The Supreme Self-Awareness | The importance of Self-Awareness | Self-Awareness in practice

Here our focus is on the comprehension of the Divine Reality, the Reality of this Being, this Supreme Being. We have to use words, of course, but we are dealing with something that is outside the mind. Therefore, we are putting here for you something that thought cannot achieve.

The only way to get closer to this, in a Real way, is through Self-Awareness. So, Self-Awareness is the only way. This is the only way to get closer to the Reality of who we are. This approach is essential to our lives.

Thus, we are dealing with the importance of Self-Awareness. This awareness of Self-Awareness, this Revelation of Self-Awareness, this comprehension of what we are, reveals this Reality beyond the mind, beyond this sense of an “I” present since this “I” is the experiencer of the experiences and is the one who is situated within a time that thought has created, has structured for its own self-identity.

So, note how delicate it all is. Thought has created a time, established a certain time for itself. Then, the idea in thought is of past, present and future. This is where thought locates this identity, this particular identity that we believe to be. Thus, this is the sense of the “I” present, of this “me,” of this ego.

The point here is that we can only get closer to the Truth in a practical way. So, Self-Awareness is in practice. Becoming aware of the Reality of your Being, of your Divine Reality, is the Supreme Self-Awareness.

So notice, we're not dealing with the ordinary form of this expression here. In an ordinary sense, this expression “self-awareness” is used in various senses out there, and here we are giving this expression a very particular, very peculiar, very unique meaning: it is the approach to the investigation of the nature of thought.

What is thought? What is the nature of thought? What is the structure of thought? What does thought structure if not this identity, which is “I”? So, the idea you have about yourself is a thought. This thought has in the “I,” in the thinker, the idea of an entity present. Then, this idea is the thought itself; this thought is the “I” itself; this “I” is the thinker itself.

Notice, this is how we situate ourselves in this psychological condition of being “someone,” in this past, present and future. Our investigation of this comprehension, which is the Truth of Self-Awareness in practice, see how very significant this is, of great relevance to all of us.

Putting the importance of Self-Awareness into the comprehension of what we are at this moment, what we manifest to be, what we reveal ourselves to be as people, as separate entities, that's what we need to investigate, to comprehend. This is what we need to be very clear about in our lives.

The comprehension of the Truth of your Being is the comprehension of the Reality of God. This Reality of God is not the private life of that “person.” So, when I say “for our lives, this comprehension is essential,” I mean this comprehension of this Unique and Real Divine Life we carry, but which we are unaware of because we are trapped or identified with this model of thought, this psychological prison of being “someone” within the experience.

It's the thought that's guiding all of this. It is thought that is shaping all of this. So, it's thought that needs to be comprehended. The comprehension of how thought occurs, how it occurs within each of us, having an approach to thought is being able to see that thought is something that appears as a construction of time itself – this time of human history, this time of the history of humanity.

All the records we have are remembrances, memories, recognition, and knowledge. So, it's something learned, memorized. All the knowledge acquired throughout human history is part of this structure of the “I.” Then, the history of the human race, of humanity, is something that is present in each one of us. Our behavior, our way of thinking, is therefore conditioned within this model.

Our way of feeling and the specific way we move in action are all being highlighted due to this structure, which is the structure of thought in each of us. Becoming aware of thought, realizing that the presence of this thought is something that always claims the presence of “someone,” who is the thinker, who is the one experiencing the experience and, naturally, translating, evaluating, judging, comparing, accepting or rejecting.

So, in a real, experiential way, Self-Awareness in practice reveals this movement, which is the movement of the “I,” which is the movement of the ego. The knowledge of this movement is the end to this structure, the structure of thought.

Can we deal with life without thought? Notice the question. Can we deal with the issues of life in a direct way, without this pattern of thought that comes from the past? When dealing with yourself, is it possible that I can deal with you without this prior knowledge? I refer to the psychological knowledge that has given structure to the “I,” to the ego.

There's a difference between knowing your name and recognizing your face. Notice, that's a thought, it's a memory recognition. So, there is a level of knowledge there. But there's a difference from this kind of simple knowledge – recognizing your face, having a remembrance of your name and dealing with the practical issues of life, in this relationship with you – there's a difference from this kind of knowledge, memory, experience, in this relationship, to this psychological memory, egocentric, present in this illusory identity that is this center, which is the “I,” the ego, which separates itself from you, which sees you from an image of liking, disliking, everything we've been through, all the conflicts, differences of opinion, different ideas, different beliefs.

