned in our model of the world, in our model of life.

So, we live within this “love and hate” duality, always based on thoughts. The memory of those who “I” don’t like, of those who “mistreated” me, of those who did “me” harm, is a memory, too, full of feeling, emotion, and sensation. It's a thought! This is all an image! “From this person, I feel hatred or aversion, or I want them far away from me.” This is how this movement of thought is in us, this is how we are working. This model of thought, which is what gives structure to the ego… We need to get rid of it, Gilson. As long as it is present, we will be living this love and this hate, based on memories, remembrances, and thoughts.

And what do we have from people? An illusion! A very private and personal imagination. The image that “I” have about you is not the Truth about You, it is just what thought, here, constructed. This construction, this imagination, is the model that gives formation to this identity that is the “I,” that “I” am. It's all very simple. However, this thing is not simple at all. Becoming aware of this requires an observation approach to how you, internally, work. Wisdom, Gilson, which is this Revelation of your Being, is born when Awakening flourishes, and It flourishes due to Self-Awareness.

So, when there is Self-Awareness, there is Wisdom. With the Presence of Wisdom, we have the Truth of Love revealing itself, of Real Love, because there is an end to this model of thought in which the “I,” the ego, is having its continuity within it. Is this clear?

GC: Perfect! Gratitude, Master! We've come to an end. So, for those of you watching the video: leave a “like,” leave a comment... You can ask questions in the comments that we will address in the next videos. And for those who want to delve deeper into this investigation of what this True Love is, seeing in themselves this falseness of this “love” that the Master reported, here is the invitation to come to face-to-face and online meetings, which are Satsangs. In the video description and in the first pinned comment, there will be a WhatsApp group link for more information about these meetings.

Master, gratitude.

How to deal with thoughts? The conflict of duality. Advaita: Non-Duality. What is thought?

The question is: “How to deal with thoughts?” See, we are faced with a very important question. We cannot underestimate a question like this. And why not? Because in our life, if you look closely, you will see that thought is in everything.

We live in thought; we live by thought. It is the one that directs our speech, it is the one that directs our actions, it is the one that directs all behavior in relationships, it is the one that directs a large part of our feelings. So, our thinking, and this involves this model of thinking – at least thinking as we have access, as we know it – is directing our lives.

So, our actions need to be understood. We do not understand what our actions are. Our feelings need to be understood. Our emotions, the way we feel, the way we talk to him or her, the way we relate, all of this involves thoughts. We want to discover with you here, at this meeting, what this thinking means.

So, how to deal with thoughts represents what thinking is, what feeling is, and what living is. If this is not clear to you, suffering is present, disorder is present, confusion is present, disorientation is present, conflicting actions are present. And all of this is present because psychologically there is suffering, there is disorder, there is confusion, there is the absence of Intelligence; and all this due to a lack of understanding of how the mind works, of how thought works. In other words, we don't know how to deal with thought.

We don’t know how to deal with thought because we don’t understand that there is in us the sense of “someone” present in thought. This “someone” is the idea we have of a thinker, a doer, an accomplisher of things, of “someone” present feeling, of “someone” present in emotion, of “someone” present in a relationship.

Not understanding what thought is, is not understanding the movement of the “I,” which is thought. So, let's ask another question to investigate this first one. In addition to this: “What is thinking?”, which involves dealing with thought, we have to ask the question itself about what is thought.

First, we have to understand what thought is to understand what the thinker is. Why is this essential? Because without this we are alienated from the Truth of this Being. We use the expression “I” a lot and we only have the imagination of a Being. Notice how curious it is, we use the expression “I,” the pronoun I, and we have the imagination of Being. Truth is different. The only Reality is Being, and this “I” is imagination.

The Reality present in the relationship with the other is the relationship of Being, there is no “I” present in the relationship. This “I” is imagination. Not understanding that this “I” is imagination is the confusion of an identity that is the thinker thinking its thoughts, having its feelings, its emotions, its sensations, and its relationships.

The Truth of That which we are is the Reality of That which is God. The Reality of God is the Reality of Being. This is the Reality of each of us, but the imagination of the “I” is the imagination of the thinker, the experiencer, the observer, the feeler, and the doer; and our Life is situated exactly at this level, because there is no Awakening of Truth.

If Truth Awakens, if Truth Flourishes, there comes the awareness of Real Consciousness, of true Consciousness, which is Being. So, notice what we are saying: we have a consciousness common to everyone, it is the consciousness of the mind, it is the consciousness in the mind, it is the consciousness of the “I.” This is egoic consciousness, it is the consciousness of the “person.”

Observe the entire chaotic, psychological state in which we find ourselves. This is present because we are not living the Truth of Being, but rather the illusion of the thinker, the illusion of the experiencer, the illusion of this “me.” This is where this chaotic state of this uncontrolled, restless, disordered movement of thought is. This is why we ask the question “How to deal with thinking?”, because we have already realized that thought creates a lot of confusion, creates a lot of disorder. And that's simple: it's because it is the basis that guides the life of this center that is the “I,” the ego.

This center, which is the “I,” sees itself separate from the other, sees itself separate from Life, sees itself separate as being the author of actions, sees itself separate from speech as being the one who is speaking, separate from listening as being the one hearing this. All this consists of an illusion, the illusion of the present thinker. But what is this thinker? This thinker is thought itself. You want to control thought, but you are the thinker.

