Alright! The question is: how to attain Spiritual Awakening? Or: How to attain Spiritual Enlightenment?” Notice: people intend to reach, get there, or obtain. Here, I have good news for you. You don’t need to move toward This or accomplish something in time for This. This movement takes time, and this so-called “realization” in time takes a lot to do. People idealize this as something for the future. Future is time and the realization of this, in time, requires effort and work within that purpose, that objective.
Here, I want to tell you that the Reality of your Being – what some people call Spiritual Enlightenment and others “Spiritual Awakening” – the Realization of your Real Nature, Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Awakening, or the Realization of This is the Acknowledgement of This here and now. It takes no effort, no time.
I'm not saying that you don’t need work. Yes, work is needed! And it’s the work of unlearning, deconstructing, and abandoning illusion. So yes, there’s work. But it’s not a positive effort to accomplish something. And it’s not something tomorrow; it’s something here and now, at this instant.
There’s a direct way to approach the answer to this question: how to attain Spiritual Awakening? How to attain Spiritual Enlightenment? There’s a direct way to this Realization. This Realization I also call Acknowledgement. The direct way, due to this work, lies in the emptying of this psychological content, this “I,” this “me,” this ego.
Osho called this “me,” this “I,” this ego, “the false center.” So, in the language of Osho, it was “the false center.” He said: “Abandon the ego,” that is: abandon this false center! Go beyond the illusion of this false center! Observing the movement of the “I,” the ego, this false center… this is how we approach this abandonment of the ego, this “going beyond” this false center.
Here, we work with you on this: the end of this illusion, the illusion of “I.” So, this “unlearning” about yourself… What do you know about yourself? Everything you know about yourself is everything thought has built up around the person you believe to be. So, around this identity, this person you believe you are, there’s a set of thoughts, concepts, ideas, and beliefs, in addition to a continually reactive internal disposition, which I call psychological conditioning, to react to experiences from this “I,” this “false center.” That’s what you know about yourself.
What you know about yourself is how to react. Then, there’s a reaction of fear and desire. There’s a reaction to every form of inner suffering, every form of psychological suffering. That’s what you know about yourself, about this “me,” this “I.” Envy, fear, jealousy, greed, doubts, hopelessness, hope, pleasure and pain – that is all you know about this “me,” this “I,” this “you,” with which you identify and mistake yourself for all the time.
So, unlearning it, discovering the Truth of What is beyond this sense of a present “me,” of ego: that was the way or approach to this pointing to the end of this “me,” this ego… I refer to the pointing of Ramana Maharshi.
We’ve already had several exponents of this same Truth in our time. I quoted Osho, but we have, at this moment, Mooji sharing This, speaking of this same Reality. Mooji was the one who was with Papaji, a direct disciple of Ramana Maharshi. So, the Vision of the Truth about your Being, of your Divine Reality, is something that has been shared by those who have realized This.
The Truth of your Being, the Truth about your Real Nature, What is the unchanging Reality, present here and now, is not something to reach or to be obtained. So, to the question “how to attain?”, the answer is “here and now, acknowledging!” For that “how?”, it’s here and now, acknowledging What is present as your Real Divine Nature.
How does This become possible? Through effort, through mystical practices, through different so-called meditation practices? No, absolutely not! It’s by the direct Acknowledgement of the Truth that lies present here and now. “So, shouldn't I discipline myself? Shouldn't I try hard? Shouldn’t I meditate?” All you need is to become aware, here and now, of this whole process of psychological conditioning; observing This, direct attention to observe this... That attention requires no effort, but rather a heart turned to this. Notice that when you have your heart turned to something, all your interest in other things disappears. When you are truly turned to only one thing, it’s very natural the interest, the focus, the attention to that, and everything else loses importance.
All that we need to acknowledge the Truth of God is not discipline, not effort, not technique, method, practice, not following a model of doctrine or a system. All we need is to be really on fire for This, burning for This. It takes a deep appreciation for This, then everything else loses importance and that one interest remains. Then, that attention naturally becomes full and complete for This.
So, this mindfulness is the basis for a true approach to this Self-awareness, this looking at yourself, here and now. This look allows you to perceive all this movement of the “I,” all this reactive movement of the ego, of this “me,” of this false center. This false “I,” this false center, the illusion of this identity is seen. This is true Self-awareness, this is the real Self-awareness.
Looking at it requires this full attention, and it comes very naturally when you are really burning for This. And This is now! You don't keep sowing until you realize in this so-called “future"… sowing confusion, still cultivating some form of fear, frustration, turmoil, and emotional disorder, because that illusion of time ends when that attention is here and now. So, no seeds are being sown in this so-called “time” to get This tomorrow. When you want to accomplish This tomorrow, you say, “There will be time.” And during that time you go on living in illusion, contradiction, conflict, suffering, and fear, cultivating these aspects of ego-identity.
However, when your intention is real, you are truly burning for the Truth of Awakening, of the Realization your Being... when your appreciation for This is a deep and real one, as it has already happened, throughout human history, with several beings who have already realized God. And here, I mentioned Osho at one end and Mooji at the other – Mooji, within that lineage of Papaji and Ramana Maharshi. Osho was also one who realized This, within his own path of Encountering or Acknowledging this Truth in Himself.
Here, I want to invite you to look at What You are, here and now, and acknowledge the Truth of your Being; then, you have this Truth showing itself, this Truth unfolding itself. This occurs because of this approach with Self-awareness, in this full attention to this whole movement of the “I,” dismissing the illusion of a discipline, a system, a method, or practice.
One important thing here is to tell you this: people want to dedicate themselves to a certain technique, practice, or discipline… Actually, it’s not for the Realization of the Truth about who they are, but rather to accomplish something outside this model of routine, boredom, and confusion in which they live; and through an experience, a mystical experience! And, in a way, they can even get that in these so-called meditation practices or in using some substances to get a mystical experience, a so-called esoteric or spiritual experience, but it’s just an experience still within that “I,” that ego.
Here, I point out to you the end of this experiencer, this “I,” this ego. And this is only possible when there’s real contact with True Meditation in practice. Here on the channel, we have a playlist about Self-awareness, True Self-awareness, and True and Real Meditation in practice, what is here and now, at this moment. Looking at all this movement of the “I,” cutting this entire ego content off, is the Realization of True Meditation in practice.
So, it’s not about running away, temporarily, from a psychological pain, an existential conflict, or a routine, to search for an experience where you can have some vision, some so-called experience of expansion of mind or consciousness, but the sense of “I,” of the ego, of the illusion is still present. Then, it’s important not to mistake this for the Realization of God, True Spiritual Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment.
So, this is the subject we work on with you here, within the channel. If this is something that makes sense to you, I want to invite you to leave your “like,” subscribe to the channel, and also look at this.
If that’s something that makes sense for you, we have online and in-person meetings and also retreats where we work on that with you. Ok? Here’s the invitation and see you next meeting. Thanks for another moment together.
