Psychological conditioning | What is thought? | Life free from egoic consciousness

I want to work with you on the central idea of individuality in us. We carry this idea, the idea of this individual consciousness. So, I'd like to present you with the science of this Truth, the Truth of the illusion about this individual consciousness.

We have predilections, we have choices, we have likes and dislikes, yes, of an individual order, of a particular order, of a personal order, just as we also have very personal, particular thoughts, and we mistake this for the sense of a present individuality. Thus, we have an illusion here: the illusion of this individual consciousness. We don't investigate the nature of consciousness in ourselves, we don't investigate the nature of this way of thinking, feeling and acting in life, and so we believe in this individual consciousness.

Then, what is the truth? The collective consciousness or the individual consciousness? This individual consciousness – I want to say it again – is just an idea, a concept, a belief that we have because what prevails is this collective consciousness. So, these particular choices are born out of conditioning.

This so-called “consciousness in us” is the consciousness of the “I,” the particular consciousness of an identity that is present within experience, in life, making choices. But it doesn't determine any individuality present, but rather the illusion of an individuality. This is the consciousness of the “I,” this is the egoic consciousness.

So, I’d like you to explore this with me today. It would be very interesting if together we could follow what we are working on here at the moment. Observe your way of feeling and thinking and you'll find out. Our particular way of feeling and thinking actually comes from a background of human history, of human conditioning, of the idea of humanity.

So because of our upbringing, we have “choices,” ideas about things, concepts, opinions, judgments and evaluations. Thus, our “life” in this condition of the identity of the “I,” of this illusory individuality, illusory individual consciousness...

The truth about this is that you have your own name, you have your own house, you have your own car, you have your own family, and this gives us the illusory feeling of the presence of an individuality.

What we have here are particular things for a particular person, but we never investigate the truth of this “person.” We never get close to finding out what its meaning is, what this person is, what they represent, what they really are, what the truth of being someone is. Then, our movement in life is always the particular movement of this person. Follow this and investigate it here.

Observe within yourself all this movement of thought and you will observe that these are thoughts that occur in you, and that occur in everyone. With the exception of these particular thoughts linked to particular objects, our way of thinking is the collective way of thinking. Our beliefs are the beliefs we have received from our culture, our society, our world, our family history.

Thus, these thoughts, whether religious, political or social, are collective thoughts. There is no specific way of thinking that is free. No thought in us is free, and it's not free simply because every thought has an origin; and we're going to investigate this with you here, what this movement of thinking is in us, so we have a hint of what the person represents.

What, in us, is this way of thinking? All thought in you is something that comes from memory, consequently, it's something that comes from the past, and it's something that repeats itself in the same way for everyone. There is no thought truly free because all thought is memory; it's something that comes from the past.

So, thought is just a memory of an experience that has gone, of an experience that has passed. Then, what is thought, in order to discover what this thinking is in us? Thoughts are remembrances. When you go through experiences, you keep those experiences within yourself as remembrances.

These remembrances present themselves at that moment as thoughts. These thoughts are not free because they are born from that memory, from that past experience. In other words, the thought is already born here and now, as something that comes from the past, therefore, something that has no life at this moment. Therefore, it is not free.

The life that thought receives at that moment is the life of the illusion of the thinker, of that experiencer – it's not Real Life. Notice that our actions are born from thought, so they are responses at this moment, given to this moment by the past, in other words, they are not free responses since they are born from an experience that has already gone.

Notice your relationship with people, there is no freedom in that relationship because your relationship with him or her is a relationship based on memory, remembrance, the past, thought, and comes to life due to the illusion of the presence of that thinker. So, that's what we call thinking.

So, our relationships are based on frames, on remembrances, and images. There is no freedom at that moment in the relationship because thought is not free. The way you act at that moment with regard to your husband, your wife, your children, the people with whom you are in a relationship... These people in your relationship are in contact with you right now, receiving a response from you that comes from the past, and vice versa.

So, our relationships are relationships without freedom; they are not taking place with Freedom because they are taking place within the prison of the model of thought. Is that clear? It's thought that tells us who the other person is. What is this thought? A concept that comes from the past. We don't know who the other person is.