Then, thought itself separates itself as being the thinker to manage, to alter, change, control thought. We don’t know how to deal with thought because we don’t know how to deal with this center that is the “I.” We are not aware that this “I” that wants to deal with thought is thought itself, it is what separates itself as the thinker.

We don't know how to deal with our emotions, we don't realize that these emotions are something that happens in this body-mind, but there is no center for these emotions. This center is thought itself that creates an illusory center, which is the “I,” which wants to deal with emotions. Alright?

That's how we've been working. And why do we work this way? Because we do not know the Truth about ourselves, we do not study the movement of the “I,” which is the thinker, which is the one who separates oneself and says one is feeling, and says one got emotional, and says one is thinking, and says one is doing things.

I know this may sound strange to you at first, but if you look closely, investigate it, you will notice this duality, this “I” being the thinker, separating itself from the thought it has, this “I” being the one that feels, separating itself from the feeling it feels. This separation is what sustains the conflict that we want to get rid of through control.

So, when we ask how to deal with thought, it is because we believe that we are the one responsible for thought, the lord of the thought, and, therefore, the one who can control and manage thought. What is the truth about this? The truth about this is that we are just a memory reaction movement. This memory reaction is thought itself.

When you hear something, when you see something, when you come into contact with an experience, it is the body, the mind, the brain coming into contact with that sound, with what is appearing there or with this experience. There is no “someone” being the “I” in this contact. What we have is a response from the brain that, immediately, reacts, or after some time, a few seconds, reacts to that experience. The illusory sensation of an identity reacting is an imagination.

When a thought arises, because a stimulus arises, a visual stimulus arises, then a thought arises, an auditory stimulus arises, then a thought arises or a feeling arises; and when this appears, due to a condition of brain conditioning, human conditioning, of culture, there is the illusion of “someone” within this experience – a thought, a feeling, an emotion –, whereas, in truth, what is present is a reaction of the brain itself, of the machine itself to that instant, to that present moment due to a stimulus.

There is no such thing as a thinker, there is no such thing as one who is feeling, there is no such thing as one who gets emotional. There is a brain conditioning response and also of body and mind, but there is no “I” present. This can be seen when there is Self-awareness.

To realize the non-existence of the “I,” the non-existence of the ego, the non-existence of the center, to become aware that a thought is just a thought, an emotion is just an emotion, a sensation is just a sensation. If this is realized, as there is no separation, conflict disappears, problem disappears, the suffering disappears.

Realize the beauty of this! Thought is present charged with an idea of a thinker behind it. If thought is pleasant, that thinker wants to sustain that thought; if it is unpleasant, this thinker wants to get rid of that thought. When there is this movement, there is duality and, therefore, conflict, and, therefore, problem. We want to deal with thought, but who is the one who is going to deal with thought?

So, clearly understand this: the thinker is thought, the emotion is the one that is separate as the element that is the “I,” which claims to be emotional. This duality is a game. It is the game of the “me,” the “I,” the ego to sustain itself; it creates this movement, it sustains this movement, it practices this movement. Here the invitation is to learn to look at thought without placing the thinker, looking at the feeling or the emotion.

So, how to deal with thought? By being aware that there is no thinker, it is just a thought. All of our cultural training, of human history, has always been through the effort to deal with thought, or emotion, or feeling, or action. So, we are always supporting the idea of the “I,” the “me,” the ego, to welcome, accept that, to hold on to that experience, or to reject that experience.

So, we don’t know how to deal with thinking, because there comes the “I,” the “me” wanting to do this. Becoming aware of thought, emotion, sensation, and experience without the thinker is the real way of dealing with what is here, in this instant, in this present moment. This ends conflict, this ends problem, because this ends this duality. Is this clear?

We have several videos here on the channel exploring, investigating this with you. This model of separation, of duality, is what sustains the entire problem of the human being, all the suffering for the human being, all this confusion for the human being, and this entire illusion of being able to control thought, being the controller.

When we realize this game of duality, we are free from duality, that is the end of this duality. In India, they call it Advaita, Non-duality, Non-separation, this State of Being where You are living the fullness of Consciousness, free from the “I.” And when This is present, there are no problems with thoughts, because there is no illusion of the thinker; and if there is no illusion of the thinker, this psychological thought – because it is the only type of thought that creates conflict and problems in our life – disappears.

Then, we can deal with thought in living. We need thought on some levels. We can deal with thought, we need thought in a certain way. Your address, your name, the ability to deal with technical, functional work, this requires the presence of thought. At this level, it is necessary, it is present, but now without the center, which is the “I,” the ego, the “me.”

Then, we are freed from this model of psychological thought, which is the thinking that sustains in us envy, fear, jealousy, anxiety, anguish, depression, the feeling of boredom, loneliness, conflict, and of all problems from this center, which is the “I,” the ego, the thinker.

That's our job here. We have online meetings where we are exploring this. More than a video like this lasting a few minutes, we have two days together over the weekend here, delving deeper into this, working with you on questions and answers. So, I want to leave this invitation to you here, it is an opportunity for us to be together and delve deeper into this. Here in the video description, you have our WhatsApp group link to participate in these meetings.