Notice that all this separates us, divides us, puts us in an entirely personal, private, egocentric relationship with each other. So, this is a level of relationship where the images that come from the past, the remembrances, the memories, the thoughts, which are particular to this center, to this ego, have great relevance. So there is no Real contact without the thinker, without the “I,” without the ego.

We can have contact in a relationship free from the “I,” of the ego. This level of relationship is something that, in general, we don't know about. We are unaware of it because there is no such Freedom – the Freedom of Real Consciousness present. The consciousness we have in this contact is the egoic consciousness, it's the mental consciousness, it's the consciousness of the “I.”

Our entire focus here with you is on working on all of this, on getting closer, giving full importance to Self-Awareness. It is when there is this Real importance of Self-Awareness that we can become aware of this movement, which is the movement that comes from the past, from this pattern of thought, of memory, centered on the “I,” on the ego.

Clearly seeing this, perceiving this, the Truth of this revealing itself is something that is present when we are in contact with Meditation. And Meditation is something that also needs to be comprehended. The Truth of Meditation reveals itself at this moment, when this center, when this “I,” this ego, is not present here, at this instant. This requires Self-Awareness, this requires approaching this moment free of the past, free of the experiencer with its experiences.

Notice that all this is something that needs to be studied. We don't study it in books, we study it in ourselves. We become aware of it here, right now. The awareness of what goes on inside each one of us is the comprehension of this structure that comes from the past. This is how we approach the Beauty of Real Life.

Now, note that this Real Life is present when there is this death of the past, the death of this psychological movement of the “I,” of the ego. So, when there is the Real sense of death – and here this Real sense of death is the end of the past, of this psychological past, of this specific way of thinking and feeling, in this notion of the thought of time – all ideas end, all concepts disappear, all beliefs vanish.

Everything that is illusory in this sense of being “someone” in this contact with the other, with experiences, with situations, with events, with happenings, is something that now, here, is happening without this center, without this “I”; it is something that here, at this moment, is happening without this movement that comes from the past. So, we have the Revelation of the Supreme Self-Awareness.

That's what we're working on here and presenting within this channel. There is, of course, a vision of Reality born of Supreme Self-Awareness. Notice, it's not this “self-awareness” for personal goals and achievements of this “me,” this “I,” this ego, the mere ability to deal with this center, with this ego.

It is in this sense that people have used the expression “self-awareness”: getting to know oneself in order to improve as a person, to change one's behavior and thus obtain personal, particular results for oneself, engaging in self-development, self-improvement.

That's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about the Supreme Self-Awareness, the Reality of this Divine Being revealing itself, the Reality of God, the Divine Reality, What is beyond forms, beyond names, beyond ideas, beyond concepts and beliefs. So, there is something that shows itself present when egoic thought, when the movement of the “I,” of the ego, is no longer present. Alright?

So, the Real answer to life comes from Life itself when there is no more illusion, when there are no more distortions that thought produces – this conditioned thought, this thing inherited from culture, from society, from the world model.

This world, this society and this culture, all of which we know and which has been cultivating for millennia this ancient model of envy, fear, jealousy, hurt, resentment, bitterness, the permanent search for satisfaction, fulfillment, pleasure. All of this, of course, within this self-centeredness of the “I,” of the ego.

Can we discover something beyond all this? The answer is: yes. The Reality of your Being, the Divine Reality, the Reality of God, the Supreme Reality is something beyond all that.

We have online meetings that take place on weekends, Saturday and Sunday, two days where we dedicate our hearts, our minds to this investigation, to going deeper into this through questions, answers, in this contact, too, with the Silence of the Truth of Meditation. So here's an invitation for you. In the description of the video, you have our WhatsApp link to take part in these meetings.

So, if this makes sense to you, we also have face-to-face meetings and retreats. Please, leave your “like” here, subscribe to the channel and say in the comments: “Yes, it makes sense” Ok?

Thanks for the meeting and see you next time!