Look how fascinating it is to discover this, to observe this, to realize this in yourself, in this contact with the other. We've been living with someone for ten or twenty years. That “someone” is never the same, we always have a new remembrance, a new frame, a new image of those people when we meet them. But that new image, that new picture, that new remembrance is something that comes from the past. Thus, our contact is never a new contact, it's a contact with the past.

We have the illusion that we know who the other person is, and they have the illusion that they know us too. We do have their name, which is also a memory, the shape of their face, which is also a memory, a model of behavior that we know in them, but this all comes from memory. That's how our relationships are.

So, our relationships are based on the past. In fact, our whole life is based on the past, and that past is the collective past, it's the way the collective consciousness works, the way this so-called “human consciousness” works.

Is there a quality of life possible, right now, free from this model of thinking? Because this model is the form of conditioning, of programming, of thinking format that we know. So, this is the condition of psychological thinking, of psychological conditioning, of brain movement in us, of behavior in our relationships. Our relationships with people are like this; but notice, our relationship with ourselves is like this.

What you have about yourself is a set of images, remembrances, and frames. That's what a story of a person is. So, what is a person? It's the set of remembrances they have of themselves. Then, our relationship with the world is a relationship of projecting thoughts, conclusions, beliefs, opinions, ideas, positions. Included in this are our religious, spiritual, philosophical and political beliefs. Is it possible to live a life free from this model of human consciousness, of egoic consciousness and, therefore, of collective consciousness, of repeating the past?

Envy, jealousy, fear, anger, all this internal confusion that produces in us suffering, afflictions, contradictions, note that all this is something that comes from this movement of this collective consciousness. This is the already programmed model of culture, society and the world present in us.

Is it possible to empty this model of collective consciousness in order to see the Real Presence of Being True Consciousness? So, this True Consciousness is not particular, it is not personal, it is not human, it is not collective, it is the Consciousness of Reality, of the Reality of this Being that we are.

Our work here consists of discovering this verification of the illusion we bring within. Becoming aware of this illusion through self-observation, becoming aware of the movement of thought in us, perceiving how this thought works, how this game of images that come from the past is happening, is working in our relationships, becoming aware of this game, becoming aware of this movement of unconsciousness present in us, perceiving this, being clear about this is something Real within a vision of approaching Self-Awareness.

Looking at this movement of thought, feeling, sensations, perceptions, the way I see him or her, how I relate to him or her, how I relate to myself, with this sense of “I,” becoming aware of it and perceiving that we are facing a game of images, of mental formulations. That's getting closer to Self-Awareness. Notice, there is a way to get closer to this, and the only way to approach this is by bringing up Attention to this moment.

Bringing Attention to this moment is becoming aware of how we function. To realize that all this movement is already the movement of repetition, of conditioning, of the movement of the past, of thought in which there is no Freedom. Looking at it, just looking at it, becoming aware of it. It's not about doing something with what you see at this instant, but just becoming aware, aware of yourself here, at this moment, in the relationship with the other, in the relationship with yourself, in the relationship with life.

Studying ourselves is the most important thing we have in life. Then, we have an approach to our Being, to the Revelation of That in us which is unspeakable, indescribable, which is beyond what thought, movement, which is this movement of thought, can ever have any approach to, since all this thought, as has already been said – note, all of it – is only memory, and memory is something that has already gone. We are faced with something new in this contact with the Reality of What we are.

So, life reveals itself as an experience of this moment, without the past. Life shows itself at this moment as something unique that is being, at this moment, Life itself revealing itself, without this illusory “center” that is the “I,” the ego, which is this illusory individual consciousness, and which is also the end for this collective consciousness. It is the Consciousness of this Being, of this Freedom, of What is unnameable, indescribable, which is the Truth of this Being that we are. The approach to Meditation, the art of Being, is the art of this Real Consciousness of Being. Then, here we have something very important, which is the approach to the Truth of Meditation along with Self-Awareness.

Here on the channel we have several playlists investigating this subject with you. The subject of the end to this illusory sense of individual consciousness and the beginning of something entirely new. We also have online meetings, where we work on this with you. You can find our WhatsApp link to take part in these meetings here in the video description. So, if this is something that makes sense to you, go ahead and leave a comment here: “Yes, it makes sense”. OK? And please leave your “like” and subscribe to the channel. See you.