In addition, we have face-to-face meetings and retreats, where we spend a few days together working on this, going deeper, becoming aware of the Truth of who we are. Then, there is the Realization of God's Truth and this is the end of this psychological confusion that thought has produced, that feelings, emotions, and this model of life centered on the “I,” on the ego have created in our lives. So, here's the invitation. If this is something that makes sense to you, leave it here in the comments: “Yes, it makes sense.” Leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. OK? And we'll see each other. Thanks for the meeting and see you soon!

How to overcome fear? How to deal with thoughts? How to get rid of thoughts? Mindfulness.

It becomes essential for each of us to approach life in an intelligent way, in a wise way, in an understanding way. As our life lies within relationships, we need to understand this issue of relationships, especially human relationships. So, we want to discuss with you this issue of human relationships and how to live a life where conflict is not established as the norm, as a rule, as a pattern of life.

In general, what we know as life are relationships, and relationships, in general, in conflict. And why is this present? And why is every form of conflict present in our relationships? And, here, not only the human relationships between “you and me,” between “us and them,” but relationship as a whole. Relationships with objects are mistaken relationships. The relationship with situations, with circumstances, with events… the relationship with life as a whole – not just the relationship between “you and me,” between “us and them” – human relationships – in general, our relationships are conflicting relationships. And why is this present?

We also cannot deny this, we just have to look at this. And actually, there's no way of denying this; the world is in complete uproar, we live in great confusion with each other. So, we have the relationship at home and we have the relationship between cities, the relationship between countries, between nations… the relationship with everyone around us. Why does it occur? Why does it happen? Because these relationships have, as a principle, a movement from a center. Let's clarify this for you now.

First, we have to understand what this center is from which relationships take place: me and you. So, in the relationship with you, I am the center. This “I” is always the center. It is our relationship with the other – whether that other be the world, circumstances, situations, events, accidents, thoughts, emotions, feelings – there is this “I” and this other thing, and with this other thing we relate to. We are always the center of relationships. Then, in our relationships, this “I” is always the center.

The point here is: what does this “I” consist of? Here we have another question, which is why people ask questions like: “How to deal with thoughts?” or “How to get rid of thoughts?” or “What is thought?” Because it has already been realized that thought, in us, is that in which this “I” establishes itself and sustains relationships, establishes relationships, and maintains relationships. Therefore, without an understanding of what thought is and how to deal with thoughts, our relationship with the world, our relationship with others will inevitably be a relationship without Intelligence, without Freedom, where there will be no Understanding. And when this is not present, contradiction, fear, suffering, and conflict are established.

Thus, our relationships are conflicting, because we are internally, psychologically, mentally, in conflict. It has even become ordinary and a general rule to accept these internal psychological states of anguish, contradiction, anxiety... With all forms of fear, we are always dealing within this principle, which is the principle of thought, and this has already been established as something common to everyone. So, we are somewhat accustomed to this condition.

Here, our invitation to you is for a Comprehension of this internal movement within each of us: to become aware of how the mind works, how the thinking in us works, and what dealing with thoughts really means. Because once there is order internally, inwardly, psychologically, within each one of us, once the thinking in us is understood – then, there is a comprehension of what that thinking is and, naturally, what that feeling in us is – our relationship with “him,” with “her,” with the other, with life, with situations, circumstances, and events undergoes a profound transformation, a radical change.

The Comprehension of this is the Awakening of the Truth about ourselves. When there is this Awakening, this Comprehension of how all this is established, it becomes very clear. And if this is clear, suffering ends, confusion ends – I refer to this psychological suffering –, once within each of us the Comprehension of what this movement is takes place, which is the movement of thought. So, let’s see this very clearly here: with the question “what is thought?” We have a Comprehension of what it is to deal with thoughts and we will clarify this.

When we have experiences, we store those experiences in a format within each of us. This format is remembrance. Each and every thought of you is born from remembrance. So, the remembrance of an experience is thought, thought is just a reaction, a response that comes from memory; that memory is the past. So, when we go through experiences, these experiences are stored as remembrances, memories, and that is the past in us. Thus, our response to this moment can only be given based on what we have acquired, such as past experiences, which are remembrances, memories, and, therefore, thoughts.

So, for the question “How to deal with thoughts”? since thought is what is established within relationship – as the main element within the relationship – it is needed that this Comprehension, which is the Comprehension of the past in us, be seen at this instant. When I recognize you, what I have of you is the past, because it is knowledge, memory, it is remembrance. The point here that we need to understand clearly is that whenever I am in contact with you it is a relationship, or in contact with a situation, it is a relationship; with an event, a happening, an experience at this moment, it is a relationship; with an event, a happening, an experience at this moment, it is a relationship; and if I place this past within this instant, within this moment, this past does not do justice to this moment. My contact with you is new, but what I have about you is old. My contact with you is at this instant. This instant never happened, it will never happen again; it is, at this moment, revealing itself as something new.

So, I bring this “I” – which is made up of thoughts, remembrances, memories, past – I bring this movement to this moment, so there is not a perfect relationship, there is an inadequacy in this contact. What the ego, the “I,” this “me” – which is the past – does, is to try, at this moment, to adjust to this moment something that it already brings, something that it already has. Then, “I like you” is the past, “I don’t like you” is the past, “I accept you,” “I don’t accept you” … All this contact at this moment, since it is something that comes from the past, it is not a Free action. If there is no Freedom, notice, there is no Intelligence, there is no Comprehension.

So, Love is absent from our relationships, and if Love is absent and if what is established is this “I,” which is the center within this experience – notice, centered on ourselves – we are self-interested. The entire movement of thought in us, which is the movement of the “I,” is self-centered, egocentric. So, this contact with “you” is to extract, to take out, to find something for “me,” since this “me,” this “I,” is only established and has its continuity by accumulating experiences, therefore, memories and remembrances.

So, we already have the answer: “How to deal with thoughts?” By becoming aware that you, as this “I,” are nothing other than a movement of memory. How can we deal with memory? In an intelligent way. And what is this intelligent way of dealing with memory? By being Aware of Freedom. The point is that thought is not Free, memory is not Free, the past is not Free. There is only one way to get closer to this: it is by paying Attention to this moment, Attention to our relationships. A relationship Free from the past is a relationship Free from memory and, therefore, from thought.

Notice how important this is: at a certain level, thought is needed. Recognizing your face is memory, remembering your name is memory. So far so good, but this model of likes and dislikes, where does this come from? Let's make this clear here. Yesterday you told me nice things, then I like you. Yesterday you said unpleasant things to me, then I approach you with suspicion or even disliking you. This “like” and “dislike” concerns this “me,” this accumulation of memory. This memory is the psychological memory, in which the ego, the “I,” establishes its life, its continuity.

Thus, this continuity of the “I” is the continuity of this psychological memory. This psychological memory, which is the past, is what has been established in us over time. Every movement of relationship I have with this instant, with life, with others, with the world, is this instant being interpreted within this psychological connection of a time constructed by memory, of a time that is memory – this time is the psychological time.

It is in this psychological time that the “I” is living. Note that people want to learn how to deal with thoughts because thoughts produce suffering. How to overcome anguish? How to overcome fear? How to overcome anxiety? Notice, thought is the basis of anxiety, anguish, and fear. Thought is fear. There is no fear without the movement of thought. Thought is this movement that comes from the past, so this is the psychological time in which the person, which is the “I,” each one of us, is living.

We are always establishing the psychological past in our relationships at this moment, and that is conflict. So, there is no Truth, there is no Intelligence, there is no Love, because our life is situated in the past, in this “liking” and “disliking” from this center, which is a psychological center. It is the center of an identity formed by thought. These thoughts are images, they are remembrances, recollections; it seems to me that this has already become clear here for you. There is no other thought than this present.

The point here is that we don't need thought in our relationships, we need this Attention, this Intelligence, this Presence. Except for this very simple thought, the memory of your name and of your face, of the person you are, but notice, without any image of who you are, because this image we have of who you are, is something that comes from the past. That’s when contact becomes possible in the relationship with others, with life, without conflicts, without problems.

How do I get rid of obsessive thoughts? How do I get rid of negative thoughts? How do I get rid of repetitive thoughts? Notice, this is an addictive movement in this egoic mind, this consciousness of the “I,” of always being established in time, in this psychological time. Our investigation here is to discard this from our lives. Becoming Aware of Life happening here and now, in this direct contact with others or with any situation, or event, without this model of psychological time, of psychological formation.

Therefore, the vision of the Comprehension of what we are at this moment, what we demonstrate to be, what we present ourselves to be, becomes essential. This Attention on this movement – I refer to Mindfulness on each and every movement of thought, feeling, sensation, or perception. To become aware of this without placing this model, which is the model of the “I,” which is the model of thought, to try to adjust this moment to what it believes, wants, desires, expects, or is seeking. Alright?

So, that's our job here. This also occurs in online meetings on weekends. Here in the video description, you have our WhatsApp link to participate in these meetings that take place on weekends. In addition, we have face-to-face meetings and also retreats. If what you have just heard is something that makes sense to you, go ahead and leave your like here, subscribe to the channel, and please write it here in the comment: “Yes, it makes sense.” OK? And see you at our online meeting on the weekends. Thanks for the meeting and see you next time!

Spiritual Awakening | A life free of this ego | Advaita: Non-duality | Advaita

What I've noticed is that people find it difficult to follow a speech like this. That’s because we already have a pattern, a formula, a specific way of thinking about subjects, and this way, this manner is with assertions of words, with assertions of beliefs, with pre-established conclusions.

If we want to approach a subject like this... Notice, it involves the end to all confusion, all disorder, all human suffering. We are working with you on the Realization of your Being, the Divine Realization, the Realization of God – some call this the Awakening of Consciousness or the Spiritual Awakening.

Here we are dealing with you with the end of that center which is the “I.” So, let's first clarify this for you. What is this “I”? What is this center? When you look at a wheel, you know that it has a center. There is the center of the wheel and the spokes, there is the outer part, the periphery. Thus, there is the center and the periphery. There is the center. Looking at a bicycle wheel, there is the center, the spokes and the rim.

The sense of “someone” present here at that instant is exactly the idea of this center. Around this center we have the spokes, we have the experiences of life and we have the rim, which is life itself. So, this is how we conceive, idealize our human life, from a center.

This center is the “I,” the ego, the “person.” Life is happening around this “person” – at least that's how we believe. Therefore, that’s how we are living. We can't say that this isn't real. What we can say is that it needs to be investigated because the basis of the reality of it, of the truth of it, is that this is what all the confusion, all the suffering, all the disorder in our lives consists of. So, this is what shows itself, this is what our life is at that instant – the life of this “person,” the life of this “me,” the life of this “I.”

What we're dealing with, here, together is the importance of having an approach to recognize that what we call “life” or “my life,” within this design where we have a center around which life happens, is something we need to discard since it has no truth when we have the Divine Reality present, when we have the the Reality of God present.

So, note: we are dealing with what is, with what shows itself to be, with what seems to be. This is the truth of this “I,” where we have this private life. But, will there be anything else besides that? And that's what we're saying. Yes, there is certainly something beyond that, which is the true Divine Life, the true Life of God, not the private life of this “I,” this center, this ego.

Then, how can we get closer to it? By learning to look at it. I've said that there's a difference between seeing and looking. When you see something, you know what's there from the knowledge you have, which you bring. When you see a person, you know who they are. This knowledge of who they are, this knowledge you have when you see something or when you see someone, is based on past experiences you've had with them. So, when you stand in front of him or her, you see them. It's one thing to see, but it's quite another to be before that looking.

Here, we need to discover a life where there is a space completely free of this center and this periphery. Then, the Divine Life, the Life of your Being, the Life of God, the possible life for you is the Life where there is no longer this center and therefore no longer this periphery. How can we get closer to this Life? By learning to look.

This looking is possible when there is no center to see, which observes, perceives. When there is no center, we no longer have this seeing. Notice the beauty of this. We can recognize a person's face, but at the same time we don't have any knowledge of them, any experience, any memory based on the past, because we don't have that center.

Perceive the difference. Looking is completely different from seeing. You are in this “looking,” in this living, in this contact with the “other” without separation because that center, which is the “I,” the observer, the one who brings from the past all the experiences you've had with him or her, is no longer present.

Here, I refer to these psychological experiences. You've had pleasant and unpleasant moments, moments when you've had pleasure and also suffering with that person, and this has given you a foundation. This is the foundation of this center; this center is the ego, the “I.”

Is it possible to live a life free of this center, this ego, a life completely free of this relationship with the “other” based on all of these past experiences? Our relationships with people are relationships of love and hate, of liking and disliking, of pleasure and pain, of comfort and discomfort. This is because of this ego, this center.

Then, as long as there is this center, there will be this periphery, there will be this way of approaching where what is showing itself there, what is being seen, because of this center, is being evaluated, judged, accepted, rejected. So, our human relationships are conflictual relationships, because there is this separation, and this separation is present because there is not that space.

Thus, we're here with you going deeper into this. Looking without the image I make of who you are. The image I have of who you are is an idea, a conclusion, something that comes from all the past experiences in this relationship with you. So, we are never before the new, the unusual, the unknown.

Thus, a life free of contradiction is a life free of suffering. This is present when there is no longer this separation, this division, when there is no longer this center, when the space is free of the “I,” of the ego. Then, all the space present in the relationship is filled with a new perfume, which is the perfume of Love, of Comprehension, of Intelligence.

The matter here is: how can we get closer to it? How can we approach it in this life? By discovering the Truth about who we are, when we become aware, when we become conscious of all this movement, which is the movement of the “I,” of the ego, what shapes this center and how to dismantle these mechanics.

“If you praise me, I like you,” “if you applaud me, I like you,” “if you recognize me, I like you,” but “if you criticize me, condemn my speech, reject my ideas, oppose my opinions, I don't like you.” So, the mechanics of this center, which is the “I,” the ego, is structured exactly like this. This is the foundation of this center, this ego is the proper foundation.

We are always keeping images of the people we relate to; therefore, we are continually, invariably, living in the past. When I come into contact with you, I see you, I see you from that background, from that like and dislike. So, we have this mechanism of forming images in relationships. These images give shape to this center.

This contact with you is not a contact free from the center, it's a contact stuck in this pattern of images. So, the mind is trapped in duality. If the mind is trapped in duality, the brain is trapped in this pattern of duality, it's trapped in conflict, it's trapped in these distortions that thought produces. What is this thought? The memory.

So, when I say “I love you,” what I'm saying is that at that moment I feel comfortable with your presence because you warm, comfort, cheer, applaud, recognize and accept my ego, and vice versa, so “you love me and I love you.” When we disagree with this because of this mechanism that forms images and places us within these relationships where there is no space...

Notice, there is no space between this center and this periphery, this “me” and this not-me. There is no space. Not that space which is the Perfume of Grace, the Perfume of Love, the Perfume of Intelligence. There is only this space of contradiction, distrust, fear and disorder. So, we have here very clearly why the human being, why we in our relationships are not at peace.

How to find peace? People ask: “How do I find inner peace?” There can be no peace as long as this space is the space of duality, of separateness, of this “me” and not “me.” So, our proposal here is to break away from all this for a life free of the ego and, therefore, where there is a space, but without the center, there is a space without this “I” and the not-“I.”

Notice that life is about relationships. We can't have a life without relationships. So, the other is present, but psychologically, internally, within ourselves we don't have the image because we don't have this center. Then, your contact with life, your contact with situations, your contact with events, your contact with the “other,” your contact with yourself is happening without this “me.” Thus it's just to look.

Becoming aware of this body-mind without an egoic, personal identity present within it, this is the Real contact with yourself, where there is no such thing as “me.” Becoming aware of an arising thought, an emotion, a sensation, a perception without placing this “center” having this thought, feeling, emotion, perception, having it as something separate, seeing this “I” as the identity that can control, monitor, like, dislike this sensation, this thought.

Notice, this is the end of this duality, the end of this sense of separation, of this egoic duality, this sense of duality. In India this is recognized as Advaita, Non-separation, the end of the ego here and now. A life free of this center is a life free of the experiencer who forms images, acquires images and lives on this basis.

For this purpose we have online meetings that take place here on weekends, where we are going deeper into this through questions and answers and having a contact with the awareness of Meditation. We explore this in depth with you here on these weekends. You can find our WhatsApp link here in the video description to participate in these meetings, ok? Joel Goldsmith | Practicing the Presence | Relationship with God | Search for God | Master Gualberto

GC: Hello everyone! We are here for another videocast. Master Gualberto is here with us again. Thank you very much, Master, for your presence. Master, today I'm going to read an excerpt from Joel Goldsmith's book called “Practicing the Presence.” In an excerpt from this book, Joel says the following: “Our relationship with God, our Conscious Union with God constitutes our Unity with all spiritual beings and ideas.” Master, in your view, what is this Conscious Union with God, this experience with God?

MG: So, Gilson, we have to be careful about this – I mean in relation to this form of approaching that in general we have had until now, in this so-called “search” or “quest” for God. Because we have a language that is somewhat difficult for us to address. Because, first, language is within this model of duality. So, for example, we use expressions like “experience,” “experience with God.” What actually is an experience? We know what an experience is: it is something we have already been through and can report. Now, understand the difficulty, if we went through and can report, it is not something that is now, here. It's something that is already gone.

So, we believe in the possibility of having a relationship with God, as if there were someone here and God there, and we could have a relationship with Him within an experience. Remembering that every experience is just something that already was. We talk about an experience as something that happened. What will be the truth about God and what will be the truth about this “I”? The Reality about God is Indescribable, Nameless, it is not what is found. What is findable is findable by someone and is findable in time. God is not like that! Divine Reality is something that is in this instant, being what It is. Just what It is.

So, this is the Reality of God, and what is the reality of this “I”? This “I” is nothing more than a set of images, memories, and remembrances that thought formulates within each of us about who we are. So, how is this imagination, this “I,” going to have an encounter with God? Let's investigate this further. The Reality of the Revelation of God – since God is this nameless, indescribable Presence, now, here – the Revelation of this Divine Truth is That which is present exactly when this “I” no longer shows itself, when it no longer presents itself – since this “I” is just the past, it’s just memory, it’s just a set of images that thoughts have about who you are.

So, when we talk about a relationship with God, we have to have a careful approach, because you, as a person, cannot have a relationship with God. God is not in time, space and separate from what you are in your Being. And this “you” that you believe yourself to be, is just a character, an imagination of thought. So, what is the Reality of this Truth of God's Revelation? God is present when the “I,” this “me,” this ego, is no longer present. So, the work of Realization of the Truth of God or of Spiritual Enlightenment, of Spiritual Awakening, of the flourishing of this Natural State – which is how I always prefer to call it, although I use this a lot terminology that I just mentioned, because people use it a lot – this Natural State of Being is Consciousness and it is Divine Consciousness.

So, this is where the Truth of your Being is revealing itself. This is not an experience. It's important to say this, Gilson, because people spend their entire lives searching for an experience. Because they see themselves as separate entities in time, in space, and seeing Divine Reality as something, too, to be found and, naturally, in time and space. So, they live waiting to have an experience and when, in fact, they go through some level of emotional, sentimental, so-called “spiritual,” or “mystical” experience, they talk about it as if it were a trophy that they keep. They are just reporting a past experience, a memory record, an image.

What we don't realize here, Gilson, is that when we do this, we are not just dealing with illusion, we are maintaining, cultivating this illusion, which is the illusion of the “I,” because in that moment, it once again, when it reports an experience, when it deals with an experience giving itself the importance of having lived it, it is maintaining its continuity, its own movement, which is the movement that the ego appreciates most, which is to continue within time.

What is the beauty of these meetings, Gilson, that we have? We are investigating with you, here, the end of time, of that time that thought has produced. A time that, by the way, is strictly linked, closely connected to this issue of experience, because experience is what occurs when an experiencer is – the experiencer with its experience. The experiencer is this center of experiences, which is the “I,” the ego; Experiences are memories, remembrances of sensations, emotions, and extraphysical perceptions, which the ego gives great value to.

So, notice how delicate this is, listen patiently and don't get upset with me: all the human beings' search for these experiences is because we want to have something outside this condition of life, of existence – which, truly, I understand: it is tedious, it is tiring, it is boring, it is full of conflicts and problems – and we want to have a special sensation, but all of this still supports the “I.” The good news here is that we don't need experiences. All we really need is to become aware of the Present Silence, of the Power of Presence in this Silence, when the ego, which is the experiencer, is no longer present.

Now, what we're saying, Gilson, is something that, for most people, sounds completely strange, what I'm saying here. Because when this moment is, experience doesn't remain, because the experiencer doesn't enter. So, the Truth of Real Contact with God is at the end of the “I,” at the moment it happens. So, experience, the record, which is the experience for this experiencer, does not remain, because it is not present. The invitation to the Awakening of Consciousness, to the Awakening of your Real Being, of the Divine Reality that you bring, is an invitation to the end of the experiencer with its experience. It is an invitation to end this illusion, this imagination, this future encounter with God. It is the end of time, because it is the end of this model of thought, this pattern of egoic identity present. So, there is something extraordinary, nameless, indescribable, which is not an experience; it is the end of all experiences at the instant, at the moment present.

So, in these meetings you have moments like this, when the sense of “I” is not there. The Silence, the Power of this Presence, of the Revelation of this Grace – and none of this has a name, it is beyond! We call it Power, Presence, Grace, God, but this is unnamable – it is present and no experience or experiencer is left. God Realization is possible, but it is God taking His place, taking His space and discarding this illusion of this present identity. So, it is not about experiences being stored, acquired, treated later as something, as a symbol of success or achievement within this so-called “spirituality” … It is nothing like that! All of this is still part of an illusion, all of this is still part of the continuity of the “I” itself. It becomes more subtle, it becomes more spiritual, but it remains present. So, that's it.

GC: Master, this vision of the Master is very revolutionary, because the Master commented and that is exactly what happened to me: I was a seeker, a collector of experiences. I was always looking for an experience, a, let's say, contact with God, which is feeling peace, feeling this, feeling that – I was always looking for experiences. So, I had some experience, I recorded it: “Ah! I had a good experience, how wonderful!” And then came the desire to have the experience again. And this contact with the Master is beautiful and unique, because in Satsang, which are these meetings, both online and in person with you, Master, I initially found it strange, because the Master never shares past experiences, the Master is always now, imparting this vision you have. And I saw that all this longing that I had for experiences was a suffering, because it was always a desire for one more experience, for one more experience and, by Grace, for this sharing of the Master's Presence, that desire was gone, and now when thought comes bringing memories of one experience or another, most of the time this is seen. Because, in Satsang with the Master, in this Silence, it is not an experience! It’s something very different, because it’s not like: “Wow, I had an experience X.” This happened to me in several meetings, after the Satsang ended and then: “Okay, what experience did I have? What did I learn?” I didn't learn anything! Time simply flew by in a light way, in a way that there was no record of this experience. Can the Master talk a little more about this?

MG: So, Gilson, notice this, people, how simple it is: when you have an encounter with Something that is full of Grace, Beauty and Love, at that moment there is a complete emptying of all this psychological content of identity which is the ego that records. This moment of Plenitude, of Completeness of Being… You are on the top of a mountain and you look from the top of the mountain to the valley below. From the top of that mountain you see a mountain range and a deep valley far below, and some very high clouds. This look, in front of this scenario, for example, you have an instant of Plenitude, of Completeness, where there is a complete emptying of all this psychological content.

In that moment, there is no record, because, in that moment, there is no separation between you and those mountains in the background, and those clouds in the sky, and that deep valley. At that moment, there is no you and that scene. So, there is no you, the experiencer, and the experience. It's just a single instant, a Real Experiencing of that moment in such Completeness, in such Grace, Love, Silence, whatever name we want to give it, because it has no name…. The sense of “I” has been swept away from within you, the ego has been swept away. So, this is a typical example of the Natural State, of the one who lives in his Being, he is outside of psychological time. In that instant there, at the top of that Mountain, you are outside of psychological time. You are outside the ego, you are outside the “I.” At that moment, there is no experience; there is experiencing, but not an experience.

You may, half an hour after you come down from the mountain, or an hour later, or two hours later, remember, have a remembrance of that, but that remembrance is no longer a remembrance, it is an imagination, because it is not a record, you did not manage to record this. We cannot capture this instant, these two seconds, three seconds of impact of Power, of Silence, of Presence. We don't register this; this is outside of what the ego can capture for itself. So, the moment in life, of Presence, of Silence is not recorded. But thought, in its acquisitive model, tries to capture that and wants more. When you are in the presence of someone, of a look, and something happens and your heart, your Being, everything is invaded by a Silence, a Stillness, for a second or two there is no center, which is the “I,” the ego, to make it something for itself. At that moment, there is a complete emptying of this sense of “I.”

If you come across a beautiful face, the look of a child, a bird perched on a tree branch, the sound of a bird singing, listening – for a second, or two, or three – is just listening, it's just this instant, it's just the moment. The “I” is not there, the ego is not there, the experiencer is not there, so there is no record. It is an example of approaching the present moment without the ego. This encounter with the Divine Reality, which is the Reality of your Being, is possible when there is Meditation. And Meditation is present exactly when this emptying happens, at that moment, emptying of this entire model of egoic existence, where, in the ego, the movement of the ego is of acquisition, is of search for some form of satisfaction, of fulfillment, of pleasure, of sensation.

Notice, I just gave an example: there is no pleasure, there is no sensation, there is no search for fulfillment, it is just an instant of emptying the “I,” and, however, an instant of completeness, because nothing is missing, no desire arises, no fear arises, no problem arises, no ambition, no envy. The ego is not there! No thoughts about work, about what is missing in your life, about what is missing, or about what you need to have, because the ego is not there. When thought is not there, there is no thinker. When the one who sees is not there, there is only observing without the observer. Note that when you see from a viewpoint of the one seeing, one likes and dislikes, it is to do something with it. And when it's just observing, it's just observing; when there is only listening, it is just listening. This is Being. So, it is a Natural State of Being.

Meditation is the flourishing of this Natural State of Being. One detail, Gilson, this does not come through practice, this comes as a Real result of Self-Awareness in this instant, here and now. Becoming aware of the movement of the “I” without separating yourself from whatever is emerging at this moment, the sense of separation dissolves, and this Natural State appears in living, in everyday life. The challenge is, in the present moment, driving your car, taking your child to school... These are very ordinary examples that we have here... cooking rice, washing dishes, or in another very simple activity, realizing right now that there is no one, it's just life without the “I,” without this “me.” And when it is just life without this “me,” without the “I,” there is no separation, there is no duality, therefore, there is no problem. There is no conflict, there is no suffering, there is no fear, there is no desire. Discovering your Natural State of Being is Realizing Truth in this instant, which is God, which is your Being, which is the Divine Nature within us.

GC: Master, I see that it is so unique what the Master lives. I see this, mainly, when I am in Satsang and I dive into this Silence with the Master, because, as the Master said, in this Silence there is not a thought of what I need, the thought of a problem. It is a void of complete Peace, of complete Harmony... And it is something so indescribable, unique, that only truly embarking on this Silence that the Master lives to have a glimpse of what this life in complete Freedom is, that the Master lives, in this full Silence.

MG: This is here and now, Gilson, this is the Nature of your Being. This is prior to the appearance of this body in this world scenario. This is why the Sages say that you are neither born nor die, because you are this Silence, this Reality that surpasses everything that thought can describe. Assuming this in this life, in this dream of existence, this is Self-Realization. Assuming this Reality of your Being, the Reality of God, is the Reality of this Silence. The way we can approach this is by becoming aware of this movement, which is the movement of thought, sensation, emotion, perception, without placing an identity present in this movement. To discover the approach to Self-Awareness that requires the presence of this look, this Attention to all this movement that arises.

When there is this Attention, the Truth of Self-Awareness is revealed. In this Self-Awareness, in this Attention, it is revealed That which is outside this model of how our brain has worked due to the social, cultural, and educational conditioning that we receive in this supposed entity that we believe to be. This dismantles this mechanics, this dismantles this mechanism, this dismantles this egoic center. So, the Truth of Revelation, of Meditation, shows itself in this instant. To bring this to each moment, to each instant, to each event, to each way of perceiving, to feeling, to each thought that arises… becoming aware that this entire existential phenomenon does not necessarily require the presence of an identity – which is the ego – to condemn, to judge, to compare, to reject, to aspire to alter or change something.

So, we nullify that identity. It is nullified by the Awareness of this Real Consciousness, this Full Attention. Then, your Natural State is revealed, which is Meditation, which is Stillness, which is Plenitude. The names are diverse, but here we have the Presence of Truth, the Unique, nameless, undeniable Presence that is the Divine Presence, that's it. (laughs)

GC: Master, we have another question about this same subject, from a subscriber to the channel. He asks the following: “Are we the experiencer and the experience at the same time? Sometimes it seems to me that the true “me” is neither of them, but rather something above them that observes them, but I still don't have much clarity on this.”

MG: We're just putting this here for you: experiencer and experience, they are a unique phenomenon within time. That which is constructed within time, disappears within time, has no reality outside of time, so it cannot be Real. So, Reality is not within the known, it is not within time, it cannot be the one who is the experiencer, who sees himself as separate from the experience. Our idea is mistaken, we speak or hear about an “I,” a human consciousness, a personal consciousness, an atma, or a soul… We have different names for this observer, for this thinker, for this experiencer, but it is something that is present along with its experience, with its perception, with its specific and particular way of seeing, and all of this is completely illusory.

There is a Reality outside of all this, and this Reality cannot be reached, described, named by thought. Our approach here is to learn the Art of looking without this observer, seeing without the one who is seeing, perceiving without the one in perception. That’s when it is possible to discover Something outside of perception, seeing, and experiencing. That´s it.

GC: Master, we are already finishing our time and thank you for this videocast. For those of you watching the video, leave a like, leave a comment, including questions for us to bring to the next videocasts. And, mainly, if you are interested, the real interest in delving deeper into this investigation that Master Gualberto brings, you are invited to participate in the weekend intensives, which are the Satsangs, both online and in person and also the retreats where, in this sharing of Presence, we can, in a way, “experience” this Silence – which is not an experience, which is Something completely new, it is Something out of time and indescribable. So, here's the invitation: in the first pinned comment and in the video description there is the link. Master, gratitude.
